Ridge

The patrol officers loaded Elliot in their car and left for the police station.

I called the Captain, I said, “We arrested Elliot and found Andy in his apartment.” I chuckled as I added, “Andy was beating the hell out of him when we broke through the door. He even got in another hit when we told him that Elliot shot Ollie. We are taking Andy to see Ollie right now.”

Captain chuckled, “I’m back at the station, I’ll make sure Elliot is kept away from the other prisoners. You should drop Andy off and get back here to talk to Elliot; I’ll call Bill Taylor and ask him to come in to get his statement.”

As soon as I ended the call with the captain, Andy asked, “How bad is Ollie?”

I said, “We only got to see him for a couple of minutes, as soon as Ollie told us that Elliot shot him, we took off to his apartment. But he was talking, the doctor said he should be fine.”

Andy sighed, I was glad he was in the back seat, otherwise he probably would have reached his foot over to make Blake drive faster. As soon as Blake put the car in park, Andy ran toward the hospital. Thankfully he waited and held the elevator door for Blake and me to catch up.

Hannah and Lucas were still sitting in the waiting room when we walked in.

Hannah jumped up and gave Andy a big hug, “I am so relieved that you are safe.”

Lucas hugged him next, “Me too. Are you hurt?” Lucas ran his fingers across the black eye that was beginning to show.

Andy shook his head, “I’m glad to see you guys too. No, I’m not hurt.”

The nurse came out from Ollie’s room. She said, “Andy, it’s great to see you.”

He nodded, “Good to see you too, Nancy. I need to see Ollie.”

She smiled, “Of course, go right in, he’s been asking for you. Please, just be calm and don’t let him get agitated."

Andy took a deep breath before he pushed through the door, we followed him in. Ollie was laying there with his eyes closed as Andy walked to the bed and took Ollie’s hand. Ollie was still pale, he looked a little rough, but I guess that was to be expected for someone who had just been shot.

Ollie opened his eyes and a tear immediately ran down his cheek, his raspy voice croaked, “Andy! I love you. Are you hurt? Your face is bruised.”

A tear ran down Andy’s face as he chuckled, “I’m fine. I love you too.” He touched his eye and said, “This is nothing, you should see the other guy.”

Blake moved a chair next to the bed so Andy could sit down, he never let go of Ollie’s hand.

I said, “Blake and I will leave you guys alone. We need to get back to the station to talk to Elliot.”

Ollie grinned, “Thanks, but I don’t think I’ll be able to perform with all these tubes and wires that they have attached to me.”

Blake rolled his eyes, “Even in your condition, you want to share too much information, Ollie.”

Ollie smirked, at least he tried to smirk. He said, “Besides, Andy and I have to meet our real estate agent in a couple of hours, we won’t have time for any fun first.”

Andy sighed as he gripped Ollie’s hand tighter, “I’ll call and tell him we need to reschedule.”

I laughed, “Come on Blake, Captain is waiting for us.”

Blake and I left the room to join Hannah and Lucas. We were both still chuckling a little bit. Hearing Ollie joke was certainly a good sign.

Lucas asked, “What is so funny?”

Blake shook his head, “Ollie always wants to talk about his sex life around me; I’m sure he just likes to embarrass me. I think he is going to be fine.”

Hannah smiled, “He’s a newlywed in love, let him enjoy it.”

Blake sighed, “I know. I am happy for him and Andy, it’s just a visual I don’t need in my head.”

I chuckled, “Blake and I are going back to the station to talk to our suspect. Are you guys going to stay here or go home?”

Lucas said, “I think I’ll go pick up Lucy from Lisa’s place, then we’ll go home.”

Lisa is a coworker of Andy and Lucas’s; she and her husband Cal, dog sat Lucy for us while we were on the cruise. They also had a lab, Daisy. Lucy and Daisy get along great and love to play together. Lucas and I watched Daisy the last time Lisa and Cal went on vacation.

Hannah nodded, “Yeah, I’ll head home too. I’m sure our moms are ready for a break.”

We kissed our spouses as they went home and Blake and I went back to the station. I knew Blake was probably very tired, he was now well over 24 hours without any sleep. I drove back to the station.

Blake sighed, “Elliot is one hell of an actor. He actually seemed shook up about shooting Nick Houston. I was really feeling sorry for the guy.”

I asked, “Do you think Elliot was planning this the whole time?”

Blake shrugged, “I don’t know.”

Blake paused for minute and then said, “It just hit me. When we were interviewing Marla Nelson, she told us Nick didn’t own a gun. That means Elliot brought two guns with him.”

I asked, “Have we checked to see who the gun is registered to yet?”

Blake said, “I’m sure the forensic team is looking into it, I haven’t seen their report yet.”

I nodded, “We’ll need to follow up on that.”

Just as we parked the car, it dawned on me, Hannah wasn’t pregnant. I asked, “Did Hannah have the baby?”

Blake laughed, “Wow, you don’t miss a thing. I see the great Detective Ridge is on the ball today. Yes, our son was born last Monday.”

I rolled my eyes, “Congratulations. I paused to think a moment, and said, “So, Ollie was the lead on this case?”

He nodded, “Yep, Captain called me after Andy went missing. I came back to work yesterday morning.”

When Blake and I got to the station, we reviewed Ollie’s notes so we could question Elliot Adkins. I was very impressed with Ollie’s notes, he had all the details of the Cody Williams/Eric Swanson cases. It was easy for me to be brought up to speed. I was so proud of Ollie, he really had been paying attention to me. I was now more certain than ever that Ollie was capable of leading an investigation.

We had the forensic report on the weapon that was used to shoot Ollie, Captain had them rush it. As we suspected, the prints on the grip belonged to Nick Houston, but the only print on the trigger belonged to Elliot. They also traced the serial number on the gun, not surprisingly, it was not registered.

The investigator that questioned Elliot and Blake had also left his report. Everything led him to believe that Elliot acted within department guidelines, until he talked to one of the officers that was acting as backup. The officer wasn’t sure, but he thought he saw Elliot put the gun in Nick’s hand after Nick had already been shot. When he gave the report to the Captain, he told him that he would be recommending a deeper probe into the case. He also recommended that Elliot be put on administrative leave until the follow-up investigation was complete. We knew that leave was not going to last very long, we were going to send Elliot to prison instead.

As we were getting ready to interrogate Elliot, Blake asked, “How do you want to handle this interview? Bill Taylor should be here in a few minutes”

I said, “I’m going to sit back and let you handle it. I’m coming to this party pretty late; you are much better prepared to ask the questions.”

Blake sighed, “I wonder how Elliot is going to play this. He sure was able to convince me that he was upset right after all this went down. I just hope I can remain professional, if it looks like I’m going to reach across the table and punch him, please stop me.”

I snickered, “I will, just promise me you’ll do the same if I get a little excited.”

Bill walked in and heard the last part of our conversation, he chuckled, “Do I need to find two other cops to conduct this interview?"

Blake shook his head, “No. We promise, we’ll behave. This is the first time I have ever had to question a fellow cop though.”

I said, “Don’t think of him as a cop, he’s just another suspect at this point.”

Bill nodded, “Exactly, don’t worry about he does for a living, just that he has done something illegal.”

We were notified that Elliot, and his lawyer were in the interrogation room. Captain went into the observation room as Blake, Bill, and I went into the interrogation room. Elliot’s face went pale when he saw me. He looked like a kid that had just been called to the principal’s office. Blake and Bill sat directly across the table from him and his lawyer. I took the chair that was off to the side and behind Blake. Elliot looked a little relieved when he saw that Blake was going to be asking the questions.

Blake began, “Elliot, you should know that Ollie is going to be fine, and that he saw you fire the gun at him. We have found your prints on the trigger of that gun; we have another officer tell us he saw you put that gun in Nick Houston’s hand after you shot him with your police issued weapon. Besides all that, we found Andy Chase in your apartment.”

Elliot’s lawyer asked, “Do you have a question for my client?”

I saw the expression of shame slowly fad from Elliot’s face and a look of rage take its place. When Blake mentioned Andy’s name, his eyes narrowed and I swear, they changed from a pale blue to an evil gray.

Blake sighed, “Not really, unless your client would like to tell me if I got anything wrong. I guess what we would really like to know, is why.”

The lawyer said, “Before he makes a statement, what charges are you going to be filing?”

Bill responded, “Kidnapping, attempted murder and murder.”

Elliot only seemed to be getting madder as Bill gave the list of charges. I was preparing myself to jump up if Elliot decided to get physical.

Elliot’s lawyer said, “Wait, murder?”

Bill nodded, “Yes, he killed Nick Houston.”

The lawyer protested, “That was done in the line of duty, Houston was trying to escape.”

Blake said, “Yes, Nick was trying to escape, but he had no weapon. I believe Nick was even surrendering before Ollie was shot. I think Elliot needed Nick to be the fall guy for shooting Ollie.”

The lawyer began to speak again, Elliot stopped him. He glared at Blake and I, “Yes, that’s exactly what happened…”

The lawyer tried to stop him again, Elliot pushed his lawyer’s hand away and said, “Shut up… It’s no use, they have it all figured out anyway.” The hair on the back of my neck stood up as I heard Elliot’s voice take on such an evil tone.

Blake noticed the look in Elliot’s eyes too. He paused, then said, “Okay, please tell us exactly what happened.”

Elliot took a deep breath, the evil in his eyes only intensified, “I’m sure you know by now, that I went to high school with Andy back in Tampa Bay. I had a crush on Andy ever since I knew I was gay but was afraid to talk to him, I didn’t know if he was gay or not. When we got to our last of school, there were rumors starting to go around that he was gay.

Blake asked, “So this is all about some high school crush?”

Elliot rolled his eyes, “Not completely. It’s also about Jason Winter.”

Blake sighed, “Who the hell is Jason Winter?”

Elliot said, “The only other gay kid I knew in high school. He and I were each other’s first… um… partners. Once we both figured out that we were gay, we started to mess around. Andy screwed that up too.”

Blake asked, “How did Andy do that?”

Elliot shook his head, “Right after graduation, Andy stole Jason away from me.”

Blake wrote his notes, “So you and Jason were boyfriends?”

Elliot sighed, “I thought so. We were the only gay guys, I didn’t think we had a choice. Somehow Andy and Jason got together, and I was not good enough for Jason anymore.”

Blake asked, “Did Jason tell you that?”

Elliot nodded, “Not in so many words, but from what Jason told me, Andy has a very impressive tool to work with. Apparently I didn’t measure up.”

Blake took a deep breath, “So you had the hots for two guys, and the first guy dumps you for the second guy? Is that what you are trying to say?”

Elliot’s face reddened as he clenched his fists, “If Andy would have just been honest, I would have never gotten together with Jason. Both of those assholes stomped on my heart, and then Andy snuck out of town without telling anyone where he was going. They both deserved to suffer.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Elliot is still harboring some high school grudge. A grudge that ended one life and became very close to ending two lives. This guy is seriously disturbed.

Blake glanced back at me and resumed his questioning, “You are talking about silly high school romance that happened, what, 10 years ago?”

Elliot glared at Blake, “It was not silly, and it took me that long to find Andy.”

Blake asked, “Are you saying you have been looking for Andy ever since high school?”

Elliot sighed, “I tried to find him right after school, but didn’t have any luck for the first few years. It wasn’t until I went through training and joined the police department in Tampa Bay that I was able to track him down. Police have access to a lot of information. Once I figured out that he was in Miami, I started to apply for a job here. It took over a year, but I finally got a job and moved to Miami.”

The whole time he was talking, his inflection was flat and he was speaking in such a matter-of-fact manner. It was very unsettling.

Blake asked, “So you moved to Miami just to kidnap Andy to convince him that you were soul mates?”

Elliot’s nostril flared, “Not exactly. Yes, I came here to convince Andy to be with me, but I also wanted to show Andy what it felt like losing someone close to him. Shortly after I moved here, I heard that he was engaged to be married. By the time I figured out who he was marrying, they were already on their honeymoon. I had to think of a way to get back at Andy, just like I did Jason, and if my plan worked right, I could get Andy back in the process. I am sure if Andy only knew how happy I could make him, he would forget all about Ollie. That should have been me on that honeymoon with Andy. I knew him first. I deserved to be the happy one.” He slammed his fist on the table to emphasize his point.

Blake asked, “What do you mean, get back at Andy, just like you did Jason?”

Elliot smirked, “Maybe you should check the unsolved cases in Tampa Bay. To this day, Jason’s murder has never been solved.”

Blake swallowed hard, “Are you saying you killed Jason?”

The smirk never left Elliot’s face, “He asked for it. He liked to be choked during sex and he liked big dicks. I just gave him what he liked.”

Blake quickly wrote down everything that Elliot had just said and gave me another look. We would certainly be following up with the cold case squad in Tampa Bay.

Blake was stunned, as was I. Blake asked, “So then you came up with this kidnapping scheme to get even with Andy?”

Elliot rolled his eyes, “You just don’t get it, do you?”

Blake sighed, “No, Elliot. Please explain it for me.”

He said, “Yes, I set this whole thing up.”

Blake nodded, “Yes, we know you abducted Andy and…”

Elliot let out such a sinister laugh that a cold chill ran up my spline. He said, “Not only that, but I had a plan to eliminate the competition, and I had the perfect fall guy.”

Blake asked, “What do you mean?”

Elliot sighed, “When I moved to Miami, I stayed at the Elser Hotel for two weeks before my apartment was ready for me to move in. I met Nick Houston there the first week, and we started to… spend some time together.”

Blake said, “As in… romantic time together?”

Elliot nodded, “Yes. After being together a few times Nick chuckled when he told me that Marla would have a fit if she ever found about us. He told me about her catching her father with another guy. He said that she had a plan if she ever found out a guy was cheating on his wife or girlfriend with another man. She would get revenge for her mother. She talked Nick into helping when she saw Cody and Jared, and then when she saw Eric and Seth, they repeated the process.”

Blake asked, “So you knew they kidnapped Eric and Cody?”

Elliot nodded his head and let out another one of those sinister laughs, “Of course, I was amazed at how cool and calm Nick and Marla were as Ollie and I questioned them. I was able to play along with Ollie’s questions, and once Nick saw I wasn’t going to rat him out, he relaxed. I think he was more worried about Marla finding out about us than he was about me telling Ollie everything.”

Blake continued, “Where you with Nick after Cody and Eric were kidnapped?”

Elliot said, “Yes, we were together the night after Cody was taken, he didn’t say too much about it, and I didn’t ask too many questions. After they took Eric, I decided to use those abductions to my advantage. I was able to find out that Andy would be with some people from out of town on Thursday night. I was also able to get enough information that I asked Nick to check if they were staying at the Elser. Once he confirmed they were, he watched the bar all night for me and told me when Andy was coming out of the bar. I was sure Ollie would assume it was the same kidnappers.”

Blake asked, “So that is when you attacked Andy?”

Elliot now looked so proud of himself as he said, “Yep, everything was falling into place nicely. There were a couple of perfect suspects, and I had Andy in my apartment. Ollie was starting to figure out that Nick and Marla were the kidnappers, I knew we would be getting a search warrant soon and making an arrest.”

Blake said, “But we didn’t find Andy in Marla’s house, how were you going to explain that?”

Elliot sighed, “I wasn’t planning on having to stay at the station all night on the day we arrested them. My plan was to get back to my apartment and take Andy to Nick’s place. I knew we would probably get a search warrant for his apartment the next day, and then we would find Andy there. I would swoop in to rescue him after Ollie died, or was supposed to die, I would be his hero. He would have to fall in love with me. That damn investigator just wouldn’t quit asking questions and by the time I got home, Andy had cut his ropes.”

Blake was writing everything down; we exchanged looks as we saw the saw crazed look in Elliot’s eyes as he told us everything. He had transformed into something we had never seen before. I have interviewed many psychopathic suspects before, but I have never seen someone go from zero to crazy so fast.

Blake asked, “What about the gun that you used to shoot Ollie?”

Elliot smirked, “I had it in an ankle holster, I always carry a spare gun. One of the veteran officers in Tampa Bay taught me that. You know, always have a plant gun handy ‘just in case’. I’m sure you guys do that too.”

I was just about to correct Elliot, when Blake replied, “We do no such thing! I know all the officers under Captain Green do everything by the book. We would rather let some scum like you get away than to ever do anything that is unethical or illegal.”

I was suddenly proud of Blake and Ollie. Elliot just sat back in his chair, a little bit surprised. He quickly regained his evil glare at us.

Elliot gave a scoff of contempt and let out another disturbing laugh, he said, “You should have seen the look on Nick Houston’s face when I pulled out that second gun. He had his hands up and his eyes went even wider when I turned the gun and shot Ollie. He really started to panic when I switched guns again and pointed my police revolver at him. When I started yelling at him to stop or I’ll shoot, he knew what was coming next.” A look of what I can only describe as pleasure came across his face as he let out another chilling chuckle.

After Blake let what Elliot had just said sink in, he asked, “Was Nick running part of the plan?”

Elliot narrowed his eyes, “It was part of mine, it gave me the perfect reason to do what I did, and pin Ollie’s shooting on Nick. I’m not really sure what Nick’s plan was.” He chuckled again as he reflected on what he just said.

Blake and I just looked at each other in utter disbelief. This guy was deeply disturbed. The room was quiet for a few minutes, as Blake finished writing his notes. He glanced back at me, and I gave him a slight nod to let him know that he was doing fine.

Blake took a breath and asked, “Did you seriously think Andy would fall in love with you if Ollie was dead?”

Elliot shrugged and coldly said “He wasn’t going to fall in love with me if Ollie was alive.”

Blake and I just looked at each other and then at Bill Taylor, we were all still in shock at what we had just heard.

Elliot’s lawyer was just as shocked as we were, he had not once stepped in to stop Elliot. I don’t think he knew what to say. He turned to Bill Taylor and sighed, “Since my client has…um… cooperated with you, would there be any charges that you might be willing to drop?”

Bill chuckled, “You caught me in a good mood. I’ll tell you what, since Elliot was so helpful, I won’t be charging him with perjury for the false statement he gave the investigator about events of the shooting.”

We walked out of the interrogation room shaking our heads, Captain joined us in the hall. He said, “Wow, talk about a Jekyll and Hyde. He actually seemed proud of himself for all the chaos he caused.”

Blake nodded, “Yeah, it was like a switch flipped when I mentioned Andy’s name.”

Bill said, “I’m sure Elliot’s lawyer will recommend that he plead guilty, I’m going to recommend the death penalty but will accept life in prison as a compromise. I will also be talking to the DA in Tampa Bay.”

I could see how tired Blake was, I said, “Captain, if you don’t mind, Blake and I can do all our paperwork on Monday. He’s about ready to fall asleep standing there and I have a trip to unpack from.”

Captain nodded, “Yes, by all means, get out of here. Enjoy what’s left of your weekend.”

The next day we were all at the hospital again to visit Ollie. He looked much better today and was trying to eat some broth. He couldn’t quite handle solid food yet. The hospital had moved a second bed into the room for Andy, one of the perks of being a hospital employee. Andy had gone home quickly to grab some clothes and was going to stay with Ollie until he was ready to be released from the hospital.

Blake also looked more rested, he and Hannah were able to both get a good night’s sleep with both their mothers still helping them. We filled Ollie in on our talk with Elliot.

Ollie shook his head, “He seemed like such a nice guy and a decent cop. It does make sense why he was asking so many questions about Andy though. Wow, he was really good at hiding who he really was.”

Andy said, “I barely knew him in high school, we never really hung out together. I had no idea that he and Jason were together, I would never have gone out with Jason if I had known. Did you say that Jason was killed?”

I nodded, “Yes, he was found strangled and had a rather large…um… martial aide inserted in his...”

Blake chuckled, “Elliot said that Jason only wanted a dick as big as yours.”

Andy blushed as Ollie said, “See, I told you that thing ruins it for anyone else, but I am glad that I get it for the rest of my life.”

Blake held up his hands, “Okay guys, TMI, TMI.”

I chuckled as I tried to change the subject, “Yeah, and when Blake asked him if he thought you would fall in love with him if Ollie was dead, he said that you wouldn’t fall in love with him is Ollie was alive.”

Ollie and Andy held each other’s hands even tighter as they realized how things could have certainly ended differently.

We talked for another hour or so, Ollie told us he would be in the hospital for about a week and could possibly return to work in about a month. We could see that he was getting tired, so we all went home to get ready to return to work on Monday. Lucas was going to be busy catching up and since Andy was going to take the week off to be with Ollie, he would also have to do some of his work.

Lucas and I drove home, and I took Lucy out to the back yard to play fetch with her favorite tennis ball. We had to make up for the week that we spent apart. After about an hour, Lucas came out to join us and of course he handed me a rum and Coke.

He said, “So this Elliot guy is a real nut job, huh?”

I nodded, “Yep, deeply disturbed. I’m sure Bill will also recommend he get some counseling.”

Lucas asked, “Should Ollie have been investigating Andy’s kidnapping?”

I shook my head, “Probably not. Captain told me that Ollie told him he could fire him if he wanted to, but he was not going to stop until he found Andy. Captain chuckled as he said that I taught Ollie too well. I am so proud of Ollie for solving this case mostly on his own and Blake for rushing to help him when Ollie needed it most.”

Lucas smiled, “They are good cops and you have taught them well.” He looked up at me with damn sexy eyes, “Does that mean you would do everything you could to find me if something like this ever happened to me?”

I said, “You’re damn right, there is no way I would sit that investigation out, or trust anyone else to handle it. I don’t care if it did cost me my job, you are more important to me than anything else in this world.”

Lucas gave me a kiss, “Good to know and you are the most important thing in the world to me too. I think I would fall to pieces if you were ever shot.” He paused, “Promise me you will never get shot.”

I smiled, “I promise, I will never get shot as long as you promise to never get kidnapped.”

Lucas sighed, “I promise.” He gave me another kiss, “I love you.”

I smiled, “I love you too. How about we go inside so I can show you how much I love you?”

He grinned, “Is Lucy finished playing fetch?”

She ran up to me and dropped the ball at my feet. I raised my eyebrow as I picked the ball up. I looked down at Lucy and said, “You are done playing fetch, aren’t you?”

She obediently went to the door and we followed her inside; she went straight to her water bowl and then to the couch for a nap. Lucas and I went straight to our bedroom.

Lucas wrapped his arms around me as he pulled me in for a kiss. We were pulling at each other’s clothes as our lips remained locked together. We only broke our kiss to pull our shirts off and fall onto our bed. We immediately moved into the classic sixty-nine position, to feast on each other’s meat. Knowing that Ollie, Andy and Blake were safe only made Lucas’s juices taste all that much sweeter.

Of course, my fingers wandered across Lucas’s ass and found his moist warm pucker. Lucas spread his legs to aid me in my mission and after I circled his rosebud a couple of times, I let my finger sink into my first knuckle. Lucas let out a moan that sent vibrations up and down my rigid pole and I let out another dose of precum. Lucas swallowed every drop.

As if we were following a script, we both released the cock in our mouths and pulled each other’s legs up. Our tongues found the pucker that we were both craving. Feeling Lucas lick my hole only encouraged me to give him the best rim job I could muster. We were both now moaning in harmony.

Lucas panted, “I want you to fuck me so badly right now.”

I chuckled, “I want to fuck you so badly right now too.”

Lucas rolled onto his back and pulled his legs up. God, he looked so hot when he was in that position. My cock dripped as I was moving into position. I leaned down and gave him one more lick before I aimed my pole at its target. I leaned forward for another kiss as I sank in. Lucas’s eyes rolled back in head as I bottomed out inside him. We were both definitely in our happy places.

Lucas wrapped his arms around my back and his legs around my ass as I started to piston in and out. I don’t care how many times we do this, every time is always better than the last. I could feel Lucas’s breathing start to become ragged, I knew he was getting close to climax. The tingle in my nuts told me I was also getting close. A couple of more pumps and we were both spilling our seed, our lips still locked together.

Once our spasms subsided, I rolled to his side and wrapped my arms around him.

Lucas kissed my cheek, “You are so amazing.”

I rolled my eyes, “You just bring out the best in me.”
