Sitting across from Mitch, my interest isn’t in bringing my father down as much as bringing down the puppet master behind the scenes, Brendan is the biggest problem in my life and he needs to be brought down back to earth and into the real world. I start to get into details with Mitch about Tash “So when I was with Danny coming from the gym, he had to call in at the Doctor’s clinic to pick something up from Tash and I got this feeling I knew her from somewhere”.

Mitch nods not sure of what the connection is “So I tried to do some research but it was like she was non-existent given that I couldn’t find a single thing about her”. Mitch again nods “Yeah, she just sort of appeared out here, she’s got family in town but I got the sense that she was never close to them and it was all just suspicious”.

I listen to Mitch talk about how she came straight to town before telling him the rest of the events “You remember the directors of Sunrise Enterprise Limited right?” asking Mitch as he gets out the paperwork that he’s printed off. “Yeah, your bro and sister and then the family friends right?” he asks looking at it “Look at the third name on the list”.

Mitch looks through “Natasha O’Sullivan… wait you’re not saying what I think you are you?” his face looks shocked as he reads the name out as I nod to him. “That’s Tash, Natasha O’Sullivan was Brendan’s girlfriend for about 3 or 4 years before just leaving town abruptly but I know that they were always talking and suspected that they had been catching up”.

“Look, Danny will be absolutely broken by this because he loves her and she’s the mother of his two boys that he would do anything for,” Mitch says as he takes in the information. “I know that and that’s why I didn’t say anything because I don’t know how to deal with it without upsetting him and making me look like a fucking arsehole again”

Mitch puts his arm on me “It’s fine, we can work it out alright especially if we are going after Brendan in particular” his reassuring tone helping me realise that I’m making the right decision. We sit there planning our attack options, I realise that being underhanded probably makes me look like a hypocrite considering that I hated the way Brendan acted with me.

The next few hours, I give Mitch some avenues to look down before I head back home, feeling confident that I can get what I want. Over the next few days, I just head to work and chill out at home not really doing anything as I let Mitch get all the information that he needs to work with.

It’s Thursday night when Mitch rings me “I’ve got something that is going to surprise you,” he says straight away without bothering to say hello. “What is it? About my brother?” I ask considering he is the main target. “Nope, it’s about someone else that you asked me to look into,” he says as I try to rack my brain and realise that he means Sarah. “Wait you found something about my sister?” I ask as I hear him go “mmhm”.

“Don’t leave me in suspense Mitch” I say wanting the information quickly, “I did a medical search like you asked and I only found results that matched for a Dr Eliza Keppel with nothing for a Dr Sarah Keppel”. Sitting there I shake my head, confused about the fact nothing showed up “What do you mean nothing for Sarah, I know she graduated and got a placement at the Pacific Medical Clinic” I say thinking about what happened.

“Nope, she failed three times and dropped out about six months ago… just about time as she became Campaign Manager for lead Senate Candidate David O’Sullivan,” he says down the phone. “But her paperwork was signed off as Dr Sarah Keppel when she came to the Mine the other day and on the party website, the family page refers to her as a doctor,” I say surprised that Sarah isn’t the cleanskin that everyone likes to make out.

“Are you going to use that information?” Mitch asks me as I was about to ask him the same thing; “Well, in all honesty, I was going to ask you the exact same thing” we both laugh and agree to put it in the information that we have. “I also have the smoking gun about how Mitch paid someone else to take his exam,” Mitch says down the line and I fist pump because I always knew that it had happened despite the family denying and Corey Chang also denying that it ever happened despite now working for my Dad.

“Before we do anything though, I think that we need to talk to Danny about everything that we’ve found alright because I don’t want him finding out via the papers or anything like that?” I say worried about what the fallout will be “And maybe we need to talk to Adam first because he’ll know how to deal with Danny once he finds out”. Mitch agrees and we agree to talk with Adam tomorrow afternoon before dealing with Danny at some point over the weekend.

The next day, I follow the news cycle to see what there is about the campaign and I can see that the propaganda merchants are out talking about how family oriented the Keppel’s are with a noticeable absence of my name other than stating that I was undertaking personal opportunities. The way that they frame my absence is laughable given the fact that they forced me out as I watch the interview they put out with Brendan and Sarah talking about the support that I’ve been given starts to get on my nerves.

It’s obvious that they live in their own fantasy world if they think that they’ve been supportive to me at any point during all this. I grab my phone and text Mitch “After tonight” I send him an exploding bomb emoji that is his clue to send the information that he has found to his journalist friend.

I head to the gym alone, lifting trying to see if Danny comes in at all but he doesn’t which is odd so I text him to see if he is coming. I don’t get a reply until after I’m done working out. “Sorry man, should’ve texted you before, had to take the kids to school, Tash had to race into the city last night because her Dad’s in hospital” he texts me which seems suspicious but could be pretty innocent.

Heading home, I take a shower before heading to work. Getting through all my work rather quickly, I head outside and take some time just assessing the situation as it’s unfolding. For some reason I get out my phone and put in my sister Eliza’s phone number, she was probably the only sibling that I was super close with because she and I would always complain and get into trouble when we were at campaign events.

The phone rings “Dr Eliza Keppel speaking” she says as I take a deep breath “Hello, Hello?” she says before I finally get out some words “Hey Lize” I say not sure why I called her but it’s nice hearing her voice. “Isaac?” she says questioning whether it really is me. “Yeah, it’s me, how are you?” I ask really nervous like this is the first time I’ve ever spoken to her in my life

“I’m good, what about you? Where are you?” she says as if she doesn’t actually know where I am. “What do you mean, where are you? I’m in Yellow Peak where I’ve been living the past month” I say as if she should have known where I was. “Hang on, Lize you actually had no idea where I was?” asking because I quickly realise that she didn’t know about the situation.

“Of course, I didn’t, I just assumed you were still in Grantham being kept in the naughty corner so nothing could go wrong for the Campaign,” she says as I go out to the car and sit in the front seat to talk to her.

“Well, they cut me off and sent me out to Yellow Peak so that I could prove myself that I can handle things when they go tough” Eliza down the other end of the phone laughs hard. “As opposed to what, Brendan who got someone else to do his exam, Sarah who failed the same subject three times and had a relationship with our lecturer and poor Nick who is as dumb as a can of soup,” she says.

It’s a surprise to hear Eliza talk like that because she always played the political games a lot better than what I did and always seemed to enjoy the attention. I fill her in on everything that happened and I can sense fury in her voice because she can’t believe that they put power and politics over family. “You did some pretty fucking stupid shit but I still can’t believe they did that” I can sense that she is annoyed.

“So you handling Yellow Peak ok?” she asks as I say yep “It was tough the first little bit but I got a really good neighbour and some great friends out here and I love it” I even manage to surprise myself as I say that thinking about everyone and then about Tash. “It upset Brendan big time during the campaign visit the other day when they came to the mine”.

Eliza laughs but then asks about me working at the mine as I explain it all to her about working at the mines, originally planning to be working in the mine but then moving into the office working in administration. “I bet he would’ve been pissed that you have been enjoying it out there and I reckon that visit was just to spy on you”. “Well you know he’s had a car coming to sit outside my place every couple of days to see what’s going on” Eliza groans at the other end of the phone “You sure it’s been him?” she asks trying to make sure that I’m not jumping to conclusions

“Nah, one of my mates out here Mitch is the town lawyer and, in all honesty, he’s a pretty good hacker and got the records for the car and it’s registered to a company that’s linked to Brendan, Sarah and the O’Sullivans” before Eliza can get anything out I stop her “Yeah but it gets even better, remember Natasha O’Sullivan?” I ask Eliza. “Oh god… how could I forget that stupid bitch” she says as she had never liked her when she dated my brother. “Guess who lives in Yellow Peak too,” I say as she lets out a gasp.

“You are fucking kidding me, aren’t you?” she says in shock but then working things out. “So that is where she went, I remember that there was the whole her being pregnant thing with Brendan but having a miscarriage before leaving town”. I sit there surprised because I didn’t know about that factor “Yeah and she’s married to Danny who is my mate and technically my supervisor here in town and I know that Brendan and her are still in contact because she’s always going back to Grantham and he rushed to see her the other day”.

Eliza clearly annoyed down the line “That makes me so fucking angry that he thinks he’s the golden child” I laugh and agree. “Look, it’s good to hear your voice but can you not tell anybody that I called you because I told Brendan that I didn’t want to talk to anyone else”.

“Of course, I won’t Isaac, I’m glad you are safe and sounds like your doing well,” she says down the phone as she tells me that she needs to get ready for her shift. Before she goes, I tell her about the plan to bring down Brendan in particular and she says that she will help me in any way possible but doesn’t have anything that could really help me, but does promise to send me some stuff about Sarah.

I realise that I was out of the office for much longer than I should have been and hope that nobody notices or getting annoyed but thankfully being Friday afternoon, most people are only caring about heading to the pub. I finish work and quickly change at home before heading straight around to Mitch’s and knock on the door. He’s shirtless as he opens it up “h….hey” I say as I look at his body flashing back to the weekend where we spent it fucking repeatedly as Beau and Jake. He laughs as he goes to get a shirt “I wouldn’t mind if we were having that kind of catch up this afternoon” I say as I wander over towards him and kissing him closing the door behind me.

We make out for a little bit as I push him against the couch, making out and running my hand down his chest wanting to loosen his business pants which I get to do and kiss down his body as he stands there just in a pair of boxers as I move my hand down and inside them feeling his cock as I slide his boxers off and they sit around his ankles.

Mitch tries to push me off but he is so horny that he doesn’t resist when I start to suck on his cock, taking the head in my mouth, slowly going down bit by bit taking it as I enjoy sucking on his long shaft. “Stop it, bro, Adam will be here shortly,” he says before moaning as I take it deep down my throat, feeling his pre already leaking down my throat. “Ssh, let us have some fun for now,” I say as I pull off for a moment and start sucking harder and faster as he throat fucks me leaking so much cum. I take my t-shirt off and slide out of my shorts as I get my hard dick out.

I make sure Mitch’s door is locked as he lays on the couch and we get into position so that we can 69 each other. I climb over the top of him and feed him my cock which itself is leaking spurious amounts of precum. The feeling of Mitch sucking on me is amazing as I almost climax instantly feeling his tongue. Our moans loud that I hope that nobody is listening to us, I feel him starting to blow in my mouth and I swallow as I pick up the speed

Both of us are in the zone as we suck each other that we don’t hear the knock at the door and we keep sucking after both of us finishing blowing inside each other. As we slow down, the knock at the door is louder and we both stop suddenly.

Adam calls out that it’s only him at the door and Mitch calls out that he just needs to change before he can open the door. I quickly try and find my clothes but can’t see where my underwear went so Mitch just chucks me a pair of his briefs off his washing pile that I put on and then put my shorts and t-shirt back on.

I quickly go down his hall, to act as if I’m coming out of the bathroom as he opens the door to Adam who stands there “Oh hey Mitch, thought you might have had someone here” he says as he wanders in. I wander back down from the bathroom, “Hey Adz” he looks at Mitch weirdly but doesn’t say anything as he comes in and sits on the couch, that we were just 69ing on.

“So what’s this important news that we need to talk about,” he asks as Mitch and I look at each other preparing to tell him what we know about Tash and Danny in particular.
