Steel could not believe his ears!
Had Slash really just suggested what he thought he had!?
Cause the extinction of the dinosaurs!!?
But as another cadre of fang, horned reptiles charged the robotic warrior, the hero from the future knew their options were short indeed. Grabbing one by the tail, Steel uses it like a club to swat the other massive beasts carreening into the hills far beyond the battlefield, buying him some time while he still weighs their choices.
"Damn varmints!" yells The Midnight Cowboy at his saurian army. "Don't go in one at a time. Charge in all at once!"
The villain whips the air and a crack rings out over the herd.
His new reptilian soldiers hear and obey!
As hundreds of huge ancient armored dinosaurs charge the metal warrior once more, the mighty combatant finally decides his course.
"Fine," relents Steel. "We do it, little hero."
"Woohoo!" a scream of joy echoes over their connection. "Sending you the coordinates now Steel!"
Seeing the target arrive in his visual reticule, the cyborg hero pauses to confirm.
"That's not on Earth, Slash."
"Trust me Tin Man. Lock and load!"
Realizing he has only but a few precious seconds before the next wave of dinosaurs descend on him en masse, Steel orders his shoulder cannon to aim at the sky.
The laser fires!
The bolt of energy flies upward through the stratosphere!

A giant vortex opens in the sky above!

Then from out of the chaotic wormhole above... emerged another planet destroying meteor!

"Slash... where exactly does that wormhole lead?" yells Steel through his mind connection as his vision is obscured by the growing dust storm.
"The asteroid belt, naturally," answers his boyfriend with a grin. "I didn't want to take any chances."
"You do know the rest of life on Earth still has to survive this right, little hero?"
There was a brief silence in their connection.
"Steel, I'm going to need to close that wormhole immediately."
With a sigh, the muscled robot fires his shoulder cannon once more at the vortex above. However before the shot can collapse the chaotic nexus, one last asteroid zooms through the portal and into the Earth's atmosphere! It was 10x the size of the others!
"Uh... Steel... something is telling me, that's the one that does it!"
"Where are you at Slash?" asks Steel, urgency creeping into his voice. "Time is now running short."
A flare fired from the end of his plasma blade lights up the dust filled sky some distance away.
Launching himself into the air in one heroic leap, Steel lands in front of his boyfriend in a crater of his own making.
"Grab hold of me! Now!" orders the hero to his sidekick.
Not needing to be told twice, Slash yells to The Beast nearby.

Activating his neutrino shield, Steel is able to circle the three companions in protective energy right before the meteor impacts!

Meanwhile as the explosion shreds the earth at supersonic speed in front of The Midnight Cowboy, the villain is only able to initiate his next wish before the deathly wave arrives!
The battlefield is cast into pitch darkness as the sun becomes obscured for the next several millennia.
The Ice Age has now begun.

Through the toxic air, a light shimmered somewhere inside.
It was Steel's near invulnerable shield... still active and fully intact!
Within it the hero, his boyfriend, and The Beast were alive and well!
But where was The Midnight Cowboy!?
Keeping his shield set to full, the robotic warrior begins to walk through the fiery dust lightening storm that had engulfed the Earth's surface. While injured externally from the ordeal, his memory banks still seemed mostly unharmed. If alll was as it should be... The Midnight Cowboy would be some hundred or so yards in this direction.
Eventually after several minutes of searching, a lone figure was seen laying beside a dark horse.

The blast wave seemed to have knocked them both unconscious however!
Merging his future techno shield with the magical enchanted bubble of The Midnight Cowboy, Steel creates a zone of safety for all four. There was much still left to be done as the world ended around them, suffocated in an embrace of fire and ash. The tournament still had its rules.
Checking the defeated man's pulse, Slash nodded to his hero.
"He'll be awake soon. Might I suggest we tie him up before that occurs."
Blinking his eyes back to functioning, The Midnight Cowboy stirs.
But something is wrong! He can not move!
The villain has been hogtied in his own lasso.
