Ty opened the front door after the doorbell rang. Two officers were there on the porch and he recognized them both immediately. The one warmed him, the other set him on edge.

“Evening, Mr. Caldwell.”

“Detective Campbell.” Ty said, his eyes on the other officer standing beside and behind Campbell.

“This is Officer Collins. I believe you remember him from earlier?” Campbell asked.

“Are you and I going to have that conversation now…buster?” Ty asked and cocked his head slightly.

“There’s going to be a conversation, sir, but not like you think.” Collins said.

“May we…?” Campbell asked with a bit of a smirk. Ty stepped out of the way and swept his hand to bid entry. The officers stepped in as Ty closed the door behind them.

“I believe you remember my husband, Derrick Jacobson.” Ty said mostly toward Campbell as Derrick stood up from the couch arm.

“Husband?” Campbell asked with a warm smile. Derrick stepped forward holding out his hand. Campbell shifted his gaze from Ty to Derrick, putting out his own hand, “When did you guys…?”

“Friday past actually.” Derrick said as they shook warmly.

“Newlyweds, wow. Congratulations.” Campbell said.

“Thanks. Good to see you again, Detective, or should I say, Officer?” Derrick asked.

“Detectives are required to do street duty once a month for their first year. It kind of makes the transition smoother. So, in uniform, it’s officer.” Campbell said with a slight smile.

“How does that make any sense?” Ty asked. Campbell looked at him as Ty came around him.

“Working the streets, you can get a taste of the adrenalin rush of it, then you switch to working a desk mostly, it kind of becomes a let down. Some guys can’t deal with it very well.”

“You mean like Detective Lance possibly?” Derrick asked. His eyes flashed and saw the tension in the other officer. Campbell chuckled.

“Well, I won’t stand here and defend him, because I can’t. What he did was wrong, very wrong, as you well know as you lived it. There were other issues with Lance sadly. Once you got to know him though, he really was a good cop and a nice guy.” Campbell said and Collins visibly eased a bit. Ty even noticed it.

“I’m sure. You’ll forgive me as it really didn’t go well for me.” Derrick said.

“I know, and again, I’m very sorry for that.” Campbell said, “Officer Collins has something he’d like to say to you, Mr. Caldwell.” Ty straightened and his eyes shifted toward the other officer. Ty folded his arms over his big chest.

“Uh, I wanted to say that…I was out of line earlier…I made the situation a little worse and I should have been more professional about it. I apologize.” Collins said and firmed up as he looked directly at Ty.

“Well, you’re not the only one.” Ty said, lowering his arms, “I got a little out of hand myself. I guess I owe you an apology too.” Ty said and stepped forward and put out his hand. Collins responded and did the same, they shook, “I’m sorry.” Ty took his hand back, “So I guess we’re not going to have that other conversation, huh?”

“Uh…no. Not after the way I saw you hit Mr. Freitas and the damage you did.” Collins said, “How’s your hand?”

“It aches a little. I’ve had worse.” Ty said and then smirked.

“I don’t doubt it.” Collins said, “Well, thank you for listening and accepting my apology. I have reports I have to write before end of shift. Have a good night.” Collins gave them all a nod and went to the door. They watched him leave and then Campbell turned his attention to Aiden. Their eyes met.

“My name is Dave Campbell. You must be Aiden.” He said and Aiden nodded, “Would it be okay if I asked you some questions, Aiden?”

“Sure.” Aiden said softly.

“Can I sit down?” Campbell asked softly and Aiden scooted over on the couch. Campbell moved to the couch and sat next to Aiden and took out a notepad and a pen, “I need to write down some of what you tell me, is that okay?” Campbell asked with a partial side glance.

“Sure.” Aiden said.

“I want you to know I talked to your brother, Seth. He’s a really good kid. He’s got a lot of spunk. You know what he told me?” Campbell asked as Ty moved over to the love seat and Derrick joined him, both watching. Aiden shook his head, “His main concern the entire time we talked was you. He was worried that you would be upset or worried about him. I guess you guys are close, huh?”

“Yeah.” Aiden said, “We’ve always looked after each other.”

“Was it kind of rough at home?” Campbell asked. Aiden hung his head and nodded, “Have you ever been in any kind of trouble?” Aiden shook his head and then lifted it looking at Campbell.

“Am I in trouble now?” Aiden asked and Campbell smiled.

“No, not at all. But here’s the deal, and I’ll be honest with you about it. You know you’re still underage, right?” Campbell asked and Aiden nodded, “And I know that Mr. Caldwell really isn’t your uncle. Do you feel safe here, Aiden?” Campbell asked. Aiden nodded, “Got your own room?” Aiden nodded again, “Good. Maybe you can show it to me after we’re done here, is that alright?” Aiden nodded again, “Okay, now here comes the tough stuff, okay?” Campbell asked and Aiden braced himself, as did Derrick and Ty, “Like I said before, I’m gong to be honest with you.” Campbell looked directly at Aiden, “When you’re underage, we’re supposed to get child services involved and they shelter you when stuff like this happens.”

“Are you going to call them?” Aiden asked and his heart was sinking, his chest was tight. Campbell shook his head.

“No, I’m not. And here’s why. I know those two guys sitting over there and I also know they’re both good people, and I know that they will take very good care of you. As far as I’m concerned, Mr. Caldwell really is your uncle and that you are staying with family and that’s the way my report is going to read. So nobody else is going to come knocking on the door here and drag you away.” Campbell said.

“It happened to one of my friends at school. It was really bad.” Aiden said softly.

“I’m sorry to hear that, I really am.” Campbell said, “So here comes more tough stuff. Can you tell me how this stuff got started?” Aiden hesitated, looked toward Ty and Derrick once and then back to Campbell, “Look, buddy, I know it’s tough. It might help you to know it happened to me as well, but I was younger than what you are now. You’re what, seventeen?” Aiden nodded and eased a little.

“Did it really?”

“Yeah, it did. You’re a lot luckier than I was. I lived on the streets for about a year and it wasn’t fun.” Campbell said.

“I’m sorry.” Aiden said.

“Hey, not your fault. I got through it and look at me now. So, I want you to know, I know how you feel and I’ll help you any way I can, okay?”

“Thanks.” Aiden said.

“But I need you to tell me what happened. Can you do that?” Campbell asked. Derrick and Ty sat almost mesmerized listening to Campbell, the way he was with Aiden, putting him at ease the way he did. It was more than impressive. Aiden recounted all of it to Campbell, every detail of it, the outing, the attack. It angered Ty to hear it. He really wanted to kill the slob now. Derrick could feel the hurt coming from Aiden but he also noticed that as Aiden spoke to Campbell that Aiden looked more at peace with himself and the situation and not so guarded any longer. Campbell wrote details down on the notepad, times, words that were spoken as quotes. He kept nodding toward Aiden as Aiden continued to speak, Campbell kept giving him side glances and the flash of a smile now and then until Aiden was done. Campbell took the notepad and slipped it into his uniform shirt pocket. He clicked the pen and slipped it in as well.

“What happens now?” Aiden asked.

“I write this up along with my other report about what happened at your mom’s house earlier.” Campbell said.

“What will happen to him?”

“Well that depends upon the judge. Your brother has volunteered video evidence from his phone with Mr. Freitas putting hands on me when I was trying to calm him. That alone is pretty damning for him. Good thing your brother was thinking.” Campbell smiled and shoulder bumped Aiden softly, making him smile.

“Yeah, he videos me sometimes too.” Aiden said.

“Not doing anything inappropriate I hope?” Campbell asked as more of a joke but Aiden took it seriously and shook his head.

“He videos me cleaning the house sometimes or when we’re working with my Uncle Bart.” Aiden said, “He drives me crazy when he does that. He says all kinds of stupid stuff or jokes around.”

“Sounds like you’ve got a good brother, and he cares about you and likes to have fun with you.” Campbell said.

“I guess.” Aiden said softly.

“Yeah.” Campbell said, “So, to make it official for my report, you want to show me your room?”

Conner knocked on the door of the room down the hall from his at the hotel. He waited a minute and then knocked again. There was no answer. Conner leaned close to the door, listening, and the room was quiet. Conner turned and went down to his room and used his keycard. He opened the door and froze. The room was totally torn apart. Clothes, papers, his laptop, everything was tossed everywhere. He went to the desk and picked up the phone and pushed the button for the front desk.

“Yes, Mr. Van Owen?” The voice said.

“I think you need to call the police and send up the manager if you will.” Conner said.

“Is something wrong, Mr. Van Owen?”

“My room has been broken into and it’s completely destroyed. I’ll wait outside the room for the police and the manager.” Conner said.

“I’ll get them right away for you, sir.” The voice said a little excitedly. Conner hung up the phone and backed out of the door. He waited for a few minutes in the silent hallway and then the elevator dinged. A man stepped out, black slacks and a white dress shirt with a tie and walked quickly toward Conner.

“Mr. Van Owen?” The man said as he approached, “My name is Curtain, I’m the manager of the hotel, sir. I understand your room has been broken into?”

“Yes. I’ve just returned and opened the door as saw the disaster. Have the police been called?” Conner asked.

“Yes, they have. They should be here shortly. I’m very sorry about this, sir. Did you not stay in your room last night?”

“I was visiting a business associates home last night outside of the city.” Conner said.

“I see.”

“I have another man I have taken a room for here on this floor, just down the hall. I knocked on his door but he is not answering. I’m wondering, can we check his room as well?” Conner asked and the man raised an eyebrow.

“I suppose we can.” Curtain said. Conner led the way and Curtain used his master keycard and opened the door. Conner stepped in and again, the room was destroyed as well.

“His room seems to be in the same shape. Don’t you have security here in the hotel?” Conner asked.

“Yes, but it’s very limited I’m sorry to say, Mr. Van Owen.” The man said at Conner’s back sounding very nervous with its tone, “The man that’s staying here, is he a friend of yours?”

“No, an employee of our company.” Conner said as he looked around but didn’t touch anything. He walked out as the elevator dinged and the doors opened. Two uniformed police officers stepped out and looked about. Curtain went to them quickly and spoke with them. Conner came toward them.

“Someone broke in your room?” The taller of the two officers asked Conner. His accent was slightly German.

“Yeah, it appears so.”

“We should take a look.” The officer said. They went to Conner’s door and Curtain opened it. The officers stepped in first, looking all around the living area seeing everything scattered everywhere, “Did you touch anything?”

“Only the phone to call the desk to have them call you.” Conner said. He was shaking his head a bit as the officers moved into the bedroom and then one of them looked in the bathroom.

“Better look in here.” He said to his partner. The other officer stepped to the door and leaned in, “Were you here last night?” The officer asked Conner.

“No.”

“You sure about that?”

“Yeah, very. Why?” Conner asked.

“Do you know who this man is?” The officer asked and Conner stepped forward. The other stepped into the bathroom further and Conner stepped in the doorway, looking around the corner. He wanted to hurl right then.

“Oh fuck.” He said and turned away, closing his eyes.

“Who is he?” The officer asked.

“He’s an employee of our company. I had him down the hall in another room.”

“That room is destroyed as well, officers.” Curtain said from near the front door.

“Did you see anybody in it?” The officer asked. Conner shook his head with his eyes closed still. Curtain shook his head as well.

“Better call this in.” The other officer said.

“Why don’t you go have a seat over there.” The officer said to Conner. Curtain looked more than nervous now, Conner went over to the little couch and sat down, wringing his hands, “Your name is Van Owen, right?” Conner nodded, “You’re an American?” Conner nodded again, “What are you doing here?”

“Uh, it’s a business trip. I’m here to close down our offices and get everything ready.”

“Where were you last night?”

“Uh…at the estate of Hiram Platt.”

“What were you there for?” The officer asked.

“I was invited out there for a lawn party, I guess you’d call it.” Conner said.

“Platt…is that the big mansion about an hour outside of the city?” Conner nodded, “How’d you get there?”

“Mr. Platt’s driver, Brian, came yesterday afternoon and picked me up and brought me back this morning.”

“So you don’t have a car?”

“No. When I go to the office, I call for a cab. The desk usually arranges it for me.” Conner said.

“I know this must be a bit of a shock for you.”

“I’ll say. I’ve never seen a…dead body before.” Conner said and let out a breath, shaking slightly, “I hope I don’t get sick.” The officer turned and picked up a small waist basket and set it at Conner’s feet.

“I don’t think you want to use the bathroom right now.” The officer said.

“Thanks.” Conner said, hanging his head a little. Conner’s phone kept buzzing. He was trying to ignore it. The officer noticed.

“Should you get that?”

“It’s probably just my office.” Conner said.

“Might be important.” The officer said. Conner pulled out his phone. He opened it. There were texts from Alec and a couple of voicemails. He listened to the voicemails. The first was from his office wondering where he was and for him to call in as soon as possible. The second shocked him. Conner lifted his head and looked at the officer, “What is it?” Conner took the phone and replayed the message but on speaker.

“By now, Mr. Van Owen, you have probably found the guest you have in your room. Do not contact the police. Meet us at Shark Rock Pier at one o’clock. Come alone and do not be late.” The voice sounded almost mechanical. Everyone in the room heard it. The officer looked at his partner.

“Call in again. Find out what’s taking so long.”

“This is worse than a fucking spy movie.” Conner whispered.

“Is there a number from that call?” The officer asked but Conner couldn’t focus. His mind was racing, “Mr. Van Owen…Mr. Van Owen?” A hand went to Conner’s shoulder and touched him. Conner jumped a little, “Come on…focus…was there a number from that call?” Conner looked at his phone and opened the call log. He showed it to the officer, “Unknown. Why doesn’t that surprise me? We may need to take your phone as evidence.”

“You can’t.” Conner said, “I do everything with it. It has all kinds of…” Conner said and then looked down, “Alec.” Conner whispered.

“It has all kinds of what?” The officer asked.

“Uh…personal pictures, uh…numbers to friends, business associates, emails. What am I gonna do?” Conner asked.

“First things, first.” The officer said and knelt down in front of him. Their eyes met, “We wait for the detectives to show up. We’ll fill them in and then get you some place safe.”

“Safe?” Conner asked. The officer nodded.

“Whoever ‘they’ are, they are obviously dangerous and they know how to get a hold of you. The voicemail proves that. To my mind, you are in danger.” The officer said.

“Should I go meet with them?” Conner asked.

“Absolutely not, unless you want to end like your friend in there.”

“Did they…drown him?”

“Well he is submerged under water in your bathtub. That would be my assumption. Do you have any friends here?” Conner shook his head, “What about this Mr. Platt?”

“Hardly a friend, more like a competitor.” Conner said, “I need to call my father and explain this.”

“Is he part of your company?”

“My father runs the company.” Conner said.

Alec opened his eyes and looked around the room. He was alone. He rolled his head slightly but it still hurt, a dull thumping ache. He rubbed his eyes and slowly sat up. He was fully dressed still but didn’t remember how he got on the bed. Everything was so foggy and unrelated to him. He saw his phone on the bed and picked it up. Still no texts from Conner. Alec sighed.

“Where the fuck are you when I need you the most?” Alec mumbled to himself. He opened the phone and called. It went right to voicemail. Alec hung up. He thought about it a moment, maybe he was on a plane already, on his way back here? God, I hope so. There was a knock on the open door. Alec looked up and Madame Julienne was standing there.

“I’m sorry to disturb you, Mister Alec.” She said in her soft voice, “There is someone downstairs that would like to speak with you.”

“Who is it? Is it the police?” Alec asked.

“In a manner of speaking, yes.”

“Okay.” Alec said and swung off the bed slowly, “Maybe I should go to the bathroom first.”

“He is waiting in the family room whenever you’re ready.” She said.

“I’ll be right down.” Alec said. He went into the bathroom and closed the door. He used the toilet, flushed, and went to the sink washing his face. He dried himself and went out. His head was pounding. He went downstairs and saw the man in a suit standing there, waiting, “Hi.” Alec said as he came off the stairs and came forward toward him.

“Are you Alejandro Marquez?”

“Yes.”

“Mr. Marquez, my name is Dobbins.” He said and reached into his lapel jacket pulling out a folded wallet looking thing and opened it. It had a picture and a bunch of writing, but it was blurry to Alec. He closed it and put it back, “Are you familiar with the NSA, Mr. Marquez?”

“Uh…like National Security…that NSA?”

“That would be the one.” The man smiled briefly, “We know you’re involved with a Conner Van Owen, is that correct?”

“Is he alright?” Alec felt more than a pang of fear run down his spine.

“We know he’s still in South Africa. There are people from our agency that will be joining him very soon. I’m here to ask you a few questions, if you wouldn’t mind.”

“Is he alright?” Alec asked again.

“Why don’t you sit down. You don’t look very well, Mr. Marquez.”

“Please, tell me, is he alright?” Alec slowly sat on the couch, but just on the edge of the cushion.

“He’s with the Port Elizabeth Police right now.”

“What happened?” Alec asked. His eyes welling.

“I’m afraid I can’t discuss the details with you.” Dobbins said.

“Please…can you just tell me if he’s okay?” Alec said with a faltering voice. Tears were dropping from his eyes.

“The last report I heard, he was fine. A little shaken, but fine. Have you tried to get a hold of him?”

“Mister Alec, may I get you anything?” Madame Julienne appeared without making a sound as she usually does. Alec looked up with hearing her voice and she saw the tears, “Oh, my heavens, what has happened?” She asked as she sat down next to him, putting an arm around his shoulders.

“It’s Conner.” Alec said and dropped more tears as he hung his head.

“What?” She asked and looked at the man. He sat on the low table in front of Alec.

“Mr. Marquez, I’m sure he’s going to be alright. I need to ask, when was the last time you spoke with him?”

“Uh…a couple of days ago on the phone. But we’ve been texting each other on and off.” Alec said as he lifted his head to look at Dobbins.

“Did he say anything about what’s going on where he is?”

“No, not really. We’ve been mostly just talking about us. You’re sure he’s alright?”

“Did he leave any paperwork or anything here before he left for South Africa?” Dobbins asked.

“No. He came back from Switzerland, from his office there after closing it down. He had his case with him, it has his laptop in it. It’s always with him. He was here for a day before he left to go there to South Africa.”

“I understand that this house is owned by his parents through JBL Corporation, is that correct?”

“Yes, it is.” Madame Julienne said.

“And how are you connected with all this?” Dobbins asked her.

“I caretake this place. My husband and I, before he passed.”

“I’m sorry.” Dobbins said.

“Thank you.” She said and leaned her head against Alec’s. He squeezed her hand and dropped more tears.

“You two seem very close.” Dobbins said.

“Mister Alec and I have developed a special relationship. He has…become like one of my sons to me.” She said with a hint of pride in her voice. Alec smiled and lifted his head. She kissed his cheek and he squeezed her hand again.

“I see.” Dobbins said, “Mr. Marquez, are you sure he didn’t leave anything?”

“I guess you could have a look in the study if you want. He does work in there when he’s here.” Alec said.

“I can show you the way.” She said to the man, then looked at Alec, “Then I will make you some nice tea. It will help with your head as well.” Madame Julienne said to Alec. She rose up off the couch as did Dobbins off the table, “Right this way.” She said softly and they left Alec alone. He heard it, the ringtone of his phone and his eyes went wide. He jumped up and ran for the stairs. He raced as fast as he could and jumped for the bed. He snatched up the phone but didn’t look to see who it was, he assumed it was Conner.

“Are you alright?” Alec asked out of breath.

“Alec?”

“Yes?” He asked in reply slowly as he didn’t recognize the deep voice.

“Are you alright?” The deep voice asked.

“Yes. Who is this?” Alec asked guardedly.

“Clayton Van Owen.”

“Oh god, Mr. Van Owen.” Alec exhaled, “I was hoping you were Conner.”

“I just spoke with Conner, he’s fine, Alec.”

“Oh thank god.” Alec whispered.

“Alec, listen to me, listen very carefully. Is there anyone in the house with you?”

“Yes. A man…a man from the NSA is here.”

“Are you sure he’s from the NSA?”

“That’s what he said. Mr. Van Owen, what’s going on?”

“Have you seen Jean-Pierre?”

“Not for a couple of days.”

“Go outside, right now, Alec. Get out of the house, Jean-Pierre should be there. He’ll get you to safety.” The deep voice said softly.

“Mr. Van Owen?” Alec said softly into the phone after he slowly turned around, going wide eyed.

“Wow, this is incredible. You got it all finished.” Campbell said as he stepped into the studio and looked around. Aiden stepped near him as Derrick and Ty came in as well, “Jesus, this nicer than my house.”

“Thank you.” Derrick said, “Ty did it all.” Campbell turned and looked at Ty.

“Clear your schedule, buddy, because I need you to do a remodel for me.” Campbell said with wide eyes as he looked all around, and then focused directly on Aiden, “Okay, this is how it’s going to work. You need to move out, because I’m moving in, so pack your bags.”

“Sorry, I got here first.” Aiden said and blushed. Everyone laughed and Ty put an arm around Aiden’s shoulders giving him a squeeze.

“This place is absolutely gorgeous. You’re the luckiest guy I’ve ever met, Aiden.” Campbell said and looked at Derrick, “So, you maybe want to adopt someone else?”

“Sorry, plate’s pretty full right now.” Derrick smiled.

“Damn, just my luck.” Campbell said and smiled, “Well, I can scratch this off my report. Is there room service that comes with this too?”

“You know there is, the best in town, too. Derrick keeps his little twink slave boys in the closet until he needs them to serve.” Ty said.

“Oh my god, Ty.” Derrick said and rolled his eyes. Everyone laughed.

“Well, I can see you’re in good hands here, Aiden. A beautiful place of your own, a very loving home. I’d never leave.”

“You should see the bathroom over there.” Ty said, “Aiden actually helped build it.”

“Did you now?” Campbell asked. Aiden nodded and smiled, “Let me have a look then.” He walked over and turned on the light and looked in, “Wow, that’s nice. I love all the stone work on the walls. What about hot water?”

“It has its own heater on the wall outside. It’s tankless. As long as you’ve got water and gas, you’ve got hot water.” Ty said, “Derrick’s idea.”

“Awesome, simply awesome.” Campbell said as he came back toward them, “And it’s so neat and clean too.”

“Aiden’s a clean freak.” Ty said.

“We could do with more of that around here, you know.” Derrick said and bumped Ty with an elbow, “Maybe he can give you lessons.”

“Doubt it.” Ty said bugging his eyes a bit at Derrick.

“Well, I have to get back into the house. Dinner needs to come out of the oven. Would you care to stay Officer Campbell?” Derrick asked.

“David, please. Thanks, but I have to get back to the station and write my reports up. I’ll take a rain check though.” Campbell said.

“Anytime.” Derrick said. He put out a hand and Campbell took it and gave it good shake, “Thanks for what you’ve done.”

“My pleasure.” Campbell said.

“I’ll see you guys inside.” Derrick said and walked out of the studio.

“Well, thanks for the tour, Aiden. Like I said, you’re a lucky guy.” Campbell said with a smile.

“I’m beginning to think so too.” Aiden said softly.

“Why don’t you walk me out?” Campbell asked Aiden, who smiled and nodded. He looked at Ty and put out his hand toward him, Ty took it, “Glad everything worked out for the best with all of this.”

“So am I.” Ty said and let the hand go. They all walked out of the studio together, “Thanks again for what you did, not just for me, but for the boys. It means a lot.”

“You’re very welcome. It was good to see you again.”

“Same here. Don’t be a stranger.” Ty said.

“I’ll try not to be.” Campbell said and gave Ty a nod. He and Aiden walked toward the driveway, “You know, I envy you.”

“How come?” Aiden asked as they walked slowly side by side.

“You have people here that love you, that want to help you, I can see that. Things like that just make good people better.” Campbell said.

“Don’t you have anyone that loves you?” Aiden asked.

“No, not anymore. But one day, I hope there will be. It gives me something to look forward to.” Campbell smiled as they reached his patrol car. He unlocked it and opened the passenger side door. He reached in and then straightened, turned and looked at Aiden, “Here’s my card. I want you to keep it, and if you need anything, anything at all, just give me a call. If I can help out, I will.”

“Thank you.” Aiden said as he looked at it, then slide it into his pocket, looking at Campbell, “I’ve never really just talked to a police officer before.”

“We’re no different than anybody else, bud, not really. We’re all human.”

“Uncle T said you were a nice guy, and he was right. I liked talking to you. You made me feel good.” Aiden said. Campbell stuck out his hand. Aiden took it in his.

“That’s what I’m supposed to do.”

“Part of your job?”

“No, because it’s the right thing to do. Always remember that, Aiden, do the right thing.”

“I’ll remember.”

“Because I’m sure that’s what you always do.” Campbell said with a bit of a smirk.

“I try.”

“I know, it shows.” Campbell said and smiled warmly. He closed the door and went around to the driver side, unlocking it and getting in. He started the patrol car and backed out. Aiden waved as he drove away. He turned and went up on the front porch, going in the front door.

“Well, he seems rather taken with you.” Ty said as he picked up his empty wine glass from the coffee table.

“What do you mean?” Aiden asked.

“Aid, come on, the guy’s hot. I think he might like you.” Ty smiled.

“What, no…really?” Aiden looked stunned. Ty just raised an eyebrow and walked toward the kitchen, Aiden followed him.

“What did he say? Ty asked as he poured a little wine in his glass as Derrick was finishing dinner for them.

“He…said…that I had people all around me that loved me and wanted to help me. He said he could see that.”

“Well, that’s true.” Ty said, “What else?”

“Uh…always make sure to do the right thing.” Aiden said.

“Words to live by.” Derrick said as he plated up for everyone.

“How old do you think he is, babe?” Ty asked Derrick.

“Got to be early twenties.” Derrick said.

“What?” Aiden asked.

“I kind of thought so too. Nice young tight butt like that, yeah…got to be early twenties.”

“But he’s a cop.” Aiden said.

“So?” Ty asked.

“I’m an architect. He’s a carpenter.” Derrick said pointing to himself, then at Ty.

“And you’re working to be a plumber.” Ty said.

“Not forever.” Aiden said softly. Derrick looked up at hearing him.

“Let’s sit at the table tonight and eat.” Derrick said. He carried plates around the counter and went across the kitchen.

Alec’s eyes were wide. He slowly lowered the phone from his ear and couldn’t speak. He was given a wink, a wink of reassurance, and Alec watched as the left index finger was raised to the lips to show him to be quiet. But what shocked Alec the most was what was in the right hand, a black pistol. The kind that Alec had seen in almost every modern shoot-em up movie ever made. Jean-Pierre was looking through the crack of the bedroom door at the jamb and had a view of the entire upper landing. He turned his head, signaled Alec to come to him with his left index finger. Alec swallowed hard and stepped forward to come next to him.

“They are downstairs talking.” Jean-Pierre whispered in Alec’s ear, “I want you to go down there with them, act naturally as if there is nothing wrong. Can you do that?” Alec nodded slowly in silent reply, “Play with your phone like you are using it as you go down.”

“What is going on?” Alec whispered, still with wide fearful eyes.

“I will tell you after he leaves.” Jean-Pierre whispered.

“Mr. Van Owen said to…”

“I know what he said, but you are safer in the house right now. We need to get rid of him without making him suspicious.” Jean-Pierre whispered, “Answer his questions if he has any, and then he will leave. I will be right here if anything happens. Do not worry, and act naturally.”

“I’m scared to death.” Alec whispered.

“Good.” Jean-Pierre whispered and flashed his eyes, “Now go.” Alec took in a deep breath and walked out, going down the stairs, looking at the messages in his text log to Conner.

“There you are, Mister Alec.” Madame Julienne said.

“I’m sorry, I had to use the bathroom and I forgot my phone.” Alec said as he looked at her. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she knew that he had used the bathroom before he came down the first time.

“Feeling better, Mr. Marquez?” Dobbins asked.

“A little, thanks.” Alec said as he scrolled his thumb. He looked up at the man, “Did you find anything?”

“I’m afraid not.” Dobbins said as he watched Alec thumbing his phone, “Are you texting someone?”

“No, I’m just going through the texts that I have from Conner. There’s really nothing here that he says about anything going on where he’s at, it’s just stuff about us.” Alec said.

“I see. That’s too bad.”

“What is it you’re looking for, Mr. Dobbins?” Alec asked.

“I can’t go into details, Mr. Marquez.”

“Yeah, national security, I’ve heard the line before.” Alec said and Dobbins looked at him questioningly, “Too many movies.”

“Ah, yes, that would do it I suppose.” Dobbins said, “Well, you have both been very helpful, thank you.”

“I will see you out.” Madame Julienne said and walked toward the foyer. Dobbins nodded toward Alec.

“Mr. Marquez.” Dobbins said as he walked by Alec, Alec followed him with his eyes only and let out a breath when he saw her return. He turned his head and looked up at the top of the stairs.

“He is gone.” She said firmly toward the empty landing at the top of the stairs. Alec’s eyes went wide as he looked at her. Jean-Pierre came out putting the pistol away under his jacket. As he came down the stairs quickly, his long black trench coat flowed almost like a cape. He and Madame Julienne were speaking French so rapidly to each other, Alec couldn’t catch any of it. He was so stunned by it all. His phone rang. He swiped it without looking and put it to his ear.

“Are you okay, babe?” Alec broke down and sobbed when he heard the voice.

“Yes.” Alec whispered.

“I’m on my way. I’m at the airport now.”

“What?”

“I’m coming, babe. I’m coming to get you.”

“I want to go home.” Alec whispered.

“So do I, babe. I told you, whatever you want. I’ve got to go though, I’ll see you as soon as I can.” Conner said and Alec dropped another tear hearing him and lowered the phone.

“Let me ask you a question, Aiden.” Derrick said as they sat around the end of the table starting to eat their dinner. Derrick gave Aiden a little bit of a soft look, “Have you thought about what you would like to do after you get out of high school?”

“Yeah.” Aiden said as he looked at Derrick.

“What would that be?” Derrick asked before he lifted his fork. He took a bite.

“I don’t know if it could happen or not.” Aiden said.

“A lot of things are possible. You really don’t know until you try.” Derrick said setting his fork down, then picked up his wine glass.

“I guess so.” Aiden said as he looked at Derrick.

“So out of curiosity, what would you like to do?”

“Well…I have always liked to just make things, you know, like build stuff.” Aiden said.

“What, like houses or buildings, stuff like that?” Ty asked.

“No, not like that, like machines. Do you know what robotics is?” Aiden asked. Derrick smiled, Ty was just looking at Aiden, “We took a field trip at school for my science class two years ago, my sophomore year. We went to this place just outside the city. They have all kinds of robots that are on these tracks in this big building that make stuff.”

“It’s called an assembly line.” Derrick said, “You went to Croft Manufacturing.”

“You know the place?” Aiden asked with surprise.

“Yeah, I know the place.” Derrick said and sipped his wine.

“How?” Aiden asked.

“My firm designed their office building. Did you see it?” Derrick asked. Aiden nodded.

“Yeah, the big glass building?”

“Yes.” Derrick said, “I know the owner, Stanley Croft, pretty well. He’s a very nice guy.” Derrick said.

“Of course you do.” Ty said, rolling his eyes. Derrick chuckled at him and then looked at Aiden.

“On your field trip, did they show you much of what goes on in that glass building?” Derrick asked and Aiden shook his head.

“Not too much. They focused mostly on the big building and what the robots were doing. We weren’t there for very long.” Aiden said.

“I could call Stanley and see about a private tour, if you’re interested.” Derrick said. Aiden’s eyes bugged.

“Are you serious?”

“Very serious. It’s not a guarantee, but like I said, you never know unless you try.” Derrick said.

“That would be so awesome, thanks.” Aiden said and was excited.

“I’ll give him a call tomorrow and let you know what he says.” Derrick said.

“This is so nice of you.” Aiden said.

“It’s really nothing, just a phone call.” Derrick said with a wide smile, “Eat your dinner.” Derrick said softly. He looked over at Ty with a bit of a side glance, “So, I noticed that big new truck you’re driving.”

“Yeah.” Ty said, “Sam told me it was my new office this morning when he handed me the keys.”

“Is it new, new?” Derrick asked, “Because it looks it.”

“It’s brand new. Has just under three hundred miles on it.” Ty said.

“That’s awesome.” Aiden said.

“It’s got everything on it too, cool stereo, four-wheel drive, something called Bluetooth, whatever that is. Mike was showing it all to me all day long when we were going from job to job. I don’t think I’ll ever use half of what its got.” Ty said.

“Wow.” Derrick said as he took a bite.

“You know this is really awesome, Derrick.” Aiden said as he shoveled in his dinner.

“Slow down and chew and you might enjoy it more.” Derrick chuckled and raised his eyebrows once.

“Sorry.” Aiden said.

“No need to hurry, buddy. And there’s plenty more, too.” Derrick said.

“Could you really teach me to cook like this?” Aiden asked.

“Well I did tell you that I would, if you want. And I think I also told you that it is another way to keep a guy around.” Derrick smiled, Aiden blushed, and Ty groaned, “But the real cook that you could learn from is Alec, that boy can cook.”

“Conner’s boyfriend?” Aiden asked. Derrick nodded, “He’s seems like a nice guy.”

“Just watch his hands when he cooks.” Ty said.

“Why?” Aiden asked.

“Because sometimes they wander.” Ty said and flashed his eyes.

“Oh knock it off.” Derrick said with a smirk.

“Why do you have a gun?” Alec asked as Jean-Pierre came back by him from checking the front of the house. He stopped and came over to Alec, putting his hands on Alec’s shoulders, looking him in the eye. Madame Julienne was standing quietly behind Alec by a few feet.

“Are you alright now?” Jean-Pierre asked softly. His dark good looks softened as he guided Alec slowly to the couch, backing him up. Alec sat down and Jean-Pierre knelt in front of him as Alec came to rest. Alec nodded slowly, “Good. You’re not scared any longer, are you?” Alec shook his head, “Alright.” Jean- Pierre said with a soft tone to his voice along with his Parisian accent, “I am in charge of security for Mr. Van Owen’s company here in France. Part of my job is to make sure that those in this house are safe, and with that, I have to carry a gun.”

“Were you going to shoot that man from the NSA?” Alec asked.

“He’s not with the NSA, Alec.”

“But he said…he showed me his ID.”

“I know what he said, and those credentials of his were fake. You have to believe me.”

“Then who was he?”

“Has Conner ever mentioned to you a man by the name of Hiram Platt or another man named Phillip Esterra?” Jean-Pierre asked softly. Alec shook his head.

“No. Who are they?”

“Competitors of Mr. Van Owen’s. Those two men are involved in trying to steal something away from the United States government. They’re also involved with terrorists.”

“And that man was…?”

“That man that was here, works for Platt and Esterra. He was looking for information, hoping there was something here regarding what they’re trying to steal from your government.”

“What are they trying to steal?” Alec asked.

“Parts that can be used to make nuclear bombs, what they call ‘dirty bombs’.” Jean-Pierre said, “They want to sell them to the terrorists.”

“Holy shit.” Alec said softly, “And Conner…?”

“Conner walked into the middle of it in South Africa. He didn’t know anything about this at all.” Jean-Pierre said softly, “He’s lucky. They might have killed him.”

“What?” Alec asked with fear on his face.

“Your government has stepped in very quickly. He’s safe, Alec.”

“I know. I was just talking to him.”

“They have him on a private jet right now and will be bringing him here.”

“What about that man?”

“He’ll be stopped very soon.” Jean-Pierre said softly. Madame Julienne came close to the end of the couch, Alec looked up at her.

“How did you know Jean-Pierre was upstairs?” Alec asked.

“I had a suspicion he was.” She said in her soft voice, “I will go and see about Chevelle and the children.”

“No, I will do it.” Jean-Pierre said as he rose to his feet, “Stay in the house. Do not let anyone in until I return. The front door is bolted. There are agents from the Directorate that are coming.”

“Who’s that?” Alec asked.

“French Intelligence.” Jean-Pierre said.

“Why?”

“They will want to confirm with you and Julienne who that man really is.” Jean-Pierre said. He put a hand on Alec’s shoulder, squeezing gently, “I know this is a bit much, but it will be alright, believe me.” He took his hand away, “I will return quickly.”

“Bring them back with you, just in case. They shouldn’t be out there alone.” Alec said and stood.

“Alright.” Jean-Pierre said with a nod, then walked quickly away. Alec and Madam Julienne just looked at each other for a long moment.

“You knew, didn’t you?” Alec asked.

“As I said, I had a suspicion.”

“That’s not what I meant. You knew about him, about him being security, not just a driver.” Alec said, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“There was no reason, as there was no danger. Not until that man came to the door.”

“Do you think we were in danger?” Alec asked.

“Yes, I do.” She said in her soft voice, and Alec shook, but she was so calm about it. Thoughts raced through Alec’s mind a mile a minute. This could have turned out really bad he thought.

“He was right, this is a bit much.” Alec said softly.

“Let us go make some tea. It will calm you.”

Aiden was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner. He had insisted and Derrick relented finally and let him go at it. Derrick and Ty went into the living room and sat down on the couch to relax and talk some more.

“Hey, I wanted to say, I’m sorry.” Ty said.

“What for?” Derrick asked softly.

“For talking the way I did when I came in the door. It was just a bitch of a day.” Ty said as he looked at Derrick.

“Forget it, babe. We all have bad days from time to time and from what I heard, it’s totally understandable.” Derrick said, “You still look tense, are you okay?”

“Yeah.” Ty said with an exhale, “I’m just still wound up a little I guess.”

“Okay. What do you want to do about it?”

“Not what you’re thinking.” Ty said and chuckled. Derrick faked looking hurt with a pout.

“I don’t always think about sex, you know.”

“Yes, you do.” Ty smiled, “Because…I do.” He wiggled his eyebrows a little, “No, I was thinking about going to the gym. I’ve haven’t been in a while. Do you want to go with me?”

“Where, to that meat factory you took me to the last time?” Derrick asked.

“It wasn’t that bad.”

“Well, as I remember, some of those guys were really big and hot.” Derrick said and looked at the ceiling, “Sure, why not?”

“You could flash that new beard of yours for them.” Ty said. Derrick sat there and looked at him for a moment.

“What do you think about it? You haven’t said anything about it until now.”

“It just makes you look even hotter.” Ty said and leaned in. He kissed Derrick tenderly, “I can’t wait to have it tickle my ass when you eat me out.”

“Sure you want to go to the gym?” Derrick asked and then kissed Ty again.

“Yeah, just to be able to show you off.”

“Will you be able to defend me if they want to drag me away with them?” Derrick asked as he nuzzled Ty’s ear.

“You know I will.” Ty whispered then moaned softly.

“Oh…sorry.” Aiden said, stopping in his tracks. Derrick pulled back from Ty. They both looked in Aiden’s direction.

“No, it’s alright, bud.” Derrick said, sitting back against the arm of the couch.

“Uh, kitchen’s clean…I was gonna just go and…”

“Thanks for doing that, bud, I really appreciate it.” Derrick said with a smile.

“Did you scrub the floor, the walls?” Ty asked, “The ceiling needs to be scrubbed too.” Derrick smacked him hard, “Ow.”

“Leave him alone.” Derrick said. Aiden laughed.

“You so had that coming, Uncle T.” Aiden said.

“Ya think so?” Ty asked.

“Ty wants to go to the gym. I’m going to go with him. You going to be alright here for a while?” Derrick asked as he got up off the couch.

“Yeah…guess I’ll watch some TV or something for a bit.” Aiden said.

“Sounds kind of boring to me.” Ty said as he got up off the couch, “Especially since you’ve got two hot guys after you.”

“I don’t have two hot guys.” Aiden said. Ty walked by him going toward the bedroom.

“Really, you got more than that?” Ty asked with a playful surprised look on his face. Aiden gave him a frown.

“We won’t be gone long.” Derrick said as he walked by Aiden following Ty, “Just no wild parties, okay?” Derrick winked, Aiden smiled and nodded.

Alec stood next to the sink in the kitchen, Madame Julienne by his side as she filled the kettle with water. He was looking out the window lost in thought as he watched the evening slowly settling in. Conner was coming back and Alec was happy, very happy to know he would be here in a few hours, not knowing exactly when for sure. There was all of this other stuff that was going on. And Alec was worried about that as well. And there was the call from Conner’s dad. He had called him once before, to tell Alec where Conner was staying at, that hotel when they had split up for that week, that week of hell. Alec just shook his head as he stared out the window. He felt something though, like somebody was staring at him. He turned and looked down. Eadric was standing there staring up at Alec.

“Hey, buddy.” Alec said softly. Eadric looked so sad to Alec, but also like he wanted to say something but didn’t know how. Alec turned to face him and knelt on one knee. Eadric came forward a step and put out his little arms and fell into Alec, “How you doin’, buddy?” Alec asked as he wrapped his arms around the small boy.

“Okay.” Eadric said in his soft little voice, “My daddy’s gone away.” Eadric whispered.

“I know. I’m sorry. But, he’s gonna come back, you know?” Alec asked as he rubbed the little back with a hand. Eadric just nodded on Alec’s shoulder, “It’s gonna be okay, buddy.”

“Can I sleep in your bed tonight again?” Eadric asked softly. Alec lifted his eyes, Madame Julienne was standing right there. She put a hand on the boy’s head and stroked his soft hair, smiling at Alec and then nodded.

“If it’s alright with your mom, sure.”

“Sophie too?” Eadric asked.

“Sure, why not. But only if your mom says it’s alright.” Alec said. He hugged a little tighter on the boy and then let him go. Eadric left his hands on Alec’s shoulders and looked at him then smiled. Alec smiled as well hearing a little growl in Eadric’s tummy, “You getting hungry?” Alec asked. Eadric nodded, “Okay, how about some eggs?”

“Scambled?”

“You mean scrambled?” Alec asked with a smile and got a nod, “Sure.”

“Hey, what are you doing?” Greg asked into the phone.

“Not much. Wanted to give you a call and just say hi.” Aiden said into his own phone as he was sitting on the bed in the studio.

“Cool.”

“What did you do today?” Aiden asked.

“Met up with some of the guys on the team. We had a little practice this afternoon, just a few of us. It was kinda cool. How was work with your uncle?”

“It was alright.”

“What’s wrong?” Greg asked.

“My uncle wanted to talk to me today. He wanted to know about what happened at my mom’s.”

“You told him, right?” Greg asked.

“Yeah, but he got really pissed off when I told him everything.”

“I thought your brother told him everything already, that’s what you said.” Greg said.

“Yeah…uh…I didn’t tell you everything either, how it really happened.”

“Whoa, what? We talked about that. I remember.” Greg said.

“Yeah, we did. But…I left out some of it.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know. I was kind of embarrassed about it, and scared to.” Aiden said softly and there was a long pause between them.

“You gonna tell me?” Greg asked, “Wait, why would you be scared to tell me?” There was another long pause between them, “Aiden?”

“Look, forget I said anything, okay?” Aiden sighed.

“Don’t leave me hangin’, dude. What’s going on?” Greg asked.

“We can talk about it later. I’m sorry.” Aiden said.

“There you go again.”

“What?” Aiden asked.

“Dude, you’re always saying that you’re sorry. You don’t need to be.” Greg said and then thought, “Wait, you’re not sorry about last night, are you?”

“What? God, no. Last night was awesome, I loved it, and so was this morning.” Aiden said smiling with the memory of it all flashing through his mind.

“I loved it too.” Greg said, “Makes me horny just thinking about it.”

“Oh yeah?” Aiden asked with a wider smile, “Wish you could come over.”

“Yeah, me too.”

“If you could, I’d love to do more things to you than what we did last night.”

“Really? Like what?” Greg asked and sounded like he was panting.

“Like I told you last night, I can’t tell you, I have to show you.” Aiden said in almost a whisper.

“Killin me, dude. You’re leaving me hangin’.”

“You hang already.” Aiden said and chuckled into the phone. Greg laughed.

“So wrong.”

“So true.” Aiden said and laughed.

“Yeah…I guess.” Greg said above a whisper, “Hey, I miss you, dude.”

“I miss you too.” Aiden said softly, “Oh, shit. I almost forgot. Do you know what happened this morning?” Aiden said in a loud voice.

“You mean…when you jerked me off?” Greg asked still almost panting.

“No, before that.”

“No, what happened?”

“My uncle came in to wake me up. He took a picture of us…naked…in bed.”

“No fuckin way.” Greg said with an exhale, “Did he really?”

“Yeah, he sent it to me, too. I’ve got it on my phone.”

“Dude, I want to see it. Is it hot?” Greg asked with a husky voice.

“Yeah, really hot. I’ve been lookin at.”

“Send it to me.”

“What about your mom? She goes through your phone.” Aiden said.

“I’ll delete it.” Greg said quickly.

“No you won’t. I know you, you’ll forget.”

“I gotta see it.”

“Go in the bathroom, drop your pants, and look at your ass in the mirror. That’s what’s in the picture.”

“It’s not the same thing, dude, and you know it.” Greg said with an almost growl.

“I’m not sending it to you.”

“Aid, come on.” Greg sounded like he was whining.

“When we get together again, you can see it then.”

“Dude, why are you doing this to me? I’m so fucking horny right now. You’ve got me all boned up.” Greg said. Aiden smiled and then chuckled.

“Good. Makes you want me more.” Aiden said.

“You’re such a tease. I’m coming over…right now.”

“You can’t. What are you gonna tell your parents?”

“I don’t know, I’ll think of something.” Greg said.

“What? Wait…” Aiden said but the call ended. He lowered the phone and shook his head.

“Twenty-four…twenty-five…twenty-six…” Derrick counted out loud slowly as Ty was bench pressing the free weights on the bench, “How many more times are you going to bench the weight of your truck, babe?” Ty grunted and clanged the bar with weights into their cradles and then groaned loudly, “So, I guess you’re done, huh?” Derrick asked as Ty was panting on his back, sweat pouring off him, “Making me look bad, you know that, right?”

“Told you I needed to work off some energy.” Ty panted as he sat up, his face was red from straining.

“Well, there’s working off energy…then there’s…frustration.”

“Ty, I’ve told you before about lifting that much all at once. It’s dangerous, man.” The voice said next to Derrick, that came out of nowhere. Derrick looked over and Ty looked up.

“Rico.” Ty said.

“What are doing, going for Olympic gold or just trying to kill yourself?” The incredibly good-looking man said. Derrick looked him up and down quickly. He was built, yes, but not hulking like some of the other guys working out here, muscular and just beautifully defined. He wore compression shorts that showed a nice bulge and a loose hanging cropped beater. He had short black hair, tanned skin, sporting a tight trimmed goatee, “I don’t want anybody to get hurt here. Quit being stupid.”

“Hi, I’m Derrick.” Derrick said, holding out his hand. Rico looked at Derrick, who had Rico by a half a head in height.

“Rico Santiago.” He said as he took Derrick’s hand, giving it an almost crushing grip, then let it go.

“Rico owns this…establishment.” Ty said getting his breathing under control.

“Yeah, and you also remembered what I said to you too about being nice, didn’t you?” Rico asked.

“You guys obviously know each other pretty good.” Derrick said.

“I’ve had to kick his ass a couple of times.” Rico said as he gave Derrick a side glance while still glaring slightly at Ty.

“I know that one, it’s almost daily for me.” Derrick said and Rico looked at him fully.

“You guys dating or something?” Rico asked softly. Derrick held up his left hand and showed his ring, “Holy shit.” Rico said softly and Ty cleared his throat. Rico looked back at Ty and cocked his head a little, “You found somebody that would put up with you finally?” Rico asked as he looked down and saw Ty’s ring as well.

“What am I missing here?” Derrick asked.

“Uh…Rico and I used to date.” Ty said sheepishly.

“Really?” Derrick asked with a smirk.

“Is that what you would call it, really?” Rico asked Ty, then looked at Derrick, “We used to live together for a while.”

“Interesting.” Derrick said.

“Yeah, we can talk about that another time.” Ty said getting to his feet.

“I think I might like to hear about this.” Derrick said.

“I think we should probably head home.” Ty said.

“I haven’t done my full sets yet.” Derrick said.

“I hope I’m not making you uncomfortable, am I?” Rico asked Derrick. Derrick smiled.

“Not at all.” Derrick said, “Actually, Ty’s met one of my ex’s so, I think it’s fine and makes us even.”

“Oh, interesting. How did that go?” Rico asked as he focused on Derrick fully.

“You know, I’m standing right here, right?” Ty asked. Derrick looked at him and gave him a wink.

“Maybe we should have a talk, you know, about different things and stuff.” Derrick said.

“Yeah, I’d like that. Maybe we could get a drink sometime?” Rico asked.

“Yeah…that’s not gonna happen.” Ty said, putting a hand on Rico’s shoulder and gently pushed him back as he stepped in between he and Derrick, “There will be no note comparing or any of that shit from either of you.” Derrick laughed and so did Rico. Ty thought about it for a second and then snapped his fingers, “Hey, seriously, are you dating anyone right now?”

“Why? Are you offering with your husband standing right there?” Rico asked with a raised eyebrow.

“No, smartass, I’m just asking a question.” Ty said. Rico gave him a bit of a scowl.

“No, I’m not. You not thinking about trying to fix me up or something, are you?” Rico asked.

“Are you?” Derrick asked. Ty looked at him and bugged his eyes a little, “With who?”

“Dave Campbell.”

“Seriously?” Derrick asked.

“Why not?” Ty asked, “They’d be hot together.”

“Who’s Dave Campbell?” Rico asked.

“Only the hottest cop I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s got the tightest ass, you’d love it.” Ty said.

“A cop?” Rico asked with a frown and another raised eyebrow.

“He is a really nice guy.” Derrick said to Rico.

“You should really meet him, Rico. I think you’d like him.” Ty said, “And who knows, you might get even be able to get laid.”

“You’re a dick.” Rico said, “I don’t know why I don’t revoke your membership here.” Derrick laughed and shook his head. Rico rolled his eyes.

“We’ll get it arranged. I’ll give you a call.” Ty said.

“I didn’t say yes yet.” Rico said.

“You will, I know you, remember?” Ty asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Such a dick.” Rico mumbled.

“I don’t know if that’s such a good idea.” Chevelle said to her little son as they were in the kitchen doorway.

“But, Mama, he said it was alright.” Eadric said as he looked up at his mother. She looked over at Alec and her own mother standing at the stove, cooking. Madame Julienne was looking at her daughter and smiled, giving a single nod of approval.

“Mama, I think we have been enough of a burden already.” Chevelle said.

“Chevelle, please.” Madame Julienne said in that voice of hers, “You know the children would like to. If Mister Alec has no problem with it, and he says he does not, then perhaps you should allow it. You know they will be sleeping on the floor at my house.”

“What?” Alec said as he stirred the eggs. He looked up from the pan and then over to Chevelle, “You can’t let them sleep on the floor. At least let them take the spare room then. Where will you be sleeping?”

“I have a very comfortable sofa.” Madame Julienne said rather proudly as she looked down at the stove, “It is a bit small, but as I said, it is comfortable.”

“I thought you said that everyone would be alright in your house. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t sound that way to me.” Alec said as he looked back at the stove and the eggs.

“Mama…?” Chevelle said.

“Can we, please?” Eadric asked. Chevelle sighed and hung her head a bit.

“I can never win.”

“When you’re older, my dear, you will.” Madame Julienne said and gave a small chuckle. Alec smiled broadly as he stirred the eggs, “Those look about done.”

“I think so as well.” Alec said and lifted the large skillet, sliding it off the burner, “I’ll get the plates. Where is Jean-Pierre?”

“He is outside at the front entrance.” Madame Julienne said.

“What’s he doing out there?” Alec asked.

“He is waiting for the men from the Directorate.”

“I almost forgot about them.” Alec said.

“Let us go out on the terrace and we can eat out there. There is a nice breeze this evening.” Madame Julienne said as she turned from the stove with a small pot, “Chevelle, will you take that small platter out for me, please?”

“Yes, Mama.” Chevelle said as she came toward the counter. Alec was pulling plates from the open shelf, then pulled silver for all of them as well, “What is that, Mama?” She asked nodding toward the little pot.

“A mushroom risotto, Sophie’s favorite.”

“I know she will like it very much.” Chevelle said as she picked up the platter with sliced fruits and cheeses, “This looks very nice as well. Eadric, be a good boy and help Mister Alec, would you?”

“Yes, Mama.” The boy said and came over in front of Alec.

“Here, you can take these for me.” Alec said and handed out the silver to the small hands. Eadric smiled as he took them, “Follow your mom now.” Alec said. He nodded and smiled wider loving to help.

Greg walked around the house as it was dark inside. He knew Aiden must be out in the studio. He walked around the corner of the house and across the yard to the studio. He smiled to himself and thought this would be good and just opened the man door and stepped in. His eyes went wide and he sucked in a breath at what he saw.

“Holy shit. You’re so fuckin hot, dude.” Greg said above a whisper then let his breath out.

“Come in and close the door.” Aiden said, “I didn’t know if you were really coming or not.”

“I’m glad I did.” Greg said as he walked over to the bed. Aiden was on his knees, completely naked in the middle of the bed. He bit his bottom lip and raised a hand up and rubbed his right nipple a little.

“I’m glad, too.” Aiden said, “What’d you tell your mom and dad?”

“That I was going to help out a friend for a while.” Greg said as he came to the bed and started to climb up on it.

“How long is a while?” Aiden asked as he watched Greg slowly crawl toward him.

“I didn’t say.” Greg said as he stopped his crawling.

“Well then let’s not waste time.” Aiden was starting to rise and stiffen, his breathing was getting short. Greg watched as Aiden’s length grew. He licked his lips with the tip of his tongue. He slowly reached up a hand, palm up and rubbed under the growing length.

“So soft…so smooth.” Greg said above a whisper. Aiden moaned softly at being touched. Being together last night had been mostly one sided as Aiden did most of everything, “It’s my turn tonight.” Greg said as he lifted his eyes and looked into Aiden’s, “You did everything to me last night, and now, I’m gonna do it to you. I thought about it all day long, what I could do to you, what I want to do to you.”

“You don’t have to.” Aiden whispered as he was being tickled.

“But I want to. You’re so, so sexy. You make me so hard when I think about you.” Greg whispered.

“I do?” Aiden panted.

“Yeah, you do.” Greg whispered and focused on what was near his face, looking it, wanting it, “It makes me want to do this.” He opened his mouth and swallowed as much of the hard length he could and wrapped his lips around it tight. Aiden let out a long moan and threw his head back as he felt that incredible warm sensation that he had dreamed of for so long. Greg tried to work his tongue a bit but couldn’t. He didn’t want to ruin this for Aiden, didn’t want to disappoint him with his inexperience and focused with everything he had, remembering what Aiden had done to him last night, that one time that was incredible to Greg, unlike anything he had ever felt in his life.

Greg moved his head back and forth slowly as he kept his lips tight around Aiden’s smooth skin, doing his best to please Aiden now, to make him feel as special as Aiden had made him last night. Greg felt fingers go into his hair and hold his head and heard the ragged breathing above him as he moved his mouth back and forth. Greg was afraid at first that he wouldn’t like it, having Aiden in his mouth like this, but he realized that he actually did like it. The sensation of what he was feeling in his mouth, this mixed soft and hard texture of Aiden’s skin and member, yet with it being hard and firm at the same time, and yet, something else at the same time as he pulled back to the broad head, the sensations were confusing but yet wonderful. It was kind of…spongy, the head, and now he was able to use his tongue. He swirled around the tip and tasted something that came from it. He thought it was different, a unique kind of taste and his brain was demanding more of it all of a sudden. ‘Yeah, you have to have more of it.’ He reached up a hand and wrapped his fingers around Aiden’s hanging balls, rubbed them, making Aiden moan even more and making those fingers grip Greg’s hair a bit tighter.

“Yes…fuck yes.” Aiden said in between breaths he was panting out, “So fuckin good.” Words that Greg had cried out last night over and over as Aiden pleasured him. Now hearing Aiden, Greg knew he was doing it right and it made his chest pound even more.

Derrick was quiet as he unlocked the car. Ty kept giving him glances as he opened his own door and climbed in. Derrick started the car, looked around and backed out of the space. He went across the parking lot and pulled out into the street. He stopped at the corner at the first light but didn’t say anything. He saw out of the corner of his eye, Ty drumming his fingers on his own bare knee. He smiled to himself. The light changed, Derrick pulled out into the intersection and started going, shifting gears as it became necessary traveling down the street.

“So…that was kind of awkward.” Ty finally said.

“Why is that?” Derrick asked.

“Uh…isn’t it kind of obvious?”

“No, I don’t think so.” Derrick said as he focused on his driving.

“Are you serious?”

“Babe, I think you’re the one that is having a problem with this, I’m not.”

“I didn’t know he was going to be there.”

“Well, he does own the place, doesn’t he?” Derrick asked.

“Yeah, but he’s usually only there during the day, never at night. That’s why I go there at night.”

“You’re trying to avoid him.” Derrick said.

“Well…yeah.”

“Look…I don’t have a problem with him. He seems like a nice guy.”

“He is.” Ty said softly.

“So, I don’t want to drag up ancient history…”

“But you want to know, don’t you?” Ty asked.

“You don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to. The last thing that I want is for you to talk about something that makes you uncomfortable. I mean, I’ll come right out and say it, and it’s the truth. I trust you, I trust you completely. I know that I am going to have you in our bed each and every night and don’t have to worry for a second that someone is going to come between us. You’re not that kind of guy.”

“And I know you’re not either.” Ty said.

“Thank you.” Derrick said and looked at Ty for a second, who had been looking at Derrick the entire time. Derrick took Ty’s hand in his and squeezed his fingers tight, “I love you, babe. And I know I will for the rest of my life. You mean everything to me, and I mean everything. Just because we ran into your ex, doesn’t mean that I’m going to blow up and go all jealous and crazy, even if he is incredibly hot.” Derrick said and smiled.

“You’re too much.” Ty said and shook his head.

“He is incredibly hot.”

“Yeah, he is. But, he’s a control freak…and I mean a really big control freak.”

“Is that what happened?” Derrick asked, “Because, I’m one too, you know.”

“Not like him, babe. He takes it to a whole other level. You don’t hold a candle compared to him with that.” Ty said.

“Well, we haven’t been married that long.” Derrick said with a smirk. Ty laughed out loud.

“Just try it, mister.” Ty said and squeezed Derrick’s fingers. He let go as Derrick needed his hand to shift, “I just…I’m sorry…I should have said something, and I didn’t.”

“Well I guess we’re even then.”

“What do you mean?” Ty asked.

“When we went looking for the stone for the studio, I didn’t about tell you about Candice before we walked in there, now did I? I knew full well she was going to be there.”

“No, you didn’t tell me, you’re right. But that’s okay.”

“No, it’s not. That’s the whole point. I should have. I mean even though we weren’t really committed or in a relationship yet, just sleeping together then, I should have. It was only fair.” Derrick said, “And it was wrong of me not to.”

“And this was wrong of me. I should have told you from the first time we went there.”

“Okay so, water under the bridge. We go forward…together.”

“Yeah…together. I like the sound of that.” Ty said.

“Good, get used to it.” Derrick said with a grin, “Now saying that, I was thinking, and this is before Rico came over. We need to go more often, or at least I do.”

“You’re right. I need to get back into it before I get flabby. I think maybe three times a week?” Ty asked.

“We gonna go together?” Derrick asked in reply.

“You think I’m going to that meat factory alone?” Ty asked with a raised eyebrow. Derrick laughed.

“So, what gave you the idea about Dave Campbell?” Derrick asked.

“To be honest, I was watching him with Aiden tonight, and he just seems, I don’t know, kind of a lonely guy. Did you hear what he said to Aiden about when he was a kid?”

“About being on the streets?” Derrick asked, “Yeah, I did. Surprised me actually.”

“Rico’s kind of a self-made guy too. He told me once that he was came from the streets as well.”

“Where’s he from?” Derrick asked.

“San Juan…Puerto Rico.” Ty said.

“What’s he doing here?”

“He has some family here.” Ty said, “They actually helped him to get the gym going.”

“Really?” Derrick asked, “Is that where you met him?”

“Yeah. It was a mistake right from the start.” Ty said, “I knew better. Remember when I said, pretty boys and muscle dudes end badly? Well, there’s a prime example right there.”

“But you also said he was a control freak. You think Campbell can handle that?”

“I think that Dave Campbell can handle just about anything you throw at him.” Ty said and looked at Derrick again, “You should have seen him at Jolene’s. It was incredible. He was so calm and more than just professional.”

“It’s his job, babe. He’s trained to be like that.”

“I’m sure he is, but it was more than just that, too. I don’t know, there’s just something about him that…” Ty let his voice drop off for a long moment as Derrick made another turn, “And as far as Rico is concerned, well, Campbell may be just what he needs to let go of some of his baggage. I couldn’t do it, maybe Campbell can. I’ve never played matchmaker before, but I’ve got a feeling that this right somehow. I don’t know why.”

“Hmmm.” Derrick said, “Maybe we should work on it then.” Derrick gave Ty side glances now and then as they were nearing the house. Derrick slowed down a little as he drove by the neighbors’ house two lots away. Derrick always looked toward the Wilson’s when he drove by, the nice older couple that had referred Ty to him originally. He smiled at the thought of what that referral had brought him. Derrick pulled in the driveway of his house.

“Looks like Greg’s here.” Ty said with a smirk, “Gee…I wonder what they’re doing?” He asked out loud and slowly. Derrick chuckled. All the lights were off in the house, but the porch light was on. Derrick swung into the circular driveway and parked behind Greg’s car, “Maybe we should go around to the back door, just to let them know we’re here.”

“Let’s use the front door and leave them alone, Mr. Perv.” Derrick said as he opened his door to get out.

“There you go again, takin my fun.” Ty grinned as he got out.

“Don’t slam the car door either when you get out.” Derrick said, grinning as well.
