Hudson:

In the days that followed my life was a blur.  My inner family circle had contracted and expanded.  Losing my mom should not have been this hard, but somehow, I could not wrap my head around the fact that I no longer had someone I could call mom.  Even though she was an absentee parent, I still rationally had a “mom”.  Now, I didn’t.  However, on the bright side Sam and Wade have been supportive, as well as Austin of course.  I do not know what I would do without him, Mike and Alice.  They have stepped up for Jimmy and I like no other.  I guess it shouldn’t really surprise me, they have been there in one way or another for me since elementary school.

The days slid by and I was back at school and baseball practice.  We had a huge game coming up it was against one of those private academies, where they can recruit and give scholarships to whomever they want.  They have kids of MLB players and more.  Coach has them scouted well but it will likely be our toughest test.  The school days drone on and I just want to get to Friday.

After practice Austin has finished his workout with Cole, and he waits for me in the locker room.  I am finally back to feeling like myself.  Instead of showering I threw my stuff in my bad and headed to where Austin was setting waiting.  I walked over and set down beside them and just said, “thank you”.  He gently brushed his hand against mine and replied, “always here for you”.  We locked pinkies and just set there.  It was subtle but comforting.  All I wanted to do was have him hug and hold me like we do in private, and right now in this moment I would not care who seen.  A couple guys looked across at us, and no one said a word, a few guys just smiled and nodded.

We packed up and headed out.  When we pulled down the driveway there were cows out everywhere.  We stopped and could see Mike and Jimmy heading around them.  Austin hopped out and whistled for them to go ahead and open gates we would herd them in.  We slowly walked them down the lane and into the west pasture.  As we closed the gate Austin asked what happened, and Mike said one of the water gaps was out on the Becket place.  He replied damn, yeah, I should have thought about them after all the rain.  We then walked back to the jeep, and Austin said, he probably should go help fix that before dinner.  I said, “can I help”.  He smiled and said, “you sure, it’s gonna be a muddy shit show”.  I said, “hey sounds like my life, so I am a perfect candidate to help”.  Then I laughed, for the first time in several days, then he started laughing and somehow, we both just roared all the way to the house.

We took our stuff in and changed and told Mike we were going to fix the water gap.  He tried to convince us to leave it the cows were moved, but we said nah we’ve got this.  He just said “ok, be careful and take a radio”. We grabbed a couple of panels, a two-way radio, and hopped in the farm truck.  As we were pulling out Sam hollered at us and asked where we were going.  We explained what we were going to do and he asked if he and Wade could tag along, I said, “sure, but you will need to bring the side by side or one of you has to ride on my lap”.  They both chuckled, and Sam said, “well bud you are smaller so you’d be riding on Wade’s lap, but instead we will take this”.  The hopped in and followed us.

Austin:

It was good to hear Hudson laugh again.  He has a laugh is so infectious that I began laughing hysterically too.  In the locker room he set down by me and laced his pinky into mine and all I wanted to do was snatch him up and hold him tight, others be damned, but I do not think he is ready for that yet.  Meanwhile back at the ranch we are setting here looking at a blown out water gap, and from the looks of it, it’s good that Sam and Wade are here too.  The panels and cable that holds them are all gone.  I grab supplies out of the truck and kind of direct traffic.  I say alright boys, “anyone afraid of water”.  Sam and Wade look at me and said, “what is this word afraid you speak of”.  I chuckle and say, “fair enough”.  So, I tell them someone will need to go with me with the end of the cable and one panel on the other side and two stay over here.  Wade volunteers.  We anchor the cable and traverse down the embankment, we begin crossing the creek and the water reaches our waists, we slog out the other side and up to the other anchor.  We hook it up and then attach the panel, Sam and Hudson are quick studies they are attaching their side too.  We wire them together in the middle and viola we now have the gap fixed.  Back through the water we go.

We get back to the truck, and I take off my boots, socks and begin to unbutton my pants.  Three sets of eyes are now on me. I stop and say, “what, I’m not driving back in wet jeans”.  I shuck my pants and underwear I get an immediate whistle from Hudson and Sam says damn bro good for you and they high five.  I am not a bit shy, but I pull on the athletic shorts I brought with me.  Wade is standing there just as wet as me, I hold up a pair of shorts and say, “yours if you want em”.  He says, “oh fuck yeah one thing I hated about drills was running in wet pants and boots.  He pulls off his boots, and pants, and we all note he is sans underwear.  Sam says, “oh yeah he likes to free ball it”.  Hudson then returns the congratulations to his brother and they both laugh.  We then get everything gathered up and head back to the house.  Dad is happy that we got that done, and he asks if we would help move the cows back to that pasture again.  We all nod in agreement; I throw on some tennis shoes and Wade grabs some dry boots and off we go again.  Hudson and I take one of the 4 wheelers, and go ahead and get the gates open, then circle back and flank them to keep them moving along.  It only takes a short time to get this done.  I tell dad that we are going to ride the rest of the fence and make sure there are no trees down or anything.  Plus, this can be alone time, I have felt Hudson grinding behind me on this ATV and fuck if he hasn’t worked me up.

We begin riding the fence and it is clear the Hudson has the same idea as me.  I feel his hands slip from my waist into my shorts, he then grabs my turgid cock, and I groan.  I feel his erection behind me and fuck I need him.  I have not pushed it, and we have not had sex all week.  We go on this way to the end of the fence row.  I turn off the ATV and spin around and am now facing Hudson.  I pull him in for a deep kiss, his hands are now both cupping my ass.  I reach down and unbutton his pants, I push him back and he lays back on the rack.  I devour his beautiful cock.  There is nothing but primal need in this act, we are both pent up and want it badly.  He pulls my head off; I am panting now.  I say, “stay there, I’m gonna ride you like a rented mule”.  He snickers and says “giddy up”.  I slick his cock and spit in my hand.  I straddle him and slowly lower myself onto him.  My ass is screaming but I don’t care, I sink all the way down.  Hudson hisses, “fuck Aus”.  Fuck is right, I begin my ride, I am sliding up and down and grinding for all my worth.  I feel my balls tighten and my hole clinches and I shoot off my load all over his shirt that he still has on, but continue pounding on his cock.  I am lost in the sensation, then I feel Hudson tense under me.  He lunges up to meet me and cries out, “fuck yeah”.  He unleashes a torrent into me and the last of my orgasm squeezes out of my deflating cock. I set there on him as he softens.  He looks up at me and gives me that famous Hudson grin and says, “babe, I knew I needed in you as soon as you stripped down at the creek”.  I smiled and pulled him up for a kiss.

We composed ourselves as much as two horny teens can and made our way back to the house.  We pulled into the barn, our plan was to sneak up the back stairs to our room. However, Sam and Wade were there looking over my grandpa’s old 1949 Ford Truck.  We go off the 4-wheeler and started talking to them a bit.  Wade is a mechanic and Sam knows a lot too.  I told them I started to go through it a couple summers ago and what all I had done with dad.  I told them I really wanted to get it fixed up better now to match the 59 Galaxie.  Wade, said he’d love to help maybe we could do it together this summer.  Hudson, said, “this summer, does that mean you are going to stay around”?  I could see a glossy sheen in his eyes as he said this.  Sam said, “well yeah we actually have talked it over and we are both going to sell our houses and see about moving here and maybe starting a mechanics shop and construction company”.  Then Hudson bolted to Sam and hugged him.  Sam was surprised by this.  Hudson composed himself and said, “sorry”.  Sam, laughed and said no worries, “but I could have done without whatever is wet on your shirt”.  We looked at each other and laughed.  Sam then said, “oh fuck really, is that, damn it you two”.  Wade caught on and barked out in laughter, “oh to be a teenager again”.  I said, “well maybe we should go clean up before dinner”.  Sam laughed and said, “uhhh yeah good idea”.

We made our way upstairs via the back stairs and made it into the shower.  As we were cleaning up Hudson began again massaging my back and he pulled up close behind me, hard again.  I instinctively pushed back against him.  He growled in my ear, “can I”.  I said, “all yours babe”.  I was still slick with his remnants from earlier, he slid in with little resistance, I certainly was not resisting.  I wanted him.  He began exploring my body with his hands and he brushed over my nipples, which were now as erect as my dick.  I hissed, and he leaned in and whispered, “that feel good”.  I grunted, “yes babe”.  He kept fucking me and began tweaking my nipples, then he began planting kisses on my neck and back.  I completely relaxed into him, my body gave him the ‘take me’ signs, and take me he did.  He held me tight and made me his all over again.  I heard him say, “Aus, cum”.  I was not sure if that was an order or warning.  Either way, hearing him say that felt like instruction and I furiously fisted my cock.  I felt him push into me to the hilt and tensed, just as I tensed and shot off my second load in an hour, and he finished inside of me.  We stood there under the hot shower.  Our breathing returned to normal.  He then said, “fuck Aus, that was awesome, and I’m sorry”.  I said, “sorry why”.  He said well you now have another bite mark on your back”.  I laughed and said, “well hope you have had your rabies vaccine”.  We both laughed.

We dried off, dressed and made our way down the stairs.  Honestly my legs were still a bit like jelly, but I made it.  We got to the kitchen, and mom had made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and broccoli and Sam was there in the kitchen with her, he said, “brownies are done”.  He pulled them out of the oven.  It all looked awesome.

We set down, and all dug in. There was plenty of small talk, dad continued his full court press recruiting of Sam and Wade to move here and build a business.  The just smiled at each other and shared their plan.  It was at this point; Hudson took my hand under the table.  Jimmy looked up from his plate and said, “you’re gonna move here and live with us”.  Sam smiled and said, “no buddy we will get a house of our own”.  Jimmy then got a confused look on his face and said, “where will I live”.  Mom spoke up and said, “well Jimmy we sort of planned on you and Hudson staying here with us”.  He said, “oh good, I like it here, it’s safe”.  Everyone got quiet at the table and Hudson said, “Jimster you never have to worry about anything like that again”.  I was a bit confused now.  Hudson squeezed my hand under the table and looked at me.  I looked at Jimmy and just winked and said, “bud our room is always open to you too”.  He smiled back at me.  Sam then spoke up and said, “once we are settled you are welcome at our house anytime, and there will be no safer place than with 2 former special forces soldiers”.  Jimmy just smiled bigger and mom said, “we are all here for you hun”.  That warm smile she has exudes home.

We finished up dinner and Sam grabbed the brownies and some homemade vanilla ice cream he concocted somehow.  We dove in and wow they were delicious.  We were all enjoying dessert, and I said, “Sam oh Sam, where did you learn to cook like this and how are you so fit cooking like this”.  He chuckled and said, “well I cooked for a lot of the guys we have been stationed with over the years, so I share a lot, also Jane was a fabulous cook and she was a great teacher but never used a recipe so it’s all rattling around in my noggin”.  Wade said, “and that’s what scares us, hopefully you don’t jumble a recipe and range estimation formula”.  Sam jammed Wade in the side and they both laughed.

We finished up and cleaned the table and kitchen.  Sam and Wade retired to the pool house, we headed upstairs with Jimmy and his entourage.  We brushed our teeth and Jimmy was setting on the other bed.  He popped up and hugged Hudson and then me.  He said, “I love you guys, thank you for keeping me safe”.  There it was again.  Hudson picked him up in a hug hold.  Jimmy wrapped his legs around his waist.  Hudson, said, “where you sleeping buddy”.  Jimmy said, “my room”.   Hudson said, “ok, let’s get you tucked in.  They went in the hall and were followed by Max and Loki.

I cleaned up and climbed in bed, about 10 minutes later Hudson returned, closed the door, stripped and jumped in bed.  He planted a big kiss on me and settled in.  I said, “Jimster all settled in”.  He said, “yeah, he’s good”.  I then said, “what was all the talk at dinner about safety”.  Hudson fell quiet and said, “well, the trailer park was not always the safest place, there were some unsavory characters there, a lot of things a young boy should not see or have to deal with”.  He then said, “but I protected him as best I could and sheltered him from a lot there”.  I then said, “oh, but Hudson, who protected you when you were younger”.  He looked at me and said, “ummmm well, you kinda did”.  I quizzically said, “me, how”.  He said, “well all the meals here, sleepovers, rides to and from school”.  I said, “I was, just being a friend”.  He said, “exactly”.  I just pulled him in for a hug.

Hudson:

We fell asleep that night after I confessed to Austin that he had been my safety blanket for many years.  The next morning, I woke up in his arms, and I think for the first time in my life I finally understood family.  This had been a foreign entity to me, something that you don’t really think of until you do.  Family does not have to mean blood related there can be the family that you choose, or in this case chooses you.

The next few days were good, school, practice, meals at home.  Hanging out with friends like “normal” high school kid should do.  It was getting warmer we would jump in the pool after school, albeit a bit chilly.  Austin, Sam, and Wade had moved the old pick up into a different garage to begin working on it more.  Meals, conversations, homework, and life came and went just as it should.  I felt carefree in a way that I never knew I could.

Sam:

It was nice meeting everyone here and getting a chance to know the Tuckers, and my brothers.  I got the feeling there was more a dark past in their lives that only they knew.  I got that, I did not experience a bad childhood, just one that was more sterile.  Sure, Gary and Jane gave me everything I needed and more, and I was thankful for that.  But it just hit different seeing Alice all Jimmy “hun”, hold his hand, hug him and such.  The Baldwin’s were definitely not huggers.

When I graduated, I immediately joined the Army, Gary’s words were, “it’ll make a man out of you”.  I guess he was right in a way.  It showed me the world, but also showed me some of the underbelly of the world.  Over the years, tours, and deployments I had seen things that even Wade and I do not talk about.  We both consider ourselves lucky we have not suffered any major psychological, emotional, or physical damage.  I think that is why we both made the decision to get out.  He wrapped up in January, and I just submitted my paperwork and would be done in a mere 3 weeks now.  I count myself as one of the lucky ones, not only did I learn some life lessons, but I was also able to meet the man of my dreams.  I never would have thought that on our first assignment together.

We were stationed on the face of the sun in the sandbox, and there was little to do except play cards, drink, and stare at each other.  Well, we were both and the first and last.  It started with a card game, that escalated to a stare down, and rising bets and tension.  Eventually he won.  Oh, it was not what you would think, we were playing cribbage, that asshole skunked me.   This led to rematch after rematch, eventually we just stayed in our tent and played, which led to more stares, which led to me undressing him with my eyes and eventually my hands.  We kept that part very buttoned up. The first time I felt his hand on my neck and his lips on mine felt hotter than the nuclear fusion of the sun.  We were both inexperience and fumbled through it like Tom Brady trying to tuck the football against the Raiders.  It was clumsy, quick and a bit awkward, but forever changed our trajectories. We continued that deployment and fortunately were never back there, however, that did not stop us from finding a way to each other.

Today, here we are looking at properties in the Midwest, we found the perfect one, it has a large pole barn for construction supplies and equipment, a detached garage complete with lift, a modest 3 bedroom fixer upper, and 25 acres, all for less than my house in Texas will sell for.  I am not sure why more people haven’t figured this out yet, but I am glad they haven’t.  Wade and I are setting at the small table in the pool house, sorting through paperwork.  We both have our houses listed and just signed an offer on the new place.  We don’t want to jinx it, so we kept that part quiet.  Between our savings and proceeds of the sales we can make a start here.  Before we signed and sent the offer back, I asked him two questions.  “Wade are you sure about this”.  His response was immediate, “absolutely, this is what we have talked about since we used to dream over cribbage and MRE’s”.  I just smiled and right then and there dropped to one knee pulled out Gary’s wedding band that Jane had sent me when I told her what I was planning and said, “Wade Dillion, will you spend the rest of your life with me as your husband”.  At first, he said nothing.  Fuck, oh no, silence.  Then he burst out laughing and said “yes, but”.  I said, “but”.  He said, “you are not going to believe this as I slid the ring on his finger, he turned on his heels and went to his suitcase and produce a single band, and said, “I was going to ask you too, I just didn’t know the right time”.  We both roared with laughter.  So much so that there was a knock on the door, Alice said, “is everything ok out here”.  Then her eyes went to Wade’s hand.  Her eyes brightened, and she said, “really, oh this is exciting”.  We both agreed but then asked her to keep it a secret.  We didn’t want to distract from the big game, and I was not officially out of the Army just yet.  She understood, but added, “there will be a party when I am allowed”.  This seemed more like an order that a question.  Jane had told me that she had better invited too.

She then hugged us and quietly excused herself.  We turned off the lights and made our way to the bedroom.  There was a frenzy of kissing, moaning, and groping.  Before I knew it I we were naked and Wade was on his knees just like that first night in our tent.  This was followed by him standing and me pushing him on the bed and engulfing his cock, rimming him, and then I slicked up my cock and slowly entered him, I slowly made love to him, before he flipped me over tongued me and then slid in.  This was the best of both worlds our sex life was a bevy flip fucking.  Eventually I end up back on top and plowing into him when my orgasm reached a crescendo, with a roar I unloaded in him.  Within seconds Wade flipped me and like a heat seeking missile penetrated me, within a minute he was launching his load too.  After he collapsed on top of me both in a pool of sweat.  He whispered, “Sam Nash, I love you”.  I replied, “love you more”.

Hudson:

It was Friday the day of the big game.  The winner goes to the final four, in all reality the winner of this game likely wins the state championship.  The 4 best teams were on our side of the bracket this year. It was just unlucky that way sometimes.  The day droned on, I kept running the game scenarios through my head.  I was not starting on the mound; coach wanted me for the later innings.  I was leading off though.  He wanted what he called “pop at the top”.

Finally, it was game time.  Warmups complete were standing down the first base like and they were on the third baseline.  We knew from the start this would be a grind.  The top of the first went well Justin was a young raw talent on our team, only a sophomore, but wow was he good.  He had them in front of his changeup, over his slurve ball, and way behind his fastball.  To the bottom of the first.  I walk up to the plate and am immediately greeted by their catcher who under his breath says, “hey trailer park”.  The fuck did he call me.  I looked at him and said, “huh”.  He said, “we know all about your trailer trash ass and your little friends”.  This threw me off.  My blood was boiling and I was way off.  I didn’t stand a chance.  Just as they planned.  I got back to the dugout and slammed my helmet down.  Clay came over and said, “what the fuck Hudson”.  I barked at him to leave me alone.  Next was Hunter, same result, he returned red faced too.  This was their plan to get in our heads.  Mother fuckers!

This went on for two more innings.  In the middle of the fourth I was due up again at the bottom half.  I called a team meeting in the dugout.  I looked at each player and said, “ok boys, what did they call you”.  I said, “mine was trailer trash”.  Each player named off what was said to them.  Every name was demeaning and meant to illicit our fight response.  I said, “ok these fuckers think they can mess with our heads, we have to figure this out and fast”.  I was due up. I donned my helmet, grabbed my bat and headed out.  This time the catcher greeted me with his barrage, “oh maybe I should call you orphan trailer trash”.  It was at this point, I about dropped my bat and punched him.  However, I asked for time and stepped out of the box, regrouped and stepped back in.  He then said, “Tara say’s hi too, well more moaned it when she was over last weekend”.  That did it.  First pitch fast ball, strike one.  Second pitch ball outside, third curve that caught the corner.  Wait, this was the same sequence as the first inning.  Holy hell he was scripting his pitches.  If I was right 4 was coming inside.  Bam, inside 2-2 count.  I knew pitch 5 was going to be a high fastball on the outside corner. If he hit that spot it was gone.  He released it and I jumped it.  I hit that ball so hard the seams were screaming, and it sailed over the centerfield wall.

As I crossed home plate, I said to the catcher, if I were you, I’d go to the clinic and get tested for every disease if Tara was over last weekend.  I stopped in the on-deck circle and told Hunter what was happening.  Before they knew, we knew, he jumped on the first pitch and hammered it to left center, a stand up double.  Tanner was next a single back up the middle.  Then they took a time out.  Damn, one more hitter and we could blow this thing wide open.  But their coach pulled that pitcher.  Our next batter struck out, next lined out to short.  We had to find a way to scratch out another run.  Clay is up next.  He quickly fell down 0-2.  Then he became defensive, guarding the plate for all he was worth.  He fouled off 3 and took two for called balls.  The pitcher was now unsure where to go, on the 8th pitch, he hit a hard grounder up the middle, over the mound, and it ricocheted off of second base.  Hunter scored, and Tanner was on his way and slid in but was out at home.  This was the lift we needed.  Now to see if we can make 2 runs stand up.

They came out in the top of the 5th swinging.  They knocked around Justin a bit and scratched a run across, but he survived.  We were still up 2-1.  We didn’t score in the bottom half, and coach sent me in to pitch.  I was strategic and a change from Justin.  I mowed them down in the sixth.  We were unable to get any insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.  It all came down to the seventh.  They were able to get to me a little bit the first batter doubled on a pitch that I hung up.  The next batter hit it through and immediately went to back up Clay at home anticipating a play.  Sure, enough Hunter came up throwing from center, it was dead on. I see their catcher coming down the line and Clay set up to take the throw.  Then it happened that fucker didn’t even slide he just barreled right into Clay.  The umpire was right there and checked, Clay had the ball in his glove.  The umpire called him out.  Clay just lay there. I was on it, I went to him and said, “you ok”.  Their coach was out of the dugout in a flash yelling at the umpire about Clay blocking the plate, and I didn’t know our coach could move that fast he hurled out of the dugout and was screaming that their player should be ejected.  The other umpires rushed in.  I was worried about Clay.  He was moving and tried to stand but was a bit woozy.  The umpires ordered their coach and our back to the dugout.  Their coach would not stop chirping and had to be pulled back by one of his assistants.  After a meeting it was determined the runner was in fact out and had been ejected.  However, I looked at Clay and said, “you ok”.  He looked at me glassy eyed.  I called coach over and said, “Coach, I hate this, but he can’t go”.  Clay looked at me and said, “I’ll be ok”.  I said, “coach, health is more important”.  He agreed.  He pulled Clay which meant we needed our back-up catcher Conner, a freshman.  I looked at him; he looked like a deer in the headlights.  Coach said, Ryder get your gear on.  I went to him and said, “ok Conner we’ve got this”.  They allowed him to take some warmups.  The kid is a natural, smooth and smart.  We then met on the mound, I told him about the scouting report on the next better he smiled and said, “I know, then listed off more of the report”.  He said, “if I don’t play, I study, he then said, stay away from low and outside with him”. I cocked my head and he said, “that’s where he looked both times”.  I said, “thanks kid”.  Sure enough he was right I rode him up and it, he frustratedly swatted three times and struck out.

Now the real challenge this Jones kid is the real deal, dad was a major leaguer, he has had every coach, been to every camp and is a powerhouse.  I snuck a first pitch strike by him, now if I can just get two more.  But Conner knows better than to call a fast ball again.  So, we settle on a curve and he wants it in the dirt.  Kid you better block this.  I release it and it dives, the batter swings and Conner smothers it.  Strike two!  Then I look in and he calls for another fastball.  I shake him off, he calls it again, shake off.  Then he calls time.  He trots out, and said, I know this, control your fastball and put it letter high, he won’t get it.  I am hesitant but damn he has studied.  So, I throw it, and he does catch up to it and it’s coming right for me, it’s on me so fast I can’t even react.  I am still in my follow through the ball slams into my right hip, bounces then somehow clips my left cleat heel, goes up in the air, as I am falling to the ground I reach with my glove and snatch the ball out of the air.  I hit the ground.  For a moment silence.  The runner on second is already headed home when I hold up my glove with the ball and the home plate umpire emphatically screams
“OUT”.  Our dugout erupts in cheers and theirs sets in stunned silence.  I find myself at the bottom of a dog pile.

As the dust settles, and the umpires once again met and determined I did catch the ball without it hitting the ground, we won the game and damn my hip hurt like hell.  We all got up the other team sourly shook our hands without any comments.  I gingerly walk toward our stands, Coach pulls both Clay and I, and says, “you two both with me now”.  He has the school nurse with him.  She looks us over; Mike and Alice are there with Clay’s mom.  She says, “I would feel better if both of you went to the hospital and get checked out, I think Clay may have a concussion, and Hudson has at best a bad contusion at worst maybe a bone bruise”.  Of course, we both protest, but coach and parents are insistent.

We give in, like we have a choice, and go with them.  Austin goes with us and to my surprise Hunter gets in with Clay and his mom.  We arrive at the hospital at the same time and walk into the ER.  They were expecting us the nurse is already there filling them in.  We are both getting checked out, mine is pretty simple, moble x-ray, nothing broken just soft tissue injury.  I look over and they are assessing Clay.  His mom is holding one hand and Hunter the other.  They ask him a series of questions, then talk to his mom a bit.  I hear the Dr. say, he did take a hard hit, but he does not think he is concussed, there is no headache, nausea, but they should keep an eye on him closely.  In unison his mom and Hunter say, “we will”.  Then his mom kisses his left cheek, followed by Hunter kissing his right.  I look at Austin and he me.  Austin mouths, “what the fuck”.  Then we overhear Clay’s mom say, Hunter, honey are you going to stay with us again tonight.  He replies, “yes if I can”.  She said, “you are always welcome”, she then takes his other hand.  Clay just looks at us and smiles.

We head out and damn my hip hurts; I see Clay and walking out with his arm around Hunter and Hunter is steadying him.  I wince as we get in the car and Austin immediately says, “are you ok”.  I reply quietly, “yeah, a massage later will help”.  I then wink.  He flashes me that Austin smile and says. “You’ve got it”.

We pick up Hudson’s jeep at school, and head back to the house.  Alice said dinner was waiting for us.  Not sure what that meant until we arrived and Sam, Wade and Jimmy had grilled burgers, made homemade sweet potato fries, with green beans and the most delicious raspberry thumbprint cookies.  We set down and Jimmy announced that we were having seasoned smash burgers with grilled onions and mushrooms, and smoked gouda, sweet potato truffle fries, and balsamic and brown sugar green beans.  He was so proud.  We all smiled and I could see Sam and Wade in the back grinning from ear to ear.  I knew they were all at the game, so I asked, “when did you have time to do this”.  They said, they had planned on cooking anyhow, so they came back here when I went to get checked out.  I chuckled and then said, “what if we had lost”.  Sam said, “well this turned into a hey you won and didn’t break a hip dinner” but originally it was a “hey guess what we are engaged dinner”.  They held up their hands.  There were ggcongratulations all around, except it seems everyone except Austin and I knew.  It seems like there is a lot we didn’t know about. What I did know is I was one lucky dude.

Thank you all for reading.  I am getting into a buys time for me, but I promise the story will continue.  I am already planning this line to continue, a few spin off's too.  I absolutely love your feedback.  I hope you enjoy.
