GrowlBoys is a different kind of site that offers sucking, fucking, jerking off, and some puppy play, furry play, bondage, and kink. It's part porn site with videos and pictures, but each episode is also told in erotic story format, and accompanying the stories are comic book panels that give yet another way to enjoy the story.

According to the About page, the site is based on an ancient Roman writing called "The Book of Changes", which seems to be a GrowlBoys fictional creation. "The Book of Changes was concerned above all with semen - the divine seed of the Thebans that serves as the catalyst for the marvelous transformations the book's bewildered human protagonists experience. After being surprised by beings the characters believe to be gods, they are pursued, inseminated, and then begin to exhibit characteristics of creatures spanning kingdom Animalia". So, in other words, guys are pursued by these Thebans, fucked and bred, then afterward, these lads begin turning into mythological creatures with horns or dog ears, or even a full dog or raccoon face and snout. There's a little tentacle porn, as well.

The younger guys at GrowlBoys (called Prometheans) are mostly in their twenties and range from twinks to jocks. I recognized a few of them from this producer's other project, but they are listed by only first name or are named according to the creature they turn into, so Cole Blue is called Cole Rabbit. You can expect clean-shaven guys with mostly smooth bodies that vary from slim to athletic physiques, and some are a little more defined than others. There are also some older men on the site (called Thebans); I saw Bishop Angus from Missionary Boys and other daddies in their late thirties or early forties.

A bit more about the men. Since the storyline says that the bred guys begin physical transformations, some of the guys end up with horns or animal ears, and some go even further with full facial make-up so their faces resemble a dog or raccoon, but their bodies remain human as they were. So think of these sessions as an enhanced bit of puppy play, but instead of wearing leather dog masks or puppy tail butt plugs, the effect is achieved with prosthetics and make-up.

GrowlBoys has eight series - they call them stories - each with between three and 10 chapters; each chapter is an update. "Midsemester Night's Dream" has seven chapters, "Stray" has five, "Big Cat" has fhree, and "Lost Boys" has 10, "A New World" has five chapters, "The Monsteer" has four, "The Kid" has five, and the newest story called "Stripes" has four chapters so far. Each chapter is released as its own update, and the chapters are numbered, but there's no indication as to how many more chapters will be coming. Each chapter has comic book pages, plenty of text, photos and full video scene.

In the first chapter of "Midsemester Night's Dream" a geeky, bespectacled twink arrives at university and catches the eye of a jock college student. The senior jock fucks the younger student, and in the process the senior's head sprouts horns. He's a satyr. Now the twink has received the satyr's seed and starts going through a transformation of his own. The next day, the student looks up in the mirror to see that he's grown big, dog ears. He gets the urge to jack off and goes to his bed. His face continues to transform until his nose turns into a dog snout. He jerks off and cums all over himself.

The following day, he has sex with another blond guy, a little older than he perhaps, but still a twink. While getting his dick sucked, the bespectacled guy sprouts his ears again and he jacks off all over the other blond's body. In the preview for the next scene, rather than being turned off by the student's dog ears, the cum-soaked guy is turned on and wants to fuck him. Does that mean this other blond will begin a transformation as well? I'm not giving that away - no spoilers here.

There are 43 GrowlBoys videos, each available as a single download or multiple streaming parts which makes sense as each clip is shown next to the part of the story it relates to. The videos are good quality MP4s available to download in four sizes from 640x360 to 1920x1080. Some of the videos are crisp with good picture quality, others are more artistice, so they're filmed with subtle lighting with various artistic filters or even smoke appearing around the guys. At the right of each story (the pages scroll sideways), you'll find the streaming clips. These are sized at 980x552 in your choice of two quality levels; if you want to enlarge them, choose HD for better quality, and they're mobile compatible.

To find the picture sets and full videos, when you go to a story or chapter, select PICS & DOWNLOADS. If you prefer to stream the videos in clips, just scroll sideways to get them within the comic and story.

Each chapter also has a gallery of "high resolution images" (around 24 to 30+ for each) that display at 800x1200 or 1800x1013, depending on their orientation. You view them in thumbnail galleries in a viewer with forward and back controls, but there's no hands-free slideshows. You can download the pictures individually, but there's no zip download available. Each chapter also has those comic book panels, and they come in various sizes; one I downloaded was 780x1165 and another was 1300x1932, and these are only available to save individually.

Now let's talk about updates. The site hasn't grown much - it's added just six videos in the past 22 months, but when I contacted a site rep for clarification, he said the site is still updating, and they're planning to start updating more frequently. There are no dates, so I have no way to confirm this except to check back in a few months, which I'll do and report back.

If you choose to join via a standalone membership, you'll get downloads but no extra content. If, however, you join via a more expensive Carnal Plus network membership, you'll get access to 3,125 streaming videos from 16 sites including Growl Boys, Gaycest, Boy for Sale and Masonic Boys, Twink Top, Scout Boys and Fun-Size Boys plus more. The network updates five times a week.

There are some issues to be aware of. I was hit with a pop-over when I logged in that covered the member area, but just click the X in the upper right corner to make it disappear. By joining, you automatically give the site permission to send you commercial emails with no way to opt out until later. The membership are currently sale prices, but be aware that they all rebilll at significantly higher prices. While a standalone Growl Boys membership includes downloads, if you opt for a network membership, downloads are only available with a paid upgrade. I found the site's organization and navigation can be confusing, particularly the sideways scrolling on the chapters; because each story is broken into individual chapters with videos, stories, and cartoons, you'll need to poke around for a few minutes to figure out the lay of this site. I suppose there are advantages to running several stories concurrently, but it also could be a while before you reach the end of any one story, assuming the stories will end.

GrowlBoys is a unique site with a creative concept that gives us a little furry porn, tentacle porn, hot sex, kink and bondage, and each update includes well-written erotic story along with comic book panels and video clips. But don't worry if you're not a comic reader; you can simply click into the "Pics & Download" section for each episode and download the videos. There are 43 exclusive videos, each a chapter from a story, and the site averages about an update every three to four months. I think GrowlBoys deserves a thumbs up for stretching its imagination and creating something completely different.
