Don’t be afraid to keep communicating with Mitch. The talk you had when you told each other you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together was a good start. For most of your relationship, you both have been afraid to express your true feelings for fear that the other one did not feel the same way. Rest assured that you both truly care for and love each other.

Now you just need to figure how to express the commitment you just made to each other. Again, talk about it and stop trying to just say what you think the other person wants to hear. You will find an answer that will more than make each other happy.

We woke up the next morning to a new day, a new month, a new year, a new decade and a new century. We had told each other that we were committed to each other forever. But what did that mean?

Things had improved slightly for gay couples in the last few years, but we still couldn’t be married legally. I know there were a lot of same sex couples having commitment ceremonies and having actual weddings, but they weren’t legally recognized in most states. Those civil unions weren’t illegal, but they still didn’t allow many of the same rights that straight couples received when they were married.

Of course, Mitch and I have already named each other beneficiaries on our life insurance policies and 401Ks, but we wanted to show the rest of the world how committed we are to each other. We talked about it over the next few days but still had not come with an answer.

The next week, one of my coworkers was having some work done to his car and asked me for a ride home after work. I was happy to help him; it really wasn’t too far out of my way. However, it did take me through a neighborhood that I seldom drive through. After I dropped him off, I was driving to our apartment and saw something that gave me an idea.

Mitch was already home and starting to make our dinner when I walked in. He gave me a kiss as I took off my coat.

He asked, “How was your day?”

I smiled, “It was good, how about yours?”

He said, “It was good too.”

I said, “I gave Joe a ride home tonight, his car is in the shop.”

Mitch nodded, “Oh yeah. Do you want rice or pasta with dinner?”

I said, “Let’s do rice. After I dropped Joe off, I saw a house that was for sale.”

He grabbed the rice from the cupboard as he turned to me, “Okay, what about it?”

I asked, “What would you think about us buying a house?”

Mitch paused for a minute, “Is that something you want?”

I nodded, “Yeah, I do.”

He grinned, “I would love to have a yard to mow. How about a big back yard so we can have a little garden and grow tomatoes and onions?”

I wrapped him in a hug, “That would awesome.”

We finished making dinner and as we ate, we talked about all the things we wanted in our new house. After we cleaned up, we sat down and went through our finances to see what we could afford. We were both getting more excited about the idea the more we talked about it.

The next day, I found a real estate agent and told her what we were looking for and what we thought our price range was. We had an appointment at the bank on Friday to start the loan process. After our meeting at the bank, Joan, our real estate agent started to show us houses. The first few were older homes that needed a lot of work. We weren’t impressed with the neighborhoods either. We agreed that we should wait until we got a decision from the bank before we got too serious. It would be easier to find the right house after we had a firmer price range to work with.

About three weeks later, we were approved for our loan. The bank wasn’t sure about loaning money to an unmarried couple, but we had no other debt and both had a good credit history. We also had a decent down payment, so they finally agreed we were worth the risk.

Joan lined up several more house tours the next week. Bob was good about giving me an hour or two off whenever we needed it for our search and so was Mitch’s boss. About a month later, we were starting to get a little frustrated. Joan did her best to reassure us the right house would come along soon. I had been talking to mom and dad about it; they also told me to just be patient. Beth and Kyle told us that it took almost a year to find their house too.

Over the next three months, we looked at countless houses, trying not to get our hopes up. There were a couple that we liked, but they ended up being sold before we could even put in an offer. We would not be deterred, we continued our search, not wanting to settle for something we really didn’t want.

A week later, Joan called me at work, we had another house to look at tonight at 5:00. I left work a little early and picked Mitch up to drive to the house. We both liked the neighborhood as we made the drive, at least that was a good sign. Joan’s car was already in the driveway when we arrived, we parked next to her. Again, we liked the look of the exterior, another check on the good sign list.

Joan greeted us at the front door and began her sales pitch. “So, the living room is nice sized and open to the dining room and kitchen. You’ll notice the breakfast bar divides the kitchen and dining room. The appliances are included; the side-by-side refrigerator has an ice maker. The cooktop is gas and there is a built-in double oven.”

Mitch smiled at me, we both loved the kitchen, it was perfect for us since we liked to cook so much. Joan next showed us the laundry room that was off the kitchen and led to the attached garage.

She led us back through the kitchen and down the hall. “It has three bedrooms. There is a main bath as well as one off the master bedroom. There is also a jack and jill bathroom between the other two bedrooms. All the rooms have walk-in closets.”

We walked around the master bedroom and bathroom. It was a nice-sized bedroom, the bathroom had a large shower that was certainly big enough to fit both me and Mitch comfortably. We smiled at each other as we went to look at the other rooms. The main bathroom was just like most every other bathroom you see in similar houses and included a tub-shower.

Joan led us down the hall to the other rooms, “The other bedrooms are all perfect for little ones… or would make a nice guest room, or even a home office or workout room.”

I’m sure she was reciting her normal sales pitch when she mentioned kids. She was a little embarrassed as she corrected herself after she remembered who she was talking too. We didn’t react, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.

She showed us around the rest of the house showing us all of the other features and selling points. Mitch and I loved the house, and Joan told us it was in our price range. By the time we were finished looking around, I was getting really excited. I knew Mitch and I needed to talk about it alone; Joan knew it too.

She said, “I have another couple that would be a good fit for this house. You guys talk about it tonight and call me first thing in the morning. I won’t call the other couple until you tell me you aren’t interested.”

As soon as we got in the car, Mitch asked, “What do you think?”

I let out a deep breath, “I was ready to make an offer as soon as I saw the kitchen.”

He chuckled, “Yeah, me too. Did you see the back yard? It’s perfect too.”

I asked, “Have we found our house?”

Mitch paused, “Do you have Joan’s home phone number?”

I nodded, “Yeah, I think it’s on her card.”

He said, “I think we should call her tonight and not wait until morning.”

As soon as we got home we called and gave Joan our offer. She told us she would call the seller first thing in the morning and let us know as soon as possible.

Six weeks later we were in her office signing our names about a hundred times and we walked out as homeowners. We had talked to our landlord when our lease was up, it was about the same time we started to look for a house. He agreed to let us rent on a month-to-month basis, so we only needed to give him a 30-day notice. We did that as soon as we had the papers signed.

We wanted to do some painting and put new carpet in the master bedroom before we moved in. We had everything done and were ready to move in when mom and dad came to town a month later. Beth, Kyle, Adam and Molly were also going to help us move.

Adam and Molly were married last year and Molly was now about 7 months pregnant. My brother had a son, and my sister was also expecting in a few months. Mitch and I were suddenly becoming uncles to a whole herd of kids, and we loved it.

Dad, Adam, Kyle, Mitch and I carried in all the boxes first and Mom, Beth and Molly started unpacking them, filling the kitchen cabinets. While they were doing that, we carried in all the big furniture, putting it in all the appropriate rooms. It didn’t take too long as we were moving from a one-bedroom apartment to a house. We really didn’t have a lot of furniture; we would have to make a trip to the furniture store later. Since our small kitchen table and chairs looked so tiny in our new dining room, a new dining set would be the first item on our list.

Once we had all of the furniture carried in, Mitch and I began arranging the living room. Dad, Kyle and Adam were putting our bed together, while the ladies made us sandwiches for lunch. By the middle of the afternoon, we had almost everything put away. Cole and Conner had spent most of the day playing in the back yard on the swing set that the previous family left behind.

Mom helped me carry a few boxes to one of the spare bedrooms. Mitch and I hadn’t decided what we were going to do with those rooms yet.

She asked, “What are your plans for these rooms?”

I shrugged, “We’re not sure, we’ll probably set up one as a guest room. I guess we’ll use the second for storage for now.”

She nodded, “I have your grandma’s old bed and dresser if you want it.”

I smiled, “Thanks mom, I’ll ask Mitch and we’ll let you know.”

Dad, Kyle and Adam checked the rest of the house out, giving us their approval of the electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. Mitch and I breathed a sigh of relief, glad that we didn’t miss something that might cost us a lot of money later on.

We had bought some steaks the day before to cook for dinner, just to say thanks to our family for all of their help. Well, we also wanted to try out the new grill that we purchased as soon as we closed on the house. I put some potatoes in the oven to bake and tried to get mom and Beth to sit down and relax. Molly was already sitting, we made sure not to have her do any lifting, but holding doors open all day had worn her out. Of course, mom insisted on cutting up the veggies for a salad.

After an early dinner, mom and dad headed home. They had to be home for plans they had for the next day.

Beth, Kyle and the boys all gave us a hug as they started to leave. Beth said, “It’s a great house guys, and we are so happy for you.”

I said, “Thank you so much for your help. You don’t know how much we appreciate it.”

Adam and Molly each gave me a hug and then Adam wrapped his little brother in hug, “You did good Mitchell, I’m proud of you.”

Mitch let a tear run down his cheek, “Thanks Adam, I love you.”

Mitch closed the front door and turned to me. He gave me a kiss and said, “We’re home. Are you happy?”

I smiled, “As long as I’m with you, I’m happy.”

We spent the next couple of hours moving things around a bit, we will probably be doing that for the next few weeks. We finally sat down on our couch to catch our breath. Mitch leaned into my chest as I wrapped my arms around him.

Mitch chuckled, “Man, you stink.”

I laughed, “And you smell like a rose. I guess we know who did all the work today.”

He turned to give me a kiss, “How about we try out our new shower?”

I smiled, “I think I like that idea.”

As soon as we were naked, we stepped into the shower, there was plenty of room for the both of us. I don’t think either of us will ever shower alone again. We began to kiss as the water started to wash the day’s sweat away, neither of us seemed to care how the other smelled now. We sensually soaped each other up, not missing an inch of the other’s body. I know our hard cocks and cum-filled nuts were especially clean.

Once we were both rinsed off, I went to my knees and took Mitch’s manhood into my mouth. The taste of his precum overpowered the taste of the soap, much to my delight. Mitch leaned back against the wall as his hands found the back of my head, and my hands found his fur covered ass.

Mitch gasped as he pushed me off of his cock and pulled me to my feet for another kiss. He turned me so that I could lean against the wall and he went to his knees to return the favor that I had just given him. God, every blow job he gave me was always better than the last.

Before it was too late, I pulled him up for another kiss and rinsed off one last time. Satisfied that our new shower was perfect for starting our love making sessions, we turned off the water and dried each other. We held hands as we walked to our bed and resumed kissing. We broke our kiss to pivot and started to orally service each other. This has always been one of our favorite positions ever since we started making love together.

Mitch released my cock and licked my nuts. He pulled my leg up, exposing my hole, I sighed as I felt his tongue rake across my freshly washed pucker. I let his cock fall from my mouth and rolled onto my back. My legs instinctively went straight up so that my rosebud could fully bloom. I looked between my legs to see a smiling Mitch lick his lips and move in.

My eyes rolled back in my head as Mitch went to work on my hole. His talented tongue was driving me crazy, but I needed more. I panted, “Give me that cock.”

My request was answered in seconds, Mitch was pushing his pole into my ass, and he pushed his tongue down my throat. I could stay in this position forever. I had my arms wrapped around his back and my legs around his waist as Mitch started to pound me. He knew just how I liked it and he was certainly on his game tonight.

My leaking cock was trapped between our heaving stomachs, and I felt my nuts start to tighten. My love juices were reaching their boiling point. I tightened my legs on Mitch, pulling him in to hit my sweet spot one more time. My cock exploded, sending my hot seed all over our stomachs, gluing us together.

Mitch groaned, my constricting ass muscled sent him over the edge. I felt my insides heat up as his love lava began to flow freely. We were blowing our hot breath into each other’s mouth as our bodies went limp.

Mitch slowly lifted his head and looked into my eyes. He smiled “Welcome home.”

I nodded, “I think I’m going to like it here, very much.”

After a little more kissing and another quick shower, we crawled into bed. We fell asleep in each other’s arms and woke the next morning, not having moved an inch.

Over the next couple of months, my brother and sister all came to see our new house, bringing their kids along. Of course, Beth and Kyle and the boys came over many times too. Adam and Molly had their baby and visited us as well. They all had given their suggestions for what we should use the two empty bedrooms for.

After one of those visits, Mitch and I relaxed on the couch.

He asked, “What did you think of your sister’s suggestion of turning one of the rooms into a home office?”

I shrugged, “Yeah, I heard her say that. I also like Adam’s idea to make it a workout room too.”

Mitch nodded, “Or… We could use the rooms for their intended purpose.”

I said, “Sure, mom said we could have grandma’s bedroom set. We don’t get too many overnight guests, but a guest room would be nice.”

Mitch paused for a minute, then said, “What about what Joan said when she showed us the house?”

I furrowed my brow, “What did she say?”

He took a breath, “That the rooms would be great for little ones.”

I began to understand what Mitch was getting at. I asked, “Mitch, do want to have kids?”

His face turned a little red as he shrugged, “I guess seeing all our brothers and sisters with their kids, I guess maybe I have thought about it, a little bit.”

I grinned, “Mitchell has baby fever.”

He rolled his eyes, “Haven’t you ever thought about it?”

I gave him a peck on the lips, “I suppose I have. If that is something you want, then I think we need to talk about it. I’m certainly not opposed to the idea.”

We talked about it for the next two weeks. I was getting more excited about the idea every time we discussed the possibility of having kids. We started to research our options and even looked into adoption. Mitch can home one night with some information on in vitro and a surrogate. We both liked the idea and began our search for a fertility clinic.

We found one that was very reputable and called to make an appointment. Dr. Renee Phillips greeted us and gave us all the information. She told us that they had egg donors as well as sperm donors. She also had a list of women that were willing to carry and deliver the baby, and most didn’t want to be a part of the child’s life. They were doing it for the money; most were college students looking for help with their tuition. They all had been through extensive health background checks and drug screenings.

She also told us that we could both provide sperm, but only one of our specimens would be used. They would fertilize the eggs and use the most viable one. We looked through all the profiles of both the egg donors and surrogates and finally made our selection. We chose an egg donor that actually looked like she could be Mitch’s sister. The same dark hair, eyes and skin, she was beautiful. The surrogate was a sweet girl that just wanted to help a couple who wanted to have a family, she was in her last year of college. We scheduled it so that the baby would be born after the end of the school year so that she wouldn’t miss any classes.

It took a couple of times, but she was finally pregnant and by the end of the summer, Mitch and I would be dads. We had no idea who’s sperm was used, and we didn’t care. We attended all the doctor appointments and made sure our surrogate had everything she needed. As the due date approached, we were so nervous and so excited, it was all we could talk about.

We were at work when we got the call, we both rushed to the hospital. We really didn’t need to rush as the next four hours just seemed to drag by. Thankfully we had a nice nurse that would come out every half hour to update us. She reassured us that everything was fine and that it was normal to take this long.

At 7:38, she came into the waiting room with a big smile and said, “Congratulations dads, the baby is perfect and healthy. He’s 20 inches long and weighs 7 pounds and 8 ounces.”

Mitch started to hyperventilate, “Did you say he?”

She nodded, “Yes, it’s a boy.”

We hugged each other as the tears started to flow. She said, “Would you like to come meet your son?”

We both nodded as she continued, “We have a room all set up for you to both spend the night. Sorry but we only have single beds, so we will put the baby in his crib between them.

I said, “That’s fine.”

The hospital was being so great about everything, they wanted us to stay the night just as a precaution and we could take our son home the next day. The nurse led us to our room and started to give us daddy lessons as another nurse brought in the baby. Mitch sat in the rocking chair as she placed the baby in his arms. From the look in his eyes, Mitch was already in love. Of course, I was in love with the little guy as soon as I saw him too. I sat on the arm of the chair with my arm around Mitch.

I smiled as I looked at our bundle of joy, it was clear that Mitch’s little swimmers were stronger than mine. The little guy had full head of dark hair and most beautiful dark skin. After the nurse gave us few pointers, she smiled and said, “I’ll give you a little time, but at some point, we will need a name for the little man, to put on the birth certificate.”

We nodded as she walked out of the room. Mitch stood and handed the baby to me as soon as I was sitting in the chair. We had talked about a few names but had not decided on anything yet.

Mitch ran his finger along the baby’s cheek and said, “What do you think about naming him Adam?”

I smiled, “I love that your brother is so special, and he means a lot to you. But, how about we use Adam as a middle name?”

Mitch paused, “Um… Okay, what did you have in mind for his first name?”

I stared into his eyes and said, “Joshua.”

Mitch began to sob as he kissed my forehead, “Joshua Adam, I love it. I love him and I love you.”

The next six months were a blur, no sleep and lots of advice from mom, Beth and Molly. We got into our routine and we couldn’t be happier. So happy in fact, that a few months later, we decided to repeat the whole process all over again. Little Josh needed a sibling.

We had mentioned that we were thinking of adding to our little family to Beth and Kyle that last time we were together. A week later, Beth called and invited us to their house for dinner.

After we ate, Beth said, “I had a doctor’s appointment this week.”

I asked, “Is everything okay?”

She smiled, “Yes, everything is good. It was just a routine checkup. But I asked my doctor a few questions.”

I was confused, “Okay, about what?”

She took a deep breath, “If you guys are serious about having another baby, I would be willing to give you an egg and carry the baby.”

Mitch and my eyes went wide, Mitch asked, “Are you serious?”

Beth nodded, “Yes, we would love to be part of this for you.”

I looked at Kyle, “Is this okay with you?”

Kyle grinned, “Yes, we have talked about it a lot over the last couple of days and I am good with it.” He chuckled, “I think Beth was going to do it even if I wasn’t on board.”

Again, it took a couple of tries, but 11 months later we were in the same waiting room as the nurse came out and said, “We have a beautiful little girl waiting to meet her dads.”

This time, it was clear that my little swimmers won out, and she even had Alex’s eyes. I should say Alex and Beth’s eyes. She was beautiful.

It was now turn to sob when Mitch said, “I think we should name her Alexandrea Elizabeth.”
