Che’s Perspective
(Continued from Chapter 159 of The Village)
I was scared. I mean scared for my fuckin’ life. Damn, I wasn’t no pussy or nothin’, but I was stuck in the middle of a bunch of rednecks in pickup trucks holdin’ shotguns, and a bunch of armed state troopers ready to respond. I wasn’t seein’ no scenario where the gay, black thug and his Native American boyfriend came out on top. Me and my boyfriend, River, left this little shithole Iowa town almost a year ago and were happy as fuck to get out. His dad is a total asshole and the entire frickin’ town is afraid of the dude and kisses his ass. He hated that River was gay, and even worse, datin’ a black dude. Damn, that fucker made our lives a livin’ hell, and there was no way we could build a decent life together if we stayed. River’s dad, Shadow Wolf (Ha, yeah, that’s his name), tried to force us to come back but that didn’t work. To make a (already) long story short… River inherited some farm land from his uncle, his dad leases the land, but he didn’t pay rent… I know he just did it to get us back to Iowa so he could fuckin’ keep River home and have my black ass thrown in jail (he fuckin’ hated me). Well, there we fucking were, back in the middle of nowhere… and in the middle of a goddamn standoff.
Major Morelli from the Iowa State Patrol took several steps towards the caravan of redneck-filled pickups, stopped, and stood his ground. The pickup trucks stopped, and a big, black Lincoln Navigator with dark tinted windows moved past ‘em all and stopped at the Major’s feet. Shit, it almost hit him, but that tough sonofabitch didn’t even flinch. The vehicle just sat there for a minute; someone was inside, yelling on the phone. Finally, the back door of the vehicle opened and out came Shadow Wolf. He and the Major moved towards each other and met in the middle.
“Bernard, nice to see you” The Major said to Shadow Wolf. Bernard? Who the fuck was Bernard? River and I exchanged glances… I guess that was Shadow Wolf’s real name, but I never heard it before, and it was clear as fuck that River didn’t either.
“Major Morelli, always a pleasure” Shadow Wolf said with a sneer and the charm and grace of a mob boss. “And it’s Shadow Wolf.”
Unflustered, the Major took control of the situation, “It seems we have a bit of a problem, Bernard. I hear you ignored an eviction notice.”
“I just got off the phone with my lawyer, he’s on his way here. You can’t evict me from my own land.”
“Good point, but this aint your land” the major replied and handed an envelope with all the paperwork. Damn, this guy was steel. I was studying up at the police academy, and Morelli was the kind of cop I wanted to be. Tough, and on the side of the good guys.
“I’ve seen that paperwork; I don’t give a shit. This is my land; it was my father’s… he wanted me to have it.” Shadow Wolf shot back completely ignoring the envelope.
“Well, the dotted I’s and crossed T’s tell a different story. Your father left it to your brother, and he left it to your son, and your son wants his rent. There’s a couple of ways this can go down. The best way is for you to pay the boy, and we all go on our merry way.”
“That’s not happening” Shadow Wolf said, his voice deep and stern. “I told you; this is my land.”
“Well, if that’s the way you wanna play this, then we’re gonna have us a little problem” the Major said. Then he looked up at one of the pickup trucks and yelled, “Hey Jimmy Lansing, is that you under that red hat?” He spit on the ground, “that wouldn’t be a shotgun in your hand, now, would it? Cuz’ that would be a parole violation and I’d have to take you in.” The guy timidly put the shotgun down, not sure whether he should obey his boss, or save his own ass… he opted for his own ass and jumped out the back of the truck and walked down the long gravel road. Morelli picked another guy out, “And Melvin Pinkard, is that you? The boys in Marshall County will be glad to know where to find you, they got a warrant with your name on it that’s been collecting dust.” The major barked out a few more names, some more shit about outstanding warrants, probation violations, and a few other casual threats. “He shouted to the Troopers behind him, and said, “Why don’t you men collect some ID’s and start running some names through the system.”
Dayum, Shadow Wolf’s army dispersed fast as fuck. Guys were runnin’ off into the fields, pickup trucks were turnin’ around and zoomin’ down the dirt road leavin’ in clouds of dust. Shadow Wolf was down to one pickup with just a few of his goons for backup. While he and the Major went face to face, and toe to toe, the other troopers watched on as the equipment was loaded onto the wreckers.
Shadow Wolf barked, “Listen, Morelli. That equipment is mine and you and your men better back the fuck off, NOW!”
“You had your chance, now you’re just trespassing. Your equipment don’t belong here, so it’s being confiscated.”
I’ve seen Shadow Wolf mad before… but holy fuck, never like that. He moved to cock his shotgun.
“Bernard, you aint that stupid” Morelli said. “You cock that gun, and you’re either a dead man or behind bars.” Shadow Wolf stopped for a moment, then pointed his shot gun into the air, cocked it, and pulled the trigger in an act of frustrated defiance. Me n’ River just stood there; we didn’t say nothin’.
“Take him down boys” Morelli shouted and the Troopers swarmed on him and wrestled him down to the ground.
“This is bull shit. We’re on my land.”
“No, it’s River’s, now. If y’all want to pay him his rent, it’s up to him whether you stay or go.” Morelli said with no real emotion or expression. “I know the local sheriff is happy to turn a blind eye to all your BS, but the rest of the state aint so tolerant.” As he spoke, a shiny black Mercedes was collecting dust as it moved towards us.
When the vehicle parked, Shadow Wolf’s lawyer came out. He spoke with Major Morelli and Mr. Burke (Uncle River’s lawyer). “Let him up, boys” Morelli said to his troopers, then Shadow Wolf spoke privately with his lawyer. He was yelling and I was able to make out the “N word” and “faggots” so… we knew they were talkin’ ‘bout us. Right? When he was done gettin’ yelled at, his lawyer talked to ours, then they talked to the Major, then finally they talked to us.
“Will you release the equipment and promise not to press trespassing charges if we send the money to your account?” Shadow Wolf’s lawyer asked. There were no introductions, no pleasantries, just an offer to pay the fuckin’ rent money he shoulda’ already paid. Mr. Burke nodded his approval to us… our lawyer, Zach trusted him, so we trusted him.
River surprised me by sayin’ No. “I need assurance he won’t pull this shit again.” That may not sound like much, but River was scrawny and shy and usually got pushed around, especially by Shadow Wolf, he was scary AF! But River was standin’ up for himself… it was a big deal. I couldn’t help but smile when he got all tough n’ shit.
After some more talkin’, his lawyer promised to pay the second month’s rent by the end of the next week. We worked the whole thing out; the lawyers had the money wired to Rivers account while we stood there, and he had them release the equipment once the money hit the account (damn, that was the most money we ever had). His dad didn’t say a fuckin’ word to us, he hadn’t seen his son in months; yet he ignored him completely and started to get in his Navigator. Major Morelli walked up behind him and with one slick move grabbed his wrists, put them together, slid the handcuffs on, and started reading him is rights.
“What the fuck. I sent the kid his money” Shadow Wolf shouted as he tried to squirm out of the cuffs.
“That’s great” Morelli said calmly, “but you and me got some outstanding warrants to discuss.” It took three troopers to get him in the back of the cruiser and take him away.
“What’s gonna happen to him?” River asked Mr. Burke.
“Not much if I know Shadow Wolf. They’ll take him in, book him with whatever they got on him, probably petty stuff, then hit him with some fines. He’ll spend the night in jail, see the judge in the morning, and his lawyer will get him released.” Mr. Burke said. “Your dad has been playing this cat and mouse game with the state for years. His lawyer is as crooked as he is, so things usually go his way.” So, River won the battle, but the war would probably go on forever.
We thanked Mr. Burke, then got in my Camry and shut the doors. We just sat there for a minute lettin’ it all sink in; that was one fucked up meeting. River looked at me like he expected me to say somethin’ that would make everythin’ all good. I looked him in the eye and just said, “Bernard? WTF?” We both laughed… and couldn’t stop, like what happens when you’re tryin’ not to laugh at church. We were nervous, freaked out, and relieved. We finally stopped laughin’ and I put the car in gear, “Let’s get somethin’ to eat then go back to the hotel.”
“Wait,” River said so quietly I almost didn’t hear him, “I wanna go see my mom first.”
“Dat bitch? What for?” I scoffed. His mom was as bad as his dad, shit that bitch was like the wife of a mob boss. She backed Shadow Wolf’s ass up and made excuses for him. I remember once, I met River out in this field… it was the only way we got to see each other. He had a black eye and bruises all over him. He told me Shadow Wolf beat the hell out of him because he talked back to him or somethin’ stupid, and his mom just sat there and smoked a cigarette while she watched. After it was over, she just said, “I hope ya’ learned somethin’ this time.” She wasn’t no better n’ him.
“I dunno, I just feel I need to go see her” River said. “We’re here for closure, I need closure with her too.”
“If Shadow Wolf finds us there, we’re dead.”
“He’ll be locked up until tomorrow morning” River said. I did not want to fuckin’ go, so I asked if he was sure, and he just nodded. I drove down the gravel road to their paved driveway and turned towards the main house. Their house didn’t belong in the middle of farm country, a tacky-ass McMansion with this five-tiered gold fountain in front of it. The inside was decorated in fake gold and black lacquer… it was like somebody with no class’s version of classy. Shadow Wolf liked to flaunt it… he just had no class.
I parked in front of the hollow white pillars with gold trim, and gave River one more chance to back out. He took a deep breath and got outta the car, I followed him to the front door. He knocked; we stood there listening to shufflin’ and watchin’ someone peek through the living room blinds for a couple of minutes before his mom finally opened the door. She threw her arms around him and was all like ‘my baby’s home. Oh, River, where have you been?! I’ve missed you so much’ Who was dis bitch? I knew River’s mom, and this sweet, lovin’ motherly lady wasn’t her. “I have miss you so much, and Che you look so good” she said. Seriously. Who the fuck was dis bitch? She invited us in and offered us somethin’ to drink. River told her what happened at the barn.
“So, they’re holding your father in jail tonight?” she asked with relief in her voice.
River and his mom talked for a long time; she seemed genuinely interested in what he’d been up to. He told her all about our new life in North Carolina, working at the Candle Factory, wantin’ to go back to school to be a teacher, me goin’ to the Police Academy, even about our dream of buyin’ a house. She listened with interest, giving her youngest son her full attention... probably for the very first time ever, and River was lovin’ it. We made dinner together, ate, had dessert, and they talked through all of it. At one point she asked us to spend the night. I just shot River a ‘fuck no’ look. His eyes were locked with mine while he spoke to his mom as if he was tellin’ me what was gonna happen. “If you need us to stay, we’ll stay.” He said. I rolled my eyes and nodded. I didn’t wanna stay in Shadow Wolf’s house, but if that’s what River needed me to do, fuckin’ fine, I/’d do anything for him. Well, the two of ‘em kept talkin’, I got bored so I went up to bed.
It felt weird sleepin’ in Riv’s old room, that was the first time I was ever there. His Dad didn’t let my black ass near their house… that mother fucker hated me, and threatened to have my ass arrested if he caught me near River. But there I was, sleepin’ under his roof in River’s bed. It took a while but I finally fell asleep. It had been a long day, and I was in deep sleep, probably snorin’ when somethin’ blocked my breathin’ and this funk filled my nostrils. There was this weight on my face and I woke up panickin’, then I heard River laughin’. I opened my eyes to see him looking down at me with a smirk… that fucker was sittin’ on my face. River was submissive as hell, but he was ready to play.
“What da’ fuck?” I mumble into his butthole.
He moved his ass back and forth pushin’ his hole onto my face. “Eat my hole” he whispered. Man, this was fucked up... I was the top. He messed with his ponytail and let his jet black hair fall over his shoulders. He was smilin’, lookin’ all cute and innocent while he forced me to tongue fuck him… man, he was in a mood! He was on an adrenaline high from standin’ up to his old man and decided he was gonna play alpha n’ take control. Shit, who the hell was I to say no. My lips suctioned onto his ass cheeks and my tongue found its way deep into his hole. Damn, that pink hole peekin’ outta between them reddish-brown ass cheeks… hot as fuck! He has a funk from the long day, but I could still smell his bodywash; the combination of clean and dirty had my big black monster pointin’ straight up outta my fly and tryina’ break outta its own skin. River looked back at it, grabbed it, and laughed… he knew what he was doin’ ta’ me n’ loved it. “You wanna fuck me. Don’t ya?” he whispered.
I nodded into his ass crack and mumbled ‘yeah’ into his hole.
“Not tonight” he groaned back. “I’m fucking that tight, black ass.”
‘Aw, hail no,’ I thought to myself. But before I could say a damn thing he shifted and shoved his long, skinny cock in my mouth and down my throat. That quiet little fucker was holdin’ onto the headboard of his bead and facefuckin’ me. I started to choke, he pulled out to let me breathe. “You aint playin” I choked out.
“Nope. My turn to top. I always wanted to fuck you in this room” he said with a laugh, then went back to facefuckin’ me. Bitch was on a mission, so I went with it. My head was hitting the headboard, my eyes were waterin’, and my throat was sore. River was lovin’ it and that’s all I really gave a shit about, so I powered through and took the face pounding. After a while, he flipped around so that he was on top and we were in a sixty nine. I had his long, skinny cock down my throat, his balls slappin’ my nose, and an awesome fucking view of his ass mounds. Meanwhile, back at my cock… he was sucking my big, black snake like a pro. He always complained that I was too big to suck, but somehow he always took me all the way down his throat and buried his nose in my curly bush. I was suckin’ on him and fingerin’ his hole while he moved from my cock to my hole… damn that scrawny little fuck knew how to eat ass. A few minutes into it he smacked my ass and whispered, “I’m gonna fuck you.”
He flipped around and got into position, normally I woulda’ fought him, but he was on a high from the standoff with his dad… so I let him have the win. I was flat on my back when he got on his knees between my legs, I lifted ‘em up to give him access and wrapped ‘em around his neck. He spit on his cock and stroked it until he was lubed the fuck up, then he jammed it into my hole. Seriously, he just rammed it up into me and started fuckin’ me hard… my gentle little, Native American partner was on the war path and speared my hole with all he had. I took my hard cock in my hand and stroked it, matchin’ his pace. Dude, he was fuckin’ me like a feral bunny rabbit, fast and furious. With a quick warning and a grunt, he pushed as far into me as he could and shot his load inside. River wasn’t girthy, but damn he was long… it felt like his head was in my belly. He pulled out and told me to push his cum outta my hole. ‘What the fuck? This was new,’ I thought to myself then did like he said. He cupped his hand under my hole and caught his cum when pushed it out, then he jacked me off with it. Fuck, it felt amazing! He moved down and ate the rest of his cum out of my hole while he kept jackin’ me off, Jesus fuckin’ Christ it was the hottest thing ever. I was ready to shoot a couple seconds in but did my damnedest to hold off and enjoy it. With his hand movin’ up and down my thick shaft, and his tongue dartin’ in and out of me I finally gave into ecstasy and shot my load. I was doin’ my best to keep quiet knowin’ his mom was down the hall, My cum shot up into the air and by body shook with excitement as it landed back on my dark, muscular body.
River was lappin’ it up like a stavin’ kitty. He licked the sweat and cum from my glistening mocha frame, workin’ his way up until he finally got to my lips and gave me a deep kiss that tasted like my own cum. “I’ve been wanting to do that in this room since the day I met you” he whispered. Then he cuddled up next to me and we fell asleep.
The next mornin’, we were up, showered and sayin’ our goodbye’s by 7AM. There was no way in fuck I wanted to be around when Shadow Wolf got home. “Mom, you can come with us” River said. I did not fuckin’ like that idea… yeah, she was all sweet and nice last night, but she was the same bitch that chased me off the porch with a broom more than once threatenin’ to kick my ass, and the same bitch that smoked a cigarette while she watched her husband beat the shit outta he son. Thank freakin’ god she wouldn’t leave… shit, I’d do anything for River, but her livin’ with us would be pure fuckin’ hell. He left the invitation open as we got in the Camry and said our final goodbye. We drove down the long driveway. Next stop, my Father’s house.
“So, what the fuck was up with her?” I asked River. “When did she turn nice?”
“I guess once all us kids left, Shadow Wolf started takin’ all his bullshit out on her.” River said with a sadness in his voice. “I know I should be pissed at her, but I know what it feels like and I wanna’ help. I gave her my number and told her to call me if she needed help.”
I understood, but the bitch made her owned damn bed. “You can’t force her to leave him. Besides, if she does, the fucker will come looking for her… we just got rid of him.” River’s dad had tracked us down before and tried to make us come back. Riv n’ me talked more about it as we drove through the country and into the small town to my the shitty apartment where I used to live with my dad. My mom took off when I was just a kid and my Gram raised me, she died a coupla’ years ago… and my dad… he never gave a shit; he was just a nasty drunk. So, when River turned eighteen, we took off and got the fuck outta there. We’d been gone for like ten months and he never even tried to call, or text, or nothin’. I tried callin’ him but he never answered. Like I said, he never gave a shit before, it was stupid for me to think he’d start givin’ one now.
We pulled up to the apartment building, and I told River to wait in the car. I took a deep breath, then went into the building and up to the third floor to the apartment. I still had my key so I put it in the lock and turned it, it didn’t work, so I knocked. A woman answered, she said she just moved in a couple months back and all she knew about the guy that used to live there was that he left town. I asked her some questions, but she didn’t know shit. I went back down to the car to where River was waitin’.
“He’s gone” is all I said. River asked me a buncha’ questions I couldn’t answer as we headed back to the hotel to get all our shit, and check out. Then we loaded up the Camry and headed back home to North Carolina.
River had his rent money, and some closure with his parents. I just had more questions… but I didn’t need answers, River was my family, and Wilmington was my home.
To be continued …
Author’s note: Welcome to ‘Villagers.’ Each chapter will be told from the viewpoint of one of the many characters that have emerged over a span of over 380+ chapters. You don’t have to have read the other chapters to jump into the story (but if you want to, go for it). Part one of this showdown can be read at The Village, Chapter 159.
River and Che (pronounced Chee) made their debut in chapter 114 of my series “The Village.” Che is a young black kid with a thuggish exterior and a heart of gold. River is Native American. The two grew up in a small, homophobic rural, Iowa town with shitty parents. When they both finally turned eighteen, they jumped in the old Camry that Che’s grandmother left him and found their way to Wilmington North Carolina where The Village took them in. If you want/need more background you can read The Village, write me, or just ask in the comments… someone will be happy to bring you up to speed. THANK YOU FOR READING and I hope you’re come back for the next chapter.
