Is Family Dick Heading In the Wrong Direction?

I've been a fan of Family Dick ever since the site debuted in Pornland in September 2017. It's scenes have always snuggled up to the line, even hugged it, but never crossed it. I've found their scenarios titillating, exciting, and of course, dirty. They often feel like we're watching something we shouldn't. So what's the problem?

This week in Do You Measure Up? porn performer Wesley Woods is making his debut on Family Dick. I don't have a problem with Woods per se, but one of Family Dick's strengths has always been that the guys they cast in their scenes are largely newcomers, second-stringers, or guys who are just making a name for themselves. Their lack of notoriety helps sell the scene because I don't have to imagine that Wesley Woods is someone's stepbrother.

I'm forever hitting up the marketing guy of Family Dick's marketing company and asking, "Who's that dark-haired guy in the latest scene?" And he invariably says, "I don't know, he's new. I don't even think he has a name yet." That's what makes Family Dick hot for me -- underexposed men and virtual unknowns.

So can we now expect a stampede of the same old faces? I hope not. Sure Myles Landon and Bishop Angus have appeared in dozens of Family Dick and Missionary Boys (aka Mormon Boyz) scenes, and both men have performed on other porn sites, too. So what about them? Angus pretty much got his start on Missionary Boys, so he still fits on that site and moving to Family Dick seemed natural. He's not overexposed. Myles Landon has also filmed a lot of scenes for both sites, but he has tended to film with many more B-list porn sites. And let's face it, he just works as a dirty stepfather.

Now that Family Dick has opened the doors and allowed Wesley Woods to walk through, are we going to end up with a parade of familiar faces just looking for their next gig? I'd rather those performers stay on the other side of the fence pumping out scenes for more paint-by-number porn companies like MEN.com and Falcon Studios. Stay away from smaller gems like Family Dick, Missionary Boys, and the newest fauxcest site, Brother Crush.
