I went to work the next day, my mind kept wandering back to the day before and the time I spent with Sully. Jeff jotted down a few notes, “well, this is nothing new, all pretty standard stuff when dealing with these types of guys. I am just going to tell you one more time, to stay out of it and let me do my job.”

Asked, “how are you just going to walk away from this?”

He said, “I just ask that you trust me on this, just promise me that you will quit trying to help Petey.”

I sat back and said, “then you need to promise that you won’t hurt him.”

Sully sighed, “Petey is not as innocent as you think. I don’t want to hurt him either, but that will be up to him. I just need to talk to him, I want you to stay away from him.”

I said, “I wish you would tell me what he did.”

He said, “I wish I could, but the less you know, the better.”

I felt my stomach growl, I sat up, “would you like something to eat?”
