Chapter 16

As we were getting all our victims ready to go to the hotel for the night, Claire Owens came running into the station.

She ran to hug Alex, “oh my God Alex, I am so sorry.”

He gave her a big hug, “sorry? What for?”

She was wiping the tears from her eyes, “for picking that guy on the dating app, if I would have let you pick your own…”

He chuckled, “it’s ok Claire, I would have never gone out with him of I didn’t want to, it’s not your fault.”

She gave him another hug, “I’m just glad you’re safe now.” She turned to me and asked, “he is safe now, isn’t he detective Ridgeway?”

I nodded, “yes, we believe so, we still have to find the big boss, but I’m sure that Chuck will be willing to save his own hide and will give him up when we talk to him in the morning.”

Alex asked, “can I go home tonight? Or do I have to stay in the hotel with the others?”

I said, “no, you are free to go, just be back here tomorrow morning at 8. Will you be staying with Miss Owens, or are you going back to your place?”

Claire said, “he is staying with me, and I will make sure he is here on time tomorrow.”

Alex shrugged, “I guess I’m staying with her. Thank you, detective, for everything.”

I shook his hand, “you’re welcome, go get a good night’s sleep, I’ll see in the morning.”

As Alex and Claire walked out the door, Cory Black came in.

Rob saw Cory and ran to him, tears began to flow as they embraced. Cory asked, “are you alright?”

Rob wiped his eyes, “yes, I’m fine, I am so sorry I left after our fight.”

Cory shook his head, “I don’t care about that right now, the most important thing is that you are here now.”

They were still holding each other when Tom and Linda Wilcox walked in the station. Rob and Cory both looked a bit panicked when they saw them, I whispered, “I had to tell them about you two.”

Rob gave me a slight nod as he gave his parents a hug, he took a deep breath, “mom, dad, this is Cory Black… my boyfriend.”

They all stood there in awkward silence for a minute, Rob finally said, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, but Cory and I…”

Tom Wilcox said, “it’s ok son, we can talk about this later, you’re home now, that’s all that matters.”

Linda walked to Cory and gave him a hug, “it’s nice to meet you, Cory.”

Cory returned the hug, “it’s nice to meet you too.” He shook Tom’s hand and then took hold of Rob’s hand.

I said, “you are free to go Rob, but please be back here tomorrow morning at 8, we have a lot to go over.”

Rob shook my hand, “thank you, I’ll be here.”

We got the rest of the guys loaded in our cars and drove them to the Regency hotel. Phil Wilks greeted us at the door, he said, “detective Ridgeway, good to see you again, under much better circumstances. I have the fifth floor cleared for these gentlemen. Mr. Harding told me that they can have as many rooms as they need, for as long as they need them.”

Phil took us up to the fifth floor, I told the guys they could each have their own room, or they could pair up if they preferred. They all decided to pair up as Phil showed them to their rooms.

He said, “I have the kitchen preparing a meal for you, they will bring it up in about a half hour. We have stocked the rooms with toiletries, if there is anything that any of you need, just ring the front desk and we will bring it to you.”

I said, “we will pick you all up in the morning, just relax and get a good night’s sleep.”

Kyle asked, “what is going to happen to us, after you get all this sorted out?”

I sighed, “I don’t know yet Kyle, but we will figure something out.”

Zach asked, “will we have to go to jail?”

I said, “no, why would you? Look guys, you have done nothing wrong, nothing illegal anyway. You were being used to make money for someone else. I think that Social Services will step in and help you find a place to live and jobs, or maybe even help with getting enrolled in a college if you want. Just remember, you are not in trouble here, you were the victims.”

They all went into their rooms as I gave instructions to Mr. Wilks and the officers that were staying in the hotel.

Blake, Ollie and I wrapped up a few things when I got back to the station.

Blake asked, shall we go talk to Chuck?”

I shook my head, “nope, I think he needs to sit and stew for the night, we’ll go after him in the morning. Right after we talk to his thugs.”

Blake nodded, “ok, then I guess we are done for the day?”

I said, “yep, let’s go home.”

He smiled, “good, my wife is making Lucas’s chicken and rice dish tonight, I’ll let you know how it turns out.”

I headed home for the evening. Lucas and Lucy greeted me at the door with kisses and a rum and Coke. Lucas said, “there’s my hero.”

I gave him a slight smile, “yeah, I guess.”

He asked, “what’s the matter, you don’t seem so happy about finding those guys?”

I sighed, “we got 10 of them back, but Joey and Tyler are still out there somewhere, and who knows how many more.”

Lucas gave me a hug, “you’ll find them, I know you will.”

I gave him a kiss, “thanks, babe.”

Rob and Cory went to Rob’s parents’ house from the police station, they all sat and had a long talk. Rob was surprised at how well his parents were taking the news that their son was gay. He was sure that the events of the last week contributed to their acceptance, having a gay son was much better than having a dead son.

They went back to their apartment, and both collapsed onto the couch. Cory wrapped his arms around Rob and said, “I am so glad you are back home, I should have never believed that you were cheating on me. That fight we had was all my fault.”

Rob shook his head, “no, I’m the one that should be sorry. I mean I wasn’t cheating on you, but I went to the bar that night and picked up that guy. Then when I was out in that house, I had to do some things, well I …”

Cory put his finger to Rob’s mouth, “it’s ok, you had to do what you had to do, I don’t care about that right now. All I care about is us.”

Rob felt the tears run down his face, “that’s all I care about too.”

They began to kiss, forcing their tongues down each other’s throats. Cory pulled Rob to his feet as they kissed their way to the bedroom. Cory stripped Rob, then pulled his own clothes off as they fell onto the bed in a sixty-nine position. Rob had missed the taste of Cory’s cock, his balls and especially his sweet ass. Rob was soon eating that sweet ass, pushing his tongue in and out and leaving his slobber all over Cory’s hole. Cory was moaning as Rob worked over his pucker, this only encouraged Rob further. Cory began to stroke his dick, only stopping when he reached the brink of orgasm. He pushed Rob’s head away and panted, “just fuck me already.” Rob got to his knees and pushed Cory’s legs up and apart. He gave his nuts and cock one last lick, then aimed his dick as Cory’s hole. He leaned in for a kiss as he slowly pushed in. They both let out a deep breath as Rob’s cock hit Cory’s sweet spot, they continued to kiss as Rob started to push in and out. Cory let go of his own engorged dick and grabbed Rob’s perfect, firm ass cheeks, pulling him in faster and harder. Cory’s cock was now trapped between the two’s hard abs, he felt his nuts tighten and without even touching his cock, Cory exploded, covering their stomachs and chests with a week’s worth of his cum. The spams caused his ass muscles to clamp down on Rob’s sensitive cock and soon he was painting the walls of Cory’s love tunnel with his creamy sperm. They continued to kiss as they caught their breath and Rob’s slowly deflating dick slipped form Cory’s cum coated hole.

Rob rolled to Cory’s side and wrapped his arms around him, he said, “I missed you so much.”

Cory turned his head and gave Rob a peck on the cheek, “I am so glad you are back home.”

The next morning on my way to the station, I stopped at the hospital to see if Jesse was awake. The doctor told me that he was drifting in and out and that I could see him for just a minute or two. I wasn’t quite prepared to see that good-looking guy that I knew from his picture, laying there all battered and bruised, his swollen face was barely recognizable.

I identified myself to him, he gave me a slim glimmer of understanding. I asked if he could hear me, he nodded slightly. I showed him pictures of Alex, Rob and Randy, he again gave me a slight nod. I then showed him a picture of Joey and Tyler, he shook his head, and it didn’t seem like he knew either of them, at least I didn’t get the same reaction as I had with the other pictures. When I mentioned Chuck, he became slightly agitated, I was sure we were on the right track. The doctor stepped in and said that that was probably enough for now, I agreed and headed to the station.

Ollie and a couple of other officers were already busy taking statements from all 10 of the guys we rescued yesterday. They all knew Jesse but none of them had seen or heard of either Tyler or Joey.

Blake and I went to my office, he asked, “so what do you think, maybe Joey and Tyler aren’t related to this case at all.”

I nodded, “yeah, that has occurred to me too. When I saw Jesse this morning, it appeared that he didn’t know them either.”

Blake asked, “what’s our next step?”

I said, “we talk to Chuck’s thugs, then we talk to Chuck.”

Blake nodded, “yep, seems logical.”

We had already done a background check on all of them. The two thugs had a pretty similar story, they had been arrested for petty theft, assault, drugs, that sort of thing. They seemed like muscle for hire, they had each done some time. Chuck was about the same story, he too worked for some shady characters. So far, he hadn’t been to prison, but I was sure that was all about to change.

We got the same story from both of the thugs, they had been hired by Chuck within the last week and were told that they were just going to “talk” to a few people with Chuck. They had no idea who this Mr. D was, Chuck was the one who found them, and he was the one who paid them. They did confirm that they were the ones that helped with the assault on Howard Edwards, but they were shocked when we told them that he was dead. They said that they were told that Edwards owed Chuck’s boss some money and they held him, expecting Chuck to rough him up a bit. When Chuck gave Edwards the pills, they were told that it was just a sedative, and he would wake up in a couple of hours. They also told us that they had no idea what those boys were being used for when they moved them from the hotel to the country house. They had never seen any of the young men before and had never heard of Joey Fischer or Tyler Pearson. They were going to be more than willing to testify against Chuck, but I wasn’t too sure about how much help they would be with us getting Mr. D. Their lawyer encouraged them to cooperate, he and the DA were already working on a deal, they would probably get 3-5 years.

We went to talk to Chuck Andrews next. He was defiant from the moment we entered the room.

I asked, “Mr. Andrews, would you like us to wait until your lawyer gets here, before we start our conversation.”

He sat with his arms crossed, “nope, there is no need for him to be here, I got nothing to say.”

I said, “very well, but you were read your rights and you do understand that anything you say, can and will used against you.”

He snarled, “I got nothing to say.”

I nodded, “ok, I have something to say. First of all, we have ten young men in the other room right now, they are telling us all about the activities that you oversaw for your boss, Mr. D.”

I could see he was starting to think a bit, he said, “I got nothing to say.”

I continued, “we have also talked to your two “helpers”, they are also telling us all they know about your little operation, and they also told us about the “talk” you had with Howard Edwards.”

He remained stoic, looking straight ahead with his arms crossed, “I got nothing to say.”

I stood up and closed my notebook, “that’s fine Mr. Andrews, we already have enough to charge you with 10 counts of false imprisonment, sex trafficking and for the murder of Howard Edwards. I have the feeling that we have just scratched the surface, and I can promise that when we find this Mr. D, he will turn on you in a heartbeat to save his own worthless ass. You might want to think about getting ahead of this, it may very well help you in the long run, to cooperate.”

I could see that he was now thinking about his options, but remained defiant as I walked out of the room.

Blake followed me down the hall, “do you think he’ll crack?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, he’s a hell of a lot more loyal than most other criminals I know.”

Blake got a phone call, so I went to update the captain on my talk with Chuck and my earlier visit with Jesse at the hospital.

Blake came running down the hall, still on his phone, “hang on just a second Wayne, I’m going to put you on speaker. I’m with Ridge and the captain, tell them what you just told me.”

Wayne said, “hey Ridge, I just told Blake that I am still going through Edwards special accounts. That apartment I was telling you about on Lincoln Ave., it looks like Edwards was using one of the apartments for himself.”

I said, “ok, so what was he using it for?”

Wayne said, “I have no idea, but that’s not even the most interesting part.”

I asked, “what is?”

He said, "the other three apartments are rented to Diamond D Holdings.”

I said, “holy shit Wayne, are you sure?”

He answered, “yep, positive, it’s the same signature that was on the hotel lease.”

I said, “thanks Wayne.” I turned to the captain as he picked up his phone.

Captain said, “I’m already calling for the warrant, you get the team together and get to building right now. There Is no way they can turn down the warrant this time.”
