It was 2:05 when Matthew heard the knock at the door.  “Come in,” called Anthony Ginn, another first-year grad student.  The door slowly opened, and Blake scanned the room.

“You’re late, Mr. Kimbrough,” called Matthew.

Anthony Wright looked up from his book.  He raised his eyebrows to get a better look at the handsome, well-built baseball player.  Anthony glanced over at Matthew.  He hoped Matthew might help him curb some of his bi-curiosity, but he suspected that the guy at the door was not a tutoring student; it was only the second day of the semester.  He saw Matthew stand up with his backpack.

“I have another appointment,” said Matthew, “so you’ll need to walk with me while I answer your questions.”

“Of course, sir,” replied Blake.  The two of them left the room and headed for the stairs.  “What was that?” whispered Blake.

“He wasn’t supposed to be there.  I don’t want to talk about personal things in front of him.”

“Is that what we’re doing?  Talking about personal things?”  Blake gave a half chuckle, half giggle sound.

“That’s right.  Do you have any classes this afternoon or evening?  Any training that you have to go to?”

“Completely free except for some homework.  I need to read a chapter for my business class.”

“Don’t you have something for your Geology class?  Rumors are that Mr. Cooperman likes to give pop quizzes; not that I know anything about the next class, because I’m in the dark as much as you.  He’s not allowed to tell me anything in advance.”

“Well, then I have more to read than I was originally thinking.”

“Good boy.  You keep up with your studies, and I won’t have to get onto you about them.”

“But I want you to get on me.”

I blushed again.

“You are so fucking cute; I can barely stand it.”  Blake put his hand on my arm and slowed the pace.  “Where are we going?”

“I guess we need to go to your place.  That’s where your books are, right?”

“Um.  My place is that way.”  Blake pointed to the right.

“Lead the way.”  He turned and began to walk away.  I glanced down at his ass as he turned back around.

“Caught you.”  He shook his head.  “I feel like a piece of meat.”

“I doubt it,” I said, but my face stayed red.  “You love that I’m looking at your ass; you know it.”

“You’re right.”  He started laughing.

I gave his ass a swat.  I’m not sure why.  I’d never done anything like it before, but I think it was because it was his ass, and I knew he wanted me to notice it even though he joked about it.

“You’re being naughty,” he announced.  “I wouldn’t have thunk it.”

“I’m going to have to ticket you for bad grammar.”

“Oh, you’re a member of the grammar police.  I didn’t realize.  I’m sorry, Officer.  May I have a warning?”

“I’m not an Officer; I’m a Major.  I plan to be a General by the end of the year.  I’ve been handing out citations right and left.”

“How will I ever work off all my fines?  Will I be able to ‘kiss’ my way out of jail?”

“I’ll need to reevaluate your kiss.  I don’t believe it’s currently worth a get out of jail card.”

“Ouch.”

I didn’t respond to his comment.

“Do I get to evaluate your kiss?” he asked.

“If you think that it’s a wise course of action.”

“That sounds like a threat, Matt.”

“I’m just urging you to be cautious.”  We approached his dorm.  Crowds blocked the entrance.  People moved in and out of the building.  We took the stairs to the second floor.  His room was only two doors from the stairwell.

Once inside, he locked the door, grabbed me, pulled me to him.  He held me in place with just one arm and pushed his other hand against my groin.  He pressed his head to mine to kiss me.

I moved my head until our lips met.  His tongue tried to ravage me, and how he held me up with only one arm was an amazement to me.  His hand moved over my hardness, and I looked forward to grabbing his dick through his pants when someone knocked at the door.

“Blake, you in there.  I need a notebook.”  He banged on the door again.

“Fuck,” Blake said under his breath.  He released me, and  I staggered to the chair at his desk and plopped myself down.  Blake opened the door to one of the guys who was with him in class this morning.  “A notebook?”

“Yeah, man, just a spiral.  I need one for a class; I don’t want to have to run to the store.”

“Here you go.  It cost me a buck.  You can pay me later.”

The guy left, and Blake grabbed two textbooks and put them in his backpack.  “Let’s go to your room.  There’s no privacy here.  I already told you that.  We weren’t here for 30 seconds and getting bothered.”

“My room’s fine.  It is kind of noisy here.  Is it this loud every night?” I asked.

“Yeah.  Makes it tough to study sometimes.”

“My dorm better be dead quiet.  Oh, maybe my dorm is, and you knew that.  Maybe it’s not me you want, but the quiet of my dorm room.”

He held me and kissed me again.  “No.  It’s you I want.  And how’s the kiss.  Will it help me pay off my grammar fines?”

“It might, but I suspect I’ll need lots of them.”

Blake looked directly into my eyes.  His facial expression was serious.  “I want to give you lots of them.

I ran my fingers through his hair.  “Anytime.”  I pulled his head forward and kissed his forehead.  “Let’s go so you can be a good boy and get your studying done.”

Blake handed me my backpack and grabbed his own.  A game in the hallway blocked our passage, but we managed to make our way down the stairs and outside.

“Blake?”

“Yes, Matt.”

“Do your teammates know about…  I mean…  Have you told them… um…”

“Are you trying to ask me whether I’m out to the guys on my team?”

“Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to ask.  I want to know if I can hold your hand in public, or if we have to keep things private.”

I saw him suck his lips into his mouth.  He blew out a deep breath and bit his lower lip.  I could tell that the answer was no.

“Are you out?” he asked.

“Oh, Blake, darling.”  I paused for effect.  “It’s nobody’s fucking business whose pussy I fuck, is it.”  I tried to look serious.  But he saw my mouth curl slightly on the ends.  “I don’t try to keep it a secret, Blake, but I don’t broadcast it.  And if I need to be your ‘buddy’ to keep everything cool with your teammates, I will.”

“Matt, it’s an awful thing to ask you to do.  I should be able to be open about it.  It’s not so much the team here at school, but if I want to move into the majors after school, I have to be perfect on the field with no controversy.”

“I understand.  No holding hands or kissing in public.  No calling you sweetheart or honeybuns in front of anyone.  Let’s go to my room.”

As we walked the rest of the way to my room, I noticed that Blake seemed sad, and he had lost the bounce in his step.  Did he not realize that we’d have to talk about it?  Many men were in the closet at work and out at home, but we lived where we worked.  I certainly didn’t want to be the one to ruin his chances for his dream job.  Coming out after he had proven himself was an option.  I found myself thinking about the various options as I walked up to the door to my room.

I opened the door and let him in.  I smiled as he passed me.  He didn’t smile back.

As soon as I locked the door, he spoke up.  “Matt, I don’t want you to hate me because I don’t want to tell everyone that I’ve met someone special.”

I pushed his bangs back.  “I understand.  I really do.  I don’t hate you or think less of you.  I brought it up because I don’t want to make a mistake in front of your friends.”

“A mistake?”

“Like running up to you and kissing you and saying how much I…  Well, you know.  You have a much larger public profile here than I ever will.  Unless I become a professor here, and even then, no one cares whether professors are gay, the university just doesn’t want them sleeping with their students.  It’s different for you, and I understand it.”

He nodded.

“Now, take off your shoes, get your book, and start reading.”

“What?” he said as he kicked the shoes off.  “No pre-study lip warm-up?”

“Do what I say.”  I grabbed my ‘Advanced Plate Tectonics Theory’ book.  “I’ve got a chapter to read for tomorrow.”  I got on the bed.  “Here’s a comfortable spot for you.”

Blake got next to me.  It took us under a minute to figure out how to snuggle up to each other and still be able to see our textbooks.  We were just one slight twist away from being able to kiss one another.  I took advantage of that little bit of movement.

“Matt.  You know that you excite me.  How am I going to concentrate on reading?”

“The same way you hit a home run with thousands of screaming fans watching you.”

“But…”

I interrupted.  “You make my dick hard when you kiss me like that, but I’m still going to read this chapter.”

“Awww. Fuck.”

“Not until the third date.  This date is only the second.”

“Matt?”

“Yes, Blake.”

“I didn’t bring any condoms.”

“Read your book, Blake.”
