Zach’s Story
“Of course, it’s bogus, he’s going to use it to drag this out in court and tie your rental income up in escrow so you can’t touch it for as long as possible” I told River and Che.
“So, Shadow Wolf’s just bein’ a dick as usual” Che said with a scoff. I nodded and kind of shrugged. Honestly, we knew he’d try something like this, it’s what he does.
“He can’t do that! My uncle left that land to me, and he owes me the rent. We have a lease.” River was as pissed as I’d ever seen him.
“Maybe this aint so bad, Riv” Che said to his partner, trying to be the voice of reason. “Listen, we make enough money to live on, and we were gonna to put the rental income away to save for a house anyway… man, this’ll just force us to save it.” That helped calm River a little bit, but he was still visibly angry with Shadow Wolf.
“Che’s right. There are so many holes in the will your dad suddenly “found.”” I said doing my best to reassure them. River’s dad (shadow Wolf, Bernard, complete asshole… whatever you want to call him) claimed to have found a newer will that left everything to him… including the hundred and fifty acres left to River in the original will Uncle River’s lawyer had filed. “The will dates back a couple of years, barely newer than the original, but just new enough to cancel out the other one” I explained. “But here’s the thing, our paralegal did some digging and discovered a few things. One, the notary who filed the will just happens to work for Shadow Wolf, two, she wasn’t even a notary until a year ago, so there’s no way she could’ve notarized and filed the documents that are a couple years old, and three the authenticity of the signature is questionable at best. We have a handwriting expert examining it against the older will and other documents your uncle signed.” River and Che looked at me with blank stares, processing what I said.
“So, it’s bullshit” Che said breaking the silence and trying to sum up my longwinded explanation.
I nodded, “That sums it up, we just have to prove it. Most likely a forgery that won’t stand up in court. So, Forgery, is a Class 1 felony that comes with jail time, that gives us leverage. I say we offer not to file charges against your dad if he drops the case, releases the money in escrow, and agrees to drop any and all claims against the land in perpetuity.”
“That sounds way too easy” River said.
“It might be, but let’s start there. If we need fight it in court, we’ll fight it in court, we have a solid case and he has nothing but a stack of bullshit paperwork that could land him behind bars. If his lawyer’s smart he’ll advise him to drop it and accept our offer to avoid criminal felony charges.” The guys seemed to understand what I was saying.
“Hey, speaking of criminal charges” Che said, “I heard Bernard posted bail, and the judge is allowing him to go back to Iowa until his court date next month.”
“Yeah, I heard he’s already gone” I replied. “So, let’s all just enjoy his absence for a while.” Then I changed the subject to something more pleasant. “Oh, Seth said to invite you guys out to the house tomorrow, he’s making a vat of chili… Colton and Craig will be there too. Seth ran into Taylor while he was getting the Atlas serviced and invited him too, but I’m not sure if he’s coming or not.” Both guys laughed at that, Taylor had a rep for being noncommittal.
“I got the night shift this week, so I go in at 6PM” Che said. Did I mention he loved being a cop? The force seemed to love him too.
“I’m going through all the Christmas lights and giving a bunch to Colton and Craig, so we’ll be around all day. Chili should be ready by like noon if you want to eat and hang out before you go in.”
He looked over at River for consensus then said, “Sounds good, we’ll come before my Shift” Che said.
“You’re giving away all your Christmas lights?!” River asked with wide eyes. “You can’t do that it’s tradition!” We had been lighting up our country road for years, it had become tradition, and all the villagers got into it. It was their tradition too.
“Nah, just a few things” I said. “We’ve done the same thing since we moved in, I want to change it up a little this year” I explained. “Craig and Colton have some lights that Terrance and Harrison left them, but they want to do something different… something bigger. We’re just taking inventory and giving them some hand-me-downs, that’s all.”
“It’s fuckin’ October and y’all are thinkin’ bout Christmas lights already” Che scoffed, then added under his breath, “white people.”
Before they left my office, I assured them that Shadow Wolf didn’t stand a chance. They trusted me, so hopefully they heard what I said and felt better about everything. Oh, and they agreed to stop by for chili.
The next day was Saturday. I got up early and started pulling all the boxes of Christmas lights out of the barn. Freddy heard me, got dressed, and followed me out to the barn to help with Petunia at his heels. The boy loved a good project, and Petunia loved the boy so everyone was happy. We stretched out all the strings of lights and plugged them in to test them. We took all the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff and lined it up… that was all moving across the street to Craig and Colton’s place.
“I still think it’s cool” Freddy said as he looked over the collection of stuff we were retiring.
“Me too, but it’s time for something different.”
“Why, a’cuz Izzy thinks it’s ‘scaaaaawy’? Freddy asked mocking his little sister.
“Oh, leave her alone. Besides, that’s not the reason. I just want to try something new” I said, and it was the truth. Our first year at the house, Seth and I scrimped to buy the Christmas lights, my parents even pitched in to help. Now, a few years later, we’re not struggling as much and I want to do something a little more… I dunno… cheerful. Plus, Craig and Colton were salivating at the opportunity to move our display to their place across the street, so why the F not?
“Well, what we gonna do, then?” Freddy asked as he stood with his hands on his hips like a tiny man and looked around the yard.
“I dunno… got any ideas?” I asked. He did.
He pointed around the yard as he babbled, “We could get a gigantical Santa Clauz bigger n’ the house and put him right over there, then there could be a huge sleigh with all the reindeer flyin’ over the house with presents fallin’ into the chim-a-ney, n’ an abomnimababable snowman bigger n’ Santa over there tryin’ a grab the presents fallin’ outta the sleigh, n’ a elf in a helicopter, n’ then we could get a gazillion more elfs n’ put ‘em all over the yard, n’…” His eyes were wide. I swear, that one sentence went on for a good ten minutes as he ran around the yard sharing his gazillion dollar, Hollywood style production for our Christmas lights. God, I loved his imagination… there was no doubt that Izzy would have several ideas of her own to add, and Ali would just smile and agree with his siblings and maybe grab one thing to hold onto like “Yeah, big Santa” and he’d repeat it until Christmas. I must admit, the holidays were so much more fun since the kids joined our family.
We’d been out there a couple of hours when Seth yelled from the house, “HEY! Breakfast is ready!”
Followed by, “You betto get in heo befo I eat you bweakfast” and a giggle from Izzy.
And then Ali’s tiny voice yelled, “Bacon!” Everyone was up, Petunia ran towards the house.
“Time for a break, Fredder.” I said to my son. “We’ll test the other lights after breakfast. You did good this morning, thanks for the help.” He really did! Freddy was at the age where he was no longer just following me around pretending (like the other two), he was actually a big help.
“It’s fun” Freddy said as he left the barn and ran with Petunia into the house. By the time I got there, Freddy was telling his siblings and Daddy Zeff all about his big (expensive, undoable, totally awesome) ideas for our Christmas lights. Izzy didn’t miss a beat before adding in her two cents with her mouth full of breakfast… I’d repeat it for you, but I only understood a few words of her excited rambling rant about princesses, “Wella” (that’s Cinderella in Izzy-speak), Mrs. Santa, and a “Wudolf da wed nose waindeo wif Dassodansopwansovikken” (which is the name she used to describe all the other reindeer… one name for all of them: “Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixon”). Beyond that, I honestly have no clue what she was saying, but Freddy seemed to understand every syllable and was all in on the idea.
“That’s awesome, right Ali?!” Freddy asked his little brother to include him in the conversation (he was so good about that). Ali enthusiastically nodded his approval as he sucked on his sippy cup while sitting in his highchair taking it all in.
The house was loud with the sound of childlike wonder, and the air was thick with the scent of fall. Seth already had chili in the crock pot, and the smells of bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns added to it and wafted through the air. Seth went all out for breakfast on the weekends, it was family time for us. No one was in a hurry to get to work or school, we all sat down together, ate, talked about whatever, and had fun being together.
“It smells good in here” Colton shouted as he and Craig came in through the front door.
“We in dad kit-sin” Izzy shouted back. Seth had piled bacon and eggs on a couple of plates for the guys and had them sitting on the counter before they ever made it to the kitchen. They walked in and the kids bombarded them, Freddy gave them the summary of the lights we had in the garage, and then all three kids started sharing their ideas for our new lights. The two guys listened intently and jumped right in.
“What about a gigantical Grinch too” Craig said to Freddy with eyes as wide as his and even more excitement. Him and Colton were totally playing into the kids excitement, all the villagers did that with the kids. They all gave them so much attention, and talked to them like little people, and our kids loved them for it. The house kept getting louder as everyone talked over each other. We eventually finished breakfast and headed back to the barn, this time everyone joined us. I went through the lights with Craig and Colton, and we talked about what would go where… Freddy had some very specific thoughts on the subject. While the five grownups (I’m including Freddy in that number) talked, the two little ones were on some weird organizing mission. If it was small enough for him to carry, Ali would carry it and move it, meanwhile Izzy would instruct him on where each item went. I have no flipping clue what they were doing, but they were content and happy as hell doing it.
We were just about to head across the street to Craig and Colton’s when we heard a rumble… like the loud purr of a mountain lion followed by the crunch of gravel. We all looked to see an old muscle car making its way up the long driveway towards us. “Cooooooooooolllllllll” Freddy shouted as he ran towards the strange vehicle that had come to a stop just a few from us. We were all surprised when the driver’s door opened and out stepped Taylor, his hair in a manbun, his eyes shaded by aviator glasses, and a proud smile on his face. Then surprise number two; the passenger door opened and out stepped Noah.
“So, what do y’all think of Sally?” Taylor asked.
“Cooooooooooolllllllll” Freddy said again. This time almost under his breath.
“Is this yours?” I asked.
“Yup, it’s my mom’s old 1973 Mustang Mach 1” Taylor replied, then went on to tell us all about how the car belonged to his mother and was her pride and joy. He told us how his dad basically stole the car and apparently gambled it away. Then he told us how Daddy James tracked it down and helped him bring her from a barn outside of Norfolk back to his garage. Taylor was a mellow guy; when he spoke, he was very well mannered and professional, but when he told the story of Sally, he was excited and animated. The old car had awakened something in him, and it was amazing to witness. “She’s registered and insured, and Daddy has been helping me do all the work. She needs a lot more lovin’ but at least we got her to where she’s safe on the road.”
“Noah, it’s great to see you” Seth said to the guy we thought was Taylor’s ex, and gave him a hug. The two guys had dated for a while, but had recently broken up, we were surprised but happy to see him. I always thought he was good for Taylor, he grounded him.
Noah turned to Colton and Craig and said, “Congratulations, guys. I’m sorry I missed the wedding.” The Colton and Craig told him all about their big day.
While the adults talked, the kids inspected the old Mustang. She was gold with black stripes, and a few spots of primer. Izzy called it “pwetty.” Ali touched all the primed spots, and repeated, “aw, it broked” over and over, while Freddy was beside himself with excitement.
“Is it a Transformer?” Freddy asked Taylor with genuine sincerity, then he begged with puppy dog eyes that no one could resist, “can we go for a ride?!”
“Yup, and you can drive” Taylor answered without hesitation.
“Shit, really?!” Freddy blurted without thinking. Then his face dropped as he instantaneously looked at me and Seth and said, “I… I… I’m, sorry dads, the bad word just slipped.” Seth nodded at him letting it slide, we knew he was excited. We all did our best not to laugh… but it was pretty fucking funny.
“I’m not sure that’s the best idea, Taylor. Does it even have seatbelts” I said intervening.
“Yeah, it’s got lap belts, he can sit on my lap. We’ll just go down the driveway” Taylor said dismissing me.
“I wanna wide in da pwetty cow” Izzy said.
“Me too” Ali smiled.
“You guys can ride in the back” Taylor said excitedly. Seth and I were looking at each other thinking the same thing: lap belts with no car seats… death trap. Taylor looked over at us and smiled. “Don’t worry, we’ll just roll down your driveway and up Colton and Craig’s.” We both gave in. While Taylor got the kids in the car, Colton and Craig filled the tiny trunk and their arms with lights. Taylor got in the driver’s seat with Freddy, I sat in the passenger’s seat, and the other two kids sat in the back.
Taylor turned the key and the engine roared. Oh my god, Freddy went nuts! “Stretch and push that pedal with your foot” Taylor told him. The little guy hit the gas and the engine roared even louder.
“WOAH!” Freddy laughed before punching the gas again. He had this gigantic smile on his face. He planted his hands firmly in the ten and two position as the old car rolled slowly down the driveway, and I mean literally rolled. Craig and Colton were walking next to us at about the same speed, with their arms full of lights, and Seth and Noah walked behind the car, deep in conversation. We got to the end of our driveway and Taylor punched the gas to zoom across the street into Craig and Colton’s driveway. The kids screamed like they were on a roller coaster. It took us about ten minutes to drive across the street, but as far as the kids were concerned, they had just raced in the Indy 500.
The kids got out of the car while the adults unloaded lights and looked around Colton and Craig’s big yard to decide where to hang lights. While we were looking around, Teddy came running across the yard, Brody and Max were behind him, each with a twin strapped to their chest. Freddy couldn’t wait to tell his BFF Teddy all about driving the “Stang” as he was now calling it. Freddy thought he was pretty damn cool (for the record, I thought so too). Eventually we headed back to our house for chili, this time, Teddy sat on Taylor’s lap while Freddy rode in the passenger seat. It was a big day for the kids.
When we got back to our house, River and Che were there waiting for us. They had already gone into the house and made themselves comfortable (they were family). The rest of the afternoon was eating chili, and having an awesome time with our chosen family. It occurred to me as we were hanging out that this was our extended family, these were (some of) the people our kids would grow up with. The perfectly flawed people who would shape the human beings they would become, and I felt good about that. There wasn’t an adult in that room who wouldn’t lay down their life to protect any of those kids. Che left around 4:00 to go home and get ready for the night shift, the party broke up after that.
Fall was my favorite time of year with the kids, Halloween was about a week away and the holidays were just around the corner. We spent the rest of the day with the kids working on their Halloween costumes. Freddy and Teddy came up with the idea of each family having group costumes, but not tell the other families until Halloween night (watching Izzy and Maggie trying to keep a secret for two weeks was great entertainment). It was a fun idea, and we all agreed, us, the BroMax clan, Dylan and Gina’s crew, and Eli, Riley, and Mercedes. Even the villagers were going to get into the act with couple costumes, and the night would end at a Halloween party at Craig and Colton’s.
We were having a great time with it… we settled on The Wizard of Oz, Freddy was going to be The Tinman, Izzy was going to be Dorothy, Ali wanted to be a doggy so bad… so Toto, Seth took The Scarecrow, and I took The Cowardly Lion. Well, that was the original plan at lest, that is until Ali and Izzy saw the picture book that my mom sent them. Glinda the good witch was beautiful and glamourous… Izzy glammed onto that and decided she HAD to be Glinda. So… we were short one Dorothy. Enter Ali. I have no idea why, but Ali was obsessed with the pictures of Dorothy in the book and insisted on being her. So, Ali was our new Dorothy, and Petunia took on the role of Toto. We made great progress on our costumes.
With all the excitement going on, Ali and Izzy skipped their naps and barely made it past dinner, even Freddy called it a night by 7:00 leaving me and Seth to enjoy a rare moment of peace in our usually chaotic home. I sat on the couch, and Seth lay down on his back with his head in my lap as I stroked his hair. “So, I saw you talking to Noah” I said. “Did you learn anything?”
Seth scoffed out a little laugh, “Well, Taylor was avoiding him, so he made an anonymous massage appointment to get him alone.”
I had to laugh at that, Noah had balls. “Did it work?”
“Apparently, he said they talked all night and that they decided to give it another try. He told me that Tayle\or let his guard down… and lemme tell ya’ as his therapist I can tell you that that alone was an accomplishment.”
“When was the last time you saw Taylor as a patient?”
“Funny you should ask. It was about six months ago, but before they left tonight he asked if he could call me tomorrow to set up and appointment” Seth replied.
“Is that a good thing?”
“Definitely. You’d never guess by looking at him, but that boy is battling some major demons.”
“No doubt” I replied knowing his past. I leaned down and gave Seth a soft kiss in the lips. That must’ve got him going. Seth was always in a great mood after a day with friends and family, there’s nothing he loved more than a house full of people.
“You wanna go up to the bedroom and play?” He asked with a smirk. If you know me at all, you know the answer to that question. I pretty much pushed him off my lap and onto the floor, then stepped over him as I run up to the bedroom. He laughed and followed behind. I had about a ten second start, that was enough for me to get into the room, strip, and lay on the bed on my side naked before he walked in. He snickered when he saw me and locked the door behind him to keep the troops at bay.
“Perfect end to a perfect day” he said as he stripped himself naked, and crawled between my legs. I shift to my back with my feet on the mattress and my knees in the air, he got on all fours with his perfect ass up, and his face down in my crotch. I heard him take a whiff, he loved my smell… it was a total aphrodisiac for him, and him getting off on my scent was a total aphrodisiac for me.
I folded my hands behind my head, propped myself up on a pillow and just watched as Seth devoured me. His beautiful eyes locked to mine as he licked my balls and stroked my cock. His hand moved slowly up and down my spit-slickened shaft while his warm tongue swirled on my sensitive sac making me growl with lust-induced pleasure. Seth and I lived in a stressful world, kids, demanding careers, an old house that constantly needed something, and of course a gazillion villagers needing help, but at that intimate moment, it was just us. Every stroke of his hand on my manhood, and swirl of his tongue on my balls was meant for just two people… me and Seth. He had my balls bubbling with babies, and my shaft hard as concrete in no time. I was ready to shoot, and I hadn’t done a damn thing but lay there. He sucked my berries into his mouth and stroked me faster, and just as I was about to pass the point of no return, he stopped and left me hanging. That man could read me like a fucking best seller. “Time to return the favor Daddy Sach” he said with the devil in his eyes.
“It’s hard work, but somebody has to do it” I said with a grin as we shifted positions. Seth was on his back with his arms folded behind his head, just like I had been. I was about to get between his legs when I decided I wasn’t quite finished yet. I straddled him in a sixty nine (my favorite) and sat my musky ass on his beautiful face before I went to work on his ample cock, taking it all the way down my throat until his pubes tickled my nostrils and its bulbous head choked me. Seth didn’t miss a beat; his hands parted my cheeks and his tongue explored my tight hole… ass spelunking at its very best. Damn my man knew how to eat ass. I wriggled my butt campaigning for more while I continued to give him a BJ worthy of a king. I brought him to the brink several times, then pulled back (He wasn’t the only one who could read his partners body).
After about the fourth or fifth edging Seth pushed me off him and whisper-shouted, “Fuck me already!” I was doing my best not to fall onto the floor while he repositioned himself on all fours. His ass and head both proudly in the air. I would’ve taken the time to chuckle at his enthusiasm, but I had some fuckin’ to do. I reached into the nightstand and grabbed the bottle of lube. My right hand worked on his tight hole, loosening it up with one slick finger, then two, while my left hand stroked my cock getting it ready to explore.
“You ready?” I whispered as I pushed my cock against his hole. I couldn’t help but look down and admire the sight of my own, veiny cock touching that sweet, glistening pink hole.
“Just fuck me already” Seth said in an exasperated voice that told me he just needed to be fucked. So, I smacked his ass and pushed my way in. I went slow and steady at first, but then it was balls to the wall as I fucked in and out of him hard and fast, smacking that firm ass several times along the way. Seth was a willing participant as he fucked himself back into me as hard as he could… he was in a mood that night.
“Shit, I’m gonna shoot” I warned.
“Do it. Breed me” Seth barked back in the throes of lust. So… I did. I let loose rope after rope of man juice into his tight ass. I kept going for a few more strokes before I pulled out of his cum-filled hole. Seth flipped onto his back and announced, “you aint done yet, Cowboy” then pulled his knees to his chest, “get back in there.”
I got in position, locked my eyes to his, and pushed my still hard cock back in and started thrusting. Seth’s right hand went to work on his own cock, I bent over to add a little spit to it for good luck. Seth’s eyes were rolled in the back of his head as he stroked himself into oblivion. Oh my god, you should’ve seen him shoot! His cum flew un into the air a good three feet and sweat covered his firm body. I fucked him until I went soft, then we both collapsed.
We slept like babies until the next morning when. The kids knocked on the bedroom door looking to be fed. It was a perfect weekend at the Westin-Hall house.
