River’s Story

“That one goes on the slab over there, at the far end of the pond” I yelled to the foreman as I pointed to the furthest slab. I yelled loud so he could hear me over the noise of the two loud trucks. The first truck slowly rolled our first cottage to its place while I recorded everything. I don’t know why, but I expected like a semitruck, but they were just big pickups, each one towing a trailer with a cottage on it. The trucks took forever to get there! They made their way through the countryside slowly, led by an SUV with a “wide load” sign on the back of it. We’d been worried that they wouldn’t fit up our narrow drive, but the salesman had come out and measured and said it wouldn’t be a problem. It wasn’t, I was just freaking out over nothin’, and the trucks made their way up our gravel drive.

We’d worked so hard and dreamed about this day… a lot; especially Che. He was stuck at home by himself for a couple of months, staring at the empty slabs around the pond…. He and Mac must’ve walked around that pond a million freaking times while he was healing. He wanted to be there so bad when the houses got delivered, but duty called. He missed a lotta work because of his injuries that was afraid to take any more time off. So, I took the day off and stayed at home with Mac to supervise the set-up of our first two cottages. When we ordered the cottages, the sales team walked us through what would happen… step-by-step, and that’s pretty much exactly how things went down. The trucks came with the cottages on trailers, one by one they lowered the beds and lowered them onto the cement slabs, then went to work making the little houses permanent by securing them in place and hooking up the water and electric. Che had researched the hell outta everything during his downtime. He made sure all the permits were pulled, and all the hookups were in place and ready to go. He poured his soul into it… it was a good diversion from his injuries. I sure as fuck wouldn’t have been able to pull off what he did.

Che handled getting the cottages, my job was to fill the two units with everything from furniture down to toilet paper holders. I had a lot of fun picking stuff out and ordering it. We had a strict budget and I had spread out my purchases over a coupla’ months paying stuff off as we went. We had done a good job of staying out of debt during this project (the rent from Uncle River’s land was being put to good use). It was a Wednesday, and the furniture was going to be delivered over the weekend, and we had our place (and Seth and Zach’s barn) loaded with boxes of stuff. I was excited to turn the two little shed-like cottages into cool little rentals.

The crew was still hard at work, and I had just finished recording when I heard the crunch of gravel behind me, Mac was already running to greet Che’s police SUV Cruiser before I even turned around to see him.

“Damn, dis is awesome” Che said under his breath as he got out of his cruiser. he was in full uniform and looked hot as hell! His eyes were wide, and he was unable to contain the massive smile on his face. It was like the reality of it all had mesmerized him. “We did dis, Riv. It was our idea... we made it happen. None a’ dis was here before.” Then before I could even respond he went off on a rant, “Shit, we could put like four or five more out here, easy! Like two more on the pond, maybe even three if we put ‘em closer together over there. N’ a coupla’ others like just in the woods a little bit for privacy.”

I had t’ laugh at how excited he was getting. “Like a little resort.”

“Hell yes!!!!!!”

“We should give this place a name” I said.

Che laughed, “Yeah, like Che River.” Then he looked at Mac who sat dutifully at his feet (Che had trained him so well), “Or Macaroni Pond” He leaned down to kiss his buddy and rub his ears. Then the two of us went back and forth throwing out goofy ideas for names. Che looked out over what we had created and said, what about just naming our home “Two Spirit Pond.” Che first learned about the concept of two spirit when Uncle River died and left me his land, and he was fascinated by it.

“Two Spirit Pond” I repeated. “Damn, I like that” I said making Che smile.

“We gotta winner!” Che announced, then in his best, soft narrator voice (Che had an amazing baritone voice that sent chills through me, especially when he whispered my name), “Welcome to Two Spirit Pond, a quiet, welcoming hideaway from assholes and bigots.” I laughed out loud at that, but damn it sounded good.

We were still laughing when Seth’s Atlas pulled up the driveway. The three of us walked over to the SUV and Seth rolled down the window.

“They’re here!” Seth exclaimed, he was excited for us, “This place looks awesome!” He said.

“School’s over, it’s summertime” Freddy yelled from his third row seat” with Teddy confirming.

“No mo schooooooooool” Izzy confirmed from the backseat. Ali just sat next to her sucking on his sippy cup and smiling.

Seth rolled his eyes, “Can you tell we’re excited for summer.”

“I wanna get out n’ see” Freddy yelled. After that it became a blur of kids voices begging to be unleashed.

“Nooooo, we gotta let the guys work” Seth said, but Che ignored him. He already opened the door and was unbuckling Ali.

“It’s okay, Man” He said to no one and everyone all at once. Then he addressed the kids directly. “Y’all gotta be coo, K? There’s men workin’ so stay by us so nobody gets hurt or nothin’.”

Seth gave in and started to get out of the Atlas, “You heard Cheese. No running around, and stay away from the workmen” He shouted tohis brood as walked around to the other side to unbuckle Izzy. The two older boys in the back let themselves out through the tailgate and were already on the ground rolling around with Mac.

Che held his arm out and dramatically waved it around and said, “Welcome to Two Spirit Pond.”

Seth beamed at that, “Is that what we’re calling it? I love it!” Before we could answer Seth yelled, “Freddy and Teddy, leave the workmen alone!” The two boys were standing a few feet away from a couple of the guys working on the cottages.

“They’re good” The guy yelled back in a friendly tone. The next thing we knew he had put the two to work helping him. Che held Ali in his arms, and I held Izzy in mine.

“Dey bad boys” Izzy said in disgust as she shook her head.

They hung out for about fifteen more minutes before Che had to head back to his beat, the Westin-Hall brood (+ Teddy) piled back into the Atlas to finish their trip home, and me n’ Mac went back to supervising. The guys worked until sunset, then returned early Thursday morning to finish what they started. By the time I got home on Thursday night our little resort was finished. Che had Friday and Saturday off (because he was working Sunday). He spent Friday painting the trim of the cottages. They had come painted one color, but Brody had picked out a color scheme for us. All three places had the same colors but used differently… Our house was Sage with a cream trim and a plum accent, one of the places was plum with the other colors as trim and accents and the third was Cream with Sage and Plum as trim and accents. They were like tiny painted ladies. All the Villagers houses in the country had a painted lady theme and we wanted to fit in.

We were both off on Saturday so we got up early, drove over to Seth and Zach’s, and loaded our trucks with all the stuff we’d stored in their barn. We were in and out of there so early that the kids didn’t even know we came by. By the time the trucks arrived with the furniture around 9AM, the cottages were cleaned, painted, ready for furniture… and cute as fuck!!! We spent the rest of the day filling the drawers and cabinets with utensils, plates, all the shit our guests would need. We made the beds, hung pictures, put lamps on tables, set candles around, etc. Both places looked cozy and cute. We took pictures to use in the Airbnb listings… our dream was really coming true.

We were standing in the bedroom of one of the cottages when Che said, “Only one thing left to do” Then he looked at me and said, “break ‘em in. My back was to the bed and Che pushed me onto it, and fell on top of me. His entire weight was pinning me against the brand new mattress as his full, supple lips enveloped me with a hunger I’ll never forget. Our sex life had been kind of low key since his accident, I was always gentle because I didn’t wanna hurt him, but he was sending me a message… ‘I’m not fragile, and I want to fuck.’ I heard him loud and clear. I rolled us over so he was on his back and I straddled him on the bed.

I grinned the most mischievous grin down at him and said, “Does Officer Che wanna play rough?”

He smirked that Che smirk, curled his lip and asked, “You man enough to take me, Mineola?” Mineola was a nickname my family gave me meaning “little river,” Che used it to tease me (oh, and my nephew who was named after me has the same nickname).

I jumped off the new, fresh bed, shucked off all my clothes, then I jumped back on the bed and straddled his face, smashing my reddish brown ass into it. I could feel him laughing under me before he shoved his long, wide tongue into my hole. I leaned over and pushed his shorts down to his thighs until his massive, black, man pleaser popped out. I pushed my ass against Che’s face as I licked his monster cock. I spit, licked, and stroked him, getting him nice and slick before I took him in my mouth. I’d trained myself to open my mouth wide enough to take him in and down my throat.

“Damn, Riv,” He moaned into my hole, then smacked my ass.

I took his cock outta my mouth long enough to growl, “Open that ass up, because I’m gonna ride that horse cock.” Yeah, we’d sex a lot since his accident, but it wasn’t the same as it used to be. It was so much more gentle… softer. I was so afraid of hurting his ribs. But he’d been telling me for a couple of weeks that he’s healed now and to stop being so damn gentle. It was time to listen to him.

“Fuck yeah, Riv, I been waitin’ a long time for dis.” We licked and sucked each other until my ass was wet and open, and his cock was at full mast, slick with my juices. I flipped around, squatted over him, and lowered myself onto his manhood.

Taking Che was always a challenge, but without lube… damn. I got distracted for a second and thought to myself, ‘Should we leave lube in the nightstands for the guests?’ Then I thought, ‘Will people be fucking in these cottages?’ Then I thought, “Damn! I forgot how big you are…” oh wait, oops, that wasn’t a thought, I yelped it out loud as Che pushed into my ass. My hole was tight, I pushed out trying to open myself up more and let him in, not that it mattered because Che was determined to go balls deep no matter what. He pushed his hips up into me, at first, I just kind of sat on him and let him do the work, then I decided that if he wanted it hard and rough… I was all in. “You sure you’re okay with getting’ a little rough?” I asked as I looked down into his eyes.

The corners of his mouth lifted into a smirk, “I took a bullet n’ survived, I can take you.” As playful and cute as that was, I didn’t like the joke… The whole experience had been awful, and scary as fuck. But I guess it was good that he was laughing about it.

“Almost took a bullet” I decided to joke back. “You aint got a bullet proof vest on this time.” I wasn’t sure he would think that was funny, but he did and let out the cutest laugh. We were putting that shit behind us… we were actually laughing about it.

“Besides, bitch. You da’ one takin’ it dis time,” He laughed. I couldn’t believe that we were joking about him getting shot while he were fucking. It was like the cloud lifted off us and we could move on.

I slammed myself down on his thick pole just as he was pushing up into me… holy fucking Christ!!!! He was so deep inside me, and his girth was pushing me to the limits. We’d left Mac out in the yard playing with some giant stick he found (just like me I guess), now I could hear him outside the cottage whimpering to come in. I looked at the door, “He’s fine” Che said as he pulled my face down for a deep kiss, picked up the pace, and slammed into me harder. My poor ass was taking a beating in the best possible way. My hands were on his dark, broad chest, my arms were outstretched, and my elbows stiff as I bounced up and down on my favorite chocolate treat. I didn’t hold back; I was riding him hard and rough like I used to and not thinking about his ribs at all. “Fuck, Riv, Fuck, Ima… Ima… Ima cum!’ He wailed as he shot his thick load up my asshole. His cock moved in and out of me more easily with every stroke as his seed lubed my well-used hole. I was still hard when Che pushed me off him and pulled out of me.

He stood up and grabbed my hand pulling me off the newly broken-in bed. “C’mon” He said as he dragged me through the living area of the tiny house and to the front door. He opened the door a little and peeked out to make sure no one had come to visit… then he pulled me out of the house and to the other cottage with Mac following right behind.

“What the fuck, Che?” I asked as we ran buck naked from one cottage to the next. My eyes were darting around the property making sure we were alone… we lived in the middle of nowhere, but drop-ins were a normal thing with so many of our friends living nearby.

“We aint fucked in dis one yet” He said as we entered tiny cottage number two. I shut the door leaving Mac outside again, then got pulled through the tiny living room/kitchen area, and into the tiny bedroom that looked a lot like the one we just fucked in with a slightly different color scheme. Without another word, Che pushed me onto the bed, got between my legs and started sucking my uncut cock until I was hard again. He looked me in the eyes as he devoured my cock like a starving beast. His eyes were glued to mine as he bobbed up and down on my spirit stick. His hand was working overtime, following the lead of his talented mouth. I just lay there, propped up on my elbows, watching the sexiest show on earth.

It. Did. Not. Take. Long. “Babe, babe, I’m gonna…” My breath was short as my orgasm sped up my hard shaft working its way towards Che’s waiting mouth. “…fuck, I’m gonna…” I never finished that sentence, I just shot my heavy, powerful load down his throat.

Che masterfully swallowed every drop and licked me clean before he lifted his head from my crotch and said with a satisfied grin, and a laugh, “There, we christened ‘em both, now they be finished.”

I looked around, “Well, except I gotta wash all the fucking bedding again” I said with a sigh.

Che just laughed, “worth it.” We lay there for a minute, kissin’ and catching our beath. Then we smoothed out the comforter, before leaving the cottage (it was still clean thank god). He peeked out the door again, then we walked naked back to the cottage where we started, Mac following behind us again. We put our clothes on, pulled off the well-used bedding, left the cottage and walked towards the main house. Che stopped in the middle of our property and looked around. “Dis is ours, Riv. We made it happen.”

I smiled, “I’ll be happy when the pier is in and the decks are built.”

“Troy and his brother are startin’ Monday, they said it’s gonna take about two weeks for all of it… then we’re golden, Babe.” Troy was another cop; he and his brother did construction on the side. He built the deck on our cabin, and we hired him to build the pier at the end of the pond, and smaller decks on the two cottages. When it was finished, all three place would have decks that faced the pond, and the pier would be on the narrow end of the pond so all the cottages could access it. “I got da’ kayaks picked out already” Che said as he pulled out his phone to show me. “We gonna need a shed for da’ paddles n’ life jackets n’ shit. We can put it right there” he said pointing to a spot near the pier.

“Can we afford it?” I asked. We had income from Che’s job, my job, and the land lease, but we’d been burning through a shitloada’ funds lately. Che was watching our finances; he had a knack for it.

“We good” He said. “Maybe next month, we can store stuff under our deck for now.”

“Are we really good?” I asked. I trusted Che, but I knew he was excited to get shit done, and make me happy so I double checked.

“Yeah, bae. We really good” Che responded with a smile. “Shadow Wolf pays big rent, n’ Zach aint lettin’ him skip.” He wasn’t wrong, he paid a lot of money every month to rent the land Uncle River left me, and since Zach threatened him with legal action, he’d been paying his rent on time and was leaving us alone. “We got this Riv, really” Che added to make sure I believed him; I always believed him.

We Spent the rest of our Saturday cleaning and primping, the fell asleep in each other’s arms with Mac sleeping at the foot of the bed. We earned that sleep, and we earned sitting on our deck the next morning watching the sunrise together. We sat with our piping hot mugs of coffee, and our chairs pointed east. Our cabin faced north, so we could see the sun rise and set, it was always beautiful but that morning was beyond words. Sitting there with Che, holding hands, our knees softly touching as we watched the sun come up over the home we were creating. Indescribable shades of pink, yellow, and even purple owned the sky. It was a perfect moment. Just a few months back I thought I might lose Che forever, but there we were, living the dream… our dream.

We had a great Sunday morning at home, just enjoying our time together and admitting what we were building. Che had to work the midday shift, but me and Mac walked through the woods to visit with everybody on the other side. Seth and Zach had everyone over for a cookout that evening, Che joined us when he finished his shift. He got there just in time to read the kids a bedtime story. Petunia, Zoey, and the kids wore Mac the fuck out and the three of us slept so sound that night. Good thing because the next two weeks were busy. When we weren’t at work, we were helping Troy and his brother work on the Pier and the decks … but it was totally worth it.

It was a Saturday night, and we were sitting on our deck with our chairs turned to the west watching the sunset. We were having a beer, talking about officially listing the cottages for rent now that everything was finished when we heard the crunch of gravel. We were facing the driveway and saw a shiny red pickup with Iowa plates make its way towards us.

My heart dropped into my stomach as Mac ran towards the intruder.
