Finding the Future
Church was in Vitrum for ten days. By the time he got home, I was ready to maul him like a rabid animal. He wasn’t pent up like me because he’d taken Ancil up on his offer. The two of them engaged every evening while they were gone. Church hadn’t offered any details, but he did send the occasional photo. My favorite was one he captioned ‘dessert.’ The picture was of our normally reserved butler face down on the dining room table of the hotel suite. The only article of clothing he wore was a black jockstrap. His hips were raised just enough to part the creamy white cheeks of his pert little butt. A single maraschino cherry was wedged in his peach-colored pucker.
My mouth watered at the sight. Ancil’s lean, runner’s build was very much my type before I met Church. He was extremely fit and very attractive. His butt was lean and hard. It looked like I would hurt my hand if I slapped it. As hard as his physique was, that’s as soft as his skin looked. He was completely smooth with skin so pale it was almost translucent.
I had a lusty fantasy of watching my husband eat the cherry from Ancil’s hole. I imagined Church’s massive, newly furry body as he fucked the small man in countless positions. I imagined trading places with Church. I fantasized that I was the one to eat the cherry. I wondered what his hole would taste like. I wondered what his body smelled like. I wondered if he and Church were merely having sex, or if they explored and scented each other like he and I did. In my fantasy, all three of us were locked together in a sweaty pile of musky flesh.
The final images I created for myself, just before I shot a two-day load which coated my body from the hollow of my throat to the top of my bush, was of me in Ancil’s place. I was on decadent display for Church with the cherry in my butthole. I knew exactly how he would consume his dessert and what it would feel like to be feasted upon. I played the created experience in my mind while I masturbated. I grunted and moaned when I came.
I saw myself in the mirrored ceiling over the bed. I had so much cum on me, I looked like the beginnings of a Jackson Pollack painting. I was still hard, so I played with myself slowly while I scooped the load from my chest and stomach and licked it from my fingers. I didn’t bother with a second completion. I wanted to save up a little. Church loved the taste of my cum. He especially loved when I filled his mouth with a big load. I teased my cock a little more and shivered from the sensation. “You’re going to love what I give you when you get home.”
I never thought he’d be gone as long as he was. My willpower was failing by the time he announced his return. When I drove the Vic out to the airstrip to pick him up when his plane landed, he was all smiles and goodwill. He wanted to unpack and workout. “The gym they had at the hotel was awful! I can’t wait to use my own equipment.”
I wanted to scream. I drew a rectangle in the air with my finger. That was a signal between us for him to put us in a box of his magic. We developed it when the children were young. It was useful when we wanted to have a private word without physically leaving their presence. I felt the conspicuous absence of the constant breeze of the plains and knew the box was in place. “I need you to relieve the pressure in my equipment before you do anything.”
He grinned like he won an argument. He had a completely unique self-satisfied grin he used whenever I was lusty or needy. It was that smile which stretched his face. “I figured we’d get there this evening. Don’t you want to work up a sweat first?”
I moved close to him until I could rest my head on his chest. “I haven’t had an orgasm in eight days.”
“EIGHT?”
“I wanted to save up for you. I didn’t think you’d be gone so long.”
He wrapped his strong arms around me and held me close. “I guess we’ll have to work up a sweat in the bedroom instead of the gym.”
That’s exactly what we did.

Over the next two weeks we did many things. The biggest was our trip to the capital to watch Han and Lee graduate. Church handed them the keys to the house he bought right after they received their degrees. His selection of the moment was sneaky. While they were still clutching their sheepskins, and their emotions were tangled between the achievement of earning their degrees, the fear and hope for the future, and the melancholy over the end of their college days, he admitted that he’d gone to Vitrum and ‘rented’ a house for them. In other words, he admitted he’d done exactly what he said he wouldn’t do at the precise time when the boys lacked the emotional capacity to object. It was an impressive act of emotional manipulation, and one worthy of my Uncle Ars.
I was thrilled when they didn’t object. They accepted the keys graciously. Lee even admitted that they were growing concerned about where they would live because they hadn’t had a chance to do any research. Both of them were overwhelmed by the prospect of finishing college, moving away from home, starting new jobs, and finding a place to live. They hugged their Pops and thanked him profusely for solving one of their largest problems. I was happy the gamble paid off.
Church put all of us in a box together and admitted the other reason he’d gone to Vitrum. “I put some security assets in place. They won’t intrude on your lives. You won’t even see them. Their job is to…”
Han interrupted his Pop. “I know, they look outward to watch the ruthless world. Alright, Pop. I don’t think we need your babysitters, but I’m not going to fight you over them. As long as I don’t have to deal with having a guy over each of my shoulders, I’m ok with whatever you want to do. You’d probably do it anyway.”
Lee added his two cents. “Yeah, like the guys you sent to school with us.”
Church tried to play innocent. “I NEVER…!”
Lee scanned the crowd and pointed in one direction, then another. “There’s one, and there’s another. I know there’s at least three more besides.”
Church laughed with delight. “You’re observant. I’m glad.”
Han laughed as well. His laugh was a rough bark just like Church’s. “It’s your fault we spotted them. You’re the one who wanted Uncle Bem and Ancil to teach us to be aware of our surroundings. Ancil drilled us on that. He always said, ‘look out for faces that don’t belong.’ He spoke it like a mantra. We weren’t back to school for a week when Lee spotted the first of your agents.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I wanted to. I was mad as hell when Lee told me. I was going to read you the riot act, but he talked me out it. We both knew it wouldn’t matter. Even if you promised to call them off, you’d just send new ones. I know they don’t report on us. I pulled a few stunts and made sure they saw to test their secrecy. I don’t like that you lied to us, but I know why you did.”
“I lied because I love you. I guess that’s not a good excuse, but it’s the only reason I have.”
The boys hugged their Pops and then me.
We didn’t get to spend much time with them. They had a ton of goodbyes to say and festivities to attend. We did our best to stay out of their way. The morning after, we all met for breakfast, then we put them on a plane to their futures. I cried like a baby. Church didn’t, but I think he held it in to console me. We went home and spent several quiet days by ourselves.
On Monday morning of the following week, I woke up early to what sounded like a large animal crashing around in our closet. I sat up to see what all the racket was. Church poked his head out and wished me a good morning. “I’m glad you’re awake. We’ve got to get moving. You and me and Ancil and some guards are going places. We’re going to visit everyone we know for as long as it takes to work our way through the list. We’ll stay with each one for a week or a month, or until they throw us out, then we’ll go to the next. I don’t care how long it takes. We’ve got to get out of this house for a while, and this is the only thing I could come up with to get us moving.
“I called Josephine last night and asked if she would have us. She had to check with her husband, Maritus. She spoke to him last night and messaged me back this morning. You remember that Mari is a middle school principle? He just finished the semester and is off for the summer. He said they didn’t have any plans, and they’d be thrilled to have us. He added that the kids can’t wait to have their granddads around for a while.” He clapped to urge me on. “Come on, let’s go, go, go!”
I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples. Church’s early morning energy was a marvel. I never understood how he could leap out of bed and immediately start to run and plan and do. I liked the mornings, but I preferred to ease into the day. He attacked the morning like it was an obstacle to overcome.
I opened my eyes, and he was gone again, back into the closet to haul out the luggage we’d only just put away. I called out. “LOVE!”
He poked his head back into the room and waited impatiently to find out what I wanted.
“Tell me again what we’re doing.”
He apologized. “You just woke up and I’m clapping my hands at you. I’m an ass. I want to travel. We haven’t been anywhere in a long time. We only seem to go back and forth between Epistylium where the boys were in school and the estate. I don’t think we’ve been anywhere else in years. I want to see my kids and all my friends. I want to spend time with them, but I don’t want to invite them to our cloistered world here. I want to go to them and see their worlds. We talked about needing to find purpose for our lives, or at least purpose for the next phase of our lives. Let’s go find it! Whatever it is, it’s out there. If it was here, we’d already know what it is.”
His idea sounded like a good one. The fact that he came up with it made my heart swell with joy. “I like this version of you.”
“What do you mean?”
“I like that you’re planning. I like that you want to go out and find the future rather than wait here for it to find you. I’m proud of you.”
“I’m proud of me too. I thought we’d close the house up. No one is here and I don’t really want anyone here while we’re away. We’ll give the servants the summer off, with pay of course. I also like the idea of not having a place that’s easy to come back to. We’ll stay on the road until we find our new purpose or we get sick of traveling. How’s that sound?”
I agreed with everything and jumped in with both feet. “It sounds perfect. Let’s do it.”
“Great! We’ve got that settled. Uh, so, not to change the subject, but to absolutely change the subject, do you want to morning fuck me now, or do you want to have coffee first?”
“Now.”
He bounded across the room like an excited puppy.

A few hours later we were on the airplane on our way to visit our first child and our oldest daughter, Josephine. She was named for Church’s brother, Joe. She married a lovely man and had three small children. The eldest was just approaching school age.
Jo took after my side in both appearance and temperament. She believed strongly in education and wanted her children to have the best. She recently hired a retired professor to work with her kids to give them a head start on their schooling. The professor told stories about historical events and sang songs about spelling and guided the children in all manner of educational fun. I hoped to meet him during our stay. He sounded like a very kind old gentleman.
I brought Hannah’s book with me to finish on the plane. I sat at a built-in table across from Church. He looked out the window and listened to music on his earbuds. He had been reading a medical journal but grew tired of the articles. He was excited for the first time in a while. I suspect the dryness of the journal articles couldn’t hold his attention when his mind was elsewhere.
He sang snatches of music or whistled while the world went by outside. He’d been on a Dixieland kick recently that I didn’t quite understand. Whenever I heard what he was listening to, I was treated to the sound of blistering trumpets, sarcastic trombones, and warbling clarinets. The music all sounded the same. I failed to see the attraction.
He whistled toward the window and sang in hushed tones. “Oh, when the Saints, oh, when the Saints, oh, when the Saints go marching in, well, I want to be in that number, when the saints go marching in.”
He noticed that I was observing him and grinned self-consciously. He popped his ear buds out to apologize for disturbing my reading. “Sorry, the music makes me want to sing.”
“Why Dixieland of all things?”
He shrugged. I could tell from his emotions that he had no idea what had attracted him to the ancient musical genre. “I guess because it’s fun. The horn section of Divided Light got back together for their own reunion tour, and they’ve been playing Dixieland. They don’t call it that here because no one on Solum would know what it means. I started to listen to the recordings Neb and Calidi sent and got hooked. Don’t you like it?”
It was my turn to shrug. “It’s alright. I like other types of music better.”
“Fair enough.” He played with his hands on the tabletop for a moment, then changed the subject. Before he spoke, the whisper of the plane became silence. Church had put us in a box. “You and I have only been together with Ancil once so far and that session wasn’t particularly satisfying. I think we should try again.”
I glanced toward where the object of our discussion sat on the built-in sofa that ran the whole length of the other side of the plane. He had his tablet propped on a folding table and was working away at something. His fingers flew across the keyboard as he typed. His face was set into a mask of concentration. I watched him work and thought about the only time I’d been intimate with him.
It was the day after he and Church returned from Vitrum. Church and I were lounging in our room early that morning. He was still tired from his long trip, and I was in no hurry to leave his company after missing him for ten days. I asked what Ancil was like in bed. His answer was straightforward.
“He’s a lot of fun, but he’s got some quirks. He doesn’t top, ever. In fact, he wears a jock to bed. He wouldn’t let me touch his package at all, and he got mad when I tried. Funny thing is, he’s big; like Comet big, but I never even saw him get hard. He loves to play with my ass even though he won’t fuck me. He also likes feet. His favorite is to ride face-to-face. I think you’ll have fun with him.”
The description was alright except for the jock and the foot fetish. I’d never met anyone who was into feet. I asked about that.
Church shrugged. “He massages them and licks my toes and smells them. I guess it gets him off, but like I said, he never gets hard, so it’s tough to tell. It’s kind of like the way I get into your pits. It’s just a kink.”
“Did you play with his feet?”
“A little. It didn’t wind him up as much as when I let him play with mine.”
It was my turn to shrug. I liked having my feet rubbed. Church liked to rub them for me. It didn’t get him off, but it helped me relax and he enjoyed being of service. Nothing else he said about Ancil raised any flags, so I encouraged him to extend an invitation to engage with us. Ancil agreed but presented several conditions. He had to be allowed to keep his jock on, his cock was off limits, and Church wasn’t allowed to share his magic with us. I was tempted to argue, especially about the magic, but I didn’t because I wanted Ancil. I agreed to his terms without any discussion.
The session which resulted was awkward. Without Church’s magic, every act became a request for permission. When we use magic to share emotions, everything is intuitive. No one ever has to ask, ‘may I?’ Without the magic it was impossible for either of us to read Ancil, so we had to ask. I didn’t understand why. Church said, when they were in Vitrum, he enjoyed Ancil thoroughly and they shared magic every night. I didn’t understand why things were different with me present.
Either way, I was open to trying again. My only concern was over the setting. I didn’t like the idea of indulging in sexual escapades, or I guess ‘sexcapades’ in our daughter’s home. “You want to have a threesome in Jo’s house?”
Church sighed and rubbed the back of his neck with the heel of his left hand. “Jo was the first one out of the nest. She was like you in that she knew what she wanted out of life, and she went for it. She got her education, became a well-regarded nutritionist, found a husband, and married him as soon as she could.
“Because she was the first, we didn’t know how much to give her to help start her in life. We were a little lavish. We had a house built for her and Mari and included a suite for us. The suite even has a room for guards. Once we close the door between her house and our suite, no one will know what happens behind it. I don’t want to flaunt our sex in front of our daughter, but if we’re just a little careful, no one will know.”
I felt some retroactive shame about how much of Jo’s house we allotted to our visits. “I forgot how much room we gave ourselves. I don’t know if we were lavish or selfish to build a space like that into her home.”
He shrugged. “What’s done is done. We got smarter as the others left. I don’t think anyone feels slighted. I hope not, anyway. Our kids aren’t bashful. If they didn’t like something, they would have told us.”
“You’re probably right. I’m alright with inviting Ancil for some fun, as long as we’re careful about appearances.”
He tilted his head toward where Ancil sat oblivious to our discussion. “He’s the model of decorum. No one will know unless we tell them. As for Jo, she knows our appetites. As much as we tried to be discreet when they were young, kids are more observant than I care to admit. She wouldn’t expect us to be chaste under her roof.”
“Alright, Love. You may invite him. I’m up for some variety. Besides, we’re going to be traveling companions for an undetermined amount of time. We should figure out if we can enjoy each other, or if every session will be like the first one.”
He stood up from the table. As he did, the box we were in disappeared and the whisper of the plane returned to my ears. “Sounds good. No time like the present.” He went to sit with Ancil and extend the invitation.
I went back to my book until I got that creepy feeling that I was being watched. I turned to find two sets of eyes trained on me. One was Church’s and the other was Ancil’s. They whispered like conspirators while they stared at me.
“You could just tell me what you’re scheming.”
Church shook his head. “Not a chance. If we did, we wouldn’t need to scheme.”
I shrugged and tried to go back to my book. “As you say.”
The pair was still conspiring when the plane landed a short time later.
