The last of the afternoon sun stretched their shadows long across the dock, three dark fingers pointing toward the pines. Walter's knee cracked as he stood up from untying his shoe. The same left knee, same sound, every time since he turned sixty.

"You hear that?" Jim chuckled, slapping his own thigh. "Like a damn walnut in a vise." He waded deeper into the lake, the water swallowing his calves, then his thighs, the silver hairs on his legs swirling in the shallows.

The water hit Jim’s balls first. He always waded in fastest, no hesitation, and his sharp inhale carried across the still surface of the lake. Walter followed, slower, hissing through his teeth as the chill climbed up his thighs. Marty, ever the procrastinator, lingered on the dock until they both turned and grinned at him, their wrinkled scrotums tightening in the cold.

"Fuck, it's like dipping into a vodka tonic," Marty muttered, finally stepping off the weathered wood. His cock, soft and swaying, retreated upward as if trying to escape the water. Jim barked a laugh and splashed him, droplets catching the low sun like scattered coins.

Jim's laughter bounced across the water as he dog-paddled backward, his pecs breaking the surface like two weathered buoys. "Cold water makes my nuts shrivel," he announced, as if reporting scientific findings. Walter snorted, rolling onto his back to float. His sparse chest hair glistened, his nipples two tight buds against the breeze.

Marty, still adjusting to the shock of the water, swam a slow breaststroke toward them. His arms carved through the lake with the precision of a man who'd spent summers in this same spot for forty years. "You say that every time," he called to Jim, pausing to tread water. "Like it's some grand revelation."

Jim dunked his head under and came up spluttering, his silver crew cut plastered to his scalp. "And yet," he said, shaking water from his ears, "every time, it's still true." He pinched the loose skin of his scrotum between two fingers and held it up like a badge of honor. Walter groaned and kicked a lazy splash in his direction.

They drifted into a loose triangle, the way they always did. Close enough to talk, far enough to avoid accidental kicks. The lake bed dropped away beneath them, the deep water tugging at their legs. Marty tilted his head back, letting the silence stretch until it was just the lap of waves against their shoulders and the distant cry of a loon.

The dock groaned under their weight as they climbed out, water sluicing off their bodies in glistening sheets. Jim went first, always first, his bare feet leaving damp prints on the sun-warmed wood. He grabbed his towel from the railing. Old and threadbare, the same Detroit Lions towel he'd brought every summer since '92 and draped it around his neck like a prize fighter. His cock, still tight from the cold, began its slow descent back to its usual, unimpressive hang.

Walter followed, his movements deliberate, like a man calibrating each muscle. He shook his head once like a dog's motion sending droplets flying. Marty caught a few in the face and wiped them away with a chuckle. "Shit, Walter, warn a guy." Walter just grinned, rubbing the towel over his chest, the gray curls there flattening under the rough fabric. His dick, pink and softened by the water, swayed as he bent to pick up his flip-flops.

Marty was last, always last, lingering in the shallows for one more moment before hauling himself up. His towel was the newest of the three—a gift from his daughter, embroidered with "World's Okayest Dad.” He scrubbed  at his salt-and-pepper beard before slinging it over his shoulders. The air was warm now, the late sun pressing into their skin, and he sighed as his body remembered itself: the gentle swell of his belly, the familiar weight of his balls, the way his cock settled against his thigh like it was just another part of him. Because it was.

Jim stretched, arms overhead, his biceps still firm despite the years. "Fuck, that's better than any spa," he declared, rolling his shoulders. A bead of water traced the curve of his spine before disappearing into the crack of his hairy ass. Walter hummed in agreement, tipping his face toward the sun. His dick, now fully relaxed, nestled against his leg, unremarkable and unbothered.

Walter reached for Jim first as he always did, like clockwork. His rough palm sliding along the other man’s shaft with the casual familiarity of someone adjusting a tie. Jim’s cock was already half-hard from the swim, the cold water and warm friction leaving it pliant in Walter’s grip. He gave it three efficient tugs, thumb swiping over the tip just to hear Jim’s quiet grunt, then released him without ceremony.

Jim turned to Marty next, his fingers still damp from the lake. Marty’s dick was the shortest of the three, nestled in a thatch of gray curls, and Jim handled it with the same brisk care he’d use to shake a kink out of a garden hose. Two pumps, a twist at the head, and Marty exhaled through his nose, his hips giving an absent little thrust into the touch before Jim let go.

Marty’s turn. He stepped toward Walter, who was already tilting his hips forward in anticipation. Walter’s cock was thicker where the others were leaner, and Marty palmed it with a familiarity that bordered on ritual. He squeezed once, twice, his thumb catching the ridge just beneath the head in the way Walter liked, and then dropped his hand. Walter nodded, barely a tilt of his chin, and that was that.

No words. None needed. This was the part of the afternoon where the lake water still dripped from their thighs and the towels hung forgotten over the dock railing. Where the sun baked their shoulders and the silence between them was as comfortable as the calluses on their hands. Where the act itself wasn’t about pleasure so much as acknowledgment. Of a silent *you’re here, I’m here, we’re still doing this* etched into the simplicity of touch.

Jim went first, because Jim always went first. He faced the water with his feet planted wide, his shoulders squared like a man about to chop wood. His cock, still flushed from Walter’s touch, jutted out over the dock’s edge. He didn’t hurry. Didn’t stroke himself with any urgency. Just gripped the base with one hand and let the other rest on his hip, waiting for the familiar pressure to build. A breeze ruffled the hair on his thighs. Somewhere behind them, a fish broke the surface with a wet slap.

Then “bloop.” A single thick rope arced out and vanished into the lake with a sound like a fat raindrop. Jim exhaled through his nose, his abdomen tightening. Bloop. Another. Smaller this time. He gave himself a half-hearted shake, flicking the last droplet off his tip. "Still got it," he murmured, mostly to himself, and stepped aside.

Walter took his place without a word, his stance steadier than his knees suggested he should be. He spat into his palm, slicked himself twice, and then let his hand fall away. His release came quicker as “bloop bloop,” two in quick succession, the second just a hair’s breadth from the first. The lake swallowed them without ceremony. Walter wiped his palm on his thigh and grinned. "Like throwing pennies in a well," he said, "except nobody’s making wishes."

Marty hesitated, just for a second. Not out of reluctance, but habit, the same pause he took before diving into a cold pool, or answering a phone call from his ex-wife. Then he stepped up, his toes curling over the dock’s edge. His cock, the shortest but stubbornly proud, twitched in anticipation. “Bloop.” A modest offering. “Bloop Bloop.” Two more, weaker, the last barely clearing the wood before plopping into the shallows below. He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Guess I’m not the fountain I used to be."

Their towels, damp and smelling faintly of lake water and decades of summer sun, slapped against their thighs as they walked barefoot across the gravel path to the cars. Jim’s flip-flops made a rhythmic “thwack-thwack” against his heels, the sound as familiar as his own breathing. Walter paused to shake a pebble from between his toes. It’s always the same damn pebble, always the left foot, he thought. Tossing his towel into the backseat of his ancient Ford pickup. The vinyl seat cracked under his weight when he sat, the sound like a shotgun in the quiet evening air.

Marty was last, as usual, lingering to wring out his towel one last time before folding it neatly. His daughter’s embroidery facing up and placing it on the passenger seat. He caught Jim’s eye through the windshield and grinned, the kind of grin that said “we’re still getting away with it.” Jim winked back, his fingers drumming the steering wheel in a lazy rhythm.

The cars idled for a moment, headlights cutting through the gathering dusk, before Walter rolled down his window and leaned out. "Same time next week?" he called, his voice carrying over the hum of engines. Jim and Marty nodded, their smiles easy, their faces softened by the water and the weightlessness of the afternoon. Then, because they always did, they stepped out of their cars one last time. Their bare feet on warm gravel, shorts riding low on their hips and met in the middle of the path.

Their hug was a tangle of damp skin and rough laughter, the kind that started with a clap on the back and dissolved into something softer. Walter's hands, still cool from the lake, slid around Jim's waist as Jim's fingers dug into the meat of Walter's shoulders. Their chests pressed together. Walter's thicker, Jim's leaner. And for a moment it was just the solid heat of each other, the way Jim's heartbeat thudded against Walter's ribs like a second pulse.

Marty watched them with a smile that wrinkled the corners of his eyes, his arms crossed loosely over his own chest. When Walter turned to him, still holding Jim's wrist, Marty didn't hesitate as he stepped into the circle of Walter's arms like stepping into a well-worn pair of boots. His nose bumped Walter's collarbone, inhaling the scent of lake water and sun-warmed skin.
