I sat bolt upright in a bed I didn't recognize. I stared down at the black satin sheets and looked next to me on the bed. Zak was next to me, his hands resting behind his head, the picture of relaxation.

He wore a black silk shirt that blended in nicely with the sheets, and a pair of navy blue jeans. I was wearing some form of boxers judging by the feeling and was sporting a hard on.

“That was real just now wasn't it?” I mumbled

“That depends on your definition of 'real'.” Zak said wiggling his eyebrows on the word real.

“I'll take that as a yes.” I said blushing slightly

He cocked an eyebrow at me before continuing “I will ask just one thing, don’t call me babe, given my age I am anything but a babe.”

I chuckled lightly apologising as I lay back down on the bed and rolled onto my side to face him. I reached out and ran a hand lightly down his face. He sighed and closed his eyes leaning into my hand like a cat seeking attention.

A noise grew from his chest, not quite a purr but close enough.

“So warm.” he said quietly leaning closer against my hand

His skin seemed colder than normal, but I had always preferred the cold to the heat. I shuffled closer to him and wrapped my arms around him pulling him under the covers.

He did his half purring thing again and nestled against my chest. Even though I had become something other than human, I still felt like me.

“And since when were you a king?” I asked Zak

“Oh that. For around 500 years or so.” he said more interested in snuggling against my chest.

“And how is Dominic your cousin?” I asked quietly

“My maker's maker had three progenies, one of them is my maker Dieter another is a vampire named Michael and the other is a vampire named David. He had one progeny, that is Dominic.” Zak muttered quietly, obviously distracted thinking about something else

“How old are they all?” I asked

“Dieter is around 5450, David is around 3300 and Michael is around 2300.” Zak said lightly running his fingers up my chest

“Wow.” I said not quite sure to say

“Penny for your thoughts?” I asked lightly stroking his hair

“Trying not to do anything.” he said quietly

“Anything in particular?” I asked suggestively tugging him closer against me

He lifted his head and I saw his fangs peeking out below his lips

“You have no idea how hard you are to resist, being this close to you is difficult, even more so than before. Now that your Fae side has become active your blood is very hard to resist.” he said inhaling against my chest his nose skimming upwards.

He reached my neck and rested over the vein, I rolled onto my back pulling him on top of me. His breathing accelerated, and I held him closer against my chest.

“Shhh, relax. I know you won't hurt me.” I mumbled, my hands stroking his spine beneath his shirt

“We need to leave soon.” he said. His lips however kissed over my throat belaying his intent.

I pulled him away from my neck and pressed his lips against mine. My tongue tapped against his lips seeking entrance. He opened his mouth and his tongue hesitantly met mine. I kissed around his fangs, but Zak still seemed reluctant. Scared of harming me. I pricked my lower lip on his fang.

He tensed as my blood flavoured the kiss. I felt the shift when he finally let go of his precious control. His hands gripped my arms roughly and he growled low in his throat. The kiss became more heated and I reached up and tore at the buttons on Zak's shirt.

When he was finally topless I moved my attention towards his jeans. He broke the kiss and I tore at his jeans leaving him in his green boxers. Well my new strength was coming in handy. I dragged him back down between my legs and felt our cocks press eagerly against each other, still restricted through layers of clothing.

I flipped us over too quickly so that now I was on top. I stared down at his almost naked form and gulped. The idea of this perfect creature wanting me awoke some deeply possessive part of me.

I leaned down and began planting kisses over the soft flesh of his chest. I reached his left nipple and was rewarded with a moan.

I moved down his chest systematically growing ever closer to his cock. I reached his boxers and reached up to pull them down his legs when a knock at the door stopped me.

I groaned loudly accompanied by a growl from Zak.

“Do you need to answer that?” I said running my hand down his chest

He sighed lightly then continued

“I am afraid I have to; the life of a monarch is a busy one.” he said regretfully

I leaned in and lightly pecked him on the lips

“Later then.” I said suggestively

I moved off him and he swung himself off the bed with Vampiric speed. He moved to the door, still in his green underwear. I watched appreciatively from the bed, enjoying the view the tight-fitting fabric gave me. He really did have a nice ass.

Zak opened the heavy wooden door and moved aside to allow the person inside. He was a male vampire with brown eyes, a pale complexion, and curly dark brown hair worn short. He wore a pair of leggings, a shirt with short sleeves, and a pair of short embroidered boots.

I could tell he was a vampire because the moment he stepped into the room his fangs dropped, his eyes widened, and he stared at me in awe. He inhaled deeply again, and I saw his brown eyes darken.

“Joshua.” Zak said harshly

Joshua's eyes flickered to Zak slowly and he blinked dazed.

“I apologize your majesty, I came to inform you that Valeria has arrived and has requested to see you.” Joshua said slowly

“Very well I shall be there shortly.” Zak said dismissing Joshua with a wave of his hand

Joshua bowed before turning and closing the door behind him. Zak sighed and turned back to me.

He moved to a wardrobe and pulled out a white t-shirt, which he pulled over himself and a pair of beige khakis.

He moved to a drawer and rummaged through it, he pulled out a long sleeved grey top and a pair of blue jeans. He tossed them to me and I caught them deftly. I quickly put them on and moved towards Zak. He was sitting on the bed unmoving. I sat next to him and reached a hand out to his shoulder.

“Zak what's wrong? Who is Valeria?” I asked

He turned his head and smiled slightly attempting to comfort me

“She is the governor in charge of London, I am hesitant because you are here. My court would be hesitant of having a human with me, I have no idea how they will react when they find I bring a Fae.”

I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. I raised a hand and pressed it against his cheek. His tongue met mine and I tenderly kissed him. I pulled back a few seconds later and was happy to see his eyes a shade darker than before.

“I'm not afraid, of you or any vampire.” I said caressing his cheek

“You should be. I could kill you, a moments lapse in concentration is all it would take, likewise for the rest of my kin.” he said seriously

“I have you to protect me” I said kissing him lightly on the lips

“And I trust you completely” I finished giving him another kiss, this time longer than before.

“You should be careful of doing that. Anyroad, we need to go now, Valeria will be waiting.” he said pulling away.

He stood up and offered a hand to me. I took it and he led me barefoot out of the bedroom.

Outside the room was an elaborate hallway panelled with polished mahogany, and soft carpets.

Outside the door stood two huge men dressed in black trousers and short sleeved t-shirts. They followed our progress along the corridor trailing behind us. I couldn't help but notice that their fangs had dropped.

We walked to the end of the corridor and turned right onto the top of a staircase. Zak led me down it and I felt his hand tighten on mine as we reached the bottom of the stairs. Directly ahead of us was a polished wooden door. Zak tensed slightly but I sorted that with a peck on the cheek.

He stepped forward and pushed open the door into a large room, an elaborate throne was against the far wall, with two less elaborate chairs positioned on either side. I noticed the crowds of people in the room turn at our entrance and stare at us.

I found out almost all the people in the room were vampires. This I found out when the draft behind me blew towards the people in the room, and I collectively saw their fangs drop as their eyes roamed over me. God, being a Fae sucked so far.

As we neared each person Zak caught their gaze, as he did each of them in turn lowered their heads and knelt as we walked past. I noticed a woman near the throne. I guessed she was Valeria. She was white with blonde hair down to her shoulders, her grey eyes flickered over me and she smiled widely. It was like looking at a crocodile, all the teeth showing, including her wickedly sharp fangs.

She wore a knee length blue dress and matching high heels. She too knelt before us and Zak continued to lead me towards the thrones. A black-haired vampire stood to the side, his startling amber eyes stood out as he caught my gaze. He gave me a happy smile and waved at me. Zak let go of my hand and moved towards the central throne.

I moved forward hesitantly, and Zak motioned to the throne to his right. The black-haired vampire moved to the throne on Zak's left. Once he had sat down the vampires rose to their feet. The woman Valeria I guessed moved forward and locked eyes with me before turning them to Zak

“My king might I ask as to why you have brought a Fae into our midst. As I understood it the Fae were our enemies. Personally, I would be happy to take care of the problem.” she said with her crocodile smile.

She moved towards me almost too fast for me to see, thankfully Zak was faster than I was. In a second, she was suspended in the air by her throat.

She struggled slightly then Zak said in a voice like ice

“Anyone else care to attack my mate? I have not had a good fight in decades.”

Two vampires stepped forward and I assumed they intended to fight Zak.

“We waged war with the Fae centuries ago, I haven't had a taste since” one of them said threateningly

I felt a heat stir inside of me, I had an urge to protect Zak over everything else. I looked down at my hands and saw small blue sparks arcing between my fingers and along my knuckles. Zak threw Valeria across the room and past the two vampires.

I rose to my feet and stepped in front of Zak, blocking any approach from the two vampires. They hesitated slightly, before each or them tensed like a cobra preparing to strike. I extended my hand, palm out, twisting as I did so with the small blue sparks coalescing into an arc of lightning striking first one, and then the other squarely in the chest. They crumbled as the smell of ozone filled the air and I felt a pleasantly warm rush shoot up my arm.

“Anyone else care to step up!” I said still shielding Zak, the urge to protect him still foremost in my mind.

No one made a move. I returned to my seat with Zak and stared out at the surprised vampires. Valeria was rising to her feet, but the other two vampires remained on the floor. Well that power may come in handy. Valeria sprung to her feet, dusted herself off and returned to her place at the front of the room.

She bowed her head and spoke to Zak

“I apologise for my outburst, I did not realise that he was your mate. I hope that my outburst will not influence the agenda I am here to present.”

“On this one occasion you are forgiven Valeria, but let it be known.” Zak said addressing the other twenty or so vampires “That any vampire who harms my mate, will wish they had never been blooded.”

He nodded to Valeria and she stepped forward.

“My majesty, I am here to ask you regarding the passing of the new law, I myself do not believe it should be passed. What is the fun in being a vampire if you can't kill humans. Not all of us want to treat humans as our equals. We are Vampire. Above the mortals.” Valeria said imbuing the word Vampire with majesty

I glared at her and rose to my feet.

“And what is it that makes humans so different from vampires?” I asked accusingly

“They are lesser life forms, they are but food to us” She said again showing her crocodile smile

“You were once human. You were born human, however many centuries ago that may be” I argued.

“As if the Fae are much better. There is a reason why most of your race is extinct, and you'll soon follow them.” she grinned widely at me. Her smile was unnerving in its innocence.

“Was that a threat Valeria?” Zak said with a voice like ice as he stepped in front of me. A low growl grew in his throat and the smile died from Valeria's face.

“I am older and stronger than you Valeria and your king. You will obey me.” Zak said, his voice exuding the same icy cool as before.

His body though smaller than mine, was positioned protectively in front of me, emanating a predatory aura of power. He faced the other vampires again his voice turning authoritative as he said

“As you know, I journeyed from this court to decide whether the law should be passed, the law to ban over feeding on humans to the point of death. Let it be known this law, is passed in my kingdom as of now, killing and feeding from a human is only permitted in the instance of danger to a vampire or mate thereof”

The vampires erupted in hushed whispers at this. Zak sighed at this and his voice took on an malevolent edge as he spoke this time.

“Silence, this is my decision and if you do not wish to be a part of my kingdom, leave now.”

The voices ceased. No-one moved.

“Very well then, this court is adjourned. We shall meet again in 3 days’ time. And my governors, spread the word” Zak said a hint of a smile in his voice. He turned and extended a hand to me.

I took it happily and he led me back along the carpet towards the door. As we passed each vampire they knelt.

We finally reached the door and walked out closing the door behind us. Zak relaxed and leaned against me resting his head on my shoulder. I moved my back to the wall next to the door and pulled Zak between my legs. I moved my hands to his face and pulled his lips against mine, finally.

He relaxed completely against me, giving in fully. I, however should have known we would be interrupted again. I heard a cough from in front of me and I opened my eyes regretfully.

I pulled away from Zak's lips and moved my arms around him, before looking up at the vampire.

He was male with brown eyes, an olive complexion and dark brown hair that swept gracefully over his forehead. He wore a pair of leggings, a shirt with short sleeves and leather shoes. His eyes roamed over both of us as he stood there watching.

Zak rested his head against my chest before turning around. Zak turned around and smiled widely at the man. He looked no older than twenty with a smile pasted over his face. Zak bowed his head slightly before saying

“Michael it is good to see you again”

“And you my nephew, I am happy to see you have found someone after so long” Michael said quietly his eyes flickering to me as he smiled, not even the barest hint of fang showing, a gesture I greatly appreciated.

“Michael, I thank you for your presence here in my court. How was Queen Amata?” Zak asked half turning his body away from my chest.

“She is well, though not why I am here nephew. I am here because I heard about Santiago.” Michael said softly

Zak tensed against me. I tightened my arms around him and he asked sadly

“How is it that you know he is gone?”

“I ran into Darren in London, he sensed his brother was missing. If there is anything I can do to assist you I would be happy to help.” Michael said sincerely

“Dieter has left to find him, And Louis and Marcus are attempting to find him in Virginia, but I fear there is more to this than meets the eye.” Zak said, and I sensed there was some hidden meaning in this sentence

“I agree, perhaps the situation would benefit from the presence of another elder, such as myself?” Michael asked

“An elder?” I asked pulling away from Zak

“A vampire over 1000 years of age is classified as an elder, little one.” Michael answered smiling at me

“So how old are you? If that is not too personal a question.” I asked taking Zak's hand

“I am 2303 years of age by modern standards.” Michael said nonchalantly grinning widely

“So, you lived before Jesus?” I said intrigued

“Now that's a new one, oh well...” he said chuckling quietly

“Unfortunately, I did not meet him, I did however meet one of his apostles, but that is a story for another time perhaps” Michael continurd, grinning slightly.

“Well you're looking good for 2303” I said quietly squeezing Zak's hand as I began to wonder just what Zak had learned in all of his years.

I felt my eyes tingle slightly as I looked over Michael. For an instant it was as if I could see the blood flowing through his body, seeing a series of complex patterns swirling around within him, like flotsam in a river. A multitude of colours hugged close to the contours of his body, yet as quickly as this vision appeared, it summarily vanished, leaving my head spinning slightly and receiving an odd look from Michael………….

Zak's P.O.V

*****

Michael obviously wanted to talk to me concerning Santiago but was hesitant with Oscar here. I moved away from Oscar's embrace and instead took his hand. I caught the gaze of my guards and nodded to them. They walked forwards, and I turned back to Oscar.

“I need to speak with Michael, follow the guards they will take you back to the bedroom. I will meet you there” I said smiling at him.

He nodded stiffly then walked away and was forced to let go of my hand. I watched him walk away and had a sudden urge to follow. I pushed the feeling away and looked back at Michael.

He grinned widely and began to speak once Oscar had turned the corner.

“An interesting choice of mate, I have not seen a Fae in over 60 years. It makes me wonder though.

How did you meet him?” Michael asked interested.

“I went to his school, posing as a student. When I saw him, I felt the attraction even before I inhaled his scent. I don't know why I went to that school specifically, it just caught my attention for some reason.” I said .

“Oh come, come, Zachariah, you don't have to hide it from me. We both know what this is” Michael said grinning slightly.

I lowered my head and smiled knowingly, Michael was talking about my mate. Oscar may not have consciously meant to, but he had called me to him. His blood sang for mine, drawing me to him. It was the way of the Fae; their mates are fated. It had taken me less than a second to work this out as soon as I knew he was Fae.

They are inevitably and inexplicably drawn to each other. Who knew, a Fae would become my mate. I was the most dangerous thing for him to be fated to. It explained everything about him, the draw he had on me. The effect his blood had had on my thirst too, I had to feed more often to keep my urges in check. I knew he was my mate, but did Oscar?

His Fae side may have called me to him, but consciously he had no idea. The two of us were linked. I just hoped that he wouldn't see our bond as the reason for his feelings towards me. I raised my head and looked up at Michael. He was smiling widely at me and rushed forward to hug me. I moved my arms lightly to his back and he laughed.

“I am happy for you. You should consider yourself lucky that it is a Fae who found you. You are destined to be together, I hope someday soon to find my own mate. I wish you the best my nephew.”

Michael stepped back and bowed jokingly before turning and walking away. I smiled lightly then sullenly walked towards my throne room. Valeria was standing outside, and she bowed lightly to me.

I waved my hand and she began to speak.

“Your Majesty I wish to apologize for my previous behaviour. I have not had, what you would call, a pleasant encounter with the Fae” She said regretfully.

“You will not touch him, is that clear?” I asked authoritatively.

She bowed her head and replied.

“Of course, my king.”

I waved my hand and she turned away slowly retreating from my presence. I turned myself and walked back up the staircase towards my bedroom. I lightly trailed a hand along the mahogany wood and inhaled. I sighed as my senses picked up Oscars scent. Strong and sweet in the hallway.

It was going to be difficult to keep him away from prying eyes or noses for that matter.

I turned onto my corridor to see my two guards standing on either side of the door. Their fangs were dropped and their eyes showing hints of black around the edges. They were Victor and Heig, easily over six and a half foot each with bulging muscles and rings of my office on their right hands. The rune Algiz marking them as my court.

“Leave us.” I said quietly as I approached the door.

They bowed their heads and struck their breast with a fist before walking off down the corridor.

I opened the door slowly and stepped inside. Oscar was lying on the bed facing me, his grey t-shirt gone. Giving me a tantalising view of his bare chest, which was now more muscular than before.

Not overly muscled but nicely defined. I half stopped and turned back slightly to the open door.

“Dún.” I heard Oscar say and the door swung shut behind me.

“I take it you have picked up a little practice then.” I said looking at him.

“Enough, to do this.” he said wiggling his eyebrows.

He spoke again, and his words flowed off his tongue life water in a stream.

Faoi ghlas.” he said waving his hand towards the door, I heard a clunk and guessed the door was now locked. But he wasn't done yet.

Séala dúinn I.” I shivered slightly as a wisp of magic tickled over my skin. I quickly translated and smiled. He had sealed us in, alone. No interruptions. He made sure of that when he continued.

Linn a chosaint ó ionsá.” He said again his hand again waving through the air. Now we couldn't be interrupted not until Oscar lifted the spell. Finally, he was mine, alone.

He reached up and lightly trailed a hand down his chest teasingly. I walked closer to the bed and pulled off my white top and placed a knee on the bed. I reached out and trailed a hand across his shoulder. I moved as fast as I could and pressed him back into the bed and straddled his hips. I rested my hands on his shoulders and looked down at his face. His hair was now a lighter shade closer to ginger than before, and his eyes now closer to blue.

I moved a hand up to his face and ran the back of my hand down his cheek. He sighed slightly and before his eyes surged and he quickly flipped us over. His hand moved behind my knee and he hooked my leg around his hip.

He pulled our bodies closer together and he leaned down and slowly his lips drew closer to mine. He slowly pressed his lips against mine and I melted into the kiss. His hands moved to my back and he tugged our chest closer together without breaking the kiss. I heard his heart quicken and felt his cock harden against my thigh.

I moved my hands to his back and tugged his closer against my body. My tongue traced the seam of his lips and he opened his mouth and accepted my tongue into his mouth. He was so warm against my flesh and I trailed my hands down his back. However, I was getting a little too turned on. And I felt my fangs drop quickly. Oscar pulled back slightly and stared down at me looking at my fangs.

I froze up slightly, the last time I had fed from Oscar his blood was still masked with magic. Now he was pure, his blood smelled sweeter than ever and I didn't know if I would be able to stop. Oscar leaned down slightly, and his tongue ran up one of my fangs. I focused on them and they slowly ascended back into my gums, much to Oscar's disappointment.

“Let them drop again, bite me like you did before.” He said leaning down to whisper in my ear.

“I don't know if I will be able to stop.” I moaned back.

His hips had begun to slowly gyrate in small circles rubbing our cocks together through our layers of clothing. My eyes rolled back slightly, and I felt my restraint quiver.

“What?” he said teasingly “Don't you like me anymore?”

“I might hurt you, I don't want to risk that.” I whispered slowly.

Oscar's hand slowly ran up my leg and proceeded to pull our bodies closer together. I groaned again and felt my fangs drop against my consent.

“There they are.” he said teasingly and leaning he pressed our lips together. I returned the kiss and met his tongue with mine and my hands roamed up his back. Tugging his body closer against mine I ground my hips in a slow circle. Oscar moaned lightly into my lips before breaking away and moved his lips down to my neck. His teeth lightly grazed over the vein in my neck and I felt a growl slowly build in my chest.

“Either bite me or I will.” he said seductively in my ear.

“Hmm what a choice.” I parried back running my hands up his bare back.

His teeth quickly broke through the skin of my neck and I cried out as pleasure coursed through me. He groaned quietly as my blood flowed into his mouth and my hands clawed down his back. I bucked my hips and crushed him closer against my body.

He pulled my blood into his body, moaning all the while. A few seconds later though he pulled away much to my own displeasure. As soon as he pulled away from my neck the wound began to heal, and Oscar pressed his lips back to mine.

I tasted my own blood on his lips and felt my hunger surge slightly after Oscars feeding. My fangs were still down, and Oscars tongue slowly trailed up one.

“Bite me.” Oscar whispered slowly, before kissing me again.

“I don't know if I could stop.” I muttered back running my hands slowly up his spine.

“I trust you, and I want this.” he said slowly pulling my lips back to his.

I flipped us over so that I was on top and saw him grin widely before pulling my head slowly down to his neck. His pulse thrummed beneath the vein and I slowly pressed my lips to his flesh.

No matter how many blood bags you feed on, no matter how good the blood in them, nothing, nothing truly compares to feeding from the vein. The thrum of the pulse beneath your lips, the warmth of their flesh against yours.

I pulled back my lips and allowed my fangs to drag gently against his skin before slowly piercing into the thick vein. His sweet blood flowed into my mouth and I growled loudly. His blood was incredible, so much power. It tasted of strength and power with a hint of spice thrown in. I was right to be afraid I might over feed. His blood was so potent and caused uncontrollable desire and arousal to flood my body. My cock strained away from my body although constrained through layers of fabric, I moaned as Oscar slowly ground his cock against mine.

He had gasped and moaned loudly as my fangs pierced his neck. His left hand had clamped down on the back of my head. His right however had trailed down my spine stopping once he reached the waistband of my boxers. Unfortunately, my trousers were still on, but that didn't stop Oscar for long.

“Cuimilt fabraice” he stuttered between moans, and he tugged at the fabric gently and it quite literally fell to pieces. Leaving my boxers unprotected. Oscars hands slowly slid beneath the thin fabric and skimmed over the sensitive flesh of my arse. My control, already hanging by a mere thread, was cut when he squeezed my arse and ground even harder up against me.

I pulled away from his neck and growled quietly. My hands moved to his shoulders and pinned him beneath me. I licked the blood off my teeth and then leaned down towards his chest. He looked up at me and I saw his eyes flash gold for a moment and I grinned before pressing my lips slowly to the hollow of his throat.

His hands retreated from my body and I placed them above his head, silently instructing him to keep them there. I proceeded to kiss slowly down his body, savouring each inch of soft flesh that passed under my lips. His muscles were now more defined, and I kissed each of them licking away the light coating of sweat on his skin.

I reached his waistband and reached up skimming my fingertips along the line of his boxers. I slowly allowed my fingers to drag across the fabric, feeling the hard length beneath. The thrum of his pulse was strong against my hand as I slowly moved my fingertips in teasing circles.

His heart beat accelerated further, and I noticed a dull glimmer in his skin. I moved my hands to the top button of his jeans and slowly popped it free. My hands then moved to the zip and slowly I dragged it down. I pulled back and slowly slid his jeans down his legs and off his bare feet.

I ran my hands up his thighs then I crawled up his body towards his face. I leaned down and pressed my lips against his. His hands came up to my back and tugged me closer against his chest further bringing our bodies into contact. He moved his hand lower down my back slipping beneath the fabric. His hands gripped my hips beneath my boxers and slowly slid them down my thighs.

My aching cock was now free, and my fangs ached to bite into Oscar again. Oscars hand slowly stroked along the skin of my hips, slowly his hand reached my dick.

His warm hand wrapped around my shaft and I leaned down towards Oscars face. I slowly pressed my lips against Oscars. His lips moulded against mine and I felt his tongue timidly meet my own. His hand still wrapped around me he began to teasingly stroke me. I growled and pulled away from his lips and lowered mine to his throat.

I reached down and stilled his hand. He groaned quietly, and I laughed before beginning to kiss down his chest. I reached his boxers and my hands moved to pull down his boxers.

I slowly eased them down his hips, Oscar lifting himself slightly off the bed to help me.

His boxers slowly slid off his hips and his hard cock sprung free. I growled in approval and I licked over my fangs. I leaned forward slightly and inhaled his scent. I growled again, this time louder. His cock was easily 7.5' and thick, and I looked up at him, seeing his eyes swimming with arousal as he stared down at me.

I leaned forward and allowed the tip of my tongue to tease the tip of his cock. He groaned, and his hips thrust forward slightly. He was oh so responsive, now this was going to be good. I surged forwards and minding my fangs swallowed him to the root.

His back arched off the bed and his hands fisted the bed. As I pulled my head back I allowed my fangs to lightly graze the head of his cock and he jack-knifed off the bed. I pulled away and his cock twitched slightly against his short ginger pubes.

His hands reached down and grasped the sides of my head pulling me up to his face. His lips met mine and he growled, his hands sliding down my back, the nails digging in slightly. I pressed forward slightly, and our chests and cocks met and we both growled.

His hands reached my arse and pulled our hips closer together. His hands dug into the flesh of my arse and I growled at him baring my fangs.

“You're playing with fire, too close and you'll get burned.” I said baring my fangs my top lip curling back.

“That's exactly what I want to do.... play.” he said his fingers lightly scratching again, he was asking for it.

“If he wants to play….” I thought and lowered my lips to his neck and bit into his flesh, at that he screamed.

One of his hands moved up to grip the back of my head, holding me to him. His blood was intoxicating, so much strength, so much power. And all of it contained within such a frail body.

As much as I would have wanted to feed for a long time, I knew I had to stop.

I pulled back and looked down at Oscars eyes, glazed with pleasure.

“Bite me.” I said noticing that my bite marks on Oscar had already healed. A benefit of his Fae nature.

His teeth lightly skimmed up my neck before they broke through my skin somewhat messily and my blood was free to flow into him. I shuddered, and a groan escaped my lips and he began to take small pulls at my throat. I was still on top of him and my cock pulsed with need as I lay atop him.

I moved my hand between us and took hold of both of our cocks in one hand. My fingers couldn't reach fully around but my hand was met by Oscars, completing the circle. Our hands moved in unison, each stroke driving us higher and higher. Each tug of blood from my body adding to my pleasure. I was growling out loud, my mind reverting to its base instincts.

Oscars hips began to thrust upwards, so I knew he was getting close to cumming, Oscars second hand dug into the flesh at my hip. That was what drove me over the edge. I pulled my head back and roared as pleasure race through my body. My cock pulsed as my cum shot over Oscar's chest and I felt him groan against my neck. His cock jerked slightly, and his cock shot its load over him and he pulled away from my neck, my blood staining his lips. I rolled off him onto the bed and panted heavily.

“I could get used to that.” Oscar said his chest heaving.

“You and me both.” I said grinning slightly.

“Come here.” Oscar said his right hand running lightly up my thigh.

I rolled onto my side and shifted slightly towards him. I rested my head on his chest and sighed satisfied. I knew I didn't have long to stay here, this respite from my duties could not last. But for now, I could relax.

Oscars shifted onto his side so that he was facing me and pulled me into a lying down hug. Our chests pressed against each other and I sighed at his warmth. One of his hands moved round and cupped the back of my head, lightly stroking my hair.

My tanned skin contrasted with his paleness, accentuating every curve, every dip and every bulge on Oscars body. I smiled and sighed relaxing in his arms.

“We don't have long in here do we?” Oscar asked.

I shook my head in a small motion. My head rested just below Oscars chin and his arms lightly stroked up my spine.

“Bardaí titim.” Oscar said snapping his fingers.

“Well I suppose we have to move now.” I said grimacing slightly.

“We always have later.” he said kissing the top of my head.

“I suppose.” I said regretfully disentangling myself from Oscar's arms.

I moved across the room in a fraction of a second opening the door to the en-suite bathroom and turning on the shower. I returned to Oscar on the bed around some two seconds after I had left.

“Come on, we need to shower.” I said taking a hold of his hand behind me.

I tugged him across the room and into the shower behind me. We both needed to wash the blood off our bodies and Oscar also had our cum still staining his chest. I tugged him in behind me and he slipped slightly on the wet floor, but I caught him.

I steadied him, and he grinned down at me. I stepped away and under the stream of water from the shower head. The water flowed over my head and ran in little streams down my back. I sighed at the warm temperature of the water. I ran a hand up through my hair and felt Oscar step up behind me.

His arms lightly rested on my hips and his lips lightly pressed against my shoulder and I smiled. I twisted in his arms and wrapped my own around his neck. I stepped backwards pressing my back against the wall and Oscar now stood beneath the shower head. The water fell through his hair and slid down his chest.

Around ten minutes later I stepped out of the shower, stretching my arms above my head. I moved into the bed room and returned in a fraction of a second with two sets of clothes and two towels. Oscar stepped out of the shower a moment later, his ginger hair matted down the sides of his face.

I picked up a towel and threw it to him. He caught it and began to pat down his body. I picked up a towel and quickly dried my hair, running my fingers through it quickly. I then proceeded to dry my legs and work my way up my body.

I did however spare glances over at Oscar as I did so. I pulled on a pair of red boxers and a pair of blue jeans. I checked the watch on my wrist and groaned. I had around ten minutes until I was needed in the throne room. I quickly pulled on a tight white t-shirt and turned to face Oscar. He had just pulled up a pair of briefs and had turned towards me.

“You need to go.” Oscar said grimacing slightly.

I nodded giving him a small grin.

“Come here.” I said, my voice level.

He stepped forward, only in briefs and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I pulled his face down slightly and leaned up to press my lips against his. His lips moulded themselves to mine and I tapped my tongue against his lips seeking entrance. He opened to me and his tongue tentatively met mine. My fangs dropped and lightly scraped his tongue, adding blood to the kiss. He didn't seem to mind, and I certainly didn't.

The kiss soon became hungry Oscar pressing my back against the sink my body arched into his. His hands moved to my arse and lifted me up, placing me on the counter his body between my thighs. I locked my legs around his hips and pulled his body closer to mine. I pulled back and growled at him the small amounts of blood on my tongue sweet tasting.

“Are you sure you have to go?” Oscar said teasingly.

“Sometimes I hate being a Monarch, but at other times it is very useful.” I said my tongue running along his lower lip.

“Well is it ok if I go exploring?” Oscar asked.

I tensed ever so slightly but forced myself to relax. Oscar would naturally want to explore the mansion. And with my guards and his powers he should be in no danger.

“Of course, but just try to stay out of trouble.” I said winking at him

I had work to do, and as much as it pained me to leave I knew I had to. As much as I would have loved to have Oscar drag me back to the bed I knew I had to leave. Oscar moved away, and I jumped down off the counter and grinned at him. I placed a hand behind his head and pulled his lips oh so gently to mine.

“I'll be back in a few hours.” I said smiling hopefully at him.

He nodded and grinned at me before I left him in the bathroom. I stepped out of my bedroom and into the hall. My guards stood at the very end of the corridor and I nodded to them before I moved with extreme speed towards the throne room. I was there and seated on my throne in the time it took a human to blink. Now to fulfil the duties of my kingdom I thought, grimacing slightly.

Oscar's P.O.V

*****

When I was alone in the room I sighed that Zak was gone. I raised a hand a clenched my fist, allowing my power to flow into my clenched fist. My hand glowed a white light that filled the room. At the moment I needed to let off some steam, I needed to do something active. I needed to run, I needed to fight, I needed to use my powers. I felt so full so full of energy, so full of life and at the moment I needed to burn some of it.

The sun outside was not yet set, and it looked around 4 in the afternoon. I dressed quickly and slipped on some shoes I found inside the wardrobe and stepped out of the bedroom. The guards flanked the doors on either side. They were pure slabs of muscle obviously trained to protect Zak with their lives. I was surprised they were still here.

I groaned when I realised they were here to protect me. I walked past them and headed in the direction of what I thought was the front entrance. I moved quickly and headed down the large flight of stairs near the throne room and towards the large double doors, I blinked and they swung open.

It seemed all I needed to use my powers was intent, it was fun. I felt powerful, for once I felt in control. I stepped out into the late day sun and winced slightly. The sun stung my eyes, I hadn't realised just how sensitive they now were.

We were in the middle of no-where, thankfully. I saw a few people walking around the grounds but I just assumed they were guards. My eyes scanned over the grounds before me, it was huge. I supposed with the amount of power and money Zak had this was not surprising. The whole area was covered with grass, with black stone paths meandering through them. I walked out into the middle of the grounds and away from the house. Which I now realised was massive. The terrain was mainly flat land but a few hills sprung up here and there.

For some reason this area made me extremely happy. It was lush and verdant even in winter. The late day sun shone and I smiled lightly. I sat down in the grass and ran my hands through it smiling slightly. I felt home, I felt safe, I was in nature. The wind picked up slightly and I inhaled the scent of the area. Sweet but the hints of bitterness within it stung my nose. Pollution my mind provided.

I ran my hands through the grass around me, my lips speaking words absently and my magic flowed out through my hands and into the ground. A circle around two metres in diameter made of light began to form around me. It glowed dully as it hovered above the ground, apparently random symbols floated around the circle.

I muttered absentmindedly and the circle formed

“Imréitigh aer, lig an talamh a athnuachan, bláthanna ag fás agus blossom milis.”

I hummed lightly between the words, feeling my power flow out of me and into the earth

“Saol an nádúir fás timpeall orm, sreabhadh as dom agus an áit seo a athnuachan mar sí ordú liom é.”

I hummed quietly as i finished and smiled as i lay back against the grass. The earth warmed beneath me, the sun grew brighter and the air grew sweeter. All traces of pollutants vanishing. I turned my head and looked at the circle of light surrounding me. It lowered itself to the ground and a perfect circle of blue flowers grew around me.

As much as that had felt good, to help the earth around me by casting a spell to cleanse it. But i still felt restless I wanted to fight, I needed a challenge. Now I wished Vanessa were here. I would kick her arse any day. I lifted a hand up and aimed it at the sky

“Báisteach.” I said and a bolt of something that glowed like starlight shot out from my palm, it flew quickly upwards before exploding in a burst of light.

The sky immediately darkened as thick black clouds spread out from the point where the ball had exploded. I smiled as the thunder clapped and the sky for miles around immediately darkened. I had always loved the rain, and I especially enjoyed thunder storms. The lightning struck a few miles away, illuminating the sky. I smiled as the rain fell down and struck me.

I wondered slightly what it would feel like for the lightning to strike me. I knew so far that I was a part of nature, and as such nature wouldn't harm me. I saw some of the guards on the property running towards me and I smiled jumping to my feet.

They weren't vampires, I could sense that much. They were humans, that immediately caught my attention. Humans shouldn't be here. I sensed something was wrong and crouched low as they charged towards me. There were three of them and as they got closer I could understand why it was that I had believed that they were guards. They wore black much like the other guards on the property but I however could tell that they were human even at this distance.

If they tried to take me they would fail. It was obvious that they were here for me. As far as I knew from Zak there were very few Fae on this plane any more. That would make me a commodity, I was powerful and as such an adversary to them.

The nearest human was around ten metres away and I swept around extending my hands as I did so.

“Fuar agus oighear agus sneachta gheimhridh.” I said my power flowing out through my hands.

The human froze on the spot, quite literally, as ice and snow flew from my fingertips.

The rain continued to fall around me yet the other humans continued to advance towards me. I knew that all I had to do was to keep them occupied until Zak realised something was wrong.

“Zak!” I shouted knowing that he would hear me.

I knew that the humans had to be here for some reason. Either they were eliminating me to stop me from interfering or they were here for.........

“No!!!” I shouted, they were here for Zak.

Rage boiled in my gut at the thought of them taking him from me. He was mine I shouted inside my head. My fingers curled and I turned to glare at the two humans charging towards me. I raised my hands and noticed that my nails were now black and talon-like, extending from the tips of my fingers.

I raised one hand above my head and called out at the sky.

“Boltai.” I said and the lightning above my head struck me. I should have been dead, should have been. The lightning instead raced through me heightening each sensation. I was powerful, I was a god for the moment. And the two humans knew it. They charged and I struck out with my hand and the lightning shot from my talon-like hands and struck the first human in the chest. The second charged now within six feet of me.

He was big and burly, but I didn't care, I couldn't care. I was behind him faster than he could move, I swiftly jammed my elbow into the small of the back with force and he crumpled. He fell to a knee and I spun slamming my knee into the side of his head and he crashed to the floor. I roared at the sky and red tinged my vision, I felt a surge of anger at these humans, they wanted Zak, they wanted what was mine.

They were the distraction, I turned and ran, surprising even myself by the speed at which I ran, I was across the grounds and I sprinted into the main house, the doors slamming open with a wave of my hand. I sprinted in, my eyes widening at the sight of the human bodies on the floor. There were four of them sprawled out on the floor. Their throats had been torn open and their blood spread sickeningly across the floor.

The humans were unprepared, the fact that the council had been called today had meant that there were more vampires than average in the mansion I assumed. At the moment however my thoughts were solely focused on one thing. Finding Zak. I felt fear in the pit of my stomach at the thought of him being hurt. I moved quickly through the mansion, seeing the stream of human bodies sprawled at intervals.

I saw a lone vampire at the end of the hall, Joshua, The same one who had interrupted me and Zak earlier. His clothes were stained with blood and I saw that his fangs were descended, his eyes darted swiftly up to me and he smiled grimly. The blood caked around his lips didn't help my resolve.

A single thought swarmed inside my mind.

“Find Zak.”

I moved quickly towards Joshua and asked as I moved down the hallway.

“Where is Zak?” I asked as my eyes dragged over him.

“He is in the throne room, dealing with the last group of humans there.” Joshua said, his hungry eyes raking over me.

“How many were there?” I asked as we moved quickly through the house towards the din of the fighting.

“At least 50 by our count.” Joshua said quietly.

As we neared the staircase a human charged towards us, some form of sword in his hands. I thrust my hand forward and the blade stopped mid swing. I twisted my hand and the blade bent before I flung it out of his hands. I squared my stance and raised both hands, my fingers curling towards my palms. The man jerked and twitched and slowly rose up of the ground with the motion of my hands.

I slammed my hands to the left and he smashed against the nearest wall unconscious.

We were at the top of the staircase and I saw a group of 10 humans fighting 3 vampires. The vampires may be stronger and faster but they were outnumbered. Each vampire showed wounds that did not seem to be healing despite their abilities. One of them turned and I gasped. Zak.

The humans turned to me and Joshua. I snarled under my breath before charging head first down the staircase towards them, I was fast, faster than they had anticipated. I swung out a hand and a human crumpled, his leg snapping as my power shattered the bone. I pushed the disgust out of my head for the moment and focused on one thing. Keeping Zak safe. Protecting him from them, no matter the cost.

I slammed my fist to the side of a woman’s head and she went down, her helmet crumpling like paper, and her head hitting the carpet leaving a streaming pool of blood behind. Zak would be safe, I spun gracefully and reached out with my powers and slammed a couple of humans into the wall for good measure. Five now remained which meant we were now equal to the number of humans.

Zak's eyes met mine and I smiled briefly before I saw the knife plunge into his chest with a sickening slicing sound. His smile faded and his eyes glazed over as he fell forwards. White hot fury exploded inside me as I saw him fall. I screeched in fury and felt my power explode out of me. My gaze turned to the humans, sending out a wave that sent everyone, vampires and humans alike were sent flying. All of them, except Zak. He was lying face down on the floor, the tip of knife extending out of his back, a small pool of blood now forming beneath his prostrate form.

I moved towards him falling to my knees next to him, my eyes swept up and saw that all those around me were unconscious or groaning on the floor. I turned Zak over and rested his head lightly on my lap. He was fading fast and I had no idea if he would survive or not, I prayed silently in my head he would pull through. I lightly stroked his hair my rage still rolling through me.

“A bheith imithe.” I said my hand waving around me.

Everyone in the room faded as my spell transported them out onto the lawn outside. A group of four humans however decided they wanted to charge into the room at that point, my eyes shot upward glared up at them and I growled lightly under my breath. They raised their guns, levelling them at me and, more importantly at Zak. That was a very bad move, at the moment I was in full defensive mode. No-one would touch Zak, he was mine and mine alone.

“Cosaint.” I said feeling my power drop by a minuscule fraction as the spell took effect.

“Shoot me then, fuck you.” I said glaring at them, my body leaning protectively over Zak. The lead human pulled the trigger on his gun. The hammer clicked, the gun fired, the bullet stopped a foot away from me falling to the floor with a metallic clang. The four humans however fired repeatedly at me, the bullets stopping and clanging to the floor, like a twisted shower around me.

“Codladh anois, daoine.” I said thrusting my free hand towards them, they collapsed to the floor asleep. If I had wanted to I could have burned them to cinders. In my current frame of mind I was solely focused on protecting Zak.

His eyes flickered slightly and he looked up at me. The knife in his chest moved as his chest heaved slightly. I hugged him tightly and spoke quickly, leaning down towards his lips.

“What should I do Zak?” I asked my eyes meeting his.

“P-pull he knife out, I will heal in a few hours.” he stuttered, as blood sprayed from his open mouth.

“Why aren't the rest of your wounds healing?” I said my fingers tracing the side of his face.

“The daggers are coated in something, I c-can't think.” he said as his eyes began to drift closed.

"No, Zak, don't go to sleep, please" I said feeling him grow limp in my arms.

I raised one of my hands over his chest and slowly willed the dagger to rise. Slowly and effortlessly is slid from his chest. Zak was unconscious, but he looked dead. I stood, slowly lowering Zak's head to the floor before I ran a hand over his face.

“Iompar air.” I said focusing on his room as the target location, white smoke forming around him and curling tightly around his frame. It obscured him from view before the smoke dissipated, taking him with it.

As soon as he was gone my vision shifted. The edges of my sight took on a reddish tint as I gazed at the humans around me. My hands formed a clawed shape and they lifted from the ground to hang limply three feet off the floor. I moved through the building with all of the incapacitated humans following the same example of those behind me. All of them raising to float behind me as I moved from the mansion and out onto the grounds.

The other vampires of the mansion had all congregated on the outer lawn, all turned to look and stare as I moved out of the mansion followed by my floating entourage. At least thirty strong, they hung limp in the air.

“These humans came here to abduct your King. They have been stopped, for now, but he is injured and is now under my care.” I said addressing the vampires remaining on the grounds, noticing a murmur running through the assembled crowd.

“What shall we do with these humans” a short vampire asked, her spiked red hair glistening slightly, soaked in blood.

“I don't care, kill them, torture them, drain them or release them you decide.” I said cutting off the flow to my magic and allowing the humans to drop to the ground.

The day crawled by as the vampires rounded up the humans and took them all to the depths beneath the mansion, and into the cells there. It seems the humans had managed to overwhelm the outer guards and had swarmed over the grounds taking many of the vampires on the grounds by surprise. So far it seemed we had only lost a total of four vampires during their attack, with many others injured in ways similar to Zak.

All my energy was currently focused on the protection spell I had raised around Zak's quarters. My instincts seemed to be solely focused on his protection. He had not even twitched since I had laid him onto the bed, the wound on his chest slowly sealing itself. I was perched on Zak's throne throughout the course of the next few hours my mind drumming over my next move.

The other vampires inside the mansion had secured the humans in the dungeons beneath the mansion. I tried not to be surprised by the fact they actually had a dungeon beneath the house. Although based on what some of the residents had told me, the dungeons weren't only to keep prisoners. It seemed as if some vampires were into the slightly darker aspects of sex and used the dungeons as their play rooms.

I entered into the dungeons, and as my feet echoed down the old stone passage I heard the mutters of people below. The hallway in which I was now situated was a long stone passageway with cells on either side each of which held a single human. At each end of the corridor stood two guards, and based on what I could smell of them, they were vampires.

One of them turned to me as I passed and said,

“If you wish to interrogate one of them we will open the cell, the detainment room is located at the end of this corridor.”

“Thank you.” I said

“But I can open the cell on my own.” I said moving down the corridor towards the cell at the end.

I stood at the end of the hallway and motioned for the guards to leave and once they were gone I began to speak to the captured humans.

“Which of you is the most senior?” I asked my eyes scanning through the bars of each cell on either side of the walls.

No answer came. The humans were staring at me with a combination of contempt and fear. I raised my hand and opened my palm and allowed my power to flow into my hand. Around two inches above my palm a ball of golden fire formed, I began to pace down the corridor as I threw the golden orb from hand to hand.

“I have the power to make each of you suffer, either one at a time or to cause you all to suffer at once.” I said pacing further down the corridor.

Silence followed. Well, if they wished to act tough, I could fix that. I turned to a cell containing a lone human, their head slumped against the wall. I flicked my wrist and the orb swung gracefully through the air, slamming into his thigh. The orb seared through flesh, cauterising the flesh as it burned its way through to the bone. I barely noticed the screams, however they seemed to have a greater impact on the humans clustered in the surrounding cells.

“Alright, stop! I am the most senior one here.” came a voice from down the hallway, I paced towards the voice and with a wave of my hand the door to his cell swung open and he stepped into the corridor.

“And I am the most powerful being here.” I said smiling cruelly at him, raising my hand and calling forth another ball of golden fire, which hovered a few inches above my palm.

“I am not afraid of a Warlock, I have seen more of your kind than I would like to, and killed just as many.” The human said a light smile on his lips.

“I am no Warlock, but I will let that slide, you attacked someone I care about here and for that I want to know why.” I said, moving closer till I was barely a metre away from him, closing my fist the ball of flame was absorbed back into my hands.

“I am not going to say anything to you.” he said before he surged forward his fist raised and swinging it angrily towards my face. The guards at the end of the corridor surged forward swiftly. However my reflexes were far faster than that of a human and my own hand reached up and caught his fist before the guards reached me. The speed of my response seemed to take him off guard and he swung his other first towards me, and I ducked quickly still gripping his fist, which I twisted as I pulled his arm up behind his back before my foot swept at his legs before he had a chance to react.

He glared up at me from the floor, before he slowly stood up, squaring his shoulders to me. I snapped my fingers and the human raised half a foot of the floor and I motioned my arm and he floated towards the detainment room at the end of the corridor, the guards having returned to their posts. The human struggled futilely in the air as he was moved towards the end of the hall. Once inside I lowered him into the chair there and fastened the restraints with a twisting motion of my hand, holding him secure in the chair.

“You don't have the balls to kill me Warlock.” He said cocking an eyebrow at me.

“I have more balls than any of you had when attacking here. I am no Warlock, I am Fae, and you attacked my boyfriend.” I said electricity crackling at my fingers as I flexed them.

As soon as I mentioned I was a Fae his face dropped.

“Now you are going to tell me why you attacked here.” I said clenching and opening my fist, arcs of electricity playing between my fingertips.

“I will tell you nothing.” He said again, sounding less sure of himself now however.

I opened my hand and small bolts of electricity flowed out from my fingertips and struck the hunter, arcing between his extremities which thrashed against the restraints . He screamed as each bolt struck him, however I stopped after only a short time, noticing the wisps of smoke rising from around him. Giving him a short respite I repeated my questions to no avail, and so, the torture continued.

Minutes ticked by, shock after shock striking him. My mind had blurred over, time seemed to pass by quickly as I questioned the hunter, slowly his will broke, eroded as his muscles spasms continued, blood vessels bursting on his skin.

“No more.” he said after another volley of electricity had struck him.

I was glad that he had finally broke, I had no idea how much longer my stomach could have held out. It had twisted into knots as each bolt had struck him, but my will to protect Zak had pressed me to continue.

“Why did you attack the mansion?” I said sitting down in the chair opposite him.

“We were aiming to capture the King of this territory, Zachariah, and to imprison him.” The hunter said.

“Why did you want to imprison him?” I said crooking my index finger, telekinetically causing him to raise his head.

“With the King of this territory missing, it would create a power vacuum we hoped would destabilise this area.” He said his head lolling to one side, one side of his face in spasms.

I raised my hand and spread out my hands and fingers, causing the hunters head to be pulled upright and held in place. I moved my other hand towards his face and allowed my thumb to press again his forehead, I allowed my power to flow through my thumb as my mind composed a spell, fitting itself to my purposes.

“Chuirtear srian léi ar a intinn, a chuid smaointe séala amach, bain chuid eolais de dom, a chuid eolais ar na óltóirí fola, agus an osnádúrtha, go dtí a bhás” I said slowly, my power reaching into his mind. The spell was designed to shield his mind of the knowledge of the supernatural, the vampires and of me. It should last until the moment before his death, at which point the spell would abandon him.

I did ensure that I placed another protection into the enchantment, should the effect ever be broken by anyone other than me, it would cook his brain till all that was left was soup. Just in case anyone ever came snooping around after my work and decided to try to lift the enchantment.

I turned from the room and jerked a hand to the guards standing at the end of the corridor, and they surged forward.

“He remembers nothing of our world, clean him, then dump him somewhere. The others I will deal with in time.”

Now I had another duty to tend to. My mind had been mulling over my options regarding Zak. His coven needed him, and couldn’t afford to wait for him to heal.

I headed up to his room, still cordoned off behind my protections. As I approached they parted around me and I strode into the room. The smell of sex still lingered in the air, and I looked over at the unmoving corpse on the bed and felt my heart shudder.

Zak wasn’t breathing, wasn’t moving, the wound on his chest still gaping despite the hours that had passed. The wound had barely begun to heal, but my eyes could pick out the subtle movement at the edges of the wound. I perched myself on the bed next to him, reaching out to run a hand down the side of his face.

I placed a hand over his chest, thinking back to one of the powers that Zak had referred to; Healing. I had no idea how such a power would interact with a vampire, but right about now hope was all that I had. I called forth the power within me, focusing on the light that seemed brimming up inside me. My hands began to glow, that same golden light that could cause so much harm, I now called upon to do good. I pressed my hands over the wound in Zak’s chest, silently praying for it to flow out of me and into him.

Thankfully my magic seemed quite intuitive, it sensed my intentions and seemed willing to cooperate. I felt the magic flowing out of me, a slow and steady stream sliding into Zak. I was met with resistance, the energy seemed to be feeding back to me, but it was now cold, and cloying, so this was the energy of the vampire. I pushed through the resistance, willing it to continue flowing into him, focusing on sealing the wound. A bitter taste slipped over my tongue, carried in the energy from Zak, likely the poison that had coated the blade. It seemed to be resisting me, like it was fighting back against my efforts, it took only a few minutes of tense concentration before I felt it clear from his system.

Zak took a sharp and shuddering breath, and I saw a small trickle of blood spring from his lips as his chest heaved. The wound beneath my fingertips sealed swiftly and I moved forward and clutched him to me.

“Oh” was all I managed as I felt two sharp fangs dig into my throat and a feral growl sounded in my ears. One hand came up to my jaw, jerking my head to the side further exposing my throat. His fangs retreated from my neck, before plunging back into me further tearing as the skin of my throat.

I pressed a hand against his chest trying to push him away from me, my strength at least gave him pause, and his frantic sucking at my throat seemed to slow.

“Zak…..please” I said now noticing an ebb in my strength after Zak’s drinking from me.

His lips broke away from my throat and his eyes met mine, still slightly clouded from his fervent feeding. That was the last thing I saw before I slipped under the heavy blanket of unconsciousness, my vision blurring as Zak’s perfect face lost focus before slipping away from me.

To be continued......
