Fleshlight Room in Bangkok

Derek is alone in Bangkok, killing time before dinner. A discreet adult shop on Sukhumvit. No one knows him here. He steps inside. An American walks in right after him. A smiling saleswoman leads them to a purple-lit back room. Eight machines lined up on a steel counter. “Pull everything down to the knees,” she says.

It's the kind of thing you only do far from home. In a city where nobody knows you, where you have no reputation to protect, where the streets are so noisy and chaotic that your own thoughts are drowned out by the din of tuk-tuks and street vendors. Bangkok does that. Bangkok dissolves the barriers we've spent years building. Just forty-eight hours in this city is enough to feel your certainties melt like ice in a glass of Chang beer.

I'm thirty-one years old, my name is Derek. I've been traveling alone in Thailand for ten days—Chiang Mai first, then the islands, and now Bangkok to finish. Two weeks of complete solo travel, total freedom, that particular luxury of not having to explain yourself to anyone. I'm staying in a small hotel in Sukhumvit, Soi 11, a neighborhood where neon bars stand alongside Buddhist temples, where traditional massage parlors and erotic salons face each other across the same street. Everything coexists here without judgment. That's what makes Bangkok so dangerous for a guy like me—someone curious, usually reserved, who's never crossed certain thresholds simply because at home, you don't cross those thresholds.

Tonight, I'm meeting up with some friends at 9 p.m.—a group of French expats I got in touch with through a mutual friend. Dinner on a rooftop, beers, the usual routine of a traveler socializing. It's 4 p.m., I spent the afternoon reading by the hotel pool, and I have three hours to kill. Three hours during which no one knows where I am, what I'm doing, or who I'm with.

I'd spotted the shop the day before on my way home from a bar. A discreet storefront for the neighborhood—no flashing neon lights, no touts. Just a tinted window with mannequins in lingerie and a black curtain serving as a door. A discreet sign: "Fantasy World — Adult Shop." I walked past without stopping, but I turned my head. The next morning, on my way to breakfast, I walked past it again. In the afternoon, on my way back from the pool, once more. Three times, three times the same sidelong glance, three times the same question: what if I went in?

I've never set foot in a sex shop. Never. Not out of morality, not out of disgust—out of shyness, out of fear of being judged, out of that vague shame you feel when you approach your own curiosities. In Europe, the idea of pushing open the door of an erotic shop, of bumping into a colleague or a neighbor, of catching someone's eye behind the counter—all of that was enough to paralyze me. But here, nine thousand kilometers from my apartment, in a neighborhood where tourists blend into anonymity like drops in the ocean, the equation was different. Nobody knows me. I'm alone. I'm going to do it.

I took a shower, slipped into a pair of raw denim jeans—a dark, slim-fit Levi's 511 that hugged my thighs—a simple white t-shirt, and white sneakers. Underneath, I wore red Calvin Klein trunks that I'd bought before the trip. The red was a subconscious choice—or maybe not. The kind of underwear you put on when you feel the day might take an unexpected turn. I checked my reflection in the bathroom mirror. Clean. Normal. A thirty-one-year-old guy leaving his hotel at five o'clock, nothing suspicious.

Outside, the Bangkok heat hit me like a slap. Thirty-five degrees, crushing humidity, the air thick with the smell of frying food and exhaust fumes. I walked back up the soi for fifty meters, past a massage parlor, a 7-Eleven, a kebab vendor. And I stopped in front of the shop window.

The black curtain swayed slightly in the air conditioning that wafted from inside. I inhaled. I parted the fabric and stepped inside.

The interior was larger than I'd imagined. The air conditioning was blasting—a stark contrast to the sweltering heat outside. The lighting was dim, purple and red spotlights giving the space a club-like atmosphere. To the left, shelves were piled high with lingerie, costumes, and vinyl outfits. To the right, glass-fronted shelves were filled with toys—vibrators, dildos of all sizes, rings, plugs, objects whose purpose I didn't even know. In the back, behind a glass counter, sat a woman.

She was in her fifties, maybe older. Petite, plump, with a round, smiling face, her dark hair tied back in a bun. She wore a purple polo shirt with the store's logo embroidered on the chest. Nothing provocative, nothing scandalous. She looked like a shopkeeper who ran a fabric store or a souvenir shop. She watched me come in with a professional smile and a nod.

“Welcome, sir. Take your time. »

I nodded back and started wandering around, hands in my pockets, with the feigned nonchalance of a guy pretending to know what he's looking for. My heart was pounding. I looked at the shelves the way you look at paintings in a museum—with detached, feigned curiosity, trying not to linger too long on anything. A small toy, something discreet I could buy, pack in my suitcase, and try out alone in my hotel room. That's all I wanted. A quick, hassle-free purchase.

I was examining a display of cock rings — silicone rings of various sizes, presented on illustrated cards — when the black curtain moved behind me. Someone else was entering.

I instinctively moved aside, like you do in a supermarket aisle. The man who had just entered was American—I knew it before he even opened his mouth. A college football player's physique, broad-shouldered, about six foot one, 200 pounds of compact muscle that was starting to thicken around the waist without losing its definition. He was wearing beige linen shorts that fell above the knee, a navy blue Ralph Lauren polo shirt, and brown Birkenstocks. Tanned, with short brown hair, a few days' growth of beard, and light eyes. The kind of guy who plays flag football on Sundays and drinks IPAs afterward. Early thirties, like me.

He scanned the store, saw me, gave me a nod — that universal greeting between guys who meet in an awkward place and which means "I'm not judging you, don't judge me" — then headed towards the saleswoman.

“Hey, hey. I'm looking for something for my girlfriend. Like, lingerie, something sexy. We're on vacation and, uh, I want to surprise her. »

His voice was loud, open, typically American. He spoke with that surface-level ease Americans have in social situations—friendly, direct—but I sensed the nervousness underneath. His fingers tapped the counter.

The saleswoman's face lit up. She stepped out from behind her counter—she was even shorter standing up, barely five foot one—and led him toward the lingerie section. I could hear her voice behind me as I pretended to be interested in the cock rings.

“This one is very popular. Thai silk. Your girlfriend, what size? This one, very sexy, men love. You want matching set? »

The American responded with polite "yeah, sure" and "that's nice." They spent a few minutes selecting items, he becoming increasingly at ease, she increasingly enthusiastic. Then her voice changed register—lower, more confidential, but still audible in the air-conditioned silence of the store.

“And you, sir — you have a Fleshlight?” »

Silence. I looked up from my display stand.

"A what?" asked the American.

“Fleshlight.” For men. Very popular. New models, just arrived. Bestseller in Thailand. You know? »

He gave a nervous laugh. “I mean, I've heard of them, but I've never, uh... no. I don't have one. »

“We have new models, we promote. And also demo models, if you want to try. Very popular with tourists. »

I saw the American turn his head toward me—a reflex, as if seeking confirmation from another man in the room that this conversation was indeed real. Our eyes met for a second. I looked away.

“Try?” Like, try it here? In the store? »

“Yes. We have a room in the back. Many customers try before buying. Very normal here. New technology, automatic, very good feeling. Better to try first. »

The American shook his head and laughed. "Nah, I'm good. That's, uh... that's a lot."

But he didn't move. He remained standing in front of the counter, his eyes fixed on the models the saleswoman had taken from a display case—cylinders of white and transparent plastic, in various sizes, some with visible textures inside, others with openings that mimicked anatomical shapes. Premium boxes, special editions. The prices were displayed—three thousand baht, four thousand five hundred. She opened one, turned it over to show the inside—the ribs, the channels, the pale pink silicone texture.

I moved closer. Not deliberately—or maybe I was. Curiosity drew me to the counter like a magnet. I'd seen these things online before, obviously. What guy hasn't clicked on an ad, watched a video, read a review? But seeing one in real life, actually seeing it, that was something else.

The American saw me arrive next to him. And something relaxed in his face — that instant complicity between two strangers caught in the same embarrassing situation.

“Dude, can you believe this?” She's trying to sell me a Fleshlight. In Bangkok. It's Tuesday afternoon. »

I laughed. "I heard."

"Have you ever used one?"

"Never."

“Me neither, man. But look at this thing. It's like... NASA made a sex toy. »

The saleswoman jumped at the opening. “This one, automatic. Motor inside. Different speeds, different patterns. And this one —” she pointed to a more elaborate model — “with warming system. Feels like real body temperature. Very very good. Many customers, they cry. »

The American burst out laughing. "They CRY?"

“From pleasure, sir. From pleasure. »

He looked at me, his eyes shining with a mixture of embarrassment and excitement. "OK. I'm—I mean, I'm not going to try this in a sex shop in Bangkok. Right? That's insane."

"It is," I confirmed.

“But also... when am I ever going to get this chance again? Like, at home, I would never. But here..."

The saleswoman felt the breach. She leaned forward, her voice soft, almost motherly. “Sir, the room is private. Clean. I explain everything. No rush. Promotion today — you try, you buy at half price. Very good deal. Many men, first time, they come back next day to buy two, three. »

The American ran his hand over the back of his neck, that universal gesture of a man who hesitates. Then he looked at me.

“Fuck it.” Why not. When in Bangkok, right? »

He turned to the saleswoman. "OK. Show me this room."

She nodded with a satisfied smile and led him to the back of the store. A black curtain—yet another one—separated the shop from a narrow corridor. They disappeared behind it. I remained alone in the store, my heart pounding, my hands sweating, staring at the Fleshlights displayed on the counter.

Twenty seconds later, I heard his voice from the back room.

"Holy shit. What the—"

Laughter. Stupefaction. Then the saleswoman's voice, calm, explanatory, too far away for me to distinguish the words.

I pretended to look at something else. A shelf of lubricant. A display of condoms. But my ears were glued to the back of the store. I could hear snippets — “automatic”, “position yourself here”, “this button controls speed”.

The curtain parted. The American reappeared, his face red, with a childlike smile.

“Bro. You have to see this. Come back here for a second. »

"I don't know, man..."

“Dude, just come see.” It's insane. There's like eight of these things lined up on a counter. I thought it was going to be, like, a private booth. It's not. It's just... there. Like a tasting bar. For dicks. »

I laughed in spite of myself. And something about his energy—that raw American candor, that lack of filter, that way of transforming awkwardness into a shared adventure—moved me. I walked around the counter and followed him behind the curtain.

The hallway was short—two meters, lit by a mauve fluorescent tube. It opened onto a room larger than I'd imagined. Eight square meters, perhaps. No window. Walls painted matte black. Ambient lighting—dim, purple LEDs recessed into the ceiling, giving the room the feel of a private club. The floor was tiled, clean, with a slight slope toward a drain in the center—a detail whose purpose I would later understand.

In the center of the room, a low counter—about the height of a coffee table, perhaps seventy centimeters—made of brushed stainless steel, was fixed to the floor. On it, lined up like taps in a tasting room, were eight Fleshlights mounted on vertical metal rods. Each device was fixed at hip height, angled at approximately forty-five degrees, with its opening facing you. Some were transparent—you could see the internal textures, the veins, the channels. Others were opaque, black or flesh-colored. Each had a small control box at its base with buttons—speed, intensity, mode. Cables ran along the counter, connected to a shared power supply. Next to each device were a bottle of lubricant and a roll of toilet paper.

The American stood in front of the counter, hands on hips, and looked at the installation with a mixture of fascination and disbelief.

“I mean... this is the most insane thing I've ever seen in my life. »

The saleswoman joined us. She was now speaking with the confidence of a tour guide presenting a monument.

“This one, basic model. Good for beginners. This one, rotating. This one, suction mode — very popular. This one, heating plus vibration. Top model. »

She pressed a button. The device switched on — a low hum, a visible vibration. The silicone opening pulsed slightly, contracting and releasing in a rhythmic movement that left no doubt as to its function.

The American and I exchanged a glance. This silent conversation between two men facing something they've never done but secretly want to do.

“OK,” said the American. “So, how does this work?” You just... you just put it in? Standing here? »

“Yes, sir. You stand in front. You pull down your pants. You apply lubricant. Then insert. The machine does the rest. You can adjust the speed and the pattern. »

“Standing here. Like... at the counter. No booth. No curtain. »

“No curtain, sir. Many men try together. Friends, groups. Very normal. More fun together, actually. »

The American turned to me. “You want to... I mean, listen. We're two guys. We don't know each other. We're in a sex shop in Bangkok. This is already the craziest thing either of us has ever done. Do you want to do this with me? Because I'm not doing it alone with her watching. »

I felt my pulse quicken. Every fiber of my upbringing, my modesty, my habits screamed at me to refuse. But another voice, older, deeper — the one that had driven me into that store, the one that had made me cross half the globe alone — that voice was saying something else.

"OK. Let's do it."

He held out his hand to me. “I’m Tyler, by the way. From Ohio. »

"Derek. France."

“French?” No shit. All right, Derek from France. Let's try some Fleshlights in Bangkok. »

We shook hands, laughing. That nervous, vibrant laughter of men who know they are about to do something absurd and transgressive, and who transform terror into complicity.

The saleswoman positioned us in front of the counter, side by side, about twenty centimeters apart. She indicated a device to each of us — the heating and vibration model for Tyler, the rotation and suction model for me.

“Okay, gentlemen. Now you need to undress from the waist. Pull everything down. »

Tyler exhaled a long breath. "Here we go."

He undid the drawstring of his linen shorts. The fabric fell to his ankles—and a pair of black Calvin Klein boxer shorts appeared. Classic waistband, black elastic waistband with the logo in white lettering. The exact same model as mine, except for the color. The cotton clung to his thick thighs, his well-endowed crotch, the curve of his footballer's buttocks. He had massive, slightly hairy, tanned legs.

I undid my belt and unbuttoned my jeans. The Levi's were tight—I had to push them down on my hips to get them off. And my red Calvin Klein boxer shorts appeared.

Tyler looked down. "Dude. Same brand."

I looked. He was in black, I was in red. The exact same model—Calvin Klein trunks, identical elastic waistband, same cut. Two strangers in a Bangkok sex shop wearing the same underwear. The absurdity of the coincidence made us burst out laughing.

"Calvin Klein gang," Tyler said, raising his fist.

I bumped my fist against his. "Calvin Klein gang."

The saleswoman didn't laugh. She had switched into operational mode.

“Okay. Now everything down. To the knees is enough. »

The laughter died away. The silence of the purple room returned. We stood side by side in front of the stainless steel counter, in Calvin Klein boxers, feet in our sagging shorts and jeans, and we knew what was coming next.

Tyler took the initiative. “Fuck it.” »

He slipped his thumbs under the black elastic and pulled them down. In one swift motion. Without hesitation. The boxer shorts slid down his thighs, stopping just above his knees, and his penis appeared—free from the cotton, dangling in front of him in the violet light. It was the first time I'd ever seen another man's penis in real life, so close up, in a setting other than the college locker room where no one looks. My brain registered it involuntarily: thick at rest, circumcised, the skin smooth and slightly darker than the rest of his body, a short, light brown pubic hair above, and his balls hanging down below, hairless, shaved—the skin smooth and taut. A nice piece, as we say among guys, even if we never say it out loud.

He looked at me. Not his genitals—his eyes. "Your turn, bro."

I pulled down the red boxer shorts. The fabric slid down my hips, freeing my cock. It fell to its flaccid end in front of me—about the same size as Tyler's, which crossed my mind with absurd relief. Slightly curved, uncircumcised, the foreskin covering the glans at rest. My pubic hair, dark brown, trimmed short too, my balls neatly trimmed underneath. There we were. Two guys in their thirties, cocks out, side by side, in front of a Fleshlights counter in a sex shop on Sukhumvit Road.

Tyler looked down at our two penises, side by side, and let out an incredulous laugh. "Dude. This is actually happening."

“This is actually happening. »

The saleswoman stood next to Tyler. "OK sir, I'll help you position. May I touch?"

Tyler hesitated for a fraction of a second. "Uh... yeah. OK. Go ahead."

She took the bottle of lubricant, poured a generous amount onto her fingers, and then—with the ease of a nurse inserting an IV—she grasped Tyler's penis between them. He flinched. She spread the gel along the entire length of his shaft, from base to glans, with slow, circular, professional—but not innocent—movements. Her fingers lingered, pressed, stimulated. The reaction was immediate. Tyler's penis began to swell in her hand, to increase in size, to stand erect. Within ten seconds, he was semi-erect—his shaft thickened, heavy, pointing forward.

Tyler laughed nervously. “Okay, that's, uh... that's doing something. »

The saleswoman smiled, satisfied. She continued to caress and stimulate him until his erection was sufficient. Then, with a practiced movement, she guided Tyler's penis to the opening of the Fleshlight, aligned the head with the silicone inlet, and gently pushed it inside. Tyler let out a breath—a deep, guttural, involuntary sigh.

"Oh, fuck."

She pushed the device in halfway, adjusted the angle of the metal rod, and checked the positioning. Then she turned towards me.

"Your turn, sir."

Her fingers were warm from the gel and Tyler's heat when they closed around my cock. The contact electrified me—not because it was erotic in itself, but because everything was erotic: the room, the light, the nudity, Tyler eight inches away from me, his penis in a machine, and now this woman taking hold of me with the same quiet assurance. She lubricated my cock from base to glans, her short, firm fingers working the gel into every fold, massaging the frenulum, moving up to the glans with a pressure that sent a jolt through my lower abdomen. My penis responded instantly—hardening in her palm, blood rushing in, skin tightening. Within seconds, I was hard. Completely hard, my cock erect in the hand of a fifty-year-old Thai woman, next to an American I'd known for fifteen minutes.

She guided my cock toward the Fleshlight. The silicone opening parted around my glans—warm, lubricated, incredibly soft. She pushed. My penis slid inside the tunnel, and the sensation took my breath away. A warm, moist sheath that molded to every millimeter of my cock, the internal ridges massaging the skin with a precision I wouldn't have thought possible. It wasn't like a hand. It wasn't like anything I'd ever experienced. It was something else entirely—a total, enveloping sensation that took over my entire penis at once, from base to glans.

"Now," said the saleswoman, "I turn on."

She pressed both buttons simultaneously.

The machines started up.

Tyler's Fleshlight began to vibrate and heat up. Mine started rotating—the internal tunnel slowly twisted around my cock while exerting a pulsating suction, like a mouth sucking and releasing in rhythm. The sensation was so intense, so unexpected, that my knees buckled. I placed my hands flat on the stainless steel countertop for balance.

Tyler did the same thing. Hands on his hips first, then on the counter, fingers spread, body tense. "Oh my god. Oh my—this is—"

"Fuck," I blurted out in French, before catching myself. "This is insane."

The saleswoman watched us from the side of the room, arms crossed, a peaceful smile on her face. As if she were watching two customers try on shoes.

“I increase speed now, OK? »

She didn't wait for the answer. The two machines accelerated. The rotating tunnel around my tail increased its cadence, the suction intensified, and a warm liquid — lubricant heated automatically by the machine — began to flow inside, creating total glide, zero friction, a sensation of enveloping wetness that mimicked something terrifyingly realistic.

Tyler leaned forward, his forehead almost on the counter. "Dude. I can't — this is too good. I'm not going to last."

"Same," I breathed.

We no longer looked at each other with embarrassment. We no longer laughed. We were two men standing there, our trousers and boxers around our knees, our penises buried in a machine that masturbated us with terrifying mechanical precision, and the only thing that existed in the universe was this sensation. Everything else—Bangkok, the sex shop, the saleswoman, our respective lives—had ceased to exist. There was only the raw, animalistic pleasure rising within us.

Tyler sat up. He arched his back, hands still on his hips, jaw clenched. I saw his abs tighten beneath his rolled-up polo shirt, his thighs trembling slightly. His penis, inserted into the device, was invisible—but the casing was clearly vibrating, the sound of the motor changing pitch as his penis responded to the stimulation.

"What speed are you on?" he asked me, his voice hoarse.

"I don't know. Five?"

“She put me on seven. I'm going to die. »

I laughed — a laugh that turned into a moan when the machine changed programs. The tunnel reversed its rotation, the suction motion transformed into rapid pulsations, and my glans was caught in a wave of concentrated vibrations that made me clench my teeth.

“Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck—”

The saleswoman approached. She adjusted something on Tyler's device—an angle, a tilt. Then on mine. Her hands passed near our genitals with the same indifference as a mechanic tuning an engine.

"You close?" she asked.

Tyler nodded violently. Me too.

“Let’s go.” Don't hold back. Machine will take everything. »

Tyler came first. I heard the change in his breathing—short, ragged, then a complete halt, a second of silence, and a deep, guttural groan that came from his gut. His body arched like a bow—shoulders back, pelvis pressed against the counter, hands gripping the stainless steel edge. I saw his thighs contract, his buttocks tighten, his whole body stiffen in a spasm that lasted five, six seconds. The machine kept spinning, sucking, vibrating around his cock as he ejaculated inside—I couldn't see anything, but I heard the wet, liquid sound of his orgasm in the silicone.

The image finished me off. Tyler coming next to me, his voice, his taut body, the sound of his cock in the machine—it all blended with my own build-up, and I came too. The orgasm rose from the base of my cock, traveled through my lower abdomen, and exploded. I ejaculated into the Fleshlight with a force I'd never felt before—long, powerful jets that shot out of me as if someone had opened a valve. The machine kept running, sucking up each jet, massaging my hypersensitive glans as I released everything I had. My legs trembled. My hands slid across the stainless steel. I let out a sound I didn't know I could make—a deep, drawn-out, unrestrained moan.

The machine continued for a few more seconds after orgasm—too long, too intense on the hypersensitive skin of my glans. I instinctively recoiled, pulling my cock out of the Fleshlight with an obscene sucking sound. Tyler did the same, wincing. Semen dripped from the openings of both devices—white strands that hung, dripped onto the stainless steel countertop, stretched between our dripping cocks and the glistening Fleshlights. The countertop was smeared. Our cocks were soaked—with lube, heated lube, semen—shining in the purple light, hanging limp, drained. Drops fell onto the black tiles.

Tyler leaned against the counter, his eyes closed, his breathing heavy. "That was... the most intense thing... I've ever..."

He didn't finish his sentence. He didn't need to finish.

The saleswoman turned off the machines. The humming stopped. The silence of the room returned — a heavy, post-orgasmic silence, in which only our breaths and the distant hum of the air conditioning could be heard.

She looked at us with a calm smile. "You want to clean? The shower is here."

She pointed to a door at the side of the room that I hadn't noticed. Tyler and I looked at each other—two guys dripping with semen and lube, boxers around their knees, dicks hanging out, in a back room of a sex shop in Sukhumvit. All embarrassment was gone. Swept away, vaporized by the experience we'd just shared. We'd come side by side in front of a fifty-year-old Thai woman; there was nothing left to hide.

We headed towards the shower. It was a simple tiled space—two showerheads fixed to the wall, a liquid soap dispenser, no curtain, no partition. Tyler took off his Birkenstocks, his shorts, his black boxer shorts, which he placed on a stool near the door. Then his polo shirt. He was completely naked—broad, muscular, tanned and smooth from his torso to his hips, his penis hanging loosely between his football player's thighs. I did the same—jeans, sneakers, red boxer shorts, t-shirt. Naked next to him, thinner, leaner, different but not entirely.

The hot water poured over our shoulders. We soaped ourselves in silence at first — the comfortable silence of men who have nothing left to prove. Then Tyler laughed.

“I just jerked off in a sex shop in Bangkok with a French dude I met twenty minutes ago. »

“And a fifty-year-old Thai woman who touched both our dicks. »

“My girlfriend can never know about this. »

“Nobody can ever know about this. »

We laughed. That laughter afterward, of decompression, of two guys realizing what they've just experienced and knowing that no one would believe them.

The water flowed over our naked bodies, washing away the gel, the lubricant, the last traces of semen. We faced each other under the two showerheads, without embarrassment, without tension, just two men's bodies washing themselves after something they would probably never do again.

Tyler handed me the soap. I took the bottle from his wet hands. Our eyes met — a frank, simple look, the look of two guys who shared a moment of absolute vulnerability and came out of it lighter.

We got dressed in the Fleshlights room. The saleswoman had cleaned the counter, wiped down the devices, and put the bottles back in their places. As if nothing had happened. Tyler put on his black boxer shorts and linen shorts. I pulled up my red boxer shorts and my dark jeans. We went back to the main shop.

Tyler bought lingerie for his girlfriend and a Fleshlight—the model he'd tried on. I bought a more compact, discreet model, which I slipped into an opaque bag. The saleswoman rang us up with the same smile as at the beginning, as if the last thirty minutes hadn't happened.

On the Sukhumvit sidewalk, the heat caught up with us. Night had fallen. Neon lights flickered, street vendors pushed their carts, tuk-tuks honked. Bangkok had continued to live while we were in that purple room.

Tyler held out his hand. “Derek.” That was... I don't even have a word. »

"Me neither."

“You're a good dude. Thanks for doing this with me. I would never have done it alone. »

“Same. I wouldn't have gone in that room without you. »

We shook hands — this time, the grip lasted longer. Not a polite grip, a grip of complicity, of raw brotherhood, of men who know something about each other that no one else will ever know.

“Enjoy the rest of your trip, man. And wear that red Calvin with pride. »

“Take care, Tyler. Ohio is lucky to have you. »

He laughed, patted me on the shoulder, and disappeared into the crowd at Sukhumvit.

I walked to the restaurant where my friends were waiting for me. The opaque bag in my backpack, the red boxer shorts clinging slightly to my skin in the night heat, my legs still a little weak from the orgasm that had drained me twenty minutes earlier. I sat down at the table, ordered a beer, and smiled at the conversation.

Nobody noticed anything.

No one could know.

And somewhere in Bangkok, an American from Ohio was walking in a different direction, with the same secrecy and the same smile.
