Chapter 2

I went back up to my apartment and grabbed the keys to my truck. I spent the next hour driving around trying to find Petey. I don’t know why, but I was worried about this guy. While I have heard about homelessness, I can’t say I had ever interacted with someone who was homeless. I guess I was lucky, I have had times when things were bad in my life, but I always had family or friends to turn to. I know I would take any of my friends or family into my home if they needed help, and I think any of them would do the same for me. It was hard for me to understand not having someone to help me in my life, how could someone just end up on the street? Like I said, I guess I am lucky.

I saw a couple of guys standing on the corner, they looked homeless too. I know I shouldn’t make assumptions, but I decided to pull over and see if they knew Petey. I parked and got out of my truck.

One guy gave me an untrusting look and asked, “you lost buddy?”

I said, “no, I’m just looking for someone.”

The second guy narrowed his eyes, “who you looking for?”

I paused, “do either of you know a guy named Petey?”

They looked at each other, one asked, “why you looking for Petey?”

I said, “I’m just worried about him, I tried to help him earlier today, I just wanted to make sure he’s ok.”

They both chuckled, “Petey’s always getting into trouble, he’s a tough little shit and can take care of himself.”

I decided not to press any further, this wasn’t the best neighborhood, and it was starting to get dark. I waved as I was getting back into my truck, “thanks guys, I’m sure you’re right and he’s fine.”

I looked in my rearview mirror as they watched me drive away. I went back to my apartment and finished doing my laundry, thinking about Petey the whole time.

The next day at work, I was telling my friend Mike about Petey. I didn’t tell him about the sex part, just that he was in my apartment and that I fed him, and he had snuck out when I went to wash his clothes. Mike and I have worked together for over five years, he knows I’m gay, he is straight, but we are still good friends, and we hang out together a lot.

He said, “he was just a homeless guy, you did your good deed and gave him something to eat. If he got himself into trouble, it’s not really any of your business.”

I said, “I know, but I just feel like I should help him. You should have seen the look in his eyes.”

Mike rolled his eyes, “oh God Dustin, you aren’t falling for this guy, are you?”

I shook my head, “no, it’s not like that. He’s really not my type, but I feel like it’s kind of a big brother thing.”

He chuckled, “yeah, yeah, you always were the one to bring the stray mutt home to take care of.”

I shrugged, “I guess I’m not a heartless ass like you.” We both laughed as we left the break room to go back to work.

After work that day, I took a couple trips up and down the streets that I thought Petey might be on. Once again, I saw a couple of guys standing on the corner, I stopped and asked them if they knew Petey.

One said, “yeah, I know him, what’s it to you?”

I said, “I helped him out yesterday and I was worried about him, I wanted to make sure he was ok.”

He laughed, “you might be too late dude.”

I asked, “why, what happened?”

He held his hands, “it no business of mine, but I saw him talking to Sully this morning.”

“Who’s Sully?” I asked.

The second man said, “he works for Marco, he collects from people who owe Marco money and convinces them to pay.”

I looked at both guys, “ok, so who is Marco?”

They both laughed, “this is Marco’s hood, you need to learn to not ask too many questions and head back your own part of town.”

I could see that they were getting nervous talking to me and they were probably right, I needed to get back to my apartment. I got home and made myself some dinner and took a shower, thinking about Marco, Sully, and Petey. Who were these guys and maybe those guys were right, I should mind my own business.

I went to bed and lay there, trying to fall asleep, still thinking about Petey and that day we spent together. I saw that oversized dick looking out of place on that small skinny body. I felt my cock start to swell as I thought back to trying to fit as much of Petey’s dick into my mouth. I started to stroke myself as I remembered the taste of his cum, as he filled my mouth with his load. I pulled at my balls as I stroked, the vision of those eyes looking up at me as he sucked my cock. God, those eyes were both so sexy and sad at the same time. Shit, what was the hold this guy had on me? If I had met him at a club or a bar, I would have never even approached him, I mean he wasn’t ugly or anything, but he certainly wasn’t my type. I felt his kisses, he was a good kisser, I stroked faster. My hand became a blur as I picked speed jacking off to the memory of Petey looking down at me as he rode my cock. One last stroke and my cum was flying, landing right where it landed when Petey came across my stomach and chest the day before. I held my cock and balls as I caught my breath and the last few spasms subsided.

I got out of bed and went to my bathroom to clean up. I looked at myself in the mirror and shook my head. You need to get a hold of yourself buddy, I told myself. I guess it had been a while since I got laid, and maybe I was overthinking this thing. I crawled back into bed and thanks to releasing my load, I was able to drift off to sleep.

The next day at work, Mike and I were eating lunch as Todd, another coworker, sat down next to us.

Mike asked Todd, “hey, is your brother-in-law still a cop?”

Todd nodded, “yeah, why?”

Mike tipped his head toward me, “Dustin here is trying to save the world, he’s looking to help a guy, maybe your brother-in-law can give him some info.”

Todd looked at me, “what is he talking about?”

I said, “this homeless guy snuck into my apartment the other day, he said some guys were looking for him and he needed to hide. I fed him, then he snuck out and I can’t find him now. I just want to make sure he’s ok.”

Todd shook his head, “if the guy is homeless, you should just forget about it. What can you do to help him, especially if he pissed the wrong people off.”

I nodded, “yeah, I know, but I can’t help it, the guy was scared. If I can help him, maybe he could…”

Mike interrupted, “Dustin, there is nothing you can do, or need to do. It isn’t your problem.”

I shrugged, “I know, but I just…”

Todd stopped me this time, “look, you could go talk to my brother-in-law, Jeff at the police station, but he is probably going to tell you the same thing. I’m not sure how much information he could tell you anyway.”

I said, “well, if I at least talk to him, maybe he could have the police keep an eye out for Petey.”

Todd said, “I’ll call him tonight and see what he can do, don’t get your hopes up though.”

We finished our lunch and went back to work. I still drove the streets on my way home, just in case Petey was there. I didn’t stop and talk to anyone this time but went back to my place did my nightly routine of dinner and a shower. I was relaxing watching some tv when Todd sent me a text message.

“Jeff said to stop down at the station tomorrow at 10, he will see what he can do.”

I smiled and text back, “thanks.”

I woke up the next morning, it was my day off, so I got ready and headed down to the police station. I slept better last night knowing that I was at least doing something to help Petey.

I arrived at the police station and asked for Sgt. Parker. I was led to an office and greeted by Jeff Parker.

We sat down and he said, “so, Todd said you were looking for a homeless guy that you thought was in trouble.”

I nodded, “yeah, he got into my apartment when I left the door open, when I caught him, he said they were chasing him, and he just needed a place to hide. I gave him something to eat and when I left him alone for a few minutes, he snuck out and I haven’t seen him since.”

He asked, “did he steal anything from you?”

I shook my head, “no, I’m just worried that whoever they are, got to him and maybe hurt him or worse.”

Jeff gave me a look, “why are you so worried about this guy?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, he just looked so scared, I just feel like he needs help.”

He said, “well, that’s very admirable, but I’m not going to promise anything. Do you know this guy’s name?”

I said, “he told me they call him Petey.”

He raised an eyebrow, “Petey? That’s it?”

I nodded, “yes, I know it’s not much, but that’s all he told me.”

He started typing on his keyboard and I gave him a description of Petey.

He said, “ok, I got three Peteys, but by your description, I think our winner is Craig Peterson, is this the guy?”

He turned the computer monitor toward me, and I saw a mug shot of Petey. I said, “yes, that’s him.”

He said, “well, he’s got a record, nothing serious, just minor drug possession, petty theft. We have had him in for some questioning on some other stuff, he wasn’t a suspect, but we thought he might be a witness.”

I asked, “a witness to what?”

He answered, “well, I can’t say too much, but we have been watching a guy that runs drugs, loan sharking and some other mafia type stuff.”

I said, “I talked to a couple guys on the street, do the names Marco or Sully mean anything?”

His eyes widened, “yes, Marco is the guy we are watching. Do you think that is who Petey was hiding from?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, one of the guys that I talked to mentioned that he had seen Petey talking to a guy named Sully.”

Jeff did another search on his computer, and said, “Marco is the leader of a gang in that neighborhood, we have never been able to pin anything on him, but we think he does some pretty bad things. We just recently heard about this guy Sully, he started to work for Marco about a year ago. He quickly worked his way up in the gang. We think he does all the dirty work for Marco, collecting from people who don’t pay, talking to witnesses and convincing them not to testify, things like that. He is not a nice guy.”

I asked, “so, what do we do now?”

Jeff said, “we, don’t do anything. You need to go home and stay out of this, so you don’t get hurt. I will make sure we check into Petey and see if we can find him.”

I said, “but, what if I…”

Jeff stopped me, “Dustin, you need to keep out of this, let the police do their job. If we have any more questions for you, we will call you, understand?”

I nodded, “yeah, I guess, but will you at least let me know what you find?”

He said, “when I can, yes, I will keep you posted. Now promise me you won’t talk to anyone else about this, I don’t want you getting hurt.”

I reluctantly agreed and headed home and tried to keep myself busy, so I didn’t think too much about Petey.

I ran a few errands and shortly after I returned home, I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door and saw a man about 4 inches taller than me and his tight shirt was filled with muscles.

He looked at me and said, “my name is Sully, why are you asking about me?”
