The Curse
Months had passed since they returned from the Void.
Kiran and Farren had moved in together almost immediately. Their little apartment was filled with warmth, laughter, and the constant sound of bodies colliding. They fucked like rabbits; morning, night, and sometimes in the middle of the day when one of them simply couldn’t wait any longer.
There were mornings where Kiran woke Farren up by slowly riding him, tail wagging as he took the wolf’s knot before breakfast. There were nights where Farren bent Kiran over the kitchen counter while dinner burned on the stove. There were lazy Sunday afternoons spent tangled in bed, Farren lazily fucking Kiran from behind while they watched old movies.
They went on dates too, real ones. Farren took Kiran to quiet restaurants where the fox would tease him under the table with his foot. They went hiking in the mountains, where Farren would pin Kiran against a tree and fuck him until his legs shook. They even tried (and failed) to go to the movies once, but ended up in the back row with Kiran’s muzzle buried in Farren’s lap.
Life was good. Better than either of them had ever expected.
But then Farren things changed.
It began slowly. A cough here, a little fatigue there. At first, they brushed it off. Farren had spent years in the Void, of course his body needed time to readjust. But the sickness didn’t go away. It got worse.
Week after week, Farren grew weaker. His appetite faded. Dark circles appeared under his eyes. Some days he could barely get out of bed. Kiran watched with growing fear as the strong, powerful wolf he loved slowly faded.
One evening, Farren came home from a short patrol looking completely drained. He barely made it to the bedroom before collapsing onto the mattress.
Kiran followed him in, ears pinned back with worry.
“You need to rest,” he said softly, climbing onto the bed.
Farren tried to sit up. “I’m fine, pretty fox. Just tired…”
“No, you’re not.” Kiran gently pushed him back down. “Let me take care of you tonight.”
Farren didn’t argue. He was too exhausted.
Kiran straddled him carefully, leaning down to kiss him slow and deep. His paws roamed over Farren’s broad chest, feeling how much thinner he had become. It broke his heart, but he didn’t let it show.
He reached down and stroked Farren’s cock until it hardened, then lifted himself up and sank down onto it with a soft moan, taking his love's thick red member into his warm fox hole. Farren’s eyes fluttered shut as Kiran took him all the way to the base.
“Fuck… Kiran…”
“Shhh,” Kiran whispered, leaning down to kiss him again. “Just relax. Let me do the work.”
He rode Farren slowly, rolling his hips in deep, sensual circles. His tail swayed behind him as he moved, taking the wolf’s cock again and again. Farren’s paws rested on Kiran’s thighs, but he didn’t have the strength to thrust up. He just lay there, watching Kiran with tired but loving eyes.
“You’re so beautiful,” Farren murmured. “Even when I’m like this… you still want me.”
“I’ll always want you,” Kiran said, voice trembling. “No matter what.”
He rode him faster, chasing his own pleasure while making sure Farren felt good. When he finally came, he clenched hard around Farren’s cock, moaning his name. Farren followed soon after with a low groan, filling Kiran with weak but warm pulses.
Kiran stayed on top of him afterward, gently stroking Farren’s chest as they caught their breath.
“I love you,” Farren whispered, already half-asleep.
“I love you too,” Kiran said, kissing his forehead. “Now sleep.”
No doctor could answer what was wrong with Farren.
Three days later, there was a knock at the door.
Farren was too weak to get up, so Kiran answered it.
Standing outside were the three Void guardians, the scarred black panther, the massive brown bear, and the sleek snow leopard. Their faces were grim.
“We need to speak with Farren,” the panther said quietly.
Kiran let them in.
They gathered around the bed. Farren looked small and pale against the pillows.
“The Void has given us its answer,” the panther said. “Because you destroyed that blue temple with your spell… it has cursed you, Farren.”
Farren’s ears twitched. “What?”
“The longer you stay with Kiran… the longer you stay out of the Void… the sicker you will become. The Void is punishing you for breaking its rules. For choosing him over your duty.”
Kiran felt the blood drain from his face.
Farren stared at them, stunned. “You’re saying… I can’t be with him? That I have to leave him to survive?”
The panther nodded slowly. “If you want to live… you may have to choose.”
Farren looked at Kiran, who was standing frozen by the door, eyes wide with horror.
The wolf reached out a trembling paw.
Kiran took it.
And for the first time since they had been reunited, neither of them knew what to say.
