The tremendous power rippling underneath his skin propelled him forward like a rocket. It took Eli only a moment to realize that he couldn’t control his own strength. He barreled into the vampire, knocking him away from Rhett. Veyr flew through the air like a rag doll, his back hitting the trunk of a tree. The shock and intensity of the hit left him on the ground, unresponsive.
Eli landed on all fours. The sounds coming out of his mouth were strange and unintelligible. His sense of smell was so powerful it made him dizzy. Everything around him had its intensity dialed up tenfold; the shapes of the trees guarded the battlefield like warriors. A scent of resin climbed up his nostrils, triggering memories that weren’t his.
He looked down one of his arms only to find it covered in hair. It was no longer human-looking. Far more muscular from before, it had the shape of an animal’s leg with all its sinews stretched taut.
It crossed his mind that he had turned into a creature most likely much like Rhett, but he didn’t mind it. In this body, he might just take on Veyr.
The vampire wasn’t dead. With enhanced vision, hearing, and smell, other senses prevailed. The enemy lay feet away from him, but Eli approached him cautiously. In the back of his mind, his still-human conscience tried to pull him towards Rhett, who still didn’t move.
But the vampire wouldn’t kill Rhett, because the college student, the lycan prince, was supposed to be his source of power.
Eli towered over the fallen vampire. But he wavered. Could he just go for the throat? The beast now living inside him urged him to do so, but the human couldn’t move. Disgust and fear of losing an important part of him mingled in his brain, deciding for him.
He put one paw on Veyr’s chest, his ears perked up. For now, Rhett’s archenemy seemed to be no longer a threat. What should he do about it? If he could just turn back to his human shape, he’d find a way to tie him up and lock him somewhere, but—
The gasp that rumbled underneath his paw interrupted his train of thought. The grip on his front paws made him howl in unexpected pain. Veyr was strong, and Eli was too inexperienced in his beast form.
His earlier triumph was short-lived. Just as Veyr earlier, he found himself flung through the air, all across the clearing. In his flight, he watched in horror as the vampire rushed back to Rhett, bent on finishing the job, whatever that was.

“Climb on my back,” Logan said, as soon as he understood that Noel, no matter how athletic, couldn’t keep up with him.
As strange as that might seem, he had embraced his beast self as if a natural instinct imposed it. Aware of his own breathing, harsh and animalistic in nature, he rushed across the field, into the darkness.
Noel didn’t comment and once Logan slowed down, he quickly climbed on his back, gripping at tufts of hair hard.
“Can you feel them?” the boy asked.
“Yes,” Logan growled, “I can smell them. And that vampire. They must be close.”
The darkness of the forest swallowed them. Logan couldn’t recall a time when these trees had seemed so menacing; he enjoyed taking long walks in nature, and he was no stranger to the college surroundings.
Yet, now, everything seemed foreign and imbued with a smell of ash and decay. He snorted hard through his nostrils, as the scent bothered him.
“What’s wrong?” Noel asked, catching on fast.
“I sense the vampire. His stench is overpowering.”
“Will you be okay? What if he uses, I dunno, like biological warfare or something?”
He would have found Noel’s question endearing under any other circumstances, but the vampire had to be a force to reckon with.
“I don’t know about that, Noel, but he will surely put up a fight. I hope we’re not too late.”
The smells of lycan and vampire seemed stronger now. They had to be getting near. Logan pushed himself to run faster. If there was one upside to what was going on now, it had to be this immense power now under his command.
Noel’s knees nudged him in the ribs, but it wasn’t unpleasant. On the contrary, it gave Logan a sense of empowerment to have his mate ride him like this. He could sense the shape of his body down to the smallest detail and hear the pulse of his blood.
“Logan, there!” Noel shouted.
Something, or better said someone, flew through the air. Logan barely had the time to stop before a collision between them and that shape occurred.
“Eli,” Noel exclaimed.
How could the boy tell? Logan examined the creature fallen at their feet. It was a half-formed lycan. A part of him was still human, and his naked skin was visible in places, while the rest of him was covered in fur.
And he wasn’t moving. Noel got down quickly and rushed to Eli – since he was so convinced that was Rhett’s mate.
“Eli,” Noel said, shaking the fallen lycan, “come on, say something.”
Logan moved slowly through the undergrowth, drawn to a scent more powerful than all the others he had experienced ever in his life. It drew him near a clearing opening not far. The sounds that reached his ears—
Slurps. That was what they were. He could hear them loud and clear. Logan’s nostrils flared, ready to absorb whatever information the scent carried by the night breeze could offer.
An unmistakable, enormous power. Logan continued to walk and entered the clearing.
The vampire was there, bent over a naked body, drawing his power from it. Logan watched in horrified fascination.
Veyr, that was him, was sucking Rhett off. And he did go as if he wanted to inhale the student’s cock altogether. While the scene before him was enough to send him in fight mode, at the same time, his beast nature demanded a different kind of satisfaction. Logan sensed his organ growing monstrously between his hind legs. It was at full length now, because the head was brushing the ground, sending shivers up his spine, turning his blood into molten lava.
He growled low in his chest. What right had the vampire to feed on a lycan’s power? Logan attacked without a second thought.
His entire body smacked against the vampire, and then sent back like a ball bouncing off a wall. Logan let out a surprised growl as he landed several feet away.
The beast was taking over, he could feel it. And it demanded that Logan attacked the vampire to protect his kin.

Eli heard a voice calling insistently for him, but it took him a few good moments to realize that it belonged to Noel.
“Hey,” Noel said, still shaking him, “don’t be dead or something, dude.”
“I’m not dead,” Eli managed to mumble. “What’s going on?”
“I have no idea, but Veyr is busy sucking off your boyfriend, and Logan--” Noel stopped abruptly. “Logan!” he cried out anxiously.
Eli rolled on the ground until he was on all fours again. Veyr was at it again, and that made an anger he didn’t know he possessed turn into a maddening flurry of emotions. He felt his head snapping left and right with no possibility to keep it from doing so.
Veyr’s laughter reached him before anything else. The vampire lifted his head, his lips coated with white. There was plenty dripping on his chin, too, and Eli recognized the scent as belonging to Rhett.
His Rhett.
He howled in frustration. He needed to destroy the vampire who thought himself entitled to what belonged to Eli only.
“Do you think you can take me, pup?” Veyr taunted him, wiping his lips slowly and sucking whatever was left off his fingers. “Your lycan prince is delicious. So untouched. If you wanted him, you should have acted sooner.”
Eli launched himself at Veyr, knocking him on the ground. But the vampire grabbed him by the throat, letting out a maniacal laughter.
“Don’t you think I know your kind? Always so shy and wanting, but never daring to get what they wish for. Your lycan prince is not yours, pup. He’s mine now. I tasted his seed, and it’s delicious.”
Eli struggled furiously. He tried to claw Veyr’s face, but the vampire laughed and only brought their faces closer.
“You tempt me as a snack,” he whispered. “But why would I ruin my palate now, when I can so easily feast on the best cum in the world?”
Eli wheezed as the vampire kept on crushing his windpipe. His beast strived to fend off the deadly squeeze, but it was impossible, and slowly he was losing the fight.
“Get off him!” someone yelled from behind.
“More snacks,” Veyr said with a suffering sighs. “Who has time for all of you?”
“Logan,” Eli heard Noel shouting, “Eli is in trouble, hurry!”
“You’ll be dead meat by the time they get to you,” the vampire said.
Eli thought he was done for. His eyes were rolling in his head and—
The gasp emerging from Veyr’s throat cut through the haze that came with him losing his consciousness.
The grip loosened, finally giving Eli the chance to breathe. He was caught by strong arms from behind.
“What’s happening to him?” Noel asked, without hiding his surprise.
Eli understood quickly what Noel meant. The vampire was on the ground now, writhing in pain and clawing at his throat.
Professor Hayes was close to them now. Eli wasn’t even shocked to see him naked and partially transformed into a lycan. His eyes took in Veyr’s torment, too astonished to move. He and Noel both were watching in horror, while Professor Hayes, the clearer head among them, hurried by Rhett’s side.
“Ah,” Eli barely managed, gingerly touching his throat. “It must be…” he struggled to speak, “just like when Cole tried to fuck me…”
“What do you mean?” Noel pressed for an answer.
“I think,” Eli whispered, his eyes glued to the vampire rolling on the ground, clutching his stomach now, “this stupid vampire shouldn’t have tried to swallow the cum of a mated lycan prince.”
“That’s what happened?” Noel asked. “Should we kick him now? I’m afraid to get close, not gonna lie!”
“Let’s get to Rhett,” Eli said, crawling on the ground.
Noel took him by one arm, and only then Eli realized that he had returned to his human form. Ignoring the vampire now, he limped to where Rhett was lying on the ground, with Professor Hayes by his side.
The professor moved out of the way as soon as Eli was near. He collapsed on his mate’s chest and touched his face.
“Rhett, listen to me,” he said softly, “I know you’re not dead, because lycan princes don’t die from getting blown by a vampire. He was also saying something about keeping you alive to suck you off every single day, so you see, you can’t just go against that powerful a spell or whatever--”
Rhett’s chest heaved, interrupting his plea. Eli climbed on top of him and kissed his lips. If they were bonded, mated, all that jazz, it had to work. He didn’t even need the book on the howling gene to tell him that.

“Logan,” Noel said, grabbing his arm, “the vampire looks like he’s about to kick the bucket. Should we speed up his demise or something?”
Noel made a good point. Logan turned his attention from the lycan prince and his mate and began moving towards the writhing vampire.
“You won’t get me, you mutt,” Veyr grumbled, lying on his back, his entire body shaken by convulsions. “You won’t kill me.”
“I can try,” Logan said, “but it looks like you’ve done a good job yourself already.”
“Just tell me,” Veyr coughed and spit some cum, “had that foolish lycan marked that bitch?”
“Couldn’t you tell yourself? The boy transformed. You’re one stupid vampire. Now, it looks like that cum you were so crazy about is going to eat up your insides. I hope it feels as bad as it looks.”
“Hayes,” Veyr said with a sneer, “that’s the first time I hear you talk like this. I thought you were of a different stock.”
“Because of your idiotic plotting, I am now a beast that can’t control his cock. I’d say that those days from before are well behind me. Now, before you end up as dead as you deserve, tell me. What will happen to us? Will your curse persist? Do I have to continue knotting that poor boy?”
Veyr laughed and grimaced from the pain. “That poor boy is crazy about your knot, mutt. I’d say it’s a blessing. You’ll get to fuck your fill for decades. Don’t you think I just gave you a wonderful gift?”
“Not at all. There must be something we can do to end it. Speak.”
“Why would I? If you let me die, you’ll never break it.”
“So it is in your power,” Logan growled. “And you’re not above blackmailing us.”
“Does it surprise you? I can break the spell on all those unmated, but you’ll have to keep knotting the stupid bitch who spread his legs for you.”
Logan pondered. All the boys locked in the infirmary. The others that had to be roaming the grounds.
They still had a chance, and as their professor, he had a duty to do everything in his power to help them get free from the curse.
“I shouldn’t even talk to you and let you become dust, but I must know. What do you need to free the others?”
“What I always crave, Professor Hayes,” Veyr said in a mocking tone. “A lot of cum, and we’re even.”
