Next Door Casting Review

Next Door Casting features guys in their audition videos, a mix of hardcore and solos. Lots of guys think they have what it takes to be a porn star, but no matter how good looking or hung he is, a guy still has to do a screen test. Can he perform? Can he get a hard-on and cum on demand? If he's doing hardcore, can he work with whomever walks through the door, and does he have fiery chemistry with his scene partner? Can the solo guys get it hard and - more importantly - keep it hard? It's been a while since we reviewed the site, so let's see what's been happening since our last visit.

The site launched in early May 2015 and updated through 2016 with 100% hardcore auditions. You might expect all of the guys on Next Door Casting to be fresh faces doing their first shoots, but that's not always the case as the scene partner for the newcomers has been around the porn block. On our last visit, there were seven guys I had seen on other sites, and while I'd still classify them as new, thet weren't first-timers. Paul Canon, for example, had filmed dozens of videos for Broke Straight Boys. Still, many of the guys then and now were just breaking into the business.

The guy who breaks in the new guys in the original Next Door Casting auditions is Markie More. He debuted with Next Door back in February 2014, and he filmed ten other scenes before he landed this gig auditioning newcomers and porn hopefuls. From the site's launch through August of 2016 he appeared in all but one of the Next Door Castings videos (19 in total), but he hasn't appeared in any of the newer updates. More is a good-looking guy who often wears glasses in his scenes, he's sporting a well-defined body with quite a bit of ink and he's versatile, so he was perfect for the casting couch. And members can see him in many updates from other sites in the Next Door Studios network.

The performers here have hot bodies, some slim and fit while others are muscular, but all of them are well-built and sexy. A handful have beards, a few had some body hair, but most are smooth, and a few had some ink, but only a few of them were more heavily tattooed than Markie More. While Next Door runs jock, twink and ebony sites, all of the guys here have been white or Latin and most are athletic and jock types. The newest auditions, from 2019 and 2020, feature a nice mix of guys, some quite built and a couple slender but fit. Some are a bit scruffy, a couple have light body hair and unshaved pubes. All but one of the new videos are solo, while the older videos are all hardcore.

Next Door Casting offers 77 exclusive, DRM-free videos in MP4 format. The downloads are offered in five sizes, the largest in full HD at 1920x1080; the smaller sizes will play on most mobiles, and the smallest size should play on most older phones. The videos are studio quality with good lighting and sound. You can also stream them on the site in several qualities, all of which play at about 1136x640 with progressively better picture quality as you move from lowest to highest. You can enlarge the videos to full screen, and unsurprisingly the highest-quality versions fare best.

Each episode also includes a picture gallery. In all but one of the older sets the pics are good amateur to good quality digital stills sized at 1280x1920, while the newer sets are good quality screencaps sized at 1920x1080. While the pictures are large, they resiz to fit your browser when viewing them on the site, but when downloaded are offered at their full size. There's a hands-free slideshow, and you can save the pictures individually or download entire sets in zip files. Each set has from 15 to over 40 photos per set. Btw, while the pics here are good stuff, the thumbs on the galleries are tiny.

There's plenty of extras for members to enjoy as Next Door Casting is part of the Next Door Studios network. Members get access to 3,896 bonus videos from 17 network bonus sites including Next Door Buddies, Next Door Twink, Next Door Raw and the latest sites, Next Door Homemade, and the network adds its own separate videos, too. While not all the sites still update, there's lots of content and enough updates to keep members busy. There's also a member forum and 436 more videos in the "On the Set" section, which I really enjoyed, and it's a great place to get to know the guys better.

It's time to talk about issues. The biggest one is that the site has stopped updating, although not for the first time; this time it's been over three and a half months, so don't count on new content. There's the pre-checked offer on the billing page, but it's easy enough to uncheck the box if you're not interested. Trial members get limited access; they can stream the videos, but downloads are reserved for full members. You'll be automatically signed up for the Next Door email list when joining, and there's no way to opt out at that time. When you hit back from the billing to the join page, you'll get a pop-up with a fake site rep that's actually a bot. You'll probably be hit with a notification pop-up on the tour; if you share the computer or don't want to receive periodic porn notifications, you may want to block it. And when you log in, you'll find yourself on a full page ad, but it's easy to find your way into the member area.

I liked the Next Door Casting movies because they aren't cheesy sessions where some porn hopeful sucks off the director. These are good quality, well-lit jack off and sex scenes where we really get to see how these newcomers perform. There are 77 exclusive videos to download, stream and watch on your mobiles, although disappointingly updates have stopped. I'd have liked to have seen a variety of established performers test-driving the newcomers, but Markie More is personable and knows how to have a good time, and the newer hardcore videos have more Next Door stars breaking in the guys auditioning. The biggest draw here is the 3,896 network videos, the On the Set section and the frequent network updates, and you can also see the newcomers in the scenes they filmed after passing their auditions.
