"My Lord." Pennysort said at the open door, his hand on the knob, giving a slight bow to the man behind the broad desk. The large chamber was dark but he was bathed in the lamp light that spread out over the broad desk and was bent over slightly as he wrote with the quill.
Pennysort...a nickname from his school days, but it has stayed with him, and for good reason. Albert Bancroft was his real name, named after his father, and his father before him. Gangly in stature, Adam's Apple standing very proud, and when he spoke in his soft spoken, almost feminine voice, it moved at almost a violent pace, sliding up and down shifting his necktie and high shirt collar.
Things are revealed and more suspicions arise. A closeness between members of the household of the Cross has a new life.
Authors note: Yes, I am alive, no, no hospital was involved. As some of you know, the wedding was last weekend, not mine (damn) in Tahoe and it was beautiful and I was bit preoccupied. My work schedule is changing rapidly and I am being forced with more mandatory overtime. My writing will have to take a back seat for the ...
Sadly, Carson and Hans are sent off, leaving Callum empty, Dustin is set to task, Thomas is on the mend, and Callum is once again taken under the care of Dr. Stivers....
For those concerned, I offer my humble apologies as I am a victim of technology. The cell tower that provides my 'satellite internet' has been down for the past few days, and for that I apologize, again a victim it seems. I offer what was due on Monday past, and again, I off my humble apologies.
Derrick was sitting at the table, talking with Phoebe. She had cleaned as well as had cooked and Derrick had been thrilled by it all, but wanted the chance to talk to her about her situation with the elder Van Owen, her possible future with that situation. He was concerned about her very much.
Dinner is prepared at Harbroughs as the group, still wary, tries to have a semblance of normalcy in their lives and enjoy what they have together, an interlude between Callum and Dustin in the middle of the night, and then...
To all, this chapter shows something of feeling and depth to character. The circle begins to close in. I will be leaving for two weeks for a training seminar that was sprung on me. I will post when I return. I am sorry but I have no control over it. I hope that this will hold you over for a bit.
"You're so warm." Callum said, he smiled wide and then kissed Dustin softly, "I can't wait for winter to come, to feel you so close with your warmth next to me. I might not ever get out of bed." Dustin rocked his hips a bit, going back and forth and moaned softly in his throat.
Callum is reeling with his own feeling of guilt, anger, frustration. He is interrupted with what he feels by another that has come home as well to the Cross,...
My God! I have struggled over this, this closing of it. This chapter WAS over 110 pages and I had to break it up as it was beyond epic. As some of you know, this has been difficult for me to conclude, so that being said, I will continue with this over some time toward the conclusion. Bear with me, and I do hope that you enjoy this, as it tugs at my heart so. Thank you.
To some, this might seem a bit short,...but I assure you, it sets things in motion and is a bit mindboggling with it's content. The intrigue of it, and as they say,...the plot thickens....
Booms came again, Triborne firing another full broadside into the Avion. the impacts shook every part of the once great ship, jarring everything about them. The Mainmast creaked and groaned even more and finally gave way,....
Disaster and destruction, Callum faces yet another deep crisis as best that he can... to all, again, this is another very detailed chapter, you will understand why when you read, I hope you agree it was necessary to the context.
I present this chapter with great detail written to it. I felt that it was important for the content of the story. This is the beginning of the second night of hell. This was written for you, Andrew, my sexy soldier. I hope you all enjoy it.
Help arrives with the dawn. A daring move is made by Callum to repair Windsong, burial at sea, a crew in mourning over their losses, and a new plan springs forth.
The first night from hell has come for Windsong. Her Captain and its crew fight for their lives, and Windsong is heavily damaged and is sinking. The darkness around them leaves them alone as no help seems to be coming...
The old man continues to recount his experiences to a young author. There is a visitor to the Cross, slowly things are revealed, a young Dustin is reunited with his older brother.
