Chapter 4

Malik woke up trying to figure out where he was. He quickly realized he was blindfolded, and his hands and feet were tied. He started to remember the night before, he was waiting for Tyler to take a leak, when this guy wearing a hat and hoodie pushed him into a car. He tried to fight the guy and pull his hood back to see who he was when the guy hit him square in the face, his head hitting the passenger door window, and everything went black. He started to pull at the restraints on his wrists and ankles, with no success, he realized he was naked, and it seemed like he was laying on a bed. He felt a hand on his bare ass.

A man whispered, “don’t struggle, if you are a good boy, I will untie you.”

Malik shuddered at his touch, “who are you? Where am I?”

The man said, “shh, all in due time Malik.”

Malik froze, “how do you know my name? What do you want?”

Again, the man patted his ass, “I told you, all in due time.”

Malik began to panic, where was Tyler? He felt the man stand up and heard him unbuckle his belt and the sound of zipper. This could not be happening. He started to squirm.

The man pulled Malik to the edge of the bed, “just relax and cooperate, it will make it easier for both of us.”

Malik felt the head of a dick smack across his lips, the man reached down and grabbed Malik’s neck, causing his mouth to open slightly. He pushed his cock in as far as he could, causing Malik to gag. The man pulled back and slapped Malik across the face, “watch the teeth” he growled. Malik felt a tear run down his cheek as the man started to push in and out. Malik decided his best option was to get this over as soon as possible, he felt the man’s cock harden as he sucked. The man mumbled, “that’s it, I knew you would be good at this.” He held the back of Malik’s head as he continued his assault, Malik felt the slobber running down his chin, as he tried to catch his breath.

The man finally pulled out and began to turn Malik on to stomach, his legs went to the floor as he was bent over the edge of the bed. Malik’s bare ass was now exposed as he realized what was coming next. The man slapped Malik’s ass with his hard cock as he felt lube running down his crack. The man began to rub his dick along the crack, spreading the lube until it hit his tight pucker. Malik winced when he felt the head of the man’s cock start to push in, the man said, “it will hurt less if you just relax.” Malik tried, but his instincts were making it very difficult. The man finally penetrated Malik and once again, Malik just tried to relax so that the man would cum and hopefully leave him alone. Thankfully, he heard the man’s breathing quicken and a few minutes later felt him pull out and shoot his hot cum all over his ass. Malik pulled himself onto the bed as he heard the man pulling up his pants. The man gave Malik’s ass another slap and said, “that’s a good boy, in time you will come to enjoy our time together.”

Malik tried to pull his legs up to his chest in a fetal position as he began to sob. He heard the man walk away and pull the door shut behind him.

I asked Ollie, “have they found the car yet?”

He sat at the table with us, “no, not yet, they have patrol cars out looking right now.”

I turned back to Tyler, “is there anyone else that you can think of that might want to hurt Malik?”

Tyler sighed, “no, I can’t. This just doesn’t make any sense detective.”

Ollie said, “let’s start with guy at the concert last night, where were you guys sitting?”

Tyler pulled the ticket stub from his pocket and gave it to Ollie. Ollie had brought his laptop with him when he returned from running the plates on the stolen car. He brought up the stadium seating chart and Tyler pointed out where they were sitting, and we determined the seat that the jerk was sitting. We called the stadium security office and explained what happened and they gave us the name of the person that purchased the tickets.

Ollie ended the call and said, “James Andrews.” He began typing on his computer and then started to write, he looked up at me, “I have the address, shall we go have a talk with Mr. Andrews?”

I chuckled, he really was turning into a good police officer, I couldn’t help but feel a little proud. Hoping that all the time we had spent together over the last year was the reason he was taking the initiative and not waiting for me to tell him what to do next. Twenty minutes later we were knocking on James Andrews’ door.

I held my badge up as James answered the door. I try not judge people by the way they look, but this guy looked exactly like a guy who would be upset be two men showing affection in public. He just gave off a bigoted, closed-minded type of vibe.

After I identified myself and Ollie, I asked, “can we ask you a few questions?”

He looked us over, he asked, “about what?”

I said, “you attended the Post Malone concert last, it that correct?”

He nodded, “yeah, is that crime?”

Ollie stepped up, “no, but threatening other people is?”

James rolled his eyes, “oh, so those two queers ran to the cops huh? Look I didn’t threaten anyone, I just told the perverts to take it outside.”

Ollie shot back, “they had just as much right to enjoy that concert as you did, and I little kiss isn’t perverted.”

He narrowed his eyes at Ollie, “I never touched those fags, did they say that I did?”

Before Ollie could say anything else, I held my hand in front of him, I said, “Mr. Andrews, where did you go right after the concert?”

He said, “my buddy and I came back here and had a few beers? Why, what’s going on?”

I asked, “can your buddy confirm that?”

James stammered, “well yeah, but he’s not here, look, we came straight home after that concert, I didn’t even see those guys leave the stadium. If they are telling a different story, they are the ones lying.”

I said, “one of those guys was abducted last night, about three blocks from the stadium.”

His eyes went wide, “hey, I called them names, but I didn’t abduct anyone. Why do you think that I did this?”

I shook my head, “we don’t think that you did, we just have to investigate all angles. We will be talking to many more people about this.”

He and Ollie had both calmed down slightly, and we asked him a few more questions. I was satisfied that he was telling the truth, and we were getting ready to leave.

I asked, “can you give me a phone number in case I have any more questions?”

He nodded and gave me is cell number, just as I had finished writing it down, another man came walking in from down the hall, wearing just a towel around his waist.

He said, “hey James, I thought you were going to join me in the shower, we probably need to hurry in case your wife decides to come home early.” He stopped as soon as he saw us.

James’s face turned bright red as he turned back to face us, “this is my buddy Joe, he can tell you that we came back here right after the concert.”

I knew better than to look at Ollie, if I did, I was sure that we would both burst out laughing. I confirmed the information with Joe and asked him the same questions that I had asked James. I thanked them for their time, Ollie and I started toward my car.

Ollie turned back and said, “I think your closet door is open James, come on out.”

James again turned red as he shut the door. Just as I predicted, as soon as Ollie and I were in my car, we were laughing.

Ollie asked, “is there such a thing and a gay homophobe?”

I was still chucking, “evidently.”

Ollie shook his head, “what a fucking hypocrite.”

I nodded, “yeah, but I’m pretty sure he’s not our bad guy.”

He sighed, “you’re probably right.”

As we walked back into the station, we were notified that the stolen car had been found at a strip mall a few blocks from where Malik was abducted. They told us that the car was being towed to the police garage and forensics would start going through it as soon as it arrived. We went back to the interview room, we had left Tyler there with another officer, going through mug books. We didn’t expect him to find anything, I just wanted to keep him busy until we returned.

Tyler looked up at us as we walked in and asked, “well?”

I shook my head, “you were right, the guy is a jerk, but I don’t he had anything to do with Malik’s disappearance.”

Tyler sighed, “yeah, that would have been too easy.”

Ollie said, “I think we need to talk to Malik’s old boyfriend and his former employer, are you sure Malik never told you who they were?”

Tyler shook his head, “no detective, I guess we just wanted to put our pasts behind us. Like I said, he didn’t ask about mine and I didn’t ask about his.”

Ollie stood up, “I’ll go search a couple data bases, I should at least be able to find something in the state’s employment records.”

I asked Tyler, “what about social media, are you guys on any of those sites?”

Tyler nodded, “Malik has an Instagram account, but I don’t, I think he has only posted on it two or three times since we have been together.”

I had him bring it up on his phone, he was right, there were exactly three posts. The first was a picture of him and Tyler, captioned, “working at the best bar in Key West with my best friend”. The second was another of the pair relaxing on the beach, and the last was of Malik and Tyler at the Post Malone concert.

I notice that he only had about 50 followers, I asked Tyler, “can you bring up the list of his followers?”

Tyler took the phone and handed it back to me, I asked “do you know who all these people are?”

He shrugged, “some of them.”

For the next half hour we went through the list, 42 of them were customers that visited the bar while on their vacation. Tyler said, “Malik does that when they ask him to follow, it helps him get better tips.” I nodded, yeah that makes sense, most of them were from all over the country and none were from Miami. 2 of the others were Malik’s brothers, 1 was the bar owner and 3 were the other waiters and bartenders.

I asked, “who is Jeff Barker?”

Tyler said, “he was Malik’s math teacher in high school. Malik said that he was kind of a mentor to him. The last time Malik talked to him, Mr. Barker said that he was moving to Jacksonville. He started teaching there at the start of the last school year.”

I went to the last name, “Casey Davis?”

Before Tyler could answer, Ollie walked back in and said, “Casey would be the old boyfriend.”

I asked, “how do you know that?”

Ollie handed me some papers, “he and Malik were brought in a few times for questioning, they were both working for Freddie Rogers.”

Tyler asked, “who’s Freddie Rogers?”

I turned to the second page, “he runs a tattoo parlor on Pompeo Ave. The guys in the Narc squad think it’s a front for a drug ring. According to this, the parlor has been raided about ten times in the last three years. The place is always clean, usually one of the guys is pinched for possession but hey can never catch Freddie with anything. They know Freddie is the boss but have never been able to pin anything on him.”

Ollie asked Tyler, “did Malik ever mention Freddie?”

Tyler shook his head, “no, not that I remember. Do you think Malik ran drugs for Freddie?”

Ollie said, “that’s what the Narc squad thinks according to these reports, maybe that’s why Malik wanted to get out of town.”

As we were trying to decipher the Narc squad reports, Rich Holden walked in, “hey guys, what’s your interest in my case?”

Rich was head of the narcotics squad, he had been on the department close to twenty years. He knew every drug dealer in Miami and had a large network of informants. If Malik was involved in running drugs, Rich could be a huge help to us.

I said, “hey Rich, one of the guys you questioned a year ago was just reported missing.”

He sat down, “really? Who?”

I showed him a picture, I said, “Malik Reyes.”

He nodded, “Rey Rey, that’s what the rest of the crew called him, yeah, I remember talking to him. He always seemed out of place in this crew, him and his boyfriend Casey.”

Ollie asked, “so he and Casey were a couple?”

Rich said, “that’s the impression that I got, I never asked. Those two were just different when we questioned them, they always seemed scared and nervous. The rest of Freddie’s guys were cocky and overconfident, they all thought they were tough guys.”

I asked, “and Malik didn’t act like that?”

Rich shook his head, “nope, I think he got mixed up with the wrong crowd and was trying to get out without getting himself hurt. How long has he been missing?”

I said, “since last night.”

Rich sat back, “really?”

Tyler was just sitting there wide eyed, it was clear that this was all news to him. He had no idea what his boyfriend had done before they met.

I asked Rich, “why does it surprise you that he has only been missing since last night?"

Rich shrugged, “because the story we got, was that Malik was supposed to deliver $5000 to Freddie, but never showed up. I assumed that Freddie had already found him a year ago, since that was the last time, we saw Malik.”
