The next morning, I wake up and go to take a shower and realise that there is no running water to have a shower and walk back from the bathroom after stripping off to have the non-existent shower, I wander back to the “bedroom” down the hall and check my phone to see where I can get a shower.

Thankfully, the gym franchise that I have a membership to has the only gym in Yellow Peak which means that I can at least go there and have a shower which might not be ideal but for now but it’s something to freshen up at and get in a workout.

I throw some clothes on and jump in the car driving towards the gym, exploring the town a bit more seeing that there is a bit more than just two streets but another little pocket that looked like it was meant to be an expansion that never happened with the gym and a few warehouse-type stores in what looks like it was meant to be some sort of retail centre. I get out of the car and walk towards the gym, getting a couple of strange looks from people who clearly recognise me but the receptionist at the desk clearly doesn’t as she gives me a cheery good morning after swiping into the gym.

It’s actually quite refreshing to get in that work out getting the blood pumping through the veins, just working out and getting that burn through the muscles, and getting in a zone where nothing is clouding the brain other than just the music pumping through my headphones as I work out for about an hour. After the workout, I put my stuff headphones in the change rooms and the lockers and head for the showers. I see a couple of guys in the showers just chatting away but use one of the private areas just so that I don’t attract any attention.

I enjoy the shower for about 15 minutes, just relaxing and stretching to cool down a bit before trying to organise things around the house and get myself organised for my first ever shift of work at the Yellow Peak mine later in the week which is going to be interesting. As I wander out and get changed, there are a few more people about and already there are whispers as I get changed about me.  Not sure if it’s about the fact that it’s me or just that I’m somebody new in town, I start to arc up for a moment but decide that it’s not worth it and just finish getting dressed listening in to the conversation and realising that it’s about me and my type coming into town.

I walk out ignoring everyone and head back to my place where my neighbours on either side are out talking when I get home. I sit in the car deciding whether I want to get out and head inside the house or just go for a drive around the block and hope that they go away. Sitting and checking my phone for a moment, I realise that there is no other alternative and get out of my car and head towards my house. Walking in towards the house, I get a good look at my neighbours, one of which is an older gentleman probably in his 60s or 70s with thinning hair and a beard and the other is a young guy, probably about my age if not a fraction older.

Not wanting to bother them or anything, I wander inside my house and just head back to the mattress and crash on it for a few minutes trying to make a plan of action of things. I get back up and head out to the car and realise that there needs to be a way to get power and water connected sooner. I head back outside and see my younger neighbour back outside his house working on his garden I sheepishly head towards him.

“Morning, I just moved in next door and there’s no power or running water and I just wonder if you know an electrician and a plumber to help me get connected a bit earlier than the middle of the week”. The guy stands up and turns around “So the rumours are true, you are Isaac Keppel” he says to me before smiling and putting his hand out “Adam Davies” he says confidently. I put my hand out to shake it, waiting for something to happen but other than shaking my hand he doesn’t say or do anything else.

I smile and get surprised that someone wants to talk to me “Surprised that somebody actually talked to you hey?” Adam says to me and I nod “Yeah, not been the friendliest of welcomes into town in all honesty” I reply as he invites me inside “Not surprised, the folks round here aren’t necessarily welcoming of strangers because usually they bring trouble and the Keppel’s haven’t really ever been popular around here” he says.

“Yeah, but just because that’s my family doesn’t mean I’m necessarily one of them,” I say sitting down, enjoying some hospitality. “Look, I’ll be particularly honest,” Adam says to me “If you want to prove that you're not one of them you really are going to need to make an effort to get people to trust you because it’s not going to come easily and honestly, many people will never trust someone with the name Keppel,” Adam says rather brashly before adding “I don’t trust you… yet but I will be your ally when I can because I believe everybody deserves a chance and the past is the past but just remember what I said”.

I nod, appreciating Adam’s rather direct and brunt comments towards me “I don’t expect a warm welcome but just appreciate the fact that you’ll be there to help me when I need some help around the place” I say smiling and appreciating that I can at least have someone to help me in town when I need advice or something.

“So you needed a plumber and electrician to connect the power for your place didn’t you?” Adam says as he gets out his phone and dials a number for me “Patty, it’s Adz I need you to do me a favour if that’s ok with you? Someone bought the old Thompson place yeah I’ve heard the rumours but not sure how true they are, can you come by and connect the water back up for them, they know it’s the weekend but they’ll take on the Emergency Weekend rates for you and I’ll call Rob to see if he can do the power this afternoon” I hear Adam say on the phone with some angst down the other end “Don’t do this for them, think of it as $400 into the bank account alright” Adam says smiling that Patty has agreed to do the work.

I thank Adam as he organises the power to be fixed up this afternoon as well “Thanks for that, takes a big chunk out of my budget but it’s something that I needed to get done because I can’t go a week without those things and use the gym for my shower every morning and night” Adam smiles and nods “Fair enough isn’t it, so if you don’t mind me asking what happened for you to end up out here at Yellow Peak?”.

I sit there a bit uncomfortable but I start “What other than being an embarrassment and the reason my father could lose the election but seriously Well look without getting into the exact details, I celebrated the college win a bit too hard and crashed my car and just left it and really that was the last straw for my family” I say not really fussed by the emotion of it all now “But look, I know you don’t necessarily trust me but don’t talk about that because nobody knows any of that so that Dad could look good for his launch” I say pleading with Adam who rolls his eyes and nods.

“I won’t but that story isn’t going to be much help to you right now with the entitlement that everyone thinks that you’re going to bring with you,” Adam says quite with a judgemental tone towards me but I feel somewhat in agreeance a little bit.

“Look, I’m not like the rest of my family with all that show and politics garbage, all I wanted as a kid to have a normal life where I could do anything, and yeah alright I did some entitled shit, and yeah I’m not sorry about a lot of it but fucking hell, I’m not a part of my family anymore and yeah I might be Isaac Keppel but I’m not that Isaac Keppel anymore,” I say getting emotional as Adam realises that inside me there is that urge to change.

“I can see that and it takes guts to come out here and like I said, I will be your ally but I’m not going to be your best friend instantly but at the same time if I can see you putting in the effort then I will go into bat for you when you need it,” Adam says as I stand up nodding as I start to walk out the front door. “I totally understand that and thanks for the favours,” I say leaving his house and heading back to mine before Adam calls out “If you need anything then I’m usually always here other than being at the school working,” he says and I call out thanks and give him a friendly appreciative wave.

Heading back inside, I think about what I need for the house and everything do a small bit of online shopping, buying things such as sheets, quilts, and towels just to help get the house organised. About an hour later, there’s a knock on the door and I open to a tall young muscled guy who looks at me and throws his head back “So it is fucking true… I’m too busy for this, call the office on Monday to book a time” he says to me “Patrick is it? I’m happy to pay double the emergency rate to get my water back connected” I say pleading.

“Look, I don’t care if you like me or my family but at the end of the day, Adam got you to help me and I’m not expecting for you to do it for free and I will pay whatever rate you want me for the work ok?” I say looking at Patrick who stands there thinking about it for a few minutes “Alright fine, I need the work to do it and $400 is perfectly fine for the work it should take me about an hour” he says to me before adding “It’s Pat or Patty, not Patrick, only my parents call me that when I’m in trouble”.

I laugh “I’m Isaac and that’s all I ever get called by anyone because nicknames and shortened names aren’t the proper things to do when you’re the important family of the country,” I say with sarcasm and a condescending tone that makes Patty laugh. As he’s working on the water, I use my phone as a wifi hotspot and watch some basketball as I get talking to Patrick, the conversation-starting off cold but warming up as I make a few jokes about my family and things. “You’re not a big a fuckwit as I thought you would be, to be honest, I mean I can’t say that you’re background is particularly likeable but at the end of the day you seem cool enough”.

After Patrick fixes the water, I head back to Adam’s and knock on the door and he answers shirtless, changing his clothes, his slim fit toned chest on show as he opens the door “Oh Isaac, how are you going?” he says “Good thanks man, I was just wondering if you had a lawnmower so I could tidy up the backyard a bit and just get things respectable” I ask really checking out his body.

“Umm usually Danny comes by and does mine every couple of weeks but I could ask if he wanted to help do yours but I’ll be brutally honest, he won’t be anything like the other people you come across here because when he heard the rumours he’s not the biggest fan of your father or the family in all honesty” I still can’t stop looking at Adam’s body but hear him out “Yeah that’s fair enough, anything to help for now because I’ve never had to mow my own grass… well other than the one downstairs,” I say making an awkward joke that makes Adam laugh quite hard “Well that’s some good information to know haha” we both laugh and I feel a connection with Adam as I let him go back to his business and head back to mine.

Heading back to my place, I can’t get my mind of Adam and how smooth his body was and I notice my cock getting hard just thinking about it and I can’t resist the urge to strip off and just work it as I lay there thinking about it. The feeling is weird because even though I’m experienced with guys, it’s usually been when I’ve been drunk or on a bender where I’m just in the mood for wild fun. I close my eyes and think about Adam stripping off as I jerk and get my cock going to the point where there is a massive wad of cum about to come when I hear a knock at my door and hearing that it’s the electrician which means that I’m going to have to have that moment later on.
