Chapter 5

It had been two weeks since Sully spent the night with me. It just seemed as if I was only going through the motions, going to work, hanging out at my apartment, and running in the park on my days off. I had developed the habit of driving up the street that I thought Petey may be on every day after work. I had not seen him, Jeff Parker had called me a couple times, Petey had not turned up at any of the area hospitals or the morgue. At least that was something, I was still holding out hope that he was safe. I had also not seen Sully in that time.

I couldn’t stop thinking about him, somehow, I had fallen for him, I knew I shouldn’t have, but I did. How could a guy that beat up other guys for a living be so kind and gentle when we were alone? Hell, for all I knew he might even have done worse. He told me he wasn’t a bad person, but what was I supposed to think? He worked for a known criminal, I did a small bit of research on this Marco guy, I saw he was involved in a lot of drug selling. He had been arrested numerous times, but always slipped out on a technicality, or one of his crew took the fall for him. He was very good at covering his tracks, and he didn’t care if his guys went to jail in his place.

Mike had noticed that I had been in a daze the last couple weeks.

He asked, “so what’s going on with you Dustin?”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

He said, “you’ve been pretty quiet, and you haven’t been at your best here at work lately, are you still hung up on this Petey guy?”

I shrugged, “I guess so.”

He shook his head, “you know there is nothing you can do to help him, you really need to let it go.”

I said, “I know, it’s not just that though.”

He asked, “what? What else is there?”

A couple of our coworkers walked into the break room as we were talking. Mike saw me looking around at them and asked, “so, would you like to get a beer after work and talk about it?”

I nodded, “yeah, that would be great, it’s been a while since we did that.”

We finished our shift and headed for the bar, we walked in, and Mike said, “I’ll get the first round, you find us a table.”

I found a booth in the back where there were no other people nearby. Mike joined me a few minutes later, sliding a beer in front of me as he sat down.

He took a drink, “ok, so what else is going on?”

Mike and I had started working at the plant at the same time and went through our initial training together. He was the only guy in our training that still talked to me after everyone found out I was gay. It wasn’t that the rest of the guys treated me badly, but they just seemed uncomfortable around me at first. Most of them have all come around once they got to know me and figured out that I wasn’t going to try to “convert” them and I don’t talk a lot about my social life, except to Mike.

I took a drink of my beer, “well, you remember I told you there was someone looking for Petey?”

He nodded, “yeah.”

I said, “the guy showed up at my door asking why I was worried about Petey.”

Mike’s eyes widened, “are you shitting me?”

I shook my head, “nope.”

He asked, “what happened?”

I took a deep drink, “I told him he was gorgeous, and we had sex.”

Mike’s mouth was still open, he finally said, “are you kidding me?”

I shook my head, “no, and he came back a few days later and spent the night with me.”

He asked, “so are you seeing this guy?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, I haven’t seen or heard from him since the night he stayed.”

He thought a moment, “do you like him?”

I said, “yeah, I think I’m falling for him.”

He said, “shit Dustin, what are you going to do?”

I answered, “hell, I don’t know. He’s a thug for some big drug dealer, I shouldn’t have even talked to him, but I couldn’t help myself.”

He swallowed hard, “I don’t know what to say dude.”

I chuckled, “well, I’m really glad we had this little talk.”

Mike shrugged, “I’m sorry, but this is the first time I heard of a problem like this. So did this guy tell you how he feels about you?”

I nodded, “he told me he wanted to see me again. I’m just worried that he will be arrested or worse if he doesn’t take care of Petey.”

Mike asked, “do you have feelings for Petey?”

I said, “if I’m being honest, not really. I am just concerned that he will be hurt, I can’t explain why I am so worried about him.”

He said, “so if you met this guy in a club or bar, you would date him?”

I smiled, “in a heartbeat. I just wish he had a normal job.”

Mike took another drink, “yeah, that is a problem, isn’t it?”

I said, “I want to see him again, or even just talk to him, but we didn’t exchange numbers. I don’t know where he lives, and I don’t think I can go look for him without getting in some sort of trouble from the guys he works with.”

Mike gave me a concerned look, “shit Dustin, don’t do anything stupid like that, you will just have to wait for him to get back to you. You need to tell him all this stuff and if he can’t get a regular job then you shouldn’t see him anymore. Don’t let him drag you into some bad shit.”

I nodded, “yeah, I know you’re right. I guess I just need to accept the fact that I may never see him again.”

He smiled, “there you go, hey, my girlfriend was talking about a new guy she works with. He just broke up with his boyfriend. I’ll bet I could get her to set you two up on a date.”

I laughed, “thanks Mike, but I don’t think I need to be set up just yet. I’ll work this out, then maybe we’ll talk.”

He smiled, “ok, but just say the word and you’ll have date for Saturday night. My girlfriend loves to match people up.”

I took the last drink from my bottle, “is he good looking?”

Mike nearly spit his beer out, “how the hell should I know?”

I laughed, “so you have never found another guy attractive?”

He rolled his eyes, “I don’t know, I have never really thought about it. I mean my girlfriend told me he had great eyes and when I met him at her Christmas party last year, it was the first thing that I noticed. I don’t think I will ever forgive her for that.”

I said, “it’s ok to think another guy is handsome Mike, it doesn’t mean you are gay.”

He said, “I know, and I’m not by the way. Hell, it’s taken me almost five years to get use to your gay ass.”

I raised an eyebrow, “oh, you’ve been checking my ass, have you?”

He protested, “oh hell no, that isn’t what I meant, and you know it.”

I laughed again, “I know, but it sure is fun busting your balls. I’ll get the next round.”

I went up to the bar and got us a couple more beers, his face had just returned to white from the blushed color it was when I left the table. I sat back down in the booth and teased him a little more, he of course teased back. We finished our beers and each headed home. It really did feel good to talk about my problem, I was at least able to get some sleep that night.

I dreamt of Sully and his perfect naked body. That sexy light brown hair that had the cutest curls and looked just a little tussled. His coffee brown eyes that had caused me to melt the first time I saw him and sparkled when he kissed me. A square jaw covered in a two-day growth of the same light brown hair. I worked my way down to his muscular smooth chest, a Semper Fi tattoo on his left pec, a six-pack with that sexy treasure trail that led to his small patch of pubic hair, again the same light brown color. His hard dick caused me to take a heavy sigh. It must be about 7 inches and had just a slight curve pointing upward and a perfect mushroom head. His furry nuts hung slightly down below that cock, they were in perfect proportion to the rest of his body. This was all stacked on top of a pair of smooth muscular legs. He turned around to show off his back with muscles in all the right places. The picture was completed by that firm round bubble butt, God, I could eat that ass all day. I looked back up at his face and he smiled, those damn eyes sparkled when he smiled. I wanted him to call or stop by so bad, I ached.

I was startled awake by a pounding at my door. Once my mind cleared, I threw the covers off and started to stand. I stood too quickly and fell dizzily back onto my bed. I realized that my stomach was covered in cum, I must have been stroking my dick as I had my little dream about Sully. I wiped the cum off with a towel that was lying beside the bed and pulled on the shorts that I had taken off the night before.

I turned the knob on the door, and it came flying open, sending me falling back onto the floor. Before I knew what was going on, the door slammed shut and Petey was standing there with his back against the door. He had already turned the dead bolt, his chest was heaving as he was trying to catch his breath.

He looked at me on the floor, “sorry, I didn’t mean to knock you over.” He held out his hand to help me up.

I asked, “what’s going on? Are they chasing you again?”

He nodded, “I think so, I didn’t see anyone, but I heard someone behind me for the last 3 or 4 blocks.”

“You don’t know who it was?” I asked.

He shook his head, “no, but I’m sure it was that fucking Sully.”

I thought to myself, don’t talk about the man that I love that way. I quickly pushed that thought away and I said, “you need to tell me what the hell you did, and you better hope no one followed you here. If they break into my place, I’m going to hand you over to them myself.”

He ran his hands through his hair, “shit, I’m sorry, I didn’t think about that. I’ll leave, I don’t want you to get mixed up in all this.” He turned to leave.

I grabbed his arm, “no wait, if they saw you come in here, they would be pounding on my door already. Just hang out here for a while, I’ll cook us some breakfast.”

He must have been hungry, because he sat at the table while I pulled some pans out to make some bacon and eggs.

I said, “so, are you going to tell me why Sully is after you?”

He sighed, “Sully is just doing what Marco tells him.”

“Ok, so why is Marco after you?” I asked.

He said, “he thinks I stole money from him. He hired me to pick up an envelope from one of his dealers, but before I got to his place, one of his other thugs, Victor, stopped me and said he was supposed to take the envelope to Marco.”

I said, “so you gave the envelope to Victor, and he never gave it to Marco. Now Marco thinks you took the money.”

Petey nodded, “exactly, Victor called Marco and said I never showed up and now Victor has disappeared, along with the envelope.”

I asked, “how much money was in the envelope?”

He shrugged, “I don’t know, I never opened it. I’m not even sure there was money in it to start with.”

I said, “what else could it have been?”

He said, “I don’t know, I’m sure it was money, but I have always been told to not ask any questions when I do jobs for Marco. I have always taken packages to the dealers and bring back envelopes to Marco, I have never looked in any of the packages, I figure the less I know the better.”

I set a plate of food in front of Petey, and he ate it clean before I had even dished my own plate up. I didn’t tell him that Sully had paid me a visit, I asked him a few more questions. I at least knew why they were after him now, but there was no way to prove that Petey didn’t take the money. I was hoping Sully would stop by to see me and I could tell him about this Victor guy, maybe it would get him off of Petey’s back. About an hour later, we checked the parking lot, decided it was clear and Petey left and headed down the alleys to go wherever it is he goes, he wouldn’t tell me.

After he left, I sat on my couch thinking about him and Sully. God, I wanted to see Sully again and try to convince him to get away from Marco, so we could be together. I chuckled to myself, what the hell was I thinking, it would never be that easy. There is no way Marco would just let him walk away, and I am sure the police would want to talk to him too.

I was just kidding myself, Mike was probably right, I should just forget Sully and move on. Maybe I should let his girlfriend fix me up.
