I did live in or at least visited many of the locations introduced into my stories in the era featured. Most of my stories have a seed of truth or personal experience but there's much fictional embellishment. I was (and still am to an extent) a runner and swimmer into short shorts, speedos and tan-lines. Public swimming pools and beaches with sand dunes or quiet coves, were some of my favourite locations. I have dabbled with CP. Half remembered newspaper reports of the time about court cases involving homosexual 'crimes' and sentencing young men to corporal punishment, are a rich source of ideas.
