Chapter 23

We skipped breakfast and went back to my room.

Henry asked, “what do we do now?”

I shrugged, “what do you mean, what can we do?”

He said, “I don’t know, but it feels like we need to do something.”

I sat on the bed, “yeah, I know. Should we enlist in the army?”

He sighed, “that was my thought too. I think I need to go home and talk to my parents.”

I nodded, “maybe I should do the same. I am supposed to go back to California on the train tomorrow, I will stop by your barber shop tomorrow morning before I leave.”

We talked a bit more then Henry left to go home, I went to my parent’s apartment.

Mother was sitting by the radio, crying when I walked in, father was sitting beside her holding her hand.

Mother said, “we are sure to enter the war now, I hope Nikoli is safe in England.”

Father tried to comfort her, “I am sure he is fine dear, he is just there to support England’s army. The British have been successful in fighting back against Hitler’s air raids. It’s the Japanese we need to be worried about now.”

She looked at me, “Ivan, you are not going back to California, are you? The man on the radio said there could be more attacks on the west coast.”

I knelt in front of mother, “yes mother, I am going back in the morning.”

She sobbed, “but Ivan, it may not be safe there.”

I took her hand, “I must go back and talk to the studio. Mother, father, I am thinking of enlisting in the army.”

She gripped my hand tighter, “no Ivan, please no.”

Father said, “Katrina, there is a real possibility that he may be drafted, Alexei may be called up too. Maybe if he volunteers, he can choose where he goes. Remember we are proud American citizens, it is our duty to support the country in any way that we can.”

This did nothing to comfort mother, she was even more worried now that father had reminded her about Alexei. My father’s words helped me make my decision, he was right, it was my duty to help my country. We listened to the news reports for the next few hours, Alexei came home and joined us, he agreed with father and I, much to my mother’s dismay.

The next morning, I packed and went to see Henry, he told me that he and his family had had the same conversation. His uncle was going to come out of retirement to help his father in the shop. We said our goodbyes, and I was soon on the train, headed back to Hollywood.

As soon as I got back, I met with Mr. O’Neill. He told me that several other actors were also enlisting, and he would hold our contracts until we returned. I went to the enlistment center, after answering all their questions about my skills, they assigned me to a communications unit. I would spend some time training as a radio operator, then be shipped to Europe. I wrote to Henry with the news, he wrote back that was assigned to Fort Dix as a barber. Fort Dix was a major northeast receiving and training center and there would be no shortage of new recruits needing his services. I was so relieved that he was staying in the states, and safe from the ravages of the war across the Atlantic. By the end of the week of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the United States declaration of war on Japan, Germany declared war on the US, the whole world was now at war.

By spring, I found myself on a ship headed to England, I was able to see my family before I left. Alexei had joined the navy and was headed to the south pacific. In the few months it had been since I had last seen mother, she seemed to age 10 years. Mikhail was not going to be drafted, his job in the shipyard was deemed critical, especially now that the navy needed as many ships as possible.

I spent the next year and a half in a radio room in London, sending and receiving radio transmissions to the pilots of the bomber planes. They were flying bombing raids on Germany. Henry and I continued to write back and forth, I was still glad that he was safe.

Before Christmas of 1943, I was called into my commanding officer’s office.

I stood in front of his deck, unsure why I was there. He looked up at me and said, “it is you.”

I was confused, I asked, “sir?”

He chuckled, “sorry Corporal Romanov, I never put two and two together, I didn’t realize I had a movie star in my command.”

Now I understood, “no sir, here I am a soldier, just like everyone else.”

He sat back in his chair, “very admirable Corporal, but you are being reassigned.”

I said, “reassigned sir? Am I not doing a good job here?”

He said, “yes, you are doing a fine job, but we have a batch of newly trained radio operators coming next week. The army thinks you would be of more use in Special Services.”

I asked, “what does that mean sir?”

He handed me some papers, “Special Services provides entertainment for our troops to help with morale. They also make recruitment and other documentary films to help keep the public informed of our war efforts.”

I said, “yes sir, I will serve in whatever capacity the army thinks is best.”

He said, “good, you will help get the new recruits settled next week, then you will be shipped to Fort Meade in Maryland for training in Recreational Officer school. The school was started last year, you will come out of your training as a 2nd Lieutenant and then will go wherever you are needed.”

I said, “yes sir.”

He smiled, “I’ll keep you posted on the exact timeframe, and I must say that my wife and I both enjoyed your movies. I appreciate the fact that you didn’t expect any special treatment while you were under my command. You can go back to work now.”

I saluted, “thank you sir.”

I immediately wrote to Henry and my parents to tell them I would be back in the states by the end of the year. I was soon on a ship headed to Maryland.

I spent Christmas with my family and left to report to Fort Meade. I stopped by Fort Dix, Henry was able to get a weekend pass. I rented a hotel room and waited for him to show up.

I smiled as I opened the door, God, he looked great in his uniform. I shut the door and gave him a big hug and a kiss.

He said, “it is so good to see you Ivan, you look so handsome in your uniform.”

I chuckled, “I was just thinking the same about you, but I think you would look better out of it.”

He laughed, “if you insist.”

We didn’t have to utter another word, we ripped each other’s clothes off in record speed. It had been 2 years since we had seen each other, our cocks were already hard before our trousers hit the floor. We pulled each other tight, our bare chests rubbing together as our cocks leaked clear fluid all over our stomachs. We moved to the bed to continue kissing and fondling each other. Henry was on top of me, he broke our kiss, then worked his tongue down my neck, then my chest, giving each of my erect nipples a love bite. He continued down my stomach and fucked my belly button with his warm wet tongue. My aching cock was twitching in anticipation of his sweet lips. As always, my erect member was not disappointed when his tongue finally licked its head. I shivered as I felt my cock reach the back of Henry’s throat, and he started to bob up and down. I quickly pushed him off and panted, “sorry, I was getting close. I’m afraid I won’t last too long. It has been 2 years you know.”

Henry grinned at me, “yes, I know, but we have all night and I know you have more than one load in you.” He latched back onto my cock and 2 seconds later I was filling his mouth with my seed, he gulped down every last drop. He smiled as he came up and shared the last remnants of my semen with a deep kiss. I rolled him over onto his back and just as he had done, I kissed my way down his taught, perfect body. I few minutes later I was rewarded with a mouth full of his sweet love juices. I saved a bit and again we exchanged it with a kiss.

We kissed as we held each other, it only took a few minutes until our hard cocks were engaged in a sword fight. Henry pushed me on to my stomach and crawled on top of me, his pole rubbing up and down the crack of my ass. I let out a sigh as he kissed my neck, then worked his way down my back. I felt him spread my cheeks and work his tongue into my pink pucker. I raised my ass in the air as Henry slurped at my hole, leaving his saliva in and around my opening. Once he had me good and wet, Henry replaced his tongue with his cock. He slowly pushed in, and I pushed back until I felt his nuts tight against my ass. I let out a moan as Henry started to piston in and out, another moan came out of my mouth with every stroke. Henry lasted much longer this time, and I was loving every minute of having his cock in my ass. My cock remained rock hard as Henry hit my sweet spot with every push. I heard him let out a load groan and felt him flood my insides with his creamy white goodness. He fell on top of me as he tried to catch his breath.

I rolled over onto my back, Henry stayed on top of me as we shared another kiss. He reached back and aimed my still hard manhood at his hole. He smiled as he sat back, making my cock disappear into his smooth warm love tunnel. As much as I loved the way Henry’s cock felt in my hole, I loved the way my cock felt in his, even more. He smiled down at me as he started to bounce up and down. I also lasted a little longer this time, but soon I was exploding in Henry’s hole, I felt my semen run out of his ass as my deflating cock slipped from his well-used hole.

We kissed and cuddled together until we each felt our manhood swell once again. After we fucked each other again, we drifted off to sleep. We awoke the next morning to another session of love making. We finally got out of bed and got dressed. We went to get a bite to eat, and we each had to get back to our respective bases. We were happy that we were both back in the same area and were close enough to be able to see each other again.

I finished my training and started to shoot the films for the army. I was sent around to all the bases in the states with some of the other actors in Special Services. We were then sent back overseas for more filming and to visit more of our troops. I was on a ship on my way home when we received the news that the D-Day invasion was successful. Although the war wouldn’t end officially for another year, the news was more positive, and we all knew it was just a matter of time before all of our troops would be coming home. I spent the final year of the war in the States filming recruitment films. At one of my last stops, I saw Patrick, he was writing an article for the paper he worked for in San Diego. We were able to meet for a cup of coffee, he had been working as the paper’s war correspondent and had just returned to the States. He told me that William’s ship had been damaged in a battle and had since returned to port, he was safe in San Diego.

When Japan finally surrendered in September of 1945, we were elated. We got news that Nikoli was on a ship on his way home. But the news was not all good, Alexei’s ship was destroyed during one of the last battles in the South Pacific, he and hundreds of others were lost at sea. We met Nikoli at the dock when his ship arrived, it was a bitter-sweet day, we were all home safe, except Alexei.

I spent a week with my family before I was scheduled to go back to California. I was becoming worried about Nikoli, we had had a chance to talk alone. He didn’t give me a lot of details, but he did tell me that he had seen some bad things, and he was still having nightmares. That coupled with what I would later learn was called survivors guilt. Although we were all taking the death of Alexei hard, Nikoli confided in me that he wished it would have been him not coming home instead of Alexei. I tried to assure him that none of this was his fault, I told my brother Mikhail and sisters that we all needed to watch and help him as much as possible, they all agreed.

Henry had also been discharged and was back home in New York, we were able to spend the night together before I took the train to meet with Mr. O’Neill.

I arrived back in Hollywood and checked into the Roosevelt. I had sent all my things home right after I had enlisted, so I was prepared to leave for New York as soon as I was finished with my meeting. Henry and I had talked, and I told him that I had over four years to think about it and I was going to move back home.

Tom greeted me at front door of the studio office, he shook my hand, “so good to see you again Mr. Roman, Mr. O’Neill is waiting for you.”

I thanked him as he let me into Mr. O’Neill’s office. Woodrow O’Neill smiled and stood as I walked in.

He shook my hand, “you are looking well Van, glad you are home safe.”

I smiled, “thank you, it’s very nice to be home.”

He said, “please, have a seat. Gloria should be here in a few minutes, I wanted to meet with you both. I am so excited, we already have a project for you two. Picture this, you are our hero returning home from the war, Gloria has been waiting for you since you left. Of course, we weave in a little drama, but you finally get together and the final scene is a picture-perfect wedding. Your fans will love it.”

I was chuckling to myself, this is exactly what I was expecting from the studio. Before I could respond, Tom opened the door and said, “Mr. O’Neill, Miss Jewell is here.”

Mr. O'Neill grinned, “please, show her in Tom.”

After we greeted each other, we sat down, and Mr. O’Neill gave Gloria the same spiel that he had given me. It had been close to five years since I had seen Gloria, she looked good, she was wearing her a hair slightly longer, but it suited her. I knew that she had only made a couple movies, and had taken some time off, back in her hometown in Kansas.

Mr. O’Neill smiled at us and asked, “so, what do you two think?”

Gloria and I looked at each other, she spoke first, “that sounds great Mr. O’Neill, but I am afraid I am going to have to decline your offer.”

His eyes went wide, “but, why?”

Gloria responded, “I’m afraid I won’t be making any more movies, I am going back to Kansas. I am expecting and will give birth in five months.”

Mr. O’Neill paused, then regained his composure, “that’s ok, we can deal with this. First thing we do is get you and Van married, then we just won’t announce the birth of the baby until you have been married for about 10 months.”

She laughed, “no Mr. O’Neill, you don’t understand, Van and I won’t be getting married, he is not the father.”

He stammered, “but, but, but who is?”

She calmly said, “my husband, George Meyer. The same man that is the father of my 3-year-old son. We married 4 years ago, when I took that year off right after the war started. I intend to go back to Kansas to be a mother and a farmer’s wife.”

I was trying very hard not to laugh as Woodrow sat back in his chair in utter shock. He turned to me and said, “I’m sorry Van, I guess we need to find a new co-star for you.”

I took a deep breath, “well maybe not, I too have meet someone and I plan to move back to New York to be with them.”
