In the backyard we drink, relax, and talk.

After about 10 minutes, Rodger excuses himself to bed because of a stomach ache. Which wasnt a big deal to us. The big deal was Victoria.

After about half an hour passes, Victoria rises from the ground.

'Where are you going?' Walter asks.

'to bed, I'm tired.' she responds.

'Nonsense! Here, sit back down and drink.' Walter said handing her a beer.

'You seem eager for me to drink...' Victoria said, sounding a bit curious.

'No! Not at all! We just... want you to drink and talk with us.' Walter says.

'Well... you guys wanna drink... then lets drink.' Victoria said popping a beer open and chugging it till it was empty.

Walter and I look at eachother, shocked at her confidence.

'So what, are you joining me?' She asks opening another one. Walter and I grab a beer, trying to keep up with Victoria.

It seemed almost impossible for Victoria to chug down four beers like nothing. Walter and I struggled finishing the fourth one without gagging.

'Geez Victoria, how did you manage to drink those so easily?' Walter said panting.

'It's in my nature' she responds trying to hold back a laugh.

'I'll be right back, I gotta go to the bathroom.' She said walking inside.

We wait two minutes before we talk.

'So do you think it's about time I tell her?' I whispered to Walter.

'The perfect time. Once she comes back, you lay it on her.' he says.

I nod and go back to relaxing. I felt the beers kicking in. I got distracted by the littlest things.

'So how many girlfriends have you had?' Walter asked.

'Well... If I remember correctly, six.' I say unsure.

'Will Victoria be another number?' he asked.

The question caught me off guard, was she just going to be another number? Silence came over me.

'Victoria is like my sister, Elizar. I can't help you if you're gonna scoop her up and dump her a day after.' he said with a serious tone.

My gaze focused on the ground. He was right. It's about time I settled down. If it's going to be anyone, it's going to be Victoria.

'No, she wont be another number. I'm willing to settle down for her.' I said confident.

Walter smiled and nodded.

'Alright', Walter said standing up.

'What?', I say, wondering what he is up to.

'If there is one thing Victoria hates about guys, it's a lazy posture.' he said kneeling infront of me.

I couldn't imagine anything but Walter giving me a blowjob. I laugh hysterically out loud.

'What? I'm serious.' He says.

I nod, keeping my private gay thoughts to myself.

He puts his hands on my shoulder. I jerk away. His hands were amazingly warm and soft.

'Geez, relax princess, I'm only fixing your posture.' he chuckles, being sarcastic.

I chuckle along with him... until I only hear myself chuckling. I see Walters gaze is lost, he stares at my chest.

'Uh, Walter? Are you good man?' I ask.

'Huh?... Oh yeah, I was just... remembering.' he said.

'About?... If I may ask?' I say, curious to know.

'Well... my girlfriend.' he says.

'I remind you of your girlfriend?' I ask him.

He laughs. 'Don't get too cocky of yourself... It's just that my girlfriend also hated when I slumped my shoulders and sat like a slob.'

I felt stupid that I was talking serious.

'So... where is your girlfriend?' I ask him.

Theres a short pause.

'Gone' he whispers, looking at the ground.

A pinch of sorrow swept across me. I felt like saying 'I'm awfully sorry' or 'I would've loved to meet her', but nothing came out.

'Yeap. 4 years ago.' he said

I tried to avoid talking about his girlfriend like if she was dead, Instead, I follow the advice of a book i've read, and try talking about her like if she was on a trip.

'Do you miss her?' I ask stupidly.

'Do I miss her? What WOULDN'T I give to see her again.'

His words strike something inside me. What he says sounds like something out of a romance novel.

'What wouldn't I give to have Rachel in my arms once more.'

The night grew silent. The only sound that I could hear was the thumps of my heart.

'What wouldn't I give... to kiss those beautiful lips of hers... just once more.'

Our surroundings turned dark. All I could see was Walter. A different Walter. A sensitive Walter. A romantic walter. And like a magnet... my lips... his lips... attracted. I closed my eyes, what the hell was I doing? I felt a tight grip on my chin.

'Umm, what exactly are you doing?' Walter asks pushing me away from his face.

'I... don't... know' I say just as confused as he is.

'Well I do... dude, you just tried to kiss me.' he said cocking an eyebrow, looking confused.

'W-W-What?' I say confused

'Yeah, you were like an inch away from kissing me... are you g-'

'No! Of course not.' I react negatively

'Then what the hell was that?!' Walter exclaims.

I glare everywhere... everywhere and anywhere... anywhere that wasn't his eyes.

He walks inside... disappearing into the darkness of the house.

I follow along. Walking to my room in silence. Pure, lonely, silence...

The Next Morning

---------------------

I woke up with a major headache and the feeling of dryness. I wake up and quickly go downstairs to meet up with the rest. I find Victoria making coffee, Rodger reading a book, and Walter looking at the newspaper... Walter... Last night. I had completely forgotten about it. Walter doesnt look up at all from his newspaper, however when I walk towards Victoria I could practically feel his eyes on me.

'Good morning Elizar' Victoria greets me.

'Hey.' I respond back in simple words.

'So... how was last night?' She asks serving me a cup of coffee.

The whole 'almost kissing' incident between Walter and I flashed before my eyes. Yet all I managed to let out was:

'Good'

'Good. We want you to feel welcomed.' She said with a heart touching smile that only she can pull off.

'So... I imagine you must be feeling pretty crappy today from all those beers you chugged down.' I say taking a sip from my cup.

'Not really, one beer doesnt exactly make me feel like a dead person.' Victoria said finishing off the last of her coffee.

'What do you mean. You drank atleast four.' I say remembering last night.

'Thats what you thought, I was actually spilling the beer on the ground.' she said giggling.

I wanted to scream. I didn't have to look at Walter to guess that he was equally as mad. I wanted to yell at Victoria so fucking hard right now. I wanted to break a window and flip a table. But instead I end up saying:

'Wow. What a waste of beer.'

'Yeah, I know. But hey, when you don't let me get my sleep, I'm making you suffer the consequences.'

We both laugh, until we hear the doorbell.

'I'll get it.' Walter says grumpily, dragging himself to the door.

I look at him now that I have the chance to, then quickly turn back to Victoria. I almost choke on my coffee when I hear a high pitched scream. I look back to see a girl hanging herself from Walters neck. Walter seemed surprise... no scratch that... shocked... no scratch that... Astonished to see this girl.

'R-rr-Rachel?' Walter says shakily.

That name rang a bell. Where did I hear it... wait... last night. Walter... his girlfriend... dead... not dead? Shes... alive?

Oh no....
