Chapter 7

Epilogue

As Jon eventually eased his spent cock from Chris, he looked down into Chris’s eyes and saw a red flame in his pupils and smiled. Chris saw the same in Jon’s eyes before they kissed once more, and both saw stars. As they broke from their kiss, Chris sarcastically said to Jon, “Yeah, I don’t feel any different either. Later that evening, Chris and Jon met Vladimir for dinner as planned. They were a little surprised by the streak of grey in Vladimir’s hair. Vladimir noticed and said, “I think it adds some character”. Chris and Jon both laughed at Vladimir’s joke though both understood the meaning behind the change.

After a dinner of filet mignon and lobster, Vladimir went over some details of his foundation and what it all entailed. Chris and Jon were a little overwhelmed by it all, but Vladimir said the attorneys would take care of most of it as well as the members of the board of directors which conducted most of the day-to-day operations. Chris and Jon were mostly surprised by Vladimir’s investment in homelessness, mostly youths, runaways and those thrown out of their homes. It became evident that they would no longer be able nor need to keep their jobs as they took on their new roles as partners in the foundation. As they left Vladimir’s hotel apartment, they both realized they were losing a dear friend who was far more than the monster they had initially thought he was. The next day they both put in their two-week notices.

Friday evening, they met up with Vladimir’s attorneys who assured them everything would transfer flawlessly, especially now that they were officially partners in the foundation. They seemed to know more than they let on.

Saturday morning Chris woke up with his stiff cock pressed between Jon’s firm buns. Jon pushed back into him seductively. They were soon in a sixty-nine, and then swallowing each other’s seed before fucking each other’s brains out once again, filling each other with their seed and feeling the incredible power that it filled them with. They then went up to the park to play tennis. They didn’t get to finish the game before both of their rackets were destroyed by the force of the volleys. “I’ve never seen anyone destroy a tennis racket like that and to see you both do it battling each other is just astonishing”, Chris and Jon both turned toward the direction of the voice and found Scott grinning at them. Chris greeted him, “Hey Scott! Good to see you. I guess we got a little carried away”. Scott laughed and said, “A little. I’d hate to see you two when you really get carried away then”. Jon then asked, “How’s Kyle’s ankle”? Scott’s face lit up, “He’s fine, back to normal. As a matter of fact, he took my car to pick up Cain. We were hoping to find two others so we could play in today’s tournament. We haven’t played since Kyle’s injury. Know two guys who might be interested”? Chris and Jon traded glances and then Jon said, “Well, our tennis game seems to be over for today. We could make ourselves available if you can’t find someone better”. Scott laughed and said, “I’ll have to confer with my brother and Kyle, but even if you don’t play as well as you did the other week, I don’t think we’ll be able to come up with two better than you. You made the three of us play better than we ever did. We’d have won the tournament if Kyle hadn’t injured his ankle”.

Kyle and Cain showed up and as they searched the bleachers looking for Scott, they were pleasantly surprised to see Chris and Jon sitting next to him. Kyle raced up the steps to greet them. Scott chastised him, “Yo Kyle! Don’t go injuring that ankle again by running the steps”! Kyle approached and greeted Jon and Chris by shaking their hands, then looked over at Scott, “Just warming the ankle up for the tournament, Scott”. Scott laughed and said, “Sure Kyle. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the giddiness you felt after seeing these two next to me. After all, you’ve been talking about them since the tournament”. Kyle grinned, “Yeah, that too”, then he looked to Chris and Jon and asked, “You’re playing, right”? “They better”, Cain said as he made his way toward them.

Their first game started off with the other team’s center tipping the ball toward one of his players, but out of nowhere, Chris stole the ball and was headed downcourt before anyone realized what had happened. He scored the layup and returned up the court grinning. Jon noticed the red sparkle in his eyes and smiled. The other team brought the ball up and began passing it around while trying to get a clean shot. This time, Jon reached in and slapped the ball away and into Chris’s hands. Kyle was already headed downcourt and Chris passed him the ball for another easy layup. The other team was now rattled and continued making mistakes and were soon blown out 21-4. The Monster (Alexander) and his team also won their game 21-16.

Round two began by Cain tipping the ball to Jon and he took it in and surprised everyone by dunking it. Everyone in the audience was cheering him as he landed lightly on his feet with a red sparkle in his eyes. The game was over quickly as they finished with a 21-6 score as a murmur was heard in the bleachers. The team they had just beaten was rumored to be in the finals.

Round three had them play the first game and Alexander’s team would play after. Once again, Chris and Jon smothered their opponents defensively, stealing the ball numerous times and feeding the ball to their teammates with amazing passes. They won 23-12 and the murmur in the crowd had turned much louder. Alexander’s team then faced the same team they had faced in the last tournament in the third round. The game was again close, but Alexander seemed to take over the game and was much more physical than before. They won 21-18 but seemed exhausted by the effort. They would need the entire fifteen-minute break to recover.

Game time and Alexander looked over at us smiling. He knew his team was in trouble, but he wasn’t going to go down easy. Even though Cain won the jump ball and tipped it to Scott, Alexander was physical and was pushing Cain around and keeping him out of the paint. It didn’t matter though as the others were making perimeter shots like they were only a foot away and the defense was smothering Alexander’s team, creating turnovers on almost every possession. It was soon 15-2 and Alexander was showing his exhaustion. Chri’s three-pointer made it 18-2 and it was obvious. When Alexander’s team brought the ball up court, their big forward had the ball. Chris was covering one of their guards and when his back was to the ball, the forward threw the ball hard at the back of Chris’s head. Alexander looked on in horror as his own team member was intentionally trying to hurt someone on the other team to get a forfeit. Amazingly, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, Chris reached back and caught the ball, then turned, grinning at the forward who had thrown it. Chris then threw a pass to a running Kyle who went in for a layup, making it 20-2. Alexander marched over and shoved his big forward to the floor and told him if he ever saw that action from him again, he was off the team. Alexander then went over and apologized to Chris, who accepted the apology graciously. On their next possession, Alexander took an inside pass and slam-dunked the ball with gusto. Kyle missed a jump shot and Alexander dunked another. Cain winked toward Scott, an indication he was backing off Alexander. The score was now 20-6 and Kyle threw a pass to Chris, who passed to Jon. Jon immediately threwe it back to an open Kyle who took the shot. Game over at 22-6. The crowd erupted in applause with everyone standing. The teams shook hands and the big forward from Alexander’s team walked up to Chris and apologized for his ill-tempered behavior, then asked him how he knew the ball was there. Chris said he heard someone warn him and just reached behind him and the ball was there. Jon heard what Chris said and grinned in amusement. As Alexander made his way to congratulate each member of the opposing team, he made a point to let Chris and Jon know that they had lifted their team to a level they never would have otherwise achieved. As everyone crowded around in celebration of the win, Chris and Jon said their goodbyes and explained they had a prior engagement they had to go to.

Chris and Jon rushed back to Chris’s apartment and showered, together, before heading to meet Vladimir for dinner. When they arrived at the exclusive restaurant, they were escorted to a private room where they were seated across from a much older Vladimir. He seemed to have aged forty years in the past week. Neither Chris nor Jon made a comment, but Vladimir knew what they were thinking, “Yes, my friends. I am wreaking what I have sown. Death will come for me soon and I will welcome it with open arms. Do not grieve for me, but instead celebrate the ending of a curse which took so many lives too soon”. Chris smiled weakly, “We will most certainly celebrate the ending of the curse, Vladimir, but do you mind if we also celebrate your life? Whether you admit it or not, your life was so much more than the curse. After seeing what you have done with your foundation, it is apparent that you at least tried to counter your curse with a devotion to helping others in need. I wish I would have known you longer. Would you mind if we visited you daily until the end? I would like to stay near you until your surrender to death’s calling”. Vladimir smiled, “Even though I may look like death himself, if not warmed over”? Jon grinned, “Even then Vladimir. I feel honored to have known you now that I have an understanding who the real you is”. Vladimir smiled at Jon’s word salad, “I would be honored by the presence of both of you my dear friends. My only regret is that my friend Josh is no longer with us to see his dream of ending the curse become a reality”. Chris responded, “Josh was the one who told me about the curse and the way he believed it could be ended. If not for him, I don’t think we would have figured it out, so I think he’s been with us every step of the way, Vladimir”. Vladimir smiled, “I believe you may be right Chris. I believe he is with us now, in spirit. Did you have a good game today”? Chris and Jon looked at each other, smiles on their faces as Jon said, “Yes Vladimir, we had a very good game” Vladimir smiled.

As they drove home, Jon asked Chris, “How did he know about our game”? Chris just smiled and said, “I think the three of us have a connection now, at least until Vladimir passes. He’s seen our thoughts and he now must share some kind of connection with us, with the magic”. Jon looked over at Chris and said, “What magic? You know I don’t believe in that crap”, as the black of his pupils lit up with red fire”. Chris grinned and replied, “Yeah, me neither”, while that same flame resided in his own pupils.

Jon and Chris went over to visit Vladimir every day until the following Friday, when they were greeted by the attorneys who said he had passed that afternoon, following a lunch he had with an old friend named Joshua. Chris and Jon shared knowing looks and then gathered with the attorneys to make funeral arrangements.

Saturday morning, Chris read the obituary for Vladimir. It said his birth date was unknow because it was lost when he emigrated to the United States but didn’t state what year he had emigrated. It did state he had full citizenship. The funeral was only attended by Chris, Jon, and the attorneys. One other person stopped by toward the end, Chris, and Jon’s friend Brad. He said he had read the obituary and knew who it had to be. He assured them he would never speak a word of what had occurred on that night and said if they ever needed him, he would be there for them.  They both thanked him and insured him they would stay in touch.

As Chris and Jon arrived back at Chris’s apartment, they embraced and shed tears over the loss of their friend, then Chris said, “Remember, we’re supposed to celebrate the ending of the curse and the real life of our friend, Vladimir Darius”. Jon grinned and asked, “So, how do we celebrate”? Chris’s eyes lit up in fire and said, “I have some ideas”.

Chris and Jon expanded the foundation throughout the world. They had acquired a mansion in southern California where they eventually adopted two youths from their youth rescue centers which they visited often. Not surprisingly, the two youths’ names were Joshua and Vladimir.
