I awaited the first rays of the golden, morning sun under a canopy of budding trees that watched my curiosity sweep the ground silently without disturbance. Only the birds of the night, unseen in their woodland spires, could have heard the rhythm of my step. My soul was aching with anticipation to discover something unlike anything else that is undistinguishable from the unfathomable. What transpired in that ravine amongst the shadows before dawn echoes continuously in the firmanent of my psyche.

The night before was quiet in the city above. Nothing I encountered soothed my yearning besides a particular passerby who also teased my ambition for great things. We briefly met eachothers eyes on the edge of the city's streets where there are stairs down a steep hill. There, ashphalt ended and gave way to the living forest and stream hidden down below. The stranger had a friendly, caretaking disposition from what first glance could say. All he had to cover his beautiful form was a pair of purple shorts.

I was naturally mystified and greatly aroused. Regardless, all I could do was share with him a split moment in which our souls gazed into one another. I don't know what his name might have been, where he was going, or what he must have thought of me. Soon enough it was not important to me, for I found in the ravine exactly what I was searching for.

I am always prepared wherever I go in nature or in the city. I carried with me a backpack with a snack, water, a book, and tools of convenience and for writing. I also carried a box containing a cast iron pan, some sweet dried herbs, matches, some charms, a terminated quartz crystal wrapped in black cotton material. a polished sardonyx wrapped in red, and a bluish-green amber wrapped in black. My pockets had some change, my wallet, and a small knife.

At the bottom of the stairs was a bench upon which I sat and contemplated my heart's desire, hoping it's a match to my destiny. I carved into the wood beside me the symbol of infinite with an arrow stemming from where the lines meet in the middle. I could here the stream somewhere in the distance trickling through rocks and decided to follow the delightful sound. The sky was darkening fast and I was losing the visibility of the day as I went deeper. I felt a sense of fear like giant hands pressing on my shoulders but was quick to address it, "Why so scared?" I laughed.

"PerHaps I need to show you How vulnerable I Am willing to be."
