Flashback: Black & White & Naked All Over

It's always good to say what makes you grateful. For instance, maybe it's that special someone in your life. Or maybe it's you Fleshlight. Or maybe that special someone in your life is your Fleshlight. And your Fleshlight probably can't understand what you say (like if you talk to a pet goldfish) but you do and that's all that matters.

So I'll say I'm grateful that early porn publications didn't have much budge for color, not for color film or printing. Because we end up with gorgeous contrast and backgrounds that might otherwise look cheap and tacky are transformed into a film noir movie set.

Though of course many of the backgrounds were cheap and tacky and models just wanted to get paid rather than seeing it as a glamorous situation, with the exception of some of the physique models who went on to Hollywood (or the Italy version of Hollywood for sword and sandal schlock flicks). Yes, I mean you Ed Fury.

How can you make all this work for you now? Consider some grayscale photos in your dating or hookup profile. And amp up the contrast until you're giving Montgomery Clift or Sidney Poitier or Greta Garbo or Lena Horne.

Glamour can be the factor that sets you apart, invites the viewer in, and makes your smile pop without distraction. Besides, I grew up watching Star Trek in black and white and when I finally saw it in color, it wasn't much different because my mind had already filled in the colors to an extent. The contrast was already there, in thousands of different whites and grays and blacks.

And it wasn't all about the visuals anyhow, but the messages, meanings and philosophies. And so are you. Maybe black and white gets closer to that. So I'm grateful to be able to admire these men's bodies and faces and poses without distraction.
