“You now have enough clothes to start a wardrobe. You’re going to look amazing. Your friends are going to love it. By the way, I can’t believe I never asked. Have you come up with a new name?”

“Yes! Oh my god! I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone! Calista!”

“Beautiful! I love it. I’m going to call you that from now on. Soon, you will no longer be Lucas, so I think it’s time to get used to the name that is the real you, Calista.”

Lucas cried once more. It was the first time he’d said anything about his new name. It was the first time anyone had called him by that name. They stopped walking and Quinn turned to look at Lucas. She ran her hand through his hair and caressed his neck. She disarmed the crying boy with her smile.

“Calista, you are finally going to be the real you. However that turns out, you’re finally on the right path. You are beautiful. Things seem like they are going well for you finally. You deserve this. You are amazing and you should have all of the love and good feelings.”

She kissed Lucas gently on the lips. They locked into a stare for a few moments and Lucas leaned in and kissed Quinn some more, this time a more passionate kiss. Lucas had no idea what he was doing at this point, but he knew he wanted to spend more time with her. Quinn seemed to have the same thing on her mind.

“Would you like to come back to my apartment? We could have some wine. We can do our nails and a little girl talk. You could put on a little fashion show for me and my roommate Alex. She will love you.”

“I would really love that.”

“Wow. Just fucking wow. That was unreal,” and exhausted Kevin said. 

“I’m happy. You’ve got the tightest ass I’ve ever fucked.”

“Well...you are right. I am a virgin. All I’ve ever done is get my dick sucked.”

“Seriously dude?!”

“Seriously.”

“You are fuckng hot as hell! How could you be a virgin? Fuck man.”

“It’s possible. Sooooo, I don’t think I can handle that a second time. I think I’m going to need a month to recover. I’d really like it if we could just lay here and cuddle all night. Maybe I can tell you my story.”

“Dude. You were there for me, so I’m here for you. It is too bad you’re leaving. I think it would be cool to have you as a friend.”

“I know. It sucks. We can keep in touch.”

Kevin and Blaze spent the next several hours cuddling and talking. Blaze really enjoyed Kevin and felt like he had met someone special. That good feeling was quickly replaced by the same emptiness he had become used to since, just like everyone else in his life, Kevin was leaving him for good. 

When morning came, Blaze quietly got out of bed and snuck out. He didn’t want a sad goodbye with Kevin. Even though he knew Kevin would be disappointed, he just didn’t want to go through it. He began the walk back to the hotel. It was pretty early on a Sunday morning and the city was pretty quiet. He walked past the park where the tent was that he’d called home for so long. He wondered if he’d be returning to it, if he was just going to go back to his homeless life after this brief break.

He continued his walk back to the hotel. His emotions hadn’t changed any since yesterday. After fighting it for so long, he really had sunk into a deep depression. It only felt worse as he started to think his only friends in the world, the people he called family, were also going to leave him. 

As he turned the corner onto I Street, he ran into Lucas.

“Where have you been?” he asked Lucas.

“Um, well, uh, I, ummm, where were you?!” Lucas didn’t know how to explain where he’d been. He was carrying several bags from his shopping trip, had the remnants of makeup on his face and looked like he hadn’t slept.

“Someone is up to something. For once, I think you have a story to tell. Let’s go get breakfast.”

Blaze grabbed a couple of the bags from Lucas and put his arm around him as they walked toward a coffee shop. 

Lucas kissed Blaze on the head and wrapped his arm around him. 

“I have so much to tell you, Blaze. So much.”
