CASS

None of us were sleeping any time soon. The front bands of the hurricane were overhead now, and every time we started retiring to various staterooms, the onrush of wind and rain from the next band sent us up to huddle together in the dinning cabin. Jake would not allow anyone in the upper salon area once the wind outside hit forty miles an hour the first time. Even though the upper deck works was configured to withstand storms at sea, his view was that we faced that hazard of flying limbs or even small trees being uprooted on and hitting the ship. The hull itself was far stronger and safer, and for much of the storm protected by the dock itself.

So we huddled below. Jim and Kieth made us hot chocolate and cookies. I was part of a sandwich that had Alejandro between Will and myself. Alejandro shivered whenever the wind really began to whine outside.

Jake was back and forth, putting up a calm front, but pretty much ceaselessly checking on things, watching the weather radar from his cabin astern.

Ironically, he didn’t seem so worried about us. As he put it, reassuring us several times, the hurricane was tracking almost exactly up the Atlantic Coast, so we were experiencing the landward third of the storm and its storm spinoffs. It was our friends back in Rehoboth Jake worried over. He’d gotten two calls from Dan about the situation there, the storm surge that was threatening Dan’s new big beach house and the hotel.

I gathered that compared to Dan, Keen, Mike and Alex, we had it relatively easy.

Outside during lulls, Jake would peer outside and check the lines with Jim and Kieth, and Lev. We were experiencing a higher-than-normal tide which had the pier dock under water, but back up the inlet as we were, the heavy lines we had as nursing lines and more direct lines crisscrossing each other to the thick pilings of the dock, and the cleats, had the ship more than secure.

David and Jud were assigned to keep us passengers happy, fed and feeling safe.

Still it kept rising, and since we were never in the eye, there was no let off.

Alejandro turned to me under the blanket we huddled under along with Will and said in my ear. “Caro mio, you are so calm. Aren’t you at all frightened? Me, I don’t like this.”

I turned and kissed him, rubbing his chest as Will chuckled into his neck. The wind outside whined. “We are going to be fine. We are in a very safe place. Shhh.”

“That’s right, sweety. Listen to Cass. We have nothing to worry about.”

“But what if a water sprite comes charging up the river and smashes into us.”

“Waterspout.” I corrected, trying not to laugh.

“Water sprout then,” he fumed thrusting at me in a stop teasing me sort of way that was adorable.

I decided not to tease him because I couldn’t help laughing.

“Stop that! Making fun of me. Hah. Why don’t you go keep the captain company. You know you want to.” Alejandro teased back.

In the dim light of two lamps run by the ship’s generator, I could see that despite his fears, the sexy Alejandro’s eyes had a twinkle in them.

Will lifted his head from nuzzling Alejandro to look at me too, with a raised brow. Fuck, did everyone know I was falling head over heels for Jake? He was a married man, for fuck’s sake!

The wind thundered and whistled overhead rising as I thought it over, sipping a second cup of hot chocolate. “Ok, I’ll go see what he is doing.”

“Not yet.” Alejandro demanded over the rising wind.

I almost told him it was going to get worse, but I didn’t turn back into him and keeping our Italian sex stud calm until I could break away.

When the wind roar outside eased a bit, I slipped away, heading back along the passage to one side of the engine room back to the compartment where the Soloflex machine was, and then climbed up the companionway to Jake’s cabin. He wasn’t there, but the hatch door to the Helm station was open. Like the salon area, that pilot station could be completely closed. Jake was there, peering out at through the large ports at the horizontally driven rain into the harbor. It wasn’t all that cold, just loud with the wind and rain. The lights of the pilot house were off but for the plot table which had the readout from the satellite coverage of the storm.

I moved up beside the captain. Jake turned his head and took me in.

“Hey Skipper, can I get you some coffee or hot chocolate?”

He shook his head and leaned to speak almost in my ear. “No thanks. I’ve had enough of both. I might get some hot apple cyder in a bit. Look out there.”

I followed the direction of his right hand through the ports and caught sight of something out in the water, a dark shape drifting from our right, starboard, to port, up the river.

“A powerboat. Trawler looks like. Must have broken loose. Nothing we can do about it. It will be up the river against the shore by dawn. I’ve seen a couple of other smaller boats drift by.”

“So, how are we doing?” I asked.

“We still have the peak of the wind to hit. The storm is right on top of Delaware. The next hour will see the highest winds slam up the Severn and into the mouth of the port of Annapolis, but we will be protected, still. I’d be surprised if we get anything as strong as ninety knots, probably not even seventy knots where we are.”

Even as Jake finished the wind started picking up again, slashing across our view. I looked over and down and saw the wind sheeting across the water which was up just over the dock. All the ship’s lines extended down either onto large cleats or to the thick wooden pilings the tops of which reached about my eye level. The lines all seemed to holding and reinforcing each other. We weren’t going anywhere.

The wind whined higher, almost like you would see looking out the window or a jet airliner in the rain just after takeoff.

Then there was an odd lift of rain into almost clarity, the night lit up by a row of splintering light followed by a tremendous crash of thunder.

I found myself backing up and Jake’s arms went around me from behind. I didn’t fight it but nestled into that powerful embrace.

Outside the night gave us a light show as lightning seemed to take over. This was followed by a crack and then another.

“Hail. Unless I am mistaken,” Jake said calmly in my ear, we might be seeing a waterspout out there.”

“Alejandro called it a water sprite,” I said turning my head and Jake’s teeth gleamed before he laughed.

There was another crack, a smack and them several as hail fell.

“will this pilot station roof hold up?”

“Oh yeah. Carbon steel. Almost as tough as titanium. Whole ship is made of it. But I am just as glad not to be out there in it.” Jake said.

“Yep.” I agreed, whole heartedly.

The Lightning continued to light the sky, and though the rain still slashed it was a light rain, just blown sideways and visibility cleared.

Jake’s right arm moved and I felt his hand move in under the hoody I wore, his hand moving in on my abs. My cock, already stirred by his nearness, his warm breath by my ear, his sexy voice, went to ram rod hard.

“Jake,” I said,

“Just trying to keep my hands warm.” He said, and I could hear the smile in his voice. Then his hand stiffened and his other arm came up. “Look!”

I looked and wasn’t sure what I was seeing, and then I was. A chugging roar underlay the whine of wind and the thunder, and out beyond us, beyond the nearby marina I saw something snake into view, hover there, bending as it sent up a scything spray at it’s base. The Lightning illuminated it, flashing off and on, giving a jittering effect to the most frightening thing I had ever seen in my life. I was paralyzed with excitement as the monstrous twisting apparition blew across our vision.

“That’s some water sprite.” Jake said in my ear.

I couldn’t help it. I giggled and Jake’s teeth came down on my ear lobe. Right in my ear he said, “I fucking love it when you giggle.”

I couldn’t take my eyes off the water spout but it didn’t linger and soon another wall of water blocked our vision.

We stayed there, peering out into the chaos for another half hour or so. I didn’t care. In Jake’s arms with his hands warming and rubbing up and down my abdomen, now and then pausing to play with my nipples, and I was in heaven.

“Come to bed.” He growled in my ear finally.

“Jake,”

“Just to sleep. I guess your not ready, but, I sure would like the company.”

Oh I was ready, but I heard myself say, “Jake, your still married. I know your getting a divorce but… I don’t want to be …”

“Shhh, glad you said something.” Jake kissed my neck making me shiver. “If there is one thing I understand, baby, and that’s self-respect. Damn if you didn’t just make my heart skip, beautiful Cass. Just share my bed. We won’t do anything you don’t want to do.”

I turned in his arms and kissed him, hard. I wanted him to know how much I wanted him.

Jake’s lips hesitated. I think I startled him. But then, oh my my, my, he kissed me back and oh fuck but my knees wanted to buckle. I thought I had been kissed by men to the extent I knew what a great kiss was. I had no fucking clue!

After a long moment where I nearly came in my way too tight jeans, he led me back into his cabin, and slowly, amids the roar of rain and wind overhead and around us, unzipped my hoody as I unbuttoned his leather jacket.

We took our time until we were both down to boxer briefs. Then we met together again in another incredibly rough passionate kiss, that didn’t stop until we were in his bed, his covers up mostly over us. By then I was pounding and he was too against me as our bodies meshed. We didn’t haver to do anything specific, just lay there tight against one another, glued by passion as we kisses lips and jaws, and necks, not daring to stray to nipples. I started to go there but Jake held me back. “No babe, you’ll make me cum. Lets save that till your ready.” Jake growled.

“Then stop kissing me.” I pleaded, because fuck if he kissed me like that again I was exploding.

Jake gave me the sexiest grin, that was total devil and something totally angelic at the same time.

“Ok babe. Turn over and let me spoon you.”

I obeyed but felt him surround me, very conscious of his huge pressure up against my ass crack. It felt so sexy, so bad, but bad in a good way and so right.

“Jake…” I muttered.

“Shhhh, just breath deep. Slow… breath deep baby…”

I thought for a moment that soft growling purr would put me to sleep, but nope! I was too horney, too much in need.

“Sleep baby, breath in… count to three, now let it out… all is peaceful, all is serene….”

The wind died away a little, but I knew it would be back. I knew it would take me away with this tall dark gorgeous man who thought his purring sexy hypnosis would work on me in a storm like this, that I could possibly let him lead me to some place I had never been …
