Chapter 14

Jace

Things started to get back to normal in Green Lake over the next few months. The chief and former county attorney both pled guilty to all charges and were already in prison. Alex also pled guilty and at his sentence hearing, he was very remorseful and told the judge he would fully accept the punishment the court handed down. He actually seemed relieved that he no longer had to keep his terrible secret. He also sent letters to Mrs. Reason and Logan, apologizing to them, saying it wasn’t an excuse, but being young and having his father’s temper were a bad combination. We all thought at least he was sorry and understood that his actions were wrong. Tom Nelson remained defiant and unrepentant until the bitter end. After several delays the trial started and after 5 days of testimony, there were little surprises, and the jury returned a guilty verdict in less than 4 hours. Alex was the only one of the group that even stood a chance of walking out of prison, but by the time he would be up for parole, he would be in his sixties.

Tony and I had started hosting a weekly cookout with Logan, Bobby, and Cory. Mr. & Mrs. Reason also visited frequently, they sort of adapted all of us as their sons. Tony worked closely with Mrs. Reason and Logan as he wrote his book, he wanted their approval on all the information to keep things as accurate as possible. From time-to-time Todd Farley and his wife also joined us, the rest of the town had accepted us as well. Tony and I were glad that we found our way back to Green Lake.

Tony and I were finishing up the work on the barn, he had been working out of his new office for several months when we put the final touches on the apartment in the hay loft. My landlord told me that he had sold his house and I would need to move out of the basement. Tony and I were having a beer one evening and I told him I would need to find a new place.

I asked, “what would you think about renting me the apartment in the barn?”

He took a drink, “no, I don’t think that would be a good idea.”

My heart sank a little, I said, “no problem, I understand. I’ll talk to Pat tomorrow to see if there is anything else available in town.”

He set his bottle on the table, “or, you could just move into the house with me.”

I turned to him, “are you sure?”

He nodded, “yes, I am. What do you think?”

I smiled, “I would love to move in with you.” I leaned over and gave him a kiss.

I asked, “do you want to go up to your bedroom?”

He raised an eyebrow, “no, I want to go up to “our” bedroom.”

He took my hand as we ran up the stairs.

I moved in the following week. I was still amazed at how nice it was to be cared about the way that Tony cared for me. I had never had that before, not even with my own family, and I cared about him the same way.

We woke up the morning after I moved in and were lying in bed in each other’s arms. I turned to Tony and smiled, “I think I love you.”

He smiled at me and said, “I know I love you.”

I felt a tear run down my cheek, “wow, no one has ever said that to me before, hell, I don’t think I have ever told anyone else that either.”

Tony kissed my cheek, “you are only the second person I have ever said that to.”

I knew right then that I was where I needed to be and wanted to spend the rest of my life with Tony.

Tony

I saw the disappointment in Jace’s face when I told him that I didn’t want to rent the apartment in the barn to him, but when I asked him to move in with me, his eyes lit up. We told each other that we loved each other the next week, we both knew we were in it for the long haul. I knew Liam would be happy for me.

I spent more time on my book about Tanner in the next few months, working closely with Mrs. Reason and Logan. Jace and I included Logan in our get togethers with Bobby and Cory, we had a nice tight friend group. Logan was working through his grief nicely and knew Tanner would want him to move on, and he was. There just wasn’t a large gay dating pool for him in Green Lake.

As a result of Tom Nelson going to prison, all the ground around the lake was sitting idle. We were lucky the state decided to step in. At the urging of many in the town, the state turned the area immediately around the lake into a new state park. They planted trees where the wheat fields once stood, several small docks were located on the east and north sides, one where the Nelson farm was located. The lake was designated as a fishing only lake, meaning that no power boats or jet skis would be allowed. They built about twenty small cabins scattered on all sides of the lake for fishermen to rent, and they could use small fishing boats on the lake. It was a great compromise, the town would get the additional income from visitors, but wouldn’t be overrun by wealthy people building huge lake houses. In addition to the local businesses benefiting, the park also added about twenty new jobs to the area. The maintenance and grounds care crew were all hired from local residents. Jace was even able to submit a bid on helping build the new cabins. I was so proud of him when he was awarded the contract to install the roofing and siding on all the cabins. He suddenly needed to hire some help to complete the job in the timeframe set by the state. Unable to find any help locally, he called his old parole officer and went back to the city to bring back Joe Williams and Zach Collins. Two men recently released from the same prison that he had spent three years. They had a similar story to Jace, a bad decision with the wrong people, and like Jace were looking to get their lives back on track. They were able to complete the work on time and as a result, Jace saw a jump in work in town and was able to keep the two on his payroll. We built another office in the barn next to mine for Jace to run his growing business, he used the rest of the barn to store his tools and equipment.

The park superintendent was one job that the state filled with someone from out of town. Ian Miller showed up at our door one day asking if our apartment was still available to rent. He was about our age, stood about 6’ with sandy blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and a sweet broad smile.

I held my hand out, “hi, I’m Tony Malone, yes, it is, would you like to take a look at it?”

He shook my hand and said, “sure, if you have time.”

I led him to the barn, Jace and his crew were loading some tools for their next job. I made introductions and showed Ian the space. He explained he was the new superintendent, was starting his new job the following week. As soon as we finished the tour, he gave me check for the deposit and first months rent and was moving in the next day.

Two weeks later the state was hosting a grand opening of the new state park. The entire town stood at the main entrance of the park as the group of state officials held a big pair of scissors to cut the ribbon stretched across the gate.

They cut the ribbon, “citizens of Green Lake, welcome to the Tanner Grisham State Park.”

Mrs. Reason and Logan held hands as they were the first to walk through the gate, we all followed and toured the cabins and fishing areas. The state had done a great job of making the area very scenic, with picnic areas, fish cleaning stations and docks. They posted rules for the size of boats that were allowed and limits on the fish that could be removed from the lake. Ian oversaw the day-to-day running of the park and had two game wardens that reported to him to ensure the rules were followed.

Green Lake businesses enjoyed the increase in customers and for the most part, the park visitors were respectful of the area.

Jace and I were hosting one of our weekly cook outs with Bobby, Cory, and Logan. Just as I was getting ready to put the burgers on the grill, Ian came home from his day at the park. He waved as he walked toward his apartment.

I yelled, “hey, you are welcome to join us, we have plenty of food.”

He smiled, “thanks, let me change clothes and I’ll be right down.”

I turned to see Logan grinning ear to ear, he looked at me, “do you know if he is seeing anybody, or if he is gay?”

I smiled, “I don’t know, I have never seen anyone visit him.”

Ian soon joined us and easily fit in with our little group, as the night went on, we noticed he and Logan getting friendly with one another. Bobby and Cory left to go home, Logan stood and said he should leave too, as Jace and I started to clean up.

Ian softly said to Logan, “you can come to my apartment for another beer.”

Logan’s eyes lit up, “sure, sound good.”

Jace winked at me as they walked to the barn. The next morning, I walked into the kitchen to make some coffee and noticed Logan’s car was still parked in our driveway.

As Jace came in, I said, “things must have gone well for Logan.”

Jace grinned, “lucky little shit, Ian is pretty hot.”

I punched his shoulder, “hey!”

He laughed and gave me a kiss, “oh, well not as hot as who I slept with last night.”

I nodded my head, “that’s better.”

Over the next few months, Logan’s car was in the driveway more and more mornings. He and Ian were getting along great, and they seemed so happy together when they came over for our cookouts. Soon enough Logan had moved in with Ian.

Logan and I were sitting on our deck talking before Ian and Jace had come from work.

I said, “so things seem to be going good between you and Ian.”

He smiled, “yes, for the first time since Tanner, I have someone who I just can’t wait to see every day.”

I said, “that’s great, I am really happy for you. I know Tanner would be too, he would want to you to be happy.”

He nodded, “yeah, I talked to his mom about it before I moved in, she is the one who convinced me to take that step.”

I smiled, “I had Liam’s parents come here last month and introduced then to Jace, they were also so supportive. His dad was glad that I was moving on and said that I looked as happy as I did when I was with Liam. That’s when I decided to do what I am going to do tonight.”

Logan asked, “what are you going to do tonight?"

I pulled the ring from my pocket, “I’m going to ask Jace to marry me.”

He gave me a big hug, “that is awesome Tony.”

Jace and Ian both drove up and we each ran to meet our men. Logan grabbed Ian’s hand and said, “come on let’s go shower and so we can get back out here and help them get ready for the cookout.”

Jace gave me a kiss, “that sounds like a good idea, do we have time?”

I grinned, “a quick one.”

After our shower, I showed Jace the ring and popped question, he just burst out laughing.

I said, “ok, not quite the reaction I was hoping for.”

Jace still chuckling said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh.” He walked over to the dresser and pulled a ring from the drawer, “I was going to ask you the same thing.”

Our laughter turned to tears as we hugged and kissed. Our guests started to arrive, I had invited the Reasons and Todd and his wife, along with Ian & Logan, and Bobby & Cory. Jace and I couldn’t stop giving each other sly little looks. Logan noticed and finally asked, “ok, what is up with you two, is there something you want to tell us?”

We both grinned and said in unison, “we’re getting married.”

The cookout turned into an impromptu engagement party, and we started to plan the wedding.

Three months later we were standing on the shore of Green Lake, surrounded by all our friends. Logan was my best man and Bobby was Jace’s. Mine and Liam’s parents came, and all of my accounting customers and Jace’s clients were also there, it turned out to be bigger than I imagined it might be. Mrs. Reason insisted that she and all her friends make the food for the reception, there was enough food to feed the whole county. The party went on well into the night.

Jace and I stood to the side and finally had a moment to ourselves, I gave him a kiss. He looked back at the crowd of friends and said, “we are home, aren’t we?”

I smiled, “I think so.” The party finally started to break up and we were able to go home. We shed our clothes as we kissed our way up the steps to our bedroom.

I pushed Jace back onto the bed, God, he is gorgeous, that long blonde hair spread out on the bed surrounding his face like a halo. That fur covered chest and stomach that were bronzed from working in the sun shirtless. That cock laying against the pale skin that the sun didn’t see, then those muscular legs, the same color as that chest. How did I get so lucky. I took his dick deep down my throat as he moaned and thrashed his head back and forth. He reached down holding my head tight on his cock. I gave his nuts a few wet licks, then flipped Jace over so his ass was sticking in the air. I dove in and tongued his hole until it was slick with my spit. I lay on top of him and drove my cock home, until we were both moaning and thrusting in unison. I soon filled Jace’s hole with my hot seed, as I let out a loud grunt. Jace wiggled his ass as I slowly pulled from his stretched ass. He gave me a grin as he flipped me on my back, pushed my legs up and started to rim me. He moved up for a kiss as he pushed that sexy cock deep in my ass. He moved in and out sending every nerve in my hole into overdrive. The friction of our stomachs rubbing my dick set off another orgasm, just as Jace exploded inside me.

We melted into a pile of flesh, sweat and cum, trying to catch our breath. He gave me another kiss as he rolled off me and we lay there holding each other, smiling.

I asked, “are you happy?”

He smiled, “I can’t imagine being any happier.”

A month later my book was published and released for sale. I didn’t shoot to the top of the New York Times bestseller list, but it did well, especially in our part of the state. Jace had just finished reading the book and he smiled at me and said, “that was great babe, I loved it.”

I gave him a kiss, “thank you, I’m glad you liked it.”

Jace asked, “so what’s next for my favorite new author?”

I paused, “maybe I’ll write about a hot guy who gets out of prison and meets a nice that fully reforms him.”

He grinned, “hmm, I’d buy that book.”

The End.
