The heat was unbearable.
Jack wiped his forehead with the back of his wrist, but it did nothing sweat just replaced sweat. The small gym in Calstock had two ceiling fans that did their best, spinning lazily overhead, but on a day like this, when the Cornish sun beat down mercilessly and the air hung thick and still, they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
He should have stayed home. Should have gone for a swim in the Tamar instead, let the cool river water wash over him. But Jack had a routine, and routines kept him sane. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: chest and arms. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: legs and back. Sunday: rest, maybe a walk through the valley if he felt like it.
Today was Friday. Chest and arms. No exceptions.
The gym was nearly empty most people had more sense than to work out in this weather. Old Martin was on the rowing machine in the corner, moving at his usual glacial pace, and Sarah was doing something with resistance bands near the windows. That was it. Even Dave, who owned the place, had retreated to his office with what Jack suspected was a cold beer hidden in his mini-fridge.
Jack loaded the barbell. Two twenty-kilogram plates on each side, plus the bar. A hundred kilos. Not his max, but respectable. He lay back on the bench, the vinyl sticky against his shoulders through his soaked grey tank top. His black Adidas trainersvhis favorite pair, worn soft over months of use were planted firmly on either side of the bench, giving him stability.
He gripped the bar, felt its knurled texture bite into his palms.
And then he realized his problem.
Shit.
He needed a spotter. A hundred kilos wasn't something to mess around with, especially when he was already fatigued from the heat. He sat up, looking around the gym. Martin was seventy if he was a day. Sarah was strong, but she was five-foot-nothing and busy with her own workout.
Jack sighed, resigned to either reducing the weight or abandoning the exercise entirely, when the door opened.
The man who walked in was... well, he was exactly the kind of distraction Jack didn't need.
Tall maybe six-one or six-two with broad shoulders and a tapered waist that his fitted black t-shirt showed off perfectly. Dark hair, slightly damp with sweat already just from walking here in the heat. Stubble along a strong jaw. And when he moved toward the weights area, there was an easy confidence in his stride that made Jack's mouth go dry for reasons that had nothing to do with dehydration.
The man set down his gym bag a battered Nike duffel that had seen better days and pulled out a water bottle. He took a long drink, his throat working, and Jack realized he was staring.
Stop it. Jesus.
But then the man's eyes swept across the gym and landed on Jack, and something flickered in his expression. Recognition, maybe, though Jack was certain they'd never met. He'd have remembered.
The man smiledjust a small quirk of his lipsvand headed over.
"Alright?" he said, his voice low and warm with a hint of a Cornish accent that had been softened by time spent elsewhere. "You look like you're about to attempt something ambitious."
Jack laughed despite himself. "That obvious?"
"Well, you've been staring at that bar for about two minutes like it personally offended you." The man's smile widened, and Jack noticed he had a small scar through his left eyebrow. "Need a spot?"
"Yeah, actually. If you don't mind. I know you just got here"
"Don't be daft. That's what we're here for, isn't it?" The man moved around to the head of the bench, positioning himself properly. "I'm Louie, by the way."
"Jack."
"Nice to meet you, Jack." Louie's hands hovered near the bar, ready but not touching. "Whenever you're ready, mate."
Jack lay back down, and suddenly he was very aware of Louie standing above him, close enough that Jack could smell his deodorant something clean and citrusy/mixed with the faint musk of sweat. He gripped the bar again, lifted it from the rack.
"Got it?" Louie asked.
"Yeah."
Jack lowered the bar to his chest, pressed it back up. Once. Twice. Three times. The weight felt good, challenging but manageable. On the fourth rep, his arms started to shake slightly, and Louie's fingers came to rest lightly under the bar, ready to assist.
"You've got it," Louie said quietly. "One more. Come on."
Jack pushed through the fifth rep, his muscles burning, and racked the bar with Louie's help. He sat up, breathing hard, and found Louie looking at him with something like approval.
"Strong," Louie said. "How long have you been lifting?"
"A few years, seriously. You?"
"About the same." Louie grabbed a towel from his bag and wiped his face. Even that simple gesture was distracting the way his forearms flexed, the casual grace of it. "I just moved to Calstock a couple months ago. Still getting used to the local spots."
"Yeah? Where from?"
"Plymouth, most recently. But I grew up in Truro." Louie sat down on the bench next to Jack's, close enough that their knees almost touched. "I needed a change of scenery. Quieter pace, you know?"
Jack nodded. He understood that. Calstock was the kind of place where everyone knew everyone, where the biggest excitement was the occasional regatta or the Christmas market. It was easy to feel invisible here, which was sometimes exactly what you needed.
"You from here originally?" Louie asked.
"Born and raised. Left for uni, came back about five years ago." Jack took a drink from his water bottle, very aware of Louie's eyes on him. "Couldn't stay away. The valley gets in your blood."
"I'm starting to see that." Louie's gaze drifted toward the windows, where the afternoon sun painted everything gold. "It's beautiful here. Different from the city."
They fell into a comfortable silence, both catching their breath. Jack found himself noticing details he had no business noticing: the way Louie's t-shirt clung to his chest, dark with sweat in a V down his sternum. The strength in his thighs, visible through his grey joggers. And Jack's eyes dropped before he could stop his feet in white Nike trainers that looked well-worn, the laces slightly loose, his ankles bare above them.
Jack looked away quickly, heat rising in his face that had nothing to do with the temperature.
Don't be weird. Don't be fucking weird.
"Are you doing legs today?" Jack asked, desperate for something to say.
"I was planning on it. Though in this heat..." Louie laughed, shaking his head. "Might be a form of self-torture."
"Everything's self-torture today. I'm already regretting coming in."
"But you came anyway."
"Routine," Jack admitted. "Can't break it. I get twitchy."
Louie's smile was knowing. "Yeah, I get that. I'm the same way. Drive my mates mad sometimes, but..." He shrugged. "It's how I'm wired."
There was something in the way he said it how I'm wired that felt like it meant more than just gym routines. Jack felt an unexpected pull of curiosity, wanting to know what else Louie was particular about, what other routines and rituals shaped his days.
"Do you need a spot for anything?" Jack offered, surprising himself. "Fair's fair."
Louie's expression brightened. "Actually, yeah. I was going to do squats. Could someone check my form, if you don't mind hanging around."
"Course not."
They moved to the squat rack together, and Jack tried not to watch too obviously as Louie loaded the bar. His movements were efficient, practiced. When he ducked under the bar and positioned it across his shoulders, Jack stepped closer, ready to assist if needed.
"Let me know if I'm leaning too far forward," Louie said. "I've got a habit of it when I'm tired."
"Will do."
Louie descended into the squat, and Jack's job was to watch his form, to make sure his knees tracked properly over his toes, that his back stayed neutral. That was his job. That was all he was supposed to be doing.
But he couldn't help noticing the power in Louie's legs, the way his muscles engaged and released. The flex of his calves above his trainers. The slight squeak of rubber on the gym floor as Louie adjusted his stance between reps.
Stop it.
"Form looks good," Jack said, his voice rougher than intended. "Nice depth."
Louie completed his set and racked the bar, turning to face Jack. His face was flushed, sweat dripping down his temples, and he was breathing hard. "Cheers. That felt solid."
"You've got good control."
"Years of practice." Louie grabbed his towel again, wiping down his neck. "You know what the worst part of working out in this heat is?"
"What?"
"Everything gets so bloody sweaty. Trainers, socks, everything. I'm going to have to throw these in the wash the second I get home." He glanced down at his feet, then back up at Jack with a slightly embarrassed laugh. "Sorry, that's probably too much information."
"No, Iv" Jack cleared his throat. "I know what you mean. Same problem."
And he did. God, he did. The way his own trainers felt right now, damp with sweat, the heat trapped inside them. His socks clinging to his feet. It was uncomfortable, objectively, but there was also something about it that Jack had never been able to explain to anyone, something that made his pulse quicken in a way he'd learned to be ashamed of.
He pushed the thought away.
Louie was looking at him with an expression Jack couldn't quite read. "You alright? You look a bit flushed."
"Just the heat," Jack said quickly. "It's brutal in here."
"Yeah." Louie's gaze lingered for a moment longer, then he smiled. "Want to grab some water? I think I need a break before I pass out."
They moved to the small seating area near the entrance, where the fans at least provided some circulation. Jack collapsed onto one of the worn benches, and Louie sat across from him, stretching his legs out. His trainers were definitely well-used, Jack noticed the white leather creased and slightly yellowed, the swoosh logo faded. There was something appealing about that, about trainers that had been worn and lived in, that had stories.
Jesus Christ, get a grip.
"So what do you do?" Louie asked, pulling Jack's attention back to his face. "For work, I mean."
"I'm a carpenter. Mostly custom furniture, some restoration work."
"Yeah? That's brilliant. I love that kind of craftsmanship." Louie leaned forward, genuinely interested. "You work for yourself?"
"Small workshop in the village. It's just me and one other guy, Pete. We keep busy enough."
"I bet. Everyone wants something bespoke these days." Louie took another drink of water. "I'm in IT. Remote work, mostly. Web development, some consulting. It's why I could move out here don't need to be in an office."
"Best of both worlds."
"Exactly." Louie's smile was easy, relaxed. Jack found himself relaxing too, the initial nervousness fading into something more comfortable. "Though I'll admit, the social life takes a hit. I haven't really met many people yet."
"Calstock's small, but friendly. There's a pub quiz on Thursdays at the Boot if you're into that sort of thing. And the farmers' market on Saturdays."
"Pub quiz?" Louie's eyes lit up. "I'm dangerously competitive about pub quizzes."
Jack laughed. "Noted. I'll make sure we're on the same team if you ever come along."
"Is that an invitation?"
The question hung in the air between them, and Jack realized with a start that yes, it was. He was inviting this man, this stranger he'd met twenty minutes ago to spend more time with him. And more than that, he wanted to.
"Yeah," Jack said. "Yeah, I guess it is."
Louie's smile widened. "Then I'll take you up on it. Fair warning though I take my trivia very seriously."
"I'll consider myself warned."
They sat there for a few more minutes, talking about nothing in particular the best walking routes in the valley, where to get decent coffee in the village, the quirks of Calstock life. It was easy, natural, the kind of conversation that felt like it could go on for hours if they let it.
Eventually, Louie glanced at his watch and sighed. "I should probably finish my workout before I cool down completely. But this was nice. Really nice."
"Yeah, it was."
They stood, and for a moment they just looked at each other. Jack was acutely aware of how close they were standing, how easy it would be to reach out, to touch. He didn't, of course. That would be insane. But the thought was there.
"Are you here most Fridays?" Louie asked.
"Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Usually around this time."
"Good to know." Louie picked up his towel, slinging it over his shoulder. "Maybe I'll see you around then. Could use a regular spotter."
"Same here."
Louie headed back toward the weights, and Jack watched him go, his eyes tracing the line of his shoulders, the way his joggers hung low on his hips. When Louie glanced back and caught him looking, Jack felt his face heat again, but Louie just grinned and gave him a small wave.
Jack returned to his own workout, but his mind wasn't in it anymore. He went through the curls, tricep extensions, shoulder presses but all he could think about was Louie. The sound of his voice. The way he'd looked standing over Jack at the bench press, solid and sure. The casual mention of sweaty trainers and socks, like it was nothing, like it was just a normal complaint about working out in the heat.
Which it was. Obviously. Jack was reading into things, seeing what he wanted to see because he was desperate and lonely and hadn't been with anyone in over a year.
But still.
When Jack finished his workout and headed for the door, Louie was in the middle of a set of lunges. He looked up as Jack passed, and their eyes met.
"See you Monday?" Louie called out.
Jack's heart did something complicated in his chest. "Yeah. Monday."
Outside, the heat hit him like a wall, but Jack barely noticed. He walked home through the village in a daze, his gym bag slung over his shoulder, his trainers squeaking slightly with each step. His socks were soaked through, clinging to his feet, and normally that would bother him. Normally he'd be thinking about getting home and peeling them off, maybe throwing them straight in the wash.
But today, he was thinking about Louie. About the way he'd smiled. About the possibility of Monday, and Wednesday, and Friday. About having someone to spot him, to talk to, to look forward to seeing.
It was dangerous, this feeling. Jack knew that. He'd been down this road before getting his hopes up, reading too much into friendly gestures, only to be disappointed when the other person turned out to be straight or taken or simply not interested.
But there had been something in the way Louie looked at him. Something in the way the conversation had flowed, easy and warm. Something in the way Louie had mentioned his sweaty trainers with that slightly embarrassed laugh, like he was testing the waters, seeing how Jack would react.
Or maybe Jack was imagining all of it.
He let himself into his flat small one-bedroom above the bakery on the high streetvand dropped his bag by the door. The space was modest but comfortable, filled with furniture he'd made himself: a solid oak dining table, a bookshelf made from reclaimed wood, a coffee table with a live edge that had taken him weeks to finish properly.
Jack kicked off his trainers, leaving them by the door, and peeled off his socks. His feet ached pleasantly from the workout, and he flexed his toes against the cool floorboards. Size twelve, broad across the ball of the foot. He'd always been self-conscious about them they seemed too big, too noticeable. But they were strong, capable. They carried him through long days in the workshop and longer runs through the valley.
He padded to the bathroom and turned on the shower, letting the water run cold. While he waited for it to reach the right temperature, he caught sight of himself in the mirror. Flushed face, hair plastered to his forehead with sweat. Grey tank top clinging to his chest and abs. He wasn't vain, but he could admit he'd worked hard for this body, and it showed.
Had Louie noticed? Had he looked at Jack the way Jack had looked at him?
Stop it. You're being ridiculous.
But as Jack stepped into the shower and let the cold water sluice over him, he couldn't stop thinking about Monday. About seeing Louie again. About the possibility that maybe, just maybe, this could be something.
He thought about Louie's trainers, well-worn and comfortable. About the way he'd mentioned them so casually, like it was nothing. About the way Jack's pulse had quickened at the words.
Jack had spent years being ashamed of what he liked, of what turned him on. It wasn't normal, he'd been told by an ex-boyfriend who'd laughed at him, by the voice in his own head that said he was weird, broken, wrong. So he'd learned to hide it, to pretend it didn't exist, to feel guilty every time his eyes lingered on someone's feet or trainers or the way their socks bunched around their ankles.
But standing in the shower, water streaming over him, Jack let himself imagine just for a moment what it might be like to be with someone who understood. Someone who didn't think he was strange. Someone who maybe even shared his interests.
Someone like Louie.
It was a dangerous thought. A foolish thought. But Jack held onto it anyway, a small spark of hope in the center of his chest.
Monday couldn't come fast enough.
Louie made it home in record time, his legs burning from the workout and the walk up the hill to his cottage. The place was small, just two bedrooms, one of which he'd converted into an office but it had a garden and a view of the valley that made his chest ache every time he looked at it.
He dropped his bag in the hallway and immediately sat down to unlace his trainers. They were damp with sweat, the insoles probably soaked through. He should have brought a spare pair, but he'd been in a rush this morning, distracted by a work call that had run long.
Louie pulled off his trainers and set them aside, then peeled off his socks. They were white Nike ankle socks, and they clung to his feet, damp and warm. Size thirteenvhe'd always had big feet, something he'd been teased about as a teenager until he'd grown into them, until they'd become just another part of him.
He flexed his toes, feeling the relief of cool air on his skin, and then he thought about Jack.
Fuck.
Jack, with his dark eyes and his shy smile. Jack, who'd looked at Louie like he was something worth looking at. Jack, who'd blushed when Louie caught him staring, who'd stumbled over his words in a way that was endearing rather than awkward.
Jack, who'd glanced down at Louie's trainers with an expression that Louie recognized because he'd seen it in the mirror a thousand times.
Interest. Desire. Shame.
Louie had learned to read those signs years ago, learned to spot the men who shared his particular interests. It was a survival skill, a way of finding connection in a world that didn't understand. And Jackvsweet, strong, beautiful Jackvhad all the signs.
Or maybe Louie was projecting. Maybe he was so desperate for connection that he was seeing what he wanted to see.
But he didn't think so.
There had been a moment, when Louie had mentioned his sweaty trainers, when Jack's eyes had darkened just slightly, when his breath had caught. It had been subtle, easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. But Louie had been looking.
He'd been looking at Jack all afternoon.
Louie stood and headed for the shower, his mind racing. He'd moved to Calstock to escape from the noise of Plymouth, from the expectations of his family, from the string of failed relationships that had left him feeling hollow and used. He'd wanted peace, simplicity, a chance to figure out who he was without the pressure of trying to be what everyone else wanted.
He hadn't expected to meet someone like Jack in his second month here.
In the shower, Louie let the water run hot, steam filling the small bathroom. He thought about Jack's body, strong and solid. About the way his muscles had flexed as he'd pressed the bar up, the determination in his face. About his hands, calloused and capable carpenter's hands.
About his feet in those black Adidas trainers, planted firmly on either side of the bench.
Louie closed his eyes and let himself imagine what it might be like to explore that interest with Jack. To peel off his trainers after a workout, to press his face against the damp fabric and breathe in. To worship his feet the way Louie had always wanted to worship someone's, without shame or judgment.
It was a fantasy, probably. A beautiful, impossible fantasy.
But Monday was only three days away, and Louie had always been an optimist.
He finished his shower and dressed in clean clothes, joggers and a t-shirt, comfortable and soft. His trainers were still by the door where he'd left them, and Louie picked them up, examining them. They really were getting worn out. He should probably buy a new pair soon.
But he liked these ones. Liked the way they'd molded to his feet over months of wear, the way they felt like an extension of himself. There was something intimate about well-worn trainers, something personal.
He wondered if Jack felt the same way.
Louie set the trainers aside and went to his office, intending to get some work done. But he couldn't focus. His mind kept drifting back to the gym, to Jack's smile, to the possibility of Monday.
Finally, he gave up and made himself dinner pasta with pesto, simple and quick. He ate on the back patio, watching the sun set over the valley, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink.
It was beautiful here. Peaceful. Exactly what he'd been looking for.
And now, maybe, there was the possibility of something more.
Louie thought about Jack's invitation to the pub quiz, the way he'd offered it so casually, like it was nothing. But it wasn't nothing. It was a door opening, a chance to spend time together outside the gym, to see if this connection was real or just wishful thinking.
Louie wanted it to be real.
He wanted it so badly it scared him.
Because the thing about having particular interests about being into things that most people didn't understand was that it made you vulnerable. It made you careful. You learned to hide, to test the waters slowly, to protect yourself from rejection and ridicule.
Louie had been rejected before. Had been laughed at, called weird, made to feel like there was something wrong with him. It had taken years to accept himself, to understand that his desires were just part of who he was, not something to be ashamed of.
But acceptance didn't mean it didn't still hurt when someone didn't understand.
So Louie would be careful with Jack. Would take it slow, feel out the situation, make sure he wasn't misreading the signs. Because if he was wrong if Jack was just a friendly, straight guy who happened to be attractive then Louie would deal with it. He'd been disappointed before. He'd survive.
But if he was right...
If he was right, then maybe Calstock had given him exactly what he'd been looking for.
Louie finished his dinner and went inside, the evening air cooling around him. He had work to do, emails to answer, code to write. But first, he pulled out his phone and opened his calendar.
Monday. 4:30 PM. Gym.
He set a reminder, even though he knew he wouldn't need it.
He wasn't going to miss this for anything.
Monday came slowly, each hour dragging like honey from a spoon. Jack tried to focus on work he had a commission for a dining table that needed finishing, the wood already sanded smooth and waiting for its final coat of oil but his mind kept wandering. To Friday. To Louie. To the way his voice had sounded, low and warm, when he'd said see you Monday .
"You alright, mate?" Pete asked around lunchtime, looking up from the chair leg he was turning on the lathe. "You've been staring at that table for ten minutes."
Jack blinked, realizing he'd been standing there with the oil-soaked rag in his hand, doing absolutely nothing. "Yeah, sorry. Just thinking."
"About what? You look like you're solving world hunger over there."
"Nothing important." Jack forced himself to move, to drag the rag along the grain of the wood in long, even strokes. The scent of linseed oil filled the workshop, familiar and grounding. "Just distracted."
Pete grunted, unconvinced, but didn't push. That was one of the things Jack appreciated about himvPete knew when to leave well enough alone.
By the time 4:00 rolled around, Jack was practically vibrating with nervous energy. He cleaned up his workspace with unusual care, washing his hands twice to get the oil and sawdust out from under his nails. Pete watched him with barely concealed amusement.
"Hot date?" Pete asked.
"Gym," Jack said shortly.
"Right. Gym." Pete's grin was knowing. "Have fun with that."
Jack ignored him and headed home to change. He told himself he wasn't putting extra thought into what he worevit was just gym clothes, for fuck's sakevbut he still found himself choosing his newer black shorts instead of the faded grey ones, and a fitted navy tank top that he knew showed off his arms.
You're being ridiculous, he told himself as he laced up his black Adidas trainers. He's probably not even going to be there.
But Louie was there.
Jack spotted him the moment he walked through the gym door. Louie was at the leg press machine, his face flushed with effort, his grey t-shirt dark with sweat down the center of his chest. His white trainers were planted firmly on the platform, and as Jack watched, he pushed the weight up with a controlled exhale, his thighs flexing powerfully.
Jack's mouth went dry.
Louie finished his rep and looked up, and their eyes met across the gym. For a moment, neither of them moved. Then Louie's face broke into a smile, genuine and bright and maybe just a little bit relieved and he raised a hand in greeting.
Jack's heart did something complicated in his chest. He waved back and headed over, trying to look casual, like he hadn't been thinking about this moment for three straight days.
"You made it," Louie said, slightly breathless. Up close, he looked even better than Jack hair damp with sweat, his forearms corded with muscle, a slight sheen of perspiration on his neck.
"Told you I would." Jack set down his water bottle and towel. "How's the workout going?"
"Good. Brutal, but good." Louie wiped his face with his towel. "I'm doing legs today. You?"
"Same, actually."
"Yeah?" Louie's smile widened. "Want to work through it together? We can spot each other."
Yes. God, yes.
"Sure," Jack said, aiming for nonchalant and probably missing by a mile. "That'd be good."
They fell into an easy rhythm, moving between exercises together. Squats first Jack went first, and Louie stood behind him, close enough that Jack could feel his presence like heat against his back. When Jack's legs started to shake on the last rep, Louie's hands came to rest lightly on his hips, steadying him.
"You've got it," Louie murmured. "One more. Come on."
Jack pushed through, his muscles burning, and racked the bar with Louie's help. When he turned around, they were standing close enough that Jack could see the flecks of gold in Louie's brown eyes, and could smell his deodorant mixed with clean sweat.
"Nice," Louie said softly. "That was solid."
"Thanks." Jack's voice came out rougher than intended. He stepped back, giving Louie space to take his turn.
Watching Louie squat was an experience. The power in his legs, the control in his movements, the way his arse looked in those grey joggers Jack had to actively remind himself not to stare. But then Louie glanced back at him between reps, catching him looking, and instead of seeming uncomfortable, he just grinned.
"Form okay?" Louie asked.
"Perfect," Jack managed.
They moved on to lunges, then leg curls, then calf raises. With each exercise, they grew more comfortable with each other, adjusting each other's form with casual touches, offering encouragement, falling into easy conversation between sets.
"So how was your weekend?" Louie asked as they moved to the leg extension machine.
"Quiet. Worked on a table commission, went for a run Sunday morning. You?"
"Mostly work. Had a video call with a client that went way too long." Louie settled into the machine and adjusted the weight. "But I explored the village a bit more. Found that bakery you mentioned the one on the high street?"
"Above it, actually. That's where I live."
Louie's eyebrows rose. "No shit? Small world."
"Small village," Jack corrected. "You can't throw a stone without hitting someone you know."
"I'm starting to realize that." Louie began his set, his quads flexing with each extension. "It's different from Plymouth. Takes some getting used to."
"In a good way?"
"Yeah." Louie finished his reps and looked at Jack. "Definitely in a good way."
There was something in his tone, something warm and meaningful that made Jack's pulse quicken. He looked away, pretending to adjust the weight setting, and tried to get his breathing under control.
By the time they finished their workout, both of them were drenched in sweat. Jack's tank top clung to his chest and back, and Louie's t-shirt was soaked through, the fabric molded to his torso in a way that was frankly distracting.
"Christ, I need a shower," Louie said, laughing as he wiped his face. "I'm disgusting."
"Same." Jack grabbed his water bottle and drained half of it. "Good workout though."
"Really good." Louie hesitated, then said, "Same time Wednesday?"
"Yeah. Definitely."
They walked out together, and Jack was acutely aware of Louie beside sound of his breathing, still slightly elevated from the workout, the squeak of his trainers on the pavement. When they reached the point where their paths diverged, they both stopped.
"See you Wednesday then," Louie said.
"Wednesday," Jack confirmed.
Louie smiled, gave a small wave, and headed up the hill toward his cottage. Jack watched him go for a moment the breadth of his shoulders, the way he moved then forced himself to turn and walk home.
Inside his flat, Jack stripped off his gym clothes and stood in the shower, letting cold water cascade over him. His legs ached pleasantly from the workout, and his mind was full of Louie. The way he'd smiled. The way his hands had felt on Jack's hips, steadying him. The way he'd looked in those sweat-soaked clothes.
Jack's hand drifted down his body almost without conscious thought, wrapping around his cock. He was already half-hard, had been since the gym, and it didn't take much just the memory of Louie's voice, low and encouraging, the image of his powerful thighs, the thought of his trainers, white and worn and probably damp with sweat inside
Jack came with a gasp, his forehead pressed against the cool tile, Louie's name caught behind his teeth.
Afterward, he felt the familiar wash of shame. You barely know him. You're being a creep.
But the shame was quieter than usual, drowned out by something else. Hope, maybe. Or possibility.
Wednesday couldn't come fast enough.
Wednesday did come, and Friday after that, and then it was Monday again. Two weeks passed in a blur of gym sessions and stolen glances and conversations that grew longer and more personal with each meeting.
They developed a routine without ever explicitly discussing it. Jack would arrive at 4:30, and Louie would already be there, warming up. They'd work out together, spotting each other, pushing each other, their bodies moving in sync. Afterward, they'd linger by the water fountain or in the parking lot, talking until the sun started to set and they reluctantly went their separate ways.
Jack learned things about Louie. That he'd studied computer science at university but had taught himself most of his actual skills. That he had a sister in Bristol he was close to, and parents in Truro he saw occasionally but had a complicated relationship with. That he loved sci-fi novels and terrible action movies and could quote entire scenes from Die Hard from memory.
Louie learned things about Jack too. That he'd wanted to be an architect but had fallen in love with woodworking instead. That his parents had retired to Spain and he missed them but also enjoyed the independence. That he ran the Tamar Valley trail every Sunday morning, rain or shine, because it cleared his head.
They learned each other's bodies too, in the way that gym partners do. Jack knew that Louie's right shoulder was slightly weaker than his left, that he had a tendency to arch his back too much on bench press, that he could deadlift an impressive amount but struggled with overhead press. Louie knew that Jack's grip strength was exceptional, that he had incredible core stability, that his legs were powerful but he sometimes locked his knees on squats.
They touched each other constantly, adjusting form, spotting lifts, the casual contact of people who were comfortable in each other's space. And every touch felt electric to Jack, charged with something he didn't dare name.
He noticed things he shouldn't notice. The way Louie's arse looked in his joggers when he bent to pick up weights. The bulge at the front of his shorts, impossible not to see when he was lying on the bench press and Jack was standing over him. The size of his thirteen, maybe even biggervand the way his trainers looked after a hard workout, the fabric dark with sweat, the laces slightly loosened.
Jack noticed, and he tried not to notice, and he failed spectacularly at both.
Louie noticed things too. Jack could feel his eyes sometimes, tracking the movement of his body. Could see the way Louie's gaze would drop to Jack's legs during squats, or linger on his arms during curls. Once, Jack caught him staring at Jack's feet as he adjusted his stance on the leg press, and when their eyes met, Louie had flushed and looked away quickly.
The tension between them built like pressure in a closed system, increasing with each session until Jack felt like he might explode from it.
It was Friday of the second week when things shifted.
They'd just finished a particularly brutal leg workout. Jack's thighs were trembling, and Louie was walking with a slight limp and they were cooling down by the windows, stretching out their muscles.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to walk tomorrow," Louie groaned, folding forward to stretch his hamstrings. His t-shirt rode up slightly, revealing a strip of tanned skin above his waistband.
"Worth it though," Jack said, trying not to stare.
"Is it? I'm starting to question my life choices." But Louie was grinning as he straightened up. "Hey, random question you doing anything after this?"
Jack's heart stuttered. "No. Why?"
"I was thinking..." Louie hesitated, suddenly looking uncertain. "There's that pub you mentioned. The Boot? I was going to grab some food there. Want to join me?"
Yes. God, yes.
"Sure," Jack said, aiming for casualness. "I could eat."
Louie's face lit up. "Yeah? Brilliant. Give me ten minutes to shower and change?"
They had lockers at the gym and small ones, but enough for a change of clothes and toiletries. Jack showered quickly, trying not to think about the fact that Louie was naked in the next stall over, separated by just a thin wall. He dressed in the clean clothes he'd brought jeans and a dark green henley and ran his fingers through his damp hair.
When he emerged, Louie was already waiting, dressed in black jeans and a grey t-shirt that fit him perfectly. His hair was still wet, curling slightly at the ends, and he smelled like shower gel and something else, something that was just him .
"Ready?" Louie asked.
"Yeah."
They walked to the Boot together through the warm evening air. The pub was busy but not packed locals mostly, people Jack had known his whole life. A few heads turned when they walked in together, and Jack saw Mrs. Henderson from the post office raise her eyebrows with interest.
Great. That'll be all over the village by tomorrow.
But he found he didn't care as much as he thought he would.
They found a table in the corner, away from the main crowd, and ordered food and chips for Jack, a burger for Louie, and pints of local ale for both of them. The conversation flowed easily, as it always did, but there was something different about being here, in this context. This wasn't the gym. This was a pub. This was... well, it felt like a date.
Jack tried not to think about that too hard.
"So," Louie said, taking a sip of his beer. "Tell me something I don't know about you."
"Like what?"
"I don't know. Something real. Something you don't usually tell people."
Jack considered this. There were a lot of things he didn't tell people. Most of them he couldn't tell Louie, not without risking everything. But there were other truths, safer ones.
"I almost didn't come back to Calstock," he said finally. "After uni. I had a job offer in London good money, prestigious firm. Everyone expected me to take it."
"But you didn't."
"No. I came back here instead, started working with Pete, eventually bought into the business." Jack traced a finger through the condensation on his glass. "My parents were disappointed. They thought I was wasting my potential."
"Were you?"
"No." Jack looked up, meeting Louie's eyes. "I'm happy here. I love what I do. I love this place. But sometimes I wonder if I was just... scared. If I came back because it was safe, because I knew it, because I could hide here."
Louie was quiet for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "I don't think choosing what makes you happy is the same as hiding."
"Maybe not. But sometimes it feels like it."
Their food arrived, and they ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes. Then Louie said, "Can I tell you something I don't usually tell people?"
"Of course."
"I moved here because I was running away." Louie's voice was quiet, almost lost under the noise of the pub. "From Plymouth, from my life there, from... from a relationship that ended badly."
Jack's chest tightened. "How badly?"
"Bad enough that I needed to start over somewhere new." Louie took a long drink of his beer. "He was... he made me feel like there was something wrong with me. Like I was too much, or not enough, or just... wrong. And I started to believe it."
"There's nothing wrong with you," Jack said fiercely, surprising himself with his vehemence.
Louie looked at him, something vulnerable and raw in his expression. "You don't know that. You don't know me well enough to know that."
"I know enough."
They stared at each other across the table, and Jack felt the air between them thicken with something he couldn't name. Want, maybe. Or recognition. Or the beginning of something that could be either wonderful or terrible, depending on how brave they were willing to be.
Louie broke the moment first, looking down at his plate. "Anyway. That's why I'm here. Fresh start and all that."
"How's it going so far? A fresh start?"
Louie's smile was small but genuine. "Better than I expected, actually."
They finished their meal and ordered another round of drinks. The pub grew busier around them, but Jack barely noticed. He was too focused on Louie von the way he laughed, throwing his head back, on the way his hands moved when he talked, on the way he looked at Jack like he was actually seeing him, not just the surface but something deeper.
It was intoxicating and terrifying in equal measure.
By the time they left the pub, it was fully dark, the village quiet except for the distant sound of the river. They walked slowly, neither of them in a hurry to end the evening.
"This was nice," Louie said as they reached the point where their paths diverged. "We should do it again sometime."
"Yeah. Definitely."
Louie hesitated, then said, "Actually, I was thinking... if you're not busy Sunday, maybe we could do that walk you mentioned? The Tamar Valley trail?"
Jack's heart leapt. "You want to go running with me?"
"Well, maybe not running. I'm more of a walker. But I'd like to see it. And..." Louie's smile was shy, almost nervous. "I'd like to spend more time with you. Outside the gym."
He wants to spend time with me. He wants
"I'd like that too," Jack said, his voice rough with emotion he couldn't quite hide.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
They stood there for a moment, close enough that Jack could have reached out and touched him, could have closed the distance between them and
But he didn't. Because he was scared, and because he didn't know if Louie wanted that, and because once you crossed that line, you couldn't uncross it.
"Sunday then," Louie said finally. "What time?"
"Eight? We can meet at the trailhead."
"Perfect. I'll see you then." Louie took a step back, then paused. "And Jack? Thanks. For tonight. For... for being easy to talk to."
"Same," Jack managed.
He watched Louie walk away, his hands shoved in his pockets, his shoulders relaxed. When Louie glanced back and waved, Jack waved back, and then he turned and headed home, his mind racing.
This is happening. Something is happening.
He didn't know what, exactly. Didn't know if Louie felt the same pull he did, the same magnetic attraction. Didn't know if Louie was gay, or bi, or just friendly. Didn't know if he was reading too much into everything, seeing what he wanted to see.
But Sunday was two days away, and Jack had never looked forward to anything more in his life.
Sunday morning dawned clear and bright, the kind of perfect summer day that made you grateful to be alive. Jack was at the trailhead by 7:45, too nervous to be late, and spent the next fifteen minutes trying not to pace.
Louie arrived at exactly eight o'clock, dressed in running shorts and a t-shirt, a small backpack slung over one shoulder. He looked sleep-rumpled and beautiful, his hair sticking up in places, and Jack's heart did that complicated thing again.
"Morning," Louie said, smiling. "Ready for this?"
"Always."
They set off down the trail, and Jack immediately slowed his usual pace to match Louie's walking speed. The path wound through dense woodland, dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, the sound of the river a constant companion.
"This is gorgeous," Louie said, looking around with genuine appreciation. "I can see why you do this every week."
"It's my favorite place in the world," Jack admitted. "When I'm here, everything else just... quiets down."
They walked in comfortable silence for a while, the only sounds their footsteps on the packed earth and the birdsong overhead. Jack was hyperaware of Louie beside rhythm of his breathing, the swing of his arms, the occasional brush of their shoulders when the path narrowed.
"Can I ask you something?" Louie said eventually.
"Sure."
"That thing you said the other night. About hiding." Louie's voice was careful, like he was choosing his words deliberately. "What are you hiding from?"
Jack's breath caught. It was such a simple question, but the answer was so complicated, so tangled up in shame and fear and desire that he didn't know where to start.
"I don't know," he said finally. "Everything? Nothing? Myself, maybe."
"That's a very philosophical answer."
"It's a very complicated question."
They walked a bit further, and then Louie said, "I think we're all hiding from something. Or hiding something. It's just part of being human, isn't it? Having parts of yourself you don't show people."
"Yeah." Jack's throat felt tight. "Yeah, I guess it is."
"The trick is finding people you don't have to hide from." Louie glanced at him, his expression open and honest. "People who see you and don't run away."
Is that what you are? Jack wanted to ask. Are you someone I don't have to hide from?
But he didn't say it. Instead, he said, "Have you found people like that?"
"Not many. My sister, maybe. A couple of friends from uni." Louie paused. "I'm hoping to find more here."
The implication hung in the air between them I'm hoping you could be one of them and Jack felt something crack open in his chest, something that had been locked tight for years.
They reached a viewpoint overlooking the valley, and stopped to take it in. The Tamar stretched out below them, silver in the morning light, the hills rolling away in shades of green. It was breathtaking, and for a moment, Jack forgot about everything except the beauty of it.
Then Louie said, quietly, "I'm gay."
Jack's head whipped around. Louie was still looking at the view, his profile calm, but Jack could see the tension in his shoulders, the way his hands were clenched at his sides.
"I just thought you should know," Louie continued. "In case... in case it matters. To you. To this." He gestured vaguely between them.
Jack's heart was pounding so hard he could hear it in his ears. "I'm gay too."
Louie turned to look at him, and the relief in his expression was so profound it made Jack's chest ache. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
They stared at each other, and Jack felt the world shift, realigning itself around this moment. Everything that had come before the gym sessions, the lingering looks, the careful conversations suddenly made sense. They'd been circling each other, testing, trying to figure out if it was safe to be honest.
And now they knew.
"So," Louie said, a smile tugging at his lips. "That's good to know."
"Very good to know," Jack agreed, and they both laughed, the tension breaking like a wave.
They continued their walk, but everything felt different now. Lighter. More possible. They talked more freely, sharing stories about coming out, about past relationships, about the challenges of being gay in small communities. Louie told him about his ex, the one who'd made him feel wrong, and Jack told him about his own failed relationships, the ways he'd tried to be what other people wanted and lost himself in the process.
"I'm done with that," Jack said as they looped back toward the trailhead. "Trying to be someone I'm not. It's exhausting."
"So who are you?" Louie asked. "When you're not trying to be anyone else?"
Jack thought about it. "I don't know if I've figured that out yet."
"Well." Louie's smile was warm. "Maybe we can figure it out together."
They reached the parking area, both of them sweaty and tired in the best way. Jack didn't want the morning to end, didn't want to go back to his flat alone, didn't want to lose this feeling of connection and possibility.
"Do you want to grab breakfast?" he asked impulsively. "There's a café in the village that makes great coffee."
"I'd love that."
They went to the café a tiny place called The Copper Kettle that served enormous portions and the best coffee in Cornwall and sat outside in the sunshine, eating scrambled eggs and toast and talking about everything and nothing.
Jack watched Louie across the table the way the sunlight caught in his hair, the way he gestured with his fork when he was making a point, the way he looked at Jack like he was genuinely interested in what he had to say and felt something settle in his chest. Something that felt like rightness.
"I'm really glad you moved here," Jack said suddenly.
Louie looked up, surprised. "Yeah?"
"Yeah. I know it's only been a couple of weeks, but..." Jack trailed off, not sure how to finish that sentence without sounding desperate or weird.
"But it feels like longer," Louie finished for him. "In a good way."
"Exactly."
They finished their breakfast and walked back through the village together. When they reached Jack's building, they both stopped, neither of them quite ready to say goodbye.
"Same time tomorrow?" Louie asked. "At the gym?"
"Definitely."
Louie hesitated, then stepped closer. For a moment, Jack thought he might kiss him ,hoped he might instead, Louie just squeezed his shoulder, his hand warm and solid.
"See you tomorrow, Jack."
"See you tomorrow."
Jack watched him walk away, then climbed the stairs to his flat in a daze. Inside, he collapsed on his sofa and stared at the ceiling, his mind replaying every moment of the morning.
I'm gay too.
He'd said it. He'd actually said it out loud, and Louie hadn't run away. Hadn't looked at him with disgust or pity or discomfort. Had just looked relieved, like he'd been hoping to hear exactly that.
Jack's phone buzzed. A text from Louie: Thanks for this morning. Best Sunday I've had in ages.
Jack smiled and typed back: Same. See you tomorrow.
Tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that.
For the first time in a long time, Jack let himself hope.
The next two weeks passed in a blur of gym sessions and coffee dates and long walks through the valley. They fell into each other's lives with an ease that felt both natural and miraculous, like they'd been waiting for each other without knowing it.
They worked out together every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, their routines now perfectly synchronized. Jack knew exactly how much weight Louie could handle on any given exercise, knew when to push him and when to back off. Louie knew the same about Jack, could read his body language, could tell when he was tired or frustrated or pushing too hard.
The physical closeness intensified. Louie's hands on Jack's hips during squats, steadying him. Jack's hands on Louie's shoulders during bench press, ready to catch the bar. The brush of their bodies when they passed weights to each other. The casual touches that lingered just a moment too long to be entirely innocent.
Jack noticed everything. The way Louie's shorts rode up during leg press, revealing more of his thick thighs. The way sweat collected in the hollow of his throat. The way his trainers looked after a hard workout the white leather dark with moisture, the laces loosened, the tongue pushed forward slightly. The way he'd sit on the bench afterward and flex his feet, stretching out his toes, completely unselfconscious.
And Jack noticed the way Louie looked at him too. Caught him staring at Jack's legs during squats, his eyes tracking the flex of muscle. Caught him watching when Jack adjusted his stance, his gaze dropping to Jack's feet in their black trainers. Caught the way Louie's eyes would darken sometimes, his breathing would change, like he was thinking about something he couldn't say out loud.
The tension between them built and built, a constant hum of awareness that colored every interaction. Jack wanted to touch him, wanted to kiss him, wanted to do things he barely let himself think about. But he was scaredvscared of moving too fast, scared of ruining what they had, scared of revealing too much.
Because there were things Jack wanted that he'd never told anyone. Things he'd been made to feel ashamed of, things that had ended relationships before they'd really begun. And he didn't know how to bring them up, didn't know how to say I want you, but I also want this specific thing, and I'm terrified you'll think I'm weird .
So he stayed quiet, and the wanting grew, and he told himself he was being patient when really he was just being a coward.
It was a Friday afternoon, three weeks after they'd met, when everything changed.
They'd just finished a brutal workout legs again, because apparently they were both gluttons for punishment and they were cooling down, stretching out their muscles. The gym was nearly empty, just them and old Martin in the corner, and the late afternoon sun slanted through the windows, painting everything gold.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to walk for a week," Louie groaned, folding forward to stretch his hamstrings.
"You say that every time," Jack pointed out.
"And I mean it every time." Louie straightened up, wincing. "Christ, I'm getting old."
"You're thirty-two."
"Exactly. Ancient." But Louie was grinning as he said it. "Hey, you doing anything tonight?"
Jack's heart skipped. "No. Why?"
"I was thinking..." Louie hesitated, then seemed to make a decision. "Want to come over? I could make dinner. Nothing fancy, just pasta or something. But I thought it might be nice. To hang out somewhere that's not the gym or a café."
Yes. God, yes.
"Sure," Jack said, trying to sound casual. "That sounds good."
"Yeah?" Louie's smile was bright, relieved. "Brilliant. Give me an hour to shower and get things ready? I'll text you my address."
"I know where you live," Jack reminded him. "You pointed out your cottage last week."
"Right. Of course." Louie laughed, running a hand through his hair. "Okay. So... an hour?"
"An hour."
They parted ways, and Jack practically ran home. He showered quickly, changed into clean clothes jeans and a dark blue button-down that he immediately second-guessed and spent the next twenty minutes pacing his flat and trying not to panic.
It's just dinner. It's not a big deal. You've had dinner with him before.
But this felt different. This was Louie's home, his private space. This was intimate in a way their previous hangouts hadn't been.
Jack grabbed a bottle of wine from his small collection, nothing fancy, but decent and headed out before he could talk himself out of it.
Louie's cottage was on the edge of the village, a small stone building with a garden that was slightly overgrown but charming. Jack knocked on the door, his heart pounding, and Louie answered almost immediately.
He'd showered and changed to grey joggers and a black t-shirt, his feet bare on the hardwood floor. His hair was still damp, curling at the ends, and he smelled like soap and something else, something warm and inviting.
"Hey," Louie said, smiling. "Come in."
Jack stepped inside, taking in the space. It was cozy and lived-in, with mismatched furniture and bookshelves overflowing with paperbacks and a desk in the corner covered in computer equipment. The kitchen was small but functional, and something on the stove smelled amazing.
"I brought wine," Jack said, holding up the bottle.
"Perfect. I'll open it." Louie took the bottle and gestured toward the sofa. "Make yourself comfortable. Dinner's almost ready."
Jack sat down, trying to relax, and watched as Louie moved around the kitchen. He was graceful in his own space, confident, and Jack found himself mesmerized by the simple domesticity of it Louie stirring pasta, tasting the sauce, pouring wine into two glasses.
"Here." Louie handed him a glass and sat down beside him, close enough that their thighs almost touched. "Cheers."
"Cheers."
They clinked glasses and drank, and Jack felt some of his nervousness ease. This was good. This was nice. This was just two friends having dinner together.
Except they weren't just friends, were they? They were something else, something undefined, something that felt like it was balanced on a knife's edge between friendship and something more.
"Dinner's ready," Louie said after a few minutes. "Hope you like carbonara."
"Love it."
They ate at Louie's small dining table, talking easily about their week, about work, about nothing in particular. The food was delicious, and the wine was good, and Jack felt himself relaxing into the evening, into Louie's presence.
After dinner, they moved back to the sofa with their wine glasses refilled. Louie put on some musicvsomething low and jazzy and they sat closer than strictly necessary, their shoulders touching.
"This is nice," Louie said quietly. "Having you here."
"Yeah. It is."
They fell into a comfortable silence, and Jack let himself enjoy the moment the warmth of Louie beside him, the soft music, the wine making everything feel slightly hazy and pleasant.
Then Louie said, "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"That thing you said. About hiding." Louie's voice was careful, tentative. "Are you still hiding? From me?"
Jack's breath caught. "I don't know. Maybe."
"What are you hiding?"
Everything. The things I want. The things I'm ashamed of wanting.
"I don't know if I can tell you," Jack said honestly.
"Why not?"
"Because..." Jack set down his wine glass, his hands suddenly shaking. "Because I'm scared. Of what you'll think. Of how you'll react."
Louie turned to face him fully, his expression serious. "Jack. You can tell me anything. I'm not going to judge you."
"You say that now."
"I mean it." Louie reached out and took Jack's hand, his grip warm and solid. "Whatever it is, it's not going to change how I feel about you."
Jack looked down at their joined hands, his heart pounding. This was it. This was the moment. He could either be brave or he could keep hiding, and he was so tired of hiding.
"I have... interests," he said slowly. "Things I'm into. That most people don't understand."
"Okay," Louie said, his voice steady. "What kind of interests?"
Jack took a deep breath. "Sexual interests. Specific things that... that turn me on."
"Everyone has those," Louie said gently. "That's normal."
"Not like this." Jack forced himself to meet Louie's eyes. "I've been made to feel like there's something wrong with me. Like I'm weird, or broken, or perverted. And I've tried to ignore it, tried to pretend it doesn't matter, but it does. It's part of who I am, and I can't change it."
"What is it?" Louie asked. "What are you into?"
Jack's mouth was dry. His heart was racing. Every instinct screamed at him to shut up, to change the subject, to protect himself. But he was so tired of being alone with this, so tired of the shame.
"Feet," he said, barely above a whisper. "I'm into feet. And trainers. And socks. Especially after the gym, when they're sweaty and worn and..." He trailed off, unable to continue, waiting for Louie's reaction.
Louie was very still. His expression was unreadable, and Jack felt panic rising in his chest.
He's going to leave. He's going to think I'm disgusting. He's going to
"Jack," Louie said softly. "Look at me."
Jack forced himself to meet Louie's eyes, bracing for disgust or pity or uncomfortable laughter.
But what he saw was something else entirely.
Understanding. Recognition. And something that looked almost like relief.
"I..." Louie's voice was rough. "I have the same interests."
Jack stared at him, certain he'd misheard. "What?"
"Feet. Trainers. Socks. All of it." Louie's hand tightened on Jack's. "I'm into the same things you are."
The world seemed to tilt sideways. Jack couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't process what he was hearing.
"You're... you're serious?"
"Completely serious." Louie's smile was shaky, vulnerable. "I've been hiding it too. Been ashamed of it. Been terrified you'd find out and think I was weird."
"I don't think you're weird," Jack said automatically.
"And I don't think you're weird either." Louie shifted closer, his eyes intense. "Jack, I've been watching you for weeks. Noticing things. The way you look at my trainers after a workout. The way your eyes linger on my feet. I thought I was imagining it, thought I was projecting, but..."
"You weren't imagining it," Jack said, his voice barely audible. "I've been looking. I've been wanting. I just didn't think..."
"That I'd want it too?"
"Yeah."
They stared at each other, and Jack felt something shift between them, something fundamental. All the careful distance they'd maintained, all the polite boundaries they were dissolving, melting away in the face of this shared truth.
"So," Louie said, his voice low. "What do we do now?"
Jack's heart was pounding so hard he thought it might burst out of his chest. "I don't know. What do you want to do?"
"I want..." Louie swallowed hard. "I want to stop hiding. I want to explore this. With you. If you want that too."
"I do," Jack said immediately. "God, I do."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Louie's smile was brilliant, transforming his whole face. "Okay. Okay, good. That's... that's really good."
They sat there for a moment, both of them breathing hard, the air between them charged with possibility. Then Louie said, "We should probably talk about this. About what we like, what we want, what our boundaries are."
"Right. Yes. That's... that's smart."
But neither of them moved. They just sat there, hands still clasped, staring at each other like they couldn't quite believe this was real.
"I've never done this before," Jack admitted. "Talked about it openly. With someone who understands."
"Me neither." Louie's thumb stroked across Jack's knuckles, a gentle, grounding touch. "It's scary, isn't it? Being this honest."
"Terrifying."
"But also..." Louie's smile was soft. "Kind of amazing?"
"Yeah," Jack agreed. "Yeah, it really is."
They talked for hours after that, curled up on Louie's sofa, their voices low and intimate. They shared their histories with this interest when they'd first realized it, how they'd tried to suppress it, the shame they'd carried. They talked about past partners who hadn't understood, who'd made them feel broken or wrong.
"My ex laughed at me," Jack said, his voice tight with old hurt. "When I tried to tell him. He said it was disgusting that I needed therapy. We broke up a week later."
"I'm sorry," Louie said, his hand finding Jack's again. "That's awful."
"What about you? Have you ever told anyone?"
"Once. A guy I was seeing in Plymouth." Louie's expression was pained. "He was... not kind about it. Made me feel like a freak. After that, I just stopped trying. Figured it was easier to keep it to myself."
"But you're not keeping it to yourself now."
"No." Louie's smile was tentative but genuine. "I'm not. Because you're not going to make me feel like a freak, are you?"
"Never," Jack said fiercely. "Never."
They talked about what they liked specifically. Louie admitted he loved the smell of worn trainers, the way they held the scent of someone's sweat and effort. Jack confessed he was obsessed with the sight of feet in socks, especially after they'd been worn all day, the fabric clinging to the shape of toes and arches.
"I love the gym for that reason," Louie said, his voice dropping lower. "Everyone's trainers and socks are sweaty. It's like... sensory overload in the best way."
"I know exactly what you mean," Jack said. "Sometimes I can barely concentrate on my workout because I'm too busy noticing everyone's feet."
"Same. And then you showed up, and..." Louie trailed off, his cheeks flushing.
"And what?"
"And I couldn't stop noticing you. Your trainers, your feet, the way you move. It was torture, being that close to you and not being able to do anything about it."
Jack's breath caught. "I felt the same way. Every time you took off your trainers to stretch, every time I saw your feet... I wanted to touch them so badly."
"You can," Louie said softly. "Touch them, I mean. If you want."
Jack's heart stuttered. "Now?"
"If you want," Louie repeated. "No pressure. But we're here, and we're talking about it, and..." He shrugged, trying for casual and missing by a mile. "I wouldn't mind."
Jack looked down at Louie's feet, bare on the hardwood floor. They were beautiful long and strong, with high arches and straight toes. Size thirteen, maybe bigger. The kind of feet Jack had fantasized about for years but never thought he'd actually get to touch.
"Are you sure?" Jack asked, his voice rough.
"I'm sure."
Slowly, carefully, Jack reached out and placed his hand on Louie's foot. The skin was warm and slightly rough, and Jack felt a jolt of electricity run through him at the contact. Louie's breath hitched, and when Jack looked up, his eyes were dark with desire.
"Is this okay?" Jack asked.
"More than okay," Louie said. "Keep going."
Jack ran his hand along the top of Louie's foot, tracing the tendons, the shape of his bones. He explored the arch, the heel, the curve of his ankle. Louie's breathing grew heavier, and Jack felt his own arousal building, his cock hardening in his jeans.
"You have beautiful feet," Jack said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah?" Louie's smile was shaky. "You really think so?"
"I know so."
Jack continued his exploration, growing bolder. He ran his fingers between Louie's toes, felt him shiver at the touch. He pressed his thumb into the arch, massaging gently, and Louie let out a soft moan that went straight to Jack's cock.
"Fuck," Louie breathed. "That feels good."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Jack looked up at him, and the desire in Louie's eyes was unmistakable. They were both breathing hard now, both clearly aroused, the air between them thick with tension.
"Can I..." Jack swallowed hard. "Can I kiss them?"
Louie's eyes widened. "You want to?"
"So badly."
"Then yes. God, yes."
Jack shifted on the sofa, positioning himself so he could reach Louie's feet more easily. He lifted one foot in his hands, cradling it gently, and pressed a soft kiss to the top of it. Louie made a sound half gasp, half moan and Jack felt a surge of confidence.
He kissed Louie's foot again, more firmly this time, then ran his tongue along the arch. Louie's whole body tensed, and Jack heard him whisper, "Oh fuck."
"Is this okay?" Jack asked, pulling back slightly.
"Don't stop," Louie said urgently. "Please don't stop."
Jack didn't stop. He explored Louie's foot with his mouth, kissing and licking, tasting salt and skin. He took Louie's big toe into his mouth and sucked gently, and Louie let out a strangled moan, his hand coming up to cover his mouth.
"You don't have to be quiet," Jack said, looking up at him. "I want to hear you."
"This is..." Louie's voice was wrecked. "This is so much better than I imagined."
"You imagined this?"
"So many times. With you. Your mouth on my feet, your hands..." Louie trailed off, his cheeks flushed.
"Tell me," Jack urged. "Tell me what you imagined."
"I imagined you worshipping my feet after the gym. When they're sweaty and tired. I imagined you taking off my trainers and socks and just... losing yourself in it. In me."
Jack groaned, his cock throbbing. "I want that. I want all of that."
"We could..." Louie hesitated. "We could do that. Next time. After the gym. We could come back here and..."
"Yes," Jack said immediately. "Fuck, yes."
They stared at each other, both of them breathing hard, both clearly desperate for more. Then Louie said, "Come here."
Jack moved up the sofa, and Louie pulled him into a kiss their first kiss, finally, after weeks of wanting. It was hungry and desperate, all the pent-up desire pouring out at once. Louie's hands were in Jack's hair, and Jack's hands were on Louie's waist, pulling him closer.
When they broke apart, both gasping for air, Louie said, "I want to touch you too. Your feet. Can I?"
"Yes. Anything. Whatever you want."
They shifted positions, and Louie knelt on the floor in front of the sofa. Jack's feet were still in his trainers the black Adidas he'd worn to the gym earlier and Louie looked at them with undisguised hunger.
"Can I take these off?" Louie asked.
"Please."
Louie's hands were shaking slightly as he unlaced Jack's trainers. He pulled off the first one slowly, reverently, and Jack watched his face, saw the way his eyes darkened, the way his breath caught.
"Fuck," Louie whispered. "Your socks."
Jack looked down. His socks were black ankle socks, damp with sweat from the gym earlier. They clung to his feet, outlining every contour, and Jack felt a flush of embarrassment mixed with arousal.
"Is that... is that okay?" Jack asked.
"It's perfect," Louie said. "You're perfect."
He pulled off Jack's other trainer, then just sat there for a moment, staring at Jack's feet in their sweaty socks. Then, slowly, he leaned forward and pressed his face against Jack's foot, inhaling deeply.
Jack's whole body went rigid with arousal. "Louie..."
"You smell so good," Louie murmured against his foot. "Like sweat and effort and you."
He kissed Jack's foot through the sock, then ran his tongue along the arch, and Jack let out a moan he couldn't suppress. The sensation was incredible the warmth of Louie's mouth, the slight roughness of his tongue through the fabric, the knowledge that Louie wanted this as much as he did.
"Can I take off your socks?" Louie asked, looking up at him.
"Yes. God, yes."
Louie peeled off Jack's socks slowly, revealing his feet inch by inch. When they were bare, he just looked at them for a moment, his expression almost reverent.
"Size twelve?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"They're beautiful."
Then Louie was kissing them, licking them, taking Jack's toes into his mouth one by one. Jack's head fell back against the sofa, his hands gripping the cushions, overwhelmed by sensation. No one had ever done this to him before. No one had ever wanted to. And now Louie was here, worshipping his feet like they were something precious, and Jack felt like he might come apart from the intensity of it.
"Louie," he gasped. "Fuck, that's..."
"Good?" Louie asked, pulling back slightly.
"So good. So fucking good."
Louie smiled and went back to his task, and Jack lost himself in the pleasure of it. In the warmth of Louie's mouth, the gentle pressure of his hands, the knowledge that this was real, that he'd found someone who understood.
They stayed like that for a long time, exploring each other's feet, learning what made the other gasp and moan. Eventually, they moved to Louie's bedroom, shedding clothes along the way, until they were both naked and desperate.
"I want you," Jack said, his hands on Louie's hips. "All of you."
"You have me," Louie said. "I'm yours."
They came together in a tangle of limbs and desperate kisses. Jack worshipped every inch of Louie's body, his strong thighs, his perfect arse, his thick cockvbut he kept coming back to his feet, unable to get enough. Louie did the same, alternating between kissing Jack's mouth and kissing his feet, like he couldn't decide which he wanted more.
When they finally came back with Louie's toes in his mouth, Louie with his hand wrapped around Jack's cock it was explosive, overwhelming, the most intense orgasm Jack had ever experienced.
Afterward, they lay tangled together in Louie's bed, sweaty and satisfied and slightly dazed.
"That was..." Jack started, then couldn't find the words.
"Yeah," Louie agreed. "It really was."
They were quiet for a moment, then Jack said, "I can't believe this is real. That you're real."
"I'm real." Louie pressed a kiss to Jack's shoulder. "And I'm not going anywhere."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Jack pulled him closer, feeling something settle in his chest. Something that felt like peace, like coming home.
For the first time in his life, he didn't have to hide. Didn't have to be ashamed. Didn't have to pretend to be anything other than exactly who he was.
And Louievbeautiful, understanding, perfect Louievwanted him anyway.
It was more than Jack had ever dared to hope for.
Jack woke to sunlight streaming through unfamiliar windows and the warm weight of another body pressed against his back. For a moment, he was disoriented, unsure where he was. Then memory flooded back Louie's cottage, dinner, the conversation, everything that had happened after and Jack felt his face heat even as his body stirred with renewed desire.
Louie was still asleep, his breathing deep and even, one arm draped over Jack's waist. Jack carefully turned over to face him, taking in the sight of him in the morning light. His hair was mussed, his face relaxed in sleep, and there was a small smile on his lips, like he was having a good dream.
Jack's chest felt too full, too tight with emotion. This was real. This had actually happened. He'd told Louie his deepest secret, and Louie had shared the same secret, and they'd spent the night exploring each other with a freedom Jack had never experienced before.
As if sensing Jack's gaze, Louie's eyes fluttered open. For a moment, he looked confused, then his expression cleared and his smile widened.
"Morning," he said, his voice rough with sleep.
"Morning."
They lay there for a moment, just looking at each other, and Jack felt suddenly shy. In the light of day, with the intensity of last night fading, he wasn't sure what to say, how to act.
"So," Louie said eventually. "That happened."
"Yeah. It did."
"Any regrets?"
"No," Jack said immediately. "None. You?"
"Not even a little bit." Louie's hand found Jack's under the covers, their fingers intertwining. "Last night was... it was everything I've been wanting but didn't think I could have."
"Same."
They were quiet for a moment, then Louie said, "I know this is probably moving fast, but I don't want to pretend this is just a casual thing. I like you, Jack. A lot. And I want to see where this goes."
Jack's heart swelled. "I want that too."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Definitely."
Louie's smile was brilliant. He leaned in and kissed Jack, soft and sweet, and Jack felt something settle in his chest. This was right. This was what he'd been looking for without knowing it.
When they finally got out of bed, it was late morning. They showered together which led to more kissing and touching and Jack on his knees worshipping Louie's feet while water cascaded over them and then made breakfast in Louie's small kitchen, moving around each other with an ease that felt natural, like they'd been doing this for years instead of hours.
"So," Louie said as they sat down to eat. "What do we do now?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean... do we tell people? About us?" Louie's expression was uncertain. "I know Calstock is small, and people talk, and I don't want to make things difficult for you."
Jack considered this. He'd been out for years, but he'd never been in a relationship serious enough to be public about it. The thought of walking through the village with Louie, of people knowing they were together, was both thrilling and terrifying.
"I want to tell people," he said finally. "I'm tired of hiding. But we can take it slow if you want. Feel things out."
"I don't want to hide either," Louie said. "I've done enough of that. But maybe we don't make a big announcement? Just... let people figure it out naturally?"
"That works for me."
They finished breakfast and Jack reluctantly said he should probably head home he had work to catch up on, and he needed clean clothes. Louie walked him to the door, and they stood there for a moment, neither wanting to say goodbye.
"See you Monday?" Louie asked. "At the gym?"
"Definitely. Although..." Jack grinned. "I'm not sure how I'm going to concentrate on working out now. Knowing what comes after."
Louie laughed. "Same problem. But I'm sure we'll manage."
They kissed goodbye a long, lingering kiss that promised more to come and then Jack forced himself to leave, walking home through the village in a daze.
His flat felt empty and quiet after the warmth of Louie's cottage. Jack showered again, changed into clean clothes, and tried to focus on work. But his mind kept drifting back to last night, to the feel of Louie's skin under his hands, the taste of him, the sounds he'd made.
Jack had never felt this way about anyone before. This combination of intense physical attraction and genuine emotional connection. With Louie, he didn't have to choose between the two. He could have both.
His phone buzzed. A text from Louie: Missing you already. Is that pathetic?
Jack smiled and typed back: Not pathetic. I'm missing you too.
What are you doing?
Trying to work. Failing miserably. You?
Same. Can't stop thinking about last night.
Me neither.
There was a pause, then another message: Can I see you tomorrow? I know it's not a gym day, but I don't want to wait until Monday.
Jack's heart leapt. Yes. What did you have in mind?
Dinner? My place again? I'll actually cook something impressive this time.
You don't have to impress me. I'm already impressed.
Good to know. But I want to anyway. 7pm?
Perfect. See you then.
Jack set down his phone, grinning like an idiot. Tomorrow. He'd see Louie tomorrow. And Monday. And every day after that, if he had his way.
For the first time in years, Jack felt like his life was exactly where it was supposed to be.
Sunday dinner at Louie's became a regular thing. So did Wednesday coffee dates, and Friday nights at the pub, and long walks through the valley on weekend mornings. They fell into a rhythm, their lives intertwining with an ease that felt inevitable.
At the gym, they were careful not to be too obvious, no kissing, no overt displays of affection but they didn't hide either. They worked out together, spotted each other, touched each other in ways that could be explained as friendly but felt like so much more. And if people noticed, if they talked, Jack found he didn't care as much as he thought he would.
Mrs. Henderson from the post office definitely noticed. She cornered Jack one afternoon when he was buying stamps and said, with a knowing smile, "That Louie seems like a nice young man. I see you two together quite a bit."
"He is nice," Jack said carefully.
"Good. You deserve someone nice." She patted his hand. "Don't let the gossips bother you. Most of us are just happy to see you happy."
Jack was surprised by how much that meant to him. He'd expected judgment, or at least uncomfortable questions, but instead, he got acceptance. Not from everyone there were a few people who gave him odd looks, who whispered when he walked by but from enough people that it mattered.
Louie had a similar experience. He told Jack one evening, as they lay tangled together in Jack's bed, that Dave from the gym had pulled him aside and said, "About time you two figured it out. The sexual tension was getting ridiculous."
"He said that?" Jack asked, laughing.
"Word for word. Then he told me if I hurt you, he'd ban me from the gym."
"He's protective."
"It's sweet. I like that you have people looking out for you."
"I like that you're one of those people now."
Louie kissed him, slow and deep. "Always."
Their physical relationship deepened too. They explored their shared interests with a freedom that felt revolutionary. After gym sessions, they'd go back to one of their places and indulge in long, intense sessions of foot worship. Jack learned exactly how Louie liked to be touched from pressure on his arches, gentle sucking on his toes, the flat of Jack's tongue along his soles. Louie learned the same about Jack, discovering that he loved having his feet massaged after a long day, loved the sensation of Louie's mouth on his instep, loved the way Louie would sometimes just hold his feet and look at them with undisguised appreciation.
They incorporated their trainers and socks into their play too. Louie would wear his white Nikes all day, letting them get properly sweaty and worn, and then Jack would remove them slowly, reverently, breathing in the scent before worshipping Louie's feet. Jack did the same with his black Adidas, and Louie would bury his face in them, moaning at the smell, before peeling off Jack's socks and exploring his bare feet with his mouth.
It was intense and intimate and exactly what they both needed. The shame they'd carried for years melted away, replaced by acceptance and desire and the knowledge that they weren't alone in this.
But it wasn't just about the fetish. They had sex in all the usual ways toovblow jobs and hand jobs and, eventually, fucking. The first time Louie pushed inside Jack, both of them gasping at the sensation, Jack felt something click into place. This was what he'd been missing. Not just the physical pleasure, but the emotional intimacy, the trust, the feeling of being completely known and accepted.
"I love you," Louie said afterward, his voice rough with emotion. "I know it's fast, but I do. I love you."
Jack's eyes stung with tears. "I love you too."
They held each other in the darkness, and Jack felt a peace he'd never experienced before. This was home. Louie was home.
It was a Friday evening, six weeks after they'd met, when Louie suggested something new.
They were at the gym, finishing up their workout, both of them drenched in sweat. It had been a particularly intense session they'd pushed each other hard, competing in a friendly way that had left them both exhausted and exhilarated.
"I have an idea," Louie said as they cooled down. "For tonight."
"Yeah? What's that?"
"What if..." Louie glanced around, making sure no one was close enough to overhear. "What if we didn't shower here? What if we went straight back to my place, still sweaty from the gym, and..."
He trailed off, but Jack understood immediately. His cock twitched with interest.
"You want to worship each other's feet while we're still sweaty from working out?" Jack asked, his voice low.
"Yeah. I've been thinking about it all week. Your trainers, your socks, your feet all of it damp and warm and smelling like you." Louie's eyes were dark with desire. "I want that. Do you?"
"Fuck yes," Jack said immediately. "Let's go."
They grabbed their bags and practically ran to Louie's cottage. The walk was torture. Jack was hyperaware of his own body, of the sweat cooling on his skin, of his trainers damp and warm around his feet. He could smell himself, that mix of exertion and salt and musk, and he knew Louie could too.
Inside Louie's cottage, they dropped their bags and came together in a desperate kiss. Jack's hands were everywhere Louie's sweat-damp hair, his soaked t-shirt, his arse in those grey joggers. Louie's hands were equally frantic, pulling at Jack's clothes, touching every inch of him he could reach.
"Bedroom," Louie gasped against Jack's mouth. "Now."
They stumbled to the bedroom, shedding clothes as they went. By the time they reached the bed, they were both down to their underwear and trainers, their bodies flushed and sweaty and desperate.
"Lie down," Jack said, his voice rough with desire.
Louie lay back on the bed, and Jack knelt at his feet. Louie's white Nike trainers were dark with sweat, the laces slightly loosened, and Jack could see the damp outline of his socks through the mesh panels.
"Fuck," Jack breathed. "You look so good like this."
"Take them off," Louie said. "Please."
Jack unlaced Louie's trainers slowly, drawing out the anticipation. When he pulled off the first one, the smell hit him immediately sweat and heat and Louie. It was intoxicating. He brought the trainer to his face and inhaled deeply, and Louie let out a strangled moan.
"Jack..."
"You smell amazing," Jack said, his voice thick. "So fucking good."
He set aside the trainer and pulled off the other one, then just looked at Louie's feet in their white ankle socks. They were damp, clinging to every contour, and Jack could see the outline of his toes, the shape of his arches.
"Can I?" Jack asked, his hands hovering over Louie's feet.
"Please."
Jack pressed his face against Louie's socked foot and inhaled. The smell was stronger here pure sweat and effort and skin. He ran his tongue along the arch, tasting salt through the fabric, and Louie's whole body arched off the bed.
"Oh fuck," Louie gasped. "That's... fuck..."
Jack explored both of Louie's feet through his socks, kissing and licking and sucking, until the fabric was soaked with his saliva and Louie was writhing on the bed, his cock hard and leaking in his underwear.
"Take them off," Louie begged. "Please, I need..."
Jack peeled off Louie's socks slowly, revealing his bare feet inch by inch. They were flushed and damp, and when Jack ran his tongue along the sole, Louie let out a sound that was almost a sob.
"You taste so good," Jack murmured against his skin. "So perfect."
He worshipped Louie's feet with single-minded focus, taking his time, exploring every inch. He sucked on his toes, licked between them, kissed his arches and heels and ankles. Louie was a mess above him, his hands fisted in the sheets, his breathing ragged.
"Jack," he finally gasped. "I need... I need to touch you too. Please."
Jack reluctantly pulled back and lay down on the bed. Louie immediately moved to his feet, his hands shaking slightly as he unlaced Jack's black Adidas trainers.
"I've been thinking about this all day," Louie said as he pulled off the first trainer. "About your feet, your socks, the way they'd smell after the gym."
He brought Jack's trainer to his face and inhaled deeply, his eyes fluttering closed. "Fuck, Jack. You smell incredible."
Jack's cock throbbed at the sight of Louie with his face buried in his trainer, clearly lost in the scent. When Louie set it aside and pulled off the other one, Jack was already trembling with anticipation.
Louie pressed his face against Jack's socked foot and moaned. "So good. You're so fucking good."
He explored Jack's feet through his socks the way Jack had done to himvkissing, licking, sucking. The sensation was overwhelming, the warmth of Louie's mouth combined with the slight roughness of the damp fabric. Jack's hands came up to cover his face, trying to muffle the sounds he was making.
"Don't hide," Louie said, pulling back slightly. "I want to hear you. Want to know I'm making you feel good."
"You are," Jack gasped. "So good. So fucking good."
Louie peeled off Jack's socks and immediately took his big toe into his mouth, sucking hard. Jack's back arched off the bed, a moan tearing from his throat. Louie worked his way across all of Jack's toes, then licked along his arches, his heels, every inch of his feet.
"I could do this forever," Louie murmured against Jack's skin. "Just worship your feet for hours."
"Fuck," Jack breathed. "That sounds... yeah. Yes."
But they were both too worked up for hours of slow worship. Jack could see how hard Louie was, could see the wet spot on his underwear where he was leaking. Jack's own cock was throbbing, desperate for attention.
"Come here," Jack said, reaching for Louie.
Louie crawled up his body, and they kissed desperately, tasting each other, tasting sweat and salt and desire. Jack's hands found Louie's arse, squeezing, pulling him closer.
"I want you," Jack said against Louie's mouth. "Want you inside me."
Louie pulled back, his eyes dark with desire but also concern. "Are you sure? We don't have to "
"I'm sure," Jack interrupted. "I want this. Want you. I've been thinking about it for weeks."
Louie's breath hitched. "Me too. God, me too."
They fumbled with the rest of their clothes, laughing when Jack got tangled in his shirt, when Louie nearly fell off the bed trying to kick off his underwear. The laughter felt good, natural, easing some of the nervous tension.
When they were finally naked, they took a moment just to look at each other. Jack had seen Louie shirtless at the gym countless times, but this was different. This was intimate, vulnerable, real.
"You're beautiful," Louie said softly, his hand tracing down Jack's chest, his stomach, his hip.
"So are you," Jack replied, and meant it. Louie was all lean muscle and smooth skin, his cock thick and hard, curving up toward his stomach. Jack wanted to touch him everywhere, taste him everywhere.
"Supplies?" Louie asked, practical even in the midst of desire.
"Bedside drawer," Jack said, gesturing. "Left side."
Louie retrieved lube and condoms, setting them on the bed within easy reach. Then he kissed Jack again, slow and deep, his hands roaming over Jack's body. Jack spread his legs, making room for Louie between them, and the feeling of Louie's weight settling against him was perfect.
"Tell me if anything doesn't feel good," Louie murmured against Jack's neck. "Tell me what you want."
"I will," Jack promised. "I want... I want your fingers first. Want to feel you opening me up."
Louie groaned, his hips jerking involuntarily. "Fuck, the way you talk..."
"You like it?"
"I love it. Love hearing what you want."
Louie slicked his fingers with lube, warming it between his hands before reaching between Jack's legs. The first touch was gentle, exploratory, and Jack sighed at the sensation. Louie circled his hole, pressing lightly, letting Jack get used to the feeling.
"More," Jack breathed. "Please."
Louie pressed one finger inside, slow and careful, watching Jack's face for any sign of discomfort. But there was only pleasure, Jack's eyes fluttering closed, his mouth falling open.
"Good?" Louie asked.
"So good. Keep going."
Louie worked his finger deeper, then began to move it in and out, establishing a rhythm. When Jack was relaxed and open, Louie added a second finger, scissoring them gently, stretching him.
Jack's hands fisted in the sheets. The sensation was intense, overwhelming in the best way. He could feel Louie everywhere his fingers inside him, his other hand on Jack's hip, his mouth pressing kisses to Jack's chest, his stomach.
"You're so tight," Louie murmured. "So hot. Can't wait to be inside you."
"Then don't wait," Jack said, his voice rough. "I'm ready. I want you now."
Louie added a third finger, making sure Jack was thoroughly prepared, then slowly withdrew. Jack watched as Louie rolled on a condom, slicked himself with more lube. The sight of Louie's hand on his own cock, stroking slowly, was almost enough to make Jack come right there.
"Come here," Jack said, reaching for him.
Louie positioned himself between Jack's legs, the head of his cock pressing against Jack's hole. "Ready?"
"Yes. God, yes."
Louie pushed in slowly, giving Jack time to adjust to the stretch, the fullness. It burned a little, but in a good way, and Jack breathed through it, willing his body to relax.
"Okay?" Louie asked, his voice strained with the effort of holding still.
"Okay. Keep going."
Louie pushed in further, inch by inch, until he was fully seated inside Jack. They both groaned at the sensation, at the intimacy of it. Louie's forehead dropped to Jack's shoulder, his breath coming in short gasps.
"You feel incredible," Louie said. "So perfect."
"Move," Jack urged. "Please move."
Louie pulled back slowly, then thrust in again, establishing a gentle rhythm. Jack wrapped his legs around Louie's waist, changing the angle, and they both moaned when Louie's cock hit Jack's prostate.
"There," Jack gasped. "Right there."
Louie adjusted his angle, making sure to hit that spot with every thrust. His pace increased gradually, his hips snapping forward with more force, more urgency. Jack met him thrust for thrust, their bodies moving together in perfect synchronization.
"Touch yourself," Louie said, his voice rough. "Want to see you come."
Jack wrapped his hand around his cock, stroking in time with Louie's thrusts. The dual sensation Louie inside him, his own hand on his cock was almost too much. He could feel his orgasm building, pressure coiling tight in his belly.
"Close," Jack warned. "I'm so close."
"Me too. Come for me, Jack. Want to feel you."
A few more strokes and Jack was coming, his back arching, his hole clenching tight around Louie's cock. He came hard, spilling over his hand and stomach, pleasure washing through him in waves.
The feeling of Jack coming around him pushed Louie over the edge. He thrust deep one last time and came with a shout, his whole body shuddering with the force of it.
They stayed like that for a long moment, both breathing hard, both trembling with aftershocks. Then Louie carefully pulled out and disposed of the condom. He grabbed tissues from the bedside table and cleaned them both up, his touch gentle and tender.
When he was done, he lay down beside Jack and pulled him close. Jack went willingly, tucking his head under Louie's chin, his arm draped across Louie's chest.
"That was..." Jack started, then trailed off, not sure how to put it into words.
"Yeah," Louie agreed. "It really was."
They lay in comfortable silence for a while, just holding each other, listening to each other breathe. Jack felt boneless, sated, happier than he could remember being in a long time.
"Stay the night?" Jack asked quietly.
"I was hoping you'd ask," Louie replied, pressing a kiss to the top of Jack's head.
They eventually got up to clean up properly, then climbed back into bed. Jack set an alarm for the morning they both had work and they settled in together, Jack's back to Louie's chest, Louie's arm wrapped around his waist.
"This is nice," Jack murmured, already half-asleep.
"It really is," Louie agreed.
And it was. It was more than nice. It was perfect.
The next morning, Jack woke to the smell of coffee and the sound of someone moving around in his kitchen. For a moment, he was disoriented, then memory flooded back and he smiled.
Louie.
He got up and pulled on a pair of joggers, then padded out to the kitchen. Louie was there, wearing his underwear and nothing else, making toast.
"Morning," Louie said, looking up with a smile. "Hope you don't mind. I raided your kitchen."
"Not at all," Jack said, coming up behind him and wrapping his arms around his waist. "This is nice. Waking up to you here."
Louie turned in his arms and kissed him. "I could get used to it."
"Me too."
They ate breakfast together, then Louie had to leave to get ready for work. They kissed goodbye at the door, long and lingering, neither wanting to let go.
"See you at the gym later?" Louie asked.
"Definitely."
After Louie left, Jack got ready for work in a daze. He kept touching his lips, remembering Louie's kisses. Kept thinking about the night before, about how right it had felt.
He was falling for Louie. Hard. And the scary part was, he didn't want to stop.
Over the next few weeks, they fell into a rhythm. They'd meet at the gym most evenings, work out together, then go back to one of their flats. Sometimes they'd cook dinner together, sometimes they'd order takeaway. But they always ended up in bed, exploring each other, learning what made the other gasp and moan.
The foot worship became a regular part of their intimacy. Sometimes it was the main event, sometimes it was foreplay. But it was always intense, always intimate.
One evening, about three weeks after their first time together, they were at Louie's flat. They'd just finished a particularly intense workout, and they were both drenched in sweat.
"Shower?" Louie suggested.
"In a minute," Jack said. "Come here first."
Louie raised an eyebrow but came over to where Jack was sitting on the couch. Jack pulled him down to sit beside him, then immediately went for Louie's trainers.
"Jack " Louie started, but Jack cut him off.
"I want to do this while you're still sweaty from the gym. Want to smell you, taste you like this."
Louie's breath caught. "Fuck. Okay. Yeah."
Jack unlaced Louie's trainers slowly, drawing out the anticipation. When he finally pulled the first one off, the smell hit him immediately sweat and musk and something uniquely Louie. It was intoxicating.
He brought the trainer to his face and inhaled deeply, his eyes fluttering closed. "God, Louie. You smell so good."
"That's disgusting," Louie said, but his voice was thick with arousal.
"It's not," Jack insisted. "It's you. And I love it."
He set the trainer aside and moved to Louie's socked foot. The sock was damp with sweat, clinging to Louie's foot. Jack pressed his face against it, breathing in the scent, then ran his tongue along the sole.
Louie groaned, his head falling back against the couch. "Jack. Fuck."
Jack peeled off the sock slowly, revealing Louie's bare foot inch by inch. When it was off, he immediately took Louie's big toe into his mouth, sucking hard. The taste of salt and sweat exploded on his tongue, and he moaned around it.
"You're going to kill me," Louie gasped. "This is too much."
But Jack didn't stop. He worked his way across all of Louie's toes, then licked along his arch, his heel. He paid special attention to the spaces between Louie's toes, where the sweat had collected.
When he was done with that foot, he moved to the other one, repeating the process. By the time he was finished, Louie was a trembling mess, his cock straining against his gym shorts.
"My turn," Louie said, his voice rough.
They switched positions, and Louie gave Jack's feet the same treatment. He worshipped Jack's trainers first, inhaling deeply, running his tongue along the insoles. Then he moved to Jack's socks, pressing his face against them, breathing in Jack's scent.
"I love how you smell after the gym," Louie murmured. "So masculine, so raw."
Jack's cock throbbed at the words. He'd never felt so desired, so wanted.
Louie peeled off Jack's socks and immediately went to work on his bare feet. He licked and sucked and kissed every inch of them, paying special attention to Jack's size 12 feet, which he seemed to find endlessly fascinating.
"Your feet are perfect," Louie said between licks. "So big, so strong. I could worship them for hours."
"Then do it," Jack challenged.
And Louie did. He spent what felt like an eternity on Jack's feet, exploring every inch, learning what made Jack gasp and moan. By the time he was done, Jack was desperate, his cock leaking steadily.
"Bedroom," Jack said. "Now."
They stumbled to the bedroom, shedding clothes as they went. They fell onto the bed together, kissing desperately, their hands roaming over each other's bodies.
This time, Louie was the one who wanted to bottom. Jack prepared him carefully, making sure he was ready, then slid inside him with a groan. The feeling of being inside Louie was incredible tight and hot and perfect.
They moved together, finding their rhythm, their bodies in perfect sync. Jack leaned down to kiss Louie as he thrust, swallowing his moans, tasting his pleasure.
"Harder," Louie urged. "Want to feel you tomorrow."
Jack obliged, his hips snapping forward with more force. The sound of skin slapping against skin filled the room, along with their moans and gasps.
"Touch yourself," Jack said. "Want to see you come."
Louie wrapped his hand around his cock and stroked in time with Jack's thrusts. It didn't take long before he was coming, his hole clenching tight around Jack's cock, his come spilling over his hand and stomach.
The sensation pushed Jack over the edge. He thrust deep one last time and came with a shout, filling the condom, his whole body shuddering.
They collapsed together, both breathing hard, both covered in sweat. Jack carefully pulled out and dealt with the condom, then lay down beside Louie and pulled him close.
"I'm falling for you," Jack said quietly, the words slipping out before he could stop them.
Louie turned to look at him, his eyes soft. "Good. Because I'm falling for you too."
They kissed, slow and sweet, and Jack felt something settle in his chest. Something that felt like contentment, like rightness.
This was real. This was happening. And he wasn't going to let fear or shame ruin it.
A few days later, Louie suggested they go for a walk in the Tamar Valley. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun shining but not too hot, a gentle breeze rustling through the trees.
They drove to one of the trailheads and set off, walking side by side along the path. The valley was stunning rolling hills, dense woodland, the river glinting in the distance. They passed a few other walkers, exchanging friendly nods and hellos.
"I love it here," Louie said after a while. "It's so peaceful. So different from London."
"Do you miss it?" Jack asked. "The city?"
Louie considered this. "Sometimes. I miss the energy, the anonymity. But I don't miss the loneliness. I was surrounded by people all the time, but I felt so alone."
Jack understood that. He'd felt the same way before moving to Calstock.
"What about you?" Louie asked. "Do you ever think about leaving?"
"Not anymore," Jack said honestly. "I used to think about it sometimes, especially when I first moved here. But now... now I have a reason to stay."
Louie looked at him, a smile playing at his lips. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
They walked in comfortable silence for a while, just enjoying the scenery and each other's company. Eventually, they came to a clearing with a bench overlooking the valley. They sat down, and Jack took Louie's hand, lacing their fingers together.
"I need to tell you something," Jack said, his heart pounding.
Louie turned to look at him, concern flickering across his face. "What is it?"
"I'm falling in love with you," Jack said. "Actually, I think I've already fallen. And I know it's fast, and maybe it's too soon to say it, but I can't keep it in anymore. You make me happier than I've been in years. You make me feel like I can be myself, all of myself, without shame or fear. And I just... I needed you to know."
Louie's eyes were shining. "Jack..."
"You don't have to say it back," Jack added quickly. "I just wanted you to know how I feel."
"I love you too," Louie said, his voice thick with emotion. "I've been wanting to say it for weeks, but I was scared. Scared it was too fast, scared you didn't feel the same way. But I do. I love you."
Jack felt like his heart might burst. He leaned in and kissed Louie, pouring all his feelings into it. When they pulled apart, they were both smiling.
"So what does this mean?" Louie asked. "For us?"
"It means we're together," Jack said. "Properly together. Boyfriends, partners, whatever you want to call it. I want to be with you, Louie. I want to build something real with you."
"I want that too," Louie said. "More than anything."
They sat there for a long time, holding hands, looking out over the valley. Jack felt a sense of peace settle over him. This was right. This was where he was meant to be.
"We should probably talk about the practical stuff," Louie said eventually. "Like... are we telling people? Being open about it?"
Jack had been thinking about this. "I want to be open about it. I'm tired of hiding, tired of being ashamed. I know Calstock is a small village, and people might talk, but I don't care. I want to be able to hold your hand in public, kiss you goodbye at the gym, all of it."
"Me too," Louie said. "I'm done hiding. I want everyone to know you're mine."
"Possessive," Jack teased.
"You have no idea," Louie replied with a grin.
They walked back to the car hand in hand, and when they passed other walkers, they didn't let go. A few people gave them curious looks, but most just smiled and nodded. It felt liberating, being open about their relationship.
When they got back to Jack's flat, they celebrated their new status as official boyfriends in the best way they knew how in bed, with lots of kissing and touching and whispered declarations of love.0
Over the next few weeks, their relationship deepened and intensified. They were more confident with each other now, more comfortable expressing their desires.
One evening, they were at Jack's flat after the gym. They'd both had particularly intense workouts, and they were both drenched in sweat.
"I have an idea," Jack said, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Oh?" Louie raised an eyebrow.
"Stay in your gym clothes. Don't shower yet."
Understanding dawned on Louie's face. "You want to...?"
"I want to worship you exactly like this. Sweaty, dirty, fresh from the gym."
Louie's breath hitched. "Fuck. Yes. Okay."
They went to the bedroom, and Jack pushed Louie down onto the bed. He knelt at Louie's feet and slowly unlaced his trainers, drawing out the anticipation. When he pulled the first one off, the smell was overwhelming intense and musky and perfect.
Jack buried his face in the trainer, inhaling deeply. "God, Louie. You smell incredible."
"That's rank," Louie said, but his voice was thick with arousal.
"It's perfect," Jack corrected. He ran his tongue along the inside of the trainer, tasting the salt and sweat that had soaked into the fabric. Louie groaned, his hips jerking involuntarily.
Jack set the trainer aside and moved to Louie's socked foot. The sock was completely soaked with sweat, clinging to Louie's foot like a second skin. Jack pressed his face against it, breathing in the scent, then ran his tongue along the sole.
"Jack," Louie gasped. "That's so dirty."
"I know," Jack said. "And I love it. Love tasting you like this."
He sucked on Louie's toes through the sock, the fabric rough against his tongue. Louie was trembling now, his hands fisted in the sheets, his cock straining against his gym shorts.
Jack peeled off the sock slowly, revealing Louie's bare foot. It was red and damp from the workout, and Jack immediately took Louie's big toe into his mouth, sucking hard. The taste was intense pure salt and sweat and Louie.
He worked his way across all of Louie's toes, then licked along his arch, his heel. He paid special attention to the spaces between Louie's toes, where the sweat had collected. Louie was moaning continuously now, his whole body trembling.
When Jack was done with that foot, he moved to the other one, repeating the process. By the time he was finished, Louie was a complete mess, his cock leaking steadily, his breathing ragged.
"My turn," Louie said, his voice rough. "I want to taste you too."
They switched positions, and Louie gave Jack's feet the same treatment. He worshipped Jack's trainers, inhaling deeply, running his tongue along the insoles. Then he moved to Jack's socks, pressing his face against them, breathing in Jack's scent.
"You smell so good," Louie murmured. "So masculine, so raw. I could get drunk on this."
Jack's cock throbbed at the words. He loved how Louie talked during these moments, how he wasn't afraid to express his desire.
Louie peeled off Jack's socks and immediately went to work on his bare feet. He licked and sucked and kissed every inch of them, his tongue exploring every crevice, every curve. Jack was moaning continuously, his hands tangled in Louie's hair.
"I love your feet," Louie said between licks. "Love how big they are, how strong. Love the way they smell after the gym. I could do this forever."
"Don't stop," Jack gasped. "Please don't stop."
Louie didn't. He spent what felt like an eternity on Jack's feet, worshipping them with his mouth, his hands, his whole body. By the time he was done, Jack was desperate, his cock leaking steadily, his whole body trembling with need.
"Bedroom," Jack said. "Now. I need you inside me."
They stumbled to the bed, shedding their gym clothes as they went. They were both still sweaty, still smelling of the gym, and it made everything more intense, more primal.
Jack prepared himself quickly, too desperate to take his time. Then he straddled Louie and sank down onto his cock with a groan. The feeling of being filled was incredible, and he started moving immediately, riding Louie hard and fast.
"Fuck," Louie gasped, his hands gripping Jack's hips. "You feel so good. So tight."
Jack leaned down to kiss him, tasting himself on Louie's tongue, tasting sweat and salt and desire. They moved together, their bodies slick with sweat, the sound of skin slapping against skin filling the room.
"Touch yourself," Louie urged. "Want to see you come."
Jack wrapped his hand around his cock and stroked in time with his movements. The dual sensation Louie inside him, his own hand on his cock was overwhelming. He could feel his orgasm building, pressure coiling tight in his belly.
"Close," Jack warned. "I'm so close."
"Come for me," Louie said. "Want to feel you."
A few more strokes and Jack was coming, his back arching, his hole clenching tight around Louie's cock. He came hard, spilling over his hand and Louie's stomach, pleasure washing through him in waves.
The feeling of Jack coming around him pushed Louie over the edge. He thrust up hard and came with a shout, his whole body shuddering with the force of it.
Jack collapsed onto Louie's chest, both of them breathing hard, both trembling with aftershocks. They lay like that for a long moment, just holding each other, coming down from the high.
"That was intense," Louie said eventually.
"Yeah," Jack agreed. "It really was."
They eventually got up to shower, washing away the sweat and come. But even in the shower, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. They kissed under the spray, their hands roaming over each other's bodies, and by the time they got out, they were both half-hard again.
"You're insatiable," Louie teased.
"Look who's talking," Jack replied with a grin.
They dried off and climbed into bed, and Jack set his alarm for the morning. They settled in together, Jack's back to Louie's chest, Louie's arm wrapped around his waist.
"I love you," Jack murmured, already half-asleep.
"I love you too," Louie replied, pressing a kiss to the back of Jack's neck.
A few weeks later, they decided to be more open about their relationship in Calstock. They'd been careful at the gym, not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable, but they were tired of hiding.
So one evening, after their workout, they walked out of the gym hand in hand. A few people noticed, and Jack saw some surprised looks, but no one said anything negative. In fact, the gym owner gave them a friendly nod and a smile.
"That wasn't so bad," Louie said as they walked to Jack's car.
"No," Jack agreed. "It wasn't."
They started being more open after that. They held hands when they walked through the village, kissed goodbye in public, went to the local pub together as a couple. Most people were friendly and accepting, and the few who weren't, they ignored.
It felt liberating, being open about their relationship. Jack had spent so long hiding parts of himself, and now he didn't have to anymore. He could be fully himself, and Louie loved him for it.
Their sex life continued to be intense and passionate. They explored their desires more deeply, trying new things, pushing boundaries. They had sex in different locations in the shower, on the couch, once even in Jack's car after a particularly intense gym session.
But it wasn't just about the physical. Their emotional connection deepened too. They talked about their pasts, their fears, their dreams for the future. They learned each other's quirks and habits, the little things that made them who they were.
One evening, about two months into their relationship, they were at Louie's flat. They'd just finished dinner, and they were cuddled up on the couch, watching a film.
"I've been thinking," Louie said during a quiet moment.
"About what?" Jack asked.
"About us. About the future."
Jack's heart skipped a beat. "What about it?"
"I want you to move in with me," Louie said. "Or I could move in with you. I don't care which. I just... I want to wake up next to you every morning. I want to come home to you every evening. I want us to build a life together."
Jack felt tears prick at his eyes. "You mean that?"
"Of course I mean it," Louie said. "I love you, Jack. I want to be with you, properly. No more splitting time between two flats, no more saying goodbye at the end of the night. I want you with me, always."
"I want that too," Jack said, his voice thick with emotion. "More than anything."
They kissed, slow and sweet, and Jack felt something settle in his chest. This was it. This was his future. And it was more beautiful than he'd ever dared to hope.
They decided that Jack would move into Louie's flat, since it was slightly bigger and had a better kitchen. Over the next few weeks, they packed up Jack's things and moved them over. It was a lot of work, but it was also fun, exciting. They were building a life together.
The first night in their shared flat, they christened every room. They had sex in the kitchen, against the counter. They had sex in the living room, on the couch. They had sex in the bathroom, in the shower. And finally, they had sex in their bedroom, in their bed.
"Our bed," Jack said, lying in Louie's arms afterward. "I like the sound of that."
"Me too," Louie agreed.
They settled into domestic life easily. They had their routines morning coffee together, evening workouts at the gym, dinner at home or at the local pub. They had their rituals Sunday morning lie-ins, Friday night film marathons, Saturday walks in the Tamar Valley.
And they had their intimate moments. The foot worship continued to be a regular part of their sex life, but it had evolved. They were more confident now, more comfortable expressing their desires. They'd incorporated it into their daily routine Louie would worship Jack's feet while Jack read the paper in the morning, Jack would worship Louie's feet while they watched TV in the evening.
It wasn't just about sex anymore. It was about intimacy, connection, love. It was about accepting each other fully, without shame or judgment.
One evening, about three months after Jack moved in, they were at the gym. They'd just finished a particularly intense workout, and they were both drenched in sweat. As they were leaving, they ran into a few guys they knew from the village.
"Hey, Jack, Louie," one of them said. "Good workout?"
"Yeah, brutal," Jack replied with a grin.
"You two are always here together," another guy observed. "Training partners?"
"Boyfriends, actually," Louie said, slipping his hand into Jack's.
There was a moment of silence, and Jack held his breath. Then the first guy smiled.
"That's great, mate. Good for you."
The others nodded in agreement, and they chatted for a few more minutes before parting ways. As Jack and Louie walked to the car, Jack felt a surge of pride.
"That felt good," he said.
"It really did," Louie agreed.
They drove home, and as soon as they were through the door, they were on each other. They kissed desperately, their hands roaming over each other's bodies, both still in their sweaty gym clothes.
"Bedroom," Jack gasped. "Now."
They stumbled to the bedroom, shedding clothes as they went. Jack pushed Louie down onto the bed and immediately went for his trainers. He unlaced them slowly, drawing out the anticipation, then pulled them off one by one.
The smell hit him immediately intense and musky and perfect. He buried his face in one of the trainers, inhaling deeply, his cock hardening instantly.
"God, I love how you smell," Jack murmured. "So masculine, so raw."
He set the trainers aside and moved to Louie's socked feet. The socks were completely soaked with sweat, clinging to Louie's feet. Jack pressed his face against them, breathing in the scent, then ran his tongue along the sole of one foot.
Louie groaned, his hips jerking involuntarily. "Jack. Fuck."
Jack peeled off the socks slowly, revealing Louie's bare feet. They were red and damp from the workout, and Jack immediately took Louie's big toe into his mouth, sucking hard. The taste was intense pure salt and sweat and Louie.
He worked his way across all of Louie's toes, then licked along his arches, his heels. He paid special attention to the spaces between Louie's toes, where the sweat had collected. Louie was moaning continuously now, his hands fisted in the sheets.
"I could do this forever," Jack murmured against Louie's skin. "Just worship your feet for hours."
"Please," Louie gasped. "Please, Jack."
Jack knew what Louie was asking for. He moved up Louie's body, kissing his way up his legs, his stomach, his chest. When he reached Louie's mouth, they kissed desperately, tasting each other, tasting sweat and salt and desire.
"I want you," Jack said against Louie's mouth. "Want to feel you inside me."
"Yes," Louie breathed. "God, yes."
They prepared quickly, both too desperate to take their time. Then Louie pushed inside Jack with a groan, and they both stilled for a moment, just feeling the connection, the intimacy.
"I love you," Louie said, his voice rough with emotion.
"I love you too," Jack replied.
They moved together, their bodies in perfect sync, their movements slow and deep. This wasn't frantic or desperate. This was making love, pure and simple.
Jack wrapped his legs around Louie's waist, pulling him deeper, and Louie groaned at the sensation. He leaned down to kiss Jack, swallowing his moans, tasting his pleasure.
"You feel so good," Louie murmured against Jack's mouth. "So perfect."
"So do you," Jack gasped. "So good. Don't stop."
Louie didn't. He kept moving, his thrusts deep and steady, hitting Jack's prostate with every stroke. Jack could feel his orgasm building, pressure coiling tight in his belly.
"Touch yourself," Louie urged. "Want to see you come."
Jack wrapped his hand around his cock and stroked in time with Louie's thrusts. The dual sensation Louie inside him, his own hand on his cock was overwhelming. A few more strokes and he was coming, his back arching, his hole clenching tight around Louie's cock.
The feeling of Jack coming around him pushed Louie over the edge. He thrust deep one last time and came with a shout, his whole body shuddering with the force of it.
They collapsed together, both breathing hard, both trembling with aftershocks. Louie carefully pulled out and dealt with the condom, then lay down beside Jack and pulled him close.
"I love our life," Jack said quietly. "I love what we've built together."
"Me too," Louie agreed. "It's everything I never knew I wanted."
They lay in comfortable silence for a while, just holding each other, listening to each other breathe. Jack felt a sense of contentment settle over him. This was home. Louie was home.
Six months into their relationship, they were more in love than ever. They'd settled into their life together, and it felt natural, easy, right.
One Saturday morning, they were lying in bed, enjoying a lazy lie-in. The sun was streaming through the windows, painting everything gold. Jack was on his back, and Louie was lying beside him, his head on Jack's chest.
"I have something to tell you," Louie said quietly.
Jack's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"
"I've been offered a promotion at work. It's a good opportunity, more money, more responsibility."
"That's great," Jack said, though he was confused about why Louie sounded so serious. "Isn't it?"
"It is," Louie agreed. "But it would mean traveling more. Being away from home a few days a month."
Jack understood now. "And you're worried about how that would affect us?"
"Yeah," Louie admitted. "I don't want to be away from you. But it's a good opportunity, and I don't want to turn it down without at least discussing it with you."
Jack thought about this. He didn't like the idea of Louie being away, but he also didn't want to hold him back.
"Take the promotion," Jack said. "We'll make it work. A few days a month isn't that much, and we can video call, text, all of that. And when you come home, we'll make up for lost time."
Louie looked up at him, his eyes shining. "You mean that?"
"Of course I mean it," Jack said. "I love you, and I want you to be happy. If this promotion makes you happy, then you should take it."
"I love you so much," Louie said, his voice thick with emotion.
They kissed, slow and sweet, and Jack felt that familiar sense of rightness settle over him. They would make this work. They would make anything work, as long as they were together.
Louie took the promotion, and true to his word, he was only away a few days a month. They made it work. They video called every evening when Louie was away, and they texted throughout the day. And when Louie came home, they made up for lost time in the best way they knew how.
One evening, Louie came home from a three-day trip. Jack picked him up from the train station, and they kissed in the car park, not caring who saw.
"I missed you," Louie said against Jack's mouth.
"I missed you too," Jack replied. "Let's go home."
They drove home, and as soon as they were through the door, they were on each other. They kissed desperately, their hands roaming over each other's bodies, both desperate to reconnect.
"Bedroom," Louie gasped. "Now."
They stumbled to the bedroom, shedding clothes as they went. They fell onto the bed together, and Jack immediately went for Louie's feet. He'd been wearing his work shoes all day, and Jack could smell them from across the room.
He unlaced Louie's shoes slowly, drawing out the anticipation, then pulled them off one by one. The smell was incredible leather and sweat and Louie. Jack buried his face in one of the shoes, inhaling deeply.
"God, I missed this," Jack murmured. "Missed you."
He set the shoes aside and moved to Louie's socked feet. The socks were thin dress socks, and Jack could see the outline of Louie's toes through the fabric. He pressed his face against them, breathing in the scent, then ran his tongue along the sole.
Louie groaned, his hips jerking involuntarily. "Jack. I need you."
"I know," Jack said. "I need you too."
He peeled off Louie's socks and immediately took his big toe into his mouth, sucking hard. Louie moaned, his hands tangling in Jack's hair. Jack worked his way across all of Louie's toes, then licked along his arches, his heels.
"I love your feet," Jack murmured against Louie's skin. "Love worshipping them, love tasting you."
"I love it too," Louie gasped. "Love the way you make me feel."
Jack moved up Louie's body, kissing his way up his legs, his stomach, his chest. When he reached Louie's mouth, they kissed desperately, tasting each other, reconnecting after days apart.
"I want you inside me," Jack said against Louie's mouth. "Want to feel you."
"Yes," Louie breathed. "God, yes."
They prepared quickly, both too desperate to take their time. Then Louie pushed inside Jack with a groan, and they both stilled for a moment, just feeling the connection, the intimacy.
"I missed this," Louie said, his voice rough. "Missed you, missed us."
"Me too," Jack gasped. "So much."
They moved together, their bodies in perfect sync, their movements urgent and desperate. This was about reconnecting, about reminding each other of what they had, what they meant to each other.
Louie thrust hard and deep, hitting Jack's prostate with every stroke. Jack wrapped his legs around Louie's waist, pulling him deeper, and they both groaned at the sensation.
"Touch yourself," Louie urged. "Want to see you come."
Jack wrapped his hand around his cock and stroked in time with Louie's thrusts. The dual sensation was overwhelming, and it didn't take long before he was coming, his back arching, his hole clenching tight around Louie's cock.
The feeling of Jack coming around him pushed Louie over the edge. He thrust deep one last time and came with a shout, his whole body shuddering.
They collapsed together, both breathing hard, both trembling. Louie carefully pulled out and dealt with the condom, then lay down beside Jack and pulled him close.
"I hate being away from you," Louie said quietly.
"I know," Jack replied. "But we make it work. And when you come home, it's always like this. Always intense, always perfect."
"It is," Louie agreed. "You're worth it. We're worth it."
They lay in comfortable silence for a while, just holding each other. Jack felt that familiar sense of contentment settle over him. This was his life now. This was his future. And it was more beautiful than he'd ever dared to hope.
A year into their relationship, they were stronger than ever. They'd weathered Louie's work trips, the occasional argument, the ups and downs of daily life. And through it all, their love had only grown deeper.
One evening, they were at the local pub with some friends from the village. It was a Friday night, and the pub was busy, filled with locals enjoying the end of the work week.
Jack and Louie were sitting at a table with a few guys from the gym, chatting and laughing. At one point, Louie reached over and took Jack's hand, lacing their fingers together. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant everything.
One of the guys noticed and smiled. "You two are good together," he said. "It's nice to see."
"Thanks," Jack said, squeezing Louie's hand. "We think so too."
Later, as they were walking home, Jack felt a surge of gratitude. A year ago, he'd been alone, hiding parts of himself, ashamed of his desires. Now he had Louie, and he had a life he loved, and he didn't have to hide anymore.
"What are you thinking about?" Louie asked, noticing Jack's thoughtful expression.
"Just how lucky I am," Jack said. "How lucky we are."
"We really are," Louie agreed.
When they got home, they made love slowly, tenderly, taking their time to explore each other, to savor every touch, every kiss. And afterward, lying in each other's arms, Jack felt a sense of peace settle over him.
This was home. This was love. This was everything.
EPILOGUE
Two years after they first met, Jack and Louie were still going strong. They'd moved into a bigger flat together, one with a spare room they'd turned into a home gym. They still went to the local gym most evenings, but they also enjoyed working out at home, where they could be as loud and uninhibited as they wanted.
Their relationship had evolved and deepened. The foot worship was still a regular part of their sex life, but it had become more integrated, more natural. It wasn't something they did separately from sex it was part of their intimacy, part of how they expressed their love for each other.
They were open about their relationship in Calstock now. Everyone knew they were together, and most people were supportive. They held hands in public, kissed goodbye at the gym, went to the pub together as a couple. They were just Jack and Louie, the couple who lived on the high street, who worked out at the gym every evening, who were clearly in love.
One Saturday morning, they were lying in bed, enjoying a lazy lie-in. The sun was streaming through the windows, and Jack was on his back, Louie's head on his chest.
"I've been thinking," Louie said quietly.
"About what?" Jack asked, running his fingers through Louie's hair.
"About us. About the future."
Jack's heart skipped a beat. "What about it?"
Louie sat up and looked at Jack, his expression serious. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to marry you, if you'll have me."
Jack felt tears prick at his eyes. "Are you proposing?"
"I am," Louie said. "I don't have a ring yet I wanted to ask you first, make sure you wanted this too. But yes, I'm proposing. Will you marry me, Jack?"
"Yes," Jack said, his voice thick with emotion. "God, yes. Of course I'll marry you."
They kissed, and Jack felt like his heart might burst with happiness. This was it. This was his future. And it was more beautiful than he'd ever dared to hope.
They spent the rest of the morning in bed, making love slowly, tenderly, celebrating their engagement. And afterward, lying in each other's arms, Jack felt a sense of completeness settle over him.
He'd found his person. He'd found his home. And he'd found acceptance not just from Louie, but from himself.
The shame he'd carried for so long was gone, replaced by pride and love and joy. He could be fully himself, all of himself, without fear or judgment. And Louie loved him for it, all of it.
This was what happiness felt like. This was what love felt like. And Jack was never letting it go.
They got married six months later, in a small ceremony in the Tamar Valley. It was just close friends and family, and it was perfect. They exchanged vows under a canopy of trees, promising to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives.
At the reception, they danced together, not caring who was watching. They kissed in front of everyone, and Jack felt a surge of pride. This was his husband. This was his life. And he was so, so grateful.
That night, in their hotel room, they made love as husbands for the first time. It was intense and passionate and tender, and Jack felt like the luckiest man in the world.
"I love you," he said against Louie's mouth. "My husband."
"I love you too," Louie replied. "My husband."
They fell asleep in each other's arms, and Jack dreamed of their future together. Of growing old together, of building a life together, of loving each other through all the ups and downs that life would bring.
He'd found his person. He'd found his home. And he was never letting go.
This was forever. This was love. This was everything.
The End
