Chapter 17

I lead the team to the apartment building on Lincoln Ave. Just as we did at the hotel, we quickly surrounded the building and blocked all entrances and exits. We had an officer go to each floor, except the eighth, and inform any residents that were home to stay in their apartment until we notified them that it was safe to leave. We then waited for the captain to arrive with our warrant.

As soon as he pulled up, we quietly went to the 8th floor, just as Wayne Harding had told us, there were four apartments on that floor. We went to apartment 801 first, I knocked on the door, and heard someone walking to answer it. A man in his mid to late forties wearing a bathrobe opened the door.

I held my badge up and said, “I’m detective Ridgeway with the Miami police department, I have a warrant to search this apartment.”

I pushed my way through the door, and asked, “would you be Mr. D?”

The man stammered, “no, my Name is Bob Woods, what is this all about?”

Blake and Ollie started to walk around the apartment, I said, “our records show this apartment is leased to Diamond D Holdings, are you Mr. D?”

He shook his head, “no, I sublet this place from Diamond D, is that a crime?”

Just as I was going to ask my next question, and young man, about the age of our other victims, walks in from one of the rooms down the hall. He was wearing only a towel wrapped around his waist. I look at Bob Woods, “I see the apartment comes fully furnished.”

The color drained from his face, he stuttered, “that’s my um…my nephew.”

I turned to the young man and asked, “what is your name son?”

He said, “Max Palmer.”

I asked, “Max, is this man your uncle?”

Max gave Woods a nervous look, then he looked back at me without answering. I nodded, “yeah, that’s what I thought. I am going to need both of you to get dressed and go downtown with these two officers so we can continue this talk.”

Two uniformed officers followed them to the bedroom and once they were dressed, escorted them to their patrol car and took them to the station.

Once we finished our initial walk through of the apartment, we moved on to apartment 802.

Before I knocked on the door, Blake asked, “did you see the lock on that door?”

I nodded, “yes, the deadbolt was keyed on both sides, you need a key to get in or out.” We looked at the three remaining doors, they all had the same lock. One of the members of the breach team looked at the lock and went to retrieve what they referred to as the master key. It was a tool that they use to open almost any lock, mostly used when we were called to do a welfare check, it didn’t cause any damage to the door.

I knocked on the door of 802 and got no answer, I thought I heard footsteps going away from the front door. We quickly unlocked the door and made entry and found no one in the main room of the apartment. I opened the door to bedroom at the end of the hall to find a young man hiding behind the bed. Once we assured him, we were there to help and that he was not in trouble, we took him outside to be taken to the station. We did the same for 803, finding just one young man alone in that apartment as well.

I looked at Blake, “three down, one to go.” He nodded as we knocked on apartment 804.

Joey and Dylan were sitting on the couch, they had just finished eating their breakfast. They again commented on hoping that Mr. Edwards would show up today with some groceries, they were low on just about everything. As they were searching for a movie to watch, they heard some commotion in the hall outside the apartment.

Dylan asked, “what do you think is going on out there?"

Joey shrugged, “I’m not sure.”

They panicked when they heard a knock at their door. Dylan whispered, “what do we do?”

Joey said, “I don’t know.”

There was a second knock, followed by someone yelling, “Miami Police, open the door.”

Joey stood to go to the door, Dylan grabbed his arm, “no, don’t, we have to wait for Mr. Edwards.”

Joey pulled Dylan up, “no we don’t, maybe they are here to rescue us.”

Dylan held Joey’s hand as they walked to the door. Joey yelled through the door, “we can’t open the door, we don’t have a key.”

***

Blake looked at me, “did he say we?”

I nodded, “yeah, I heard that too.” I yelled through the door, “that’s ok, we are going to unlock it from out here, please stand back from the door.”

We unlocked the door, and I slowly opened it to see two young men standing there holding each other. I breathed a sigh of relief, “damn, Joey Fischer, you are a hard man to find.”

Joey chuckled, “I’ve been here the entire time.”

I smiled, “are you two alone here?”

He nodded, “yes, we haven’t seen Mr. Edwards for two days now.”

I said, “well, you won’t be seeing him again, Mr. Edwards is dead.”

The young man standing next to Joey asked, “dead?”

I nodded, “yes, what is your name?”

He said, “Dylan Walker.”

I smiled, “well Dylan, Joey, I am detective Ridgeway, and this is detective Robbins, and we have been looking for you ever since Joey’s mom reported him missing. We would like you to come down to the station, we have a lot of questions for you.”

Dylan gave Joey a worried look, Joey took his hand, “it’s ok Dylan, they are going to help us.”

I nodded, “yes Dylan, you are not in trouble and Joey is right we are here to help you.”

We took the five young men to the hospital for a quick check up. While I was waiting for them to be brought to the station, I went to see Rob, Alex and the other eight guys we brought in yesterday. They had just finished giving their statements and we were trying to figure out what was next for them.

I asked Rob, “how did things go with your parents last night?"

He smiled, “much better than I ever expected, I really should have told them when Cory and I moved in together. I can’t help but think that it went so well because they were glad I was safe, I still think my dad may have a problem accepting me being gay.”

I said, “a traumatic event like this has a way of putting the less important things into perspective. Just take things slow with him, I’m sure he will come to accept Cory, he seems like a great guy.”

Rob smiled, “yeah, he is. This whole ordeal may have even brought us closer together.”

I said, “remember the counselor that the department recommended, don’t be afraid to talk to someone if you need to. Cory may want to talk to someone too, you could even go together.”

Rob nodded, “yes I know, we’ll see how things go.”

I smiled, “good luck, and I will call you if I need anything else from you and to let you know when the court dates are. Feel free to call me anytime if you need anything from me.”

He shook my hand, “thank you detective Ridgeway, for everything.”

Cory walked over and thanked me too. We said our goodbyes, as they walked out the door.

I was surprised when I saw Omar walk into the station as Rob and Cory left.

I asked, “Omar, what are you doing here?”

He walked over to me, “detective Ridgeway, is it true that you have rescued Alex and the others?”

I nodded, “yes, last night, thanks in part, to you coming forward and telling us about that hotel.”

He smiled, “and Alex, is he ok?”

I smiled back, “yes, he is fine.”

Omar asked, “can Omar talk to him?”

I said, “of course, he should just about be done with his statement, I will go see if he wants to see you.”

I went to the interview room, Ollie had finished his questions. I asked Alex, “do you feel up to a visitor?”

Claire walked in with a bottle of water for each of them, she asked, “are you done with your statement?”

Alex nodded, “yeah, but detective Ridgeway says I have a visitor.”

She asked, “who?”

Alex Shrugged.

I said, “I’ll go get him.”

Alex’s eyes went wide when Omar walked into the room. He said, “Omar, what are you doing here?”

He smiled at Alex, “I just wanted to make sure that you are alright.”

I said, “Omar was the one that told us about the hotel, without his help, we might still be looking for you.”

Alex walked around the table and gave Omar a hug, “thank you, yes, I am fine. But I thought you had to go back to your country.”

Omar hung his head, “Omar is not welcome at home any longer. After I talked to detective Ridgeway, Jamal called my father and told him everything. My father told me that if wanted to engage in such activities, I could just stay in this God forsaken country.”

Alex said, “I’m so sorry, what are you going to do?”

Omar shrugged, “Omar is not sure yet, but I will figure something out.”

Alex asked, “do you have a place to stay?”

Omar shook his head, “no, not yet.”

I said, “so your father just abandoned you?”

Omar nodded, “he said that I am a disgrace to the family.”

Alex gave him another hug, “I’m so sorry Omar.” He pulled back and looked at Claire, then back to Omar, “you will come stay with me, at least until you figure something out.”

Omar’s eyes went wide, “you would do that for Omar, after what I did.”

Alex nodded, “yes, I will. I have to warn you, my place isn’t a palace or even very nice at all, but it’s all I have.”

Omar smiled, “I understand, I am also very grateful.”

Alex asked, “detective, are we done here?”

I looked at Ollie, Ollie smiled, “yes, we have everything we need, we will call when we have court dates or need any more information from you.”

Alex smiled, “thank you, thank all of you for everything.”

They turned to leave, I heard Claire whisper to Alex, “he’s hot.”

Ollie stood up and said, “wow, I wasn’t expecting that, it’s kind of cute, isn’t it?”

I chucked, “yeah, cute.”

Ollie asked, “so, was it that cute when you met your boyfriend?”

I raised my eyebrow, “much cuter.”

***

Claire drove Alex and Omar to Alex’s apartment, she winked at Alex as she said, “I’ll leave you two to get settled, be sure to let me know how things go.”

Alex shook his head, “yeah, thanks for the ride.”

Alex led Omar to his apartment, once they were inside, he said, “well, this is it. I know it’s not what you are used to, but it’s my home.”

Omar smiled, “it is perfect, to Omar, this is a palace. You are so kind to invite me to stay.”

They sat down on the couch, “it’s the least I could do, it sounds like you helped the police out a lot. You didn’t have to do that, especially since it seems to have cost you so much.”

Omar sighed, “when Omar read that article in the paper that you had been abducted, I just couldn’t stand by and do nothing. I had no idea that all the men in that hotel were in that situation.”

Alex smiled, “thank you, I really appreciate it.”

Omar paused as he looked down at the floor, he asked, “can Omar tell you a secret?”

Alex said, “sure, you can tell me anything.”

Omar took a deep breath, “I have been to that hotel a few times before for sex, but when I first saw you, I had a strange feeling. Omar has never had that feeling before, I didn’t know what it was. Then when you kissed Omar, well, that was new for me too. Omar could not stop thinking about you ever since you left my room that night.”

Alex said, “wow.”

Omar hung his head, “I’m sorry, I am sure Alex doesn’t feel the same for Omar. I can leave now, I will not bother you again.”

Alex took Omar’s hand, “no, I want you to stay, Alex does have the same feelings for Omar.”

Omar looked at Alex, “really?”

Alex nodded, “yes, I liked that kiss too, and I couldn’t stop thinking about you either.”

Alex leaned in until their lips met, Omar pushed Alex back and fell on top of Alex as they continued their make out session. Alex pulled Omar to his feet and led him to the bedroom, they undressed each other and picked up their kissing as they stroked each other’s cocks. Alex ran his free hand through the hair on Omar’s chest, tweaking his nipples. Omar moaned into Alex’s mouth, then broke their kiss to lick his way down to Alex’s rock-hard dick. Omar cupped Alex’s nuts as he took his manhood down his throat, bringing out a deep moan from Alex. Alex looked down at Omar attached to his pole, he smiled, Omar was so sexy sucking his member. He pushed Omar away before it was too late, Omar looked up at Alex with pleading eyes. Alex gave him a kiss, “I just want to pleasure you now.” Omar smiled as he rolled onto his back. Alex crawled between his legs to feast on that gorgeous uncut brown cock. Alex ran his tongue under the fore skin, then swallowed the rod to the root. Omar’s eyes rolled back in his head as he put his hands on the back of Alex’s head. Alex gave the cock a couple sucks, then licked his furry nuts. Omar slowly raised and spread his legs. Alex got a glimpse of that hairy, sexy hole, he just had to have a taste. Alex pushed Omar’s legs up further and ran his tongue across Omar’s pucker. Omar responded with another groan and pulled his legs further apart. Once Alex had Omar’s hole good and wet, Omar panted, “oh God, Omar wants Alex to fuck him.” Alex gave Omar’s dick one more lick and aimed his cock at Omar’s hole. He leaned down for a kiss as he slowly pushed in. Omar grabbed Alex’s hips and pulled him as far as he could, Alex began to pump in and out. Omar let out a loud grunt every time Alex’s cock hit his sweet spot. Omar let out one final groan as his cock began to pulse and shoot out a huge load of sperm. The contractions squeezed Alex’s overly sensitive swollen member, causing him to flood Omar’s love tunnel with his seed. They continued to kiss until Alex’s deflating cock slipped from Omar’s warm, wet hole.

Alex wrapped his arms around Omar as they snuggled together.

Omar said, “that was even better than the last time.”

Alex chuckled, “yes it was, I am glad you came to the police station today. You are welcome to stay here as long as you want.”

Omar sighed, “thank you, that might be for a long time, Omar has no home, no money and just the clothes that he was wearing.”

Alex said, “don’t worry, I have 500 dollars I can give you to buy some clothes.”

Omar asked, “where did you get 500 dollars?”

Alex laughed, “from the last prince I had sex with.”

Omar laughed, “Alex is toying with Omar now.”

Alex said, “hey, I have an idea, we can go shopping for some clothes tomorrow, I’ll bet we can find you a nice pair of cowboy boots and a hat.”

***

The five guys from the apartment building were brought to the station after they were checked out at the hospital. Ollie and Blake were starting to get their statements, I was talking to Joey and Dylan. I had already called Mr. and Mrs. Morris, they would be here soon.

I asked, “so do either of you know where Tyler is?”

Joey shook his head, “no, we were at his place after we had coffee, I felt a poke in my arm and blacked out. The next morning, I woke up in the apartment.”

I said, “so he gave you a shot? He didn’t slip anything into your drink?”

Joey said, “no, I didn’t have anything to drink after we left the coffee house.”

I asked Dylan, “when was the last time you saw Tyler?”

Dylan had finally relaxed and understood that he was not in trouble. He said, “I saw him the day Mr. Edwards let him go out, he didn’t come home that night. The next morning, he and Mr. Edwards brought Joey into the apartment. Mr. Edwards gave him an envelope and let him out the door. I haven’t seen or heard from him since.”

I was writing my notes as Mr. and Mrs. Morris walked in, Joey ran to give them a hug. God, I loved this part of the job.

Joey turned to Dylan, he said, “mom. Dad, this Dylan, he is who I spent the last week with. Dylan this is my parents, Gene and Ellen.”

Dylan smiled, “it’s nice to meet you.”

Ellen said, “we are pleased to meet you too.”

Joey turned the me, “detective Ridgeway, can we finish this tomorrow, I would like to go home now?"

I nodded, “yeah, it is getting late. Joey, you can go with your parents, and we have a room at the Regency hotel for Dylan.” I saw a look of disappointment flood over Dylan’s face.

Joey said, “detective Ridgeway, would it be ok if Dylan came home with me?”

I shrugged, “it’s ok with me, but I think you better ask your parents.”

Joey and Dylan both looked at Gene and Ellen with hopeful eyes.

Gene looked at Ellen, she said, “of course, that would be fine.”
