Between the Two

Ryan ran his hand down Marcus’s back and onto his fantastic ass. It felt like he was touching the softest pillow ever made. He cuffed Marcus's soft cheeks and pushed his tongue deeper into his mouth. It was at that moment that Ryan realized that he’d never kissed anyone the way the two of them were kissing.

Sun under the lake

Marcus felt disappointed in himself as he stared out into the lake. The blue waters looked so calm and inviting. They helped ease his guilt. He had allowed himself to cross a line with Cameron that he should never have crossed. His mind was filled with all these thoughts about his actions. He thought a good dive into the clear waters might provide him with some clarity. He could only hope.

There was something about being out on the water that always put him at ease. The breeze from the wind ran through his body like soft touches from a distant lover. Marcus quickly looked around. There was no one there, and in his mind, he was on his property. He had every right to do what he was about to do. He pulled his shirt off.

Ryan had been thinking about Marcus for the last two days. He felt bad that he missed him that night at the bar. He had hoped that his daily run would put him in Marcus’s path again. Ryan purposely ran without his shirt and wore an even tighter pair of shorts. He wanted to show off his body. When he ran past the house and didn’t see him, he took the risk of heading out back to the lake.

He stopped in his tracks when he saw Marcus take his shirt off in the distance. He removed his cowboy hat, ran his fingers through his hair briefly, and placed the hat back on. Ryan was about to call out to him, but Marcus dropped his shorts, revealing his delicious naked backside. Ryan quickly covered his eyes, wanting to respect Marcus’s privacy. Like a little kid, he spread his fingers open so he could see.

Marcus looked beautiful from behind. The sun kissed his chocolate skin, giving it a special glow. Ryan’s eyes traveled across the man’s broad shoulders and down his smooth back. He gazed upon that round ass that had the perfect amount of muscle and fat. Two perfect dimples sat above those magnificent glutes. The skin was smooth and free of imperfections. Ryan felt his cock throb. He knew he should look away, but he couldn’t fight the urge to stare.

Marcus walked to the edge of the lake. His buttocks bounced with each step he took. There were people who would pay good money to have the type of ass that Marcus had been naturally gifted with. Ryan couldn’t help but smile. There was a big part of him that was thrilled by what he saw. There was also part of him that felt bad for spying.

Marcus dived into the water headfirst. His feet went into the air as his body sank underwater. As he slowly disappeared under the surface, Ryan got a glimpse of that perfect, flaccid cut cock. It was a brief glimpse, but he liked everything he saw.

Marcus felt eyes were on him the second he took his clothes off. He was comfortable enough in his own skin not to care if someone saw him. He dived into the lake and let the cool, yet calm waters wash away the disappointment he felt within himself. He wanted to feel light in his spirit again. He broke the surface. He shook his head from side to side, and water flew from his long locs.  His dripping, wet body looked like something out of a movie. He looked around for any sign that someone had been watching him, but he found none.

He stepped out of the water only to find his clothes were gone. Marcus quickly panicked on the inside. He knew someone had been spying on him. He quickly placed his hands over his cock to protect some of his privacy.

“Okay,” he shouted. “Fun’s over.”

“Looking for these?” Ryan asked as he stepped out from behind some bushes with a big grin on his face. He held Marcus’s clothes in one hand like a treasure.

“Give ‘em back, you perv,” Marcus demanded as he reached for his clothes.

Ryan snatched them away. “Ask me nicely.”

The two stared at one another. Marcus couldn’t even pretend to be mad. There was something so peaceful about Ryan’s eyes. They both found themselves lost in the quietness. It was like a positive flow of energy wrapped around them. A smile slowly formed at the corners of their mouths.

“Why are you playing with me?” Marcus asked.

“What’s the matter? The comedian can’t take a little joke,” Ryan mockingly asked.

Marcus leaped for his clothing. Ryan jumped back and was instantly snatched up by a foot snare. It dragged him a foot or two as he screamed and then lifted him upside down. He dropped Marcus’s clothes as he swung back and forth.

“GOT DAMNIT,” he shouted. “Marcus cut me down.”

Marcus chuckled. “You want my help after you spied on me and took my clothes? You’re a cowboy. Figure it out.”

“Marcus, come on, don’t leave me like this. Please,” he begged.

“You’re lucky you’re cute,” he informed him.

“Thank God for good genetics,” he sighed.

Marcus slipped his shorts on and then placed Ryan’s cowboy hat on. He knelt in front of the cowboy’s cute face.

“Don’t go anywhere, Cowboy.”

“HAHA! Very funny, Marcus.”

Marcus ran to the house and grabbed a knife to cut the rope. He was only gone for a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity for Ryan. Within minutes, Marcus had cut the snare, and Ryan was safely back on the ground.

“I should have cut your shorts off before I let you down. You know, since you spied on me.”

Ryan quickly denied his actions. “I didn’t spy on you.”

Marcus gave me a look that spelled out he didn’t believe him. Ryan knew it was time to fess up. He had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

“Okay. Maybe a little. I wasn’t trying to. I just stumbled upon a scene I couldn’t resist. Also, you’re doing it in public.”

“I’m on my land,” Marcus corrected him.

“Well, technically, you’re on the lake. That’s public property. Having a home on the lake doesn’t mean you own the land around the lake.” Ryan finished his sentence with a wink.

Marcus cut his eyes. “What are you even doing here? I thought I’d never see you again after you bailed on getting casual drinks the other night.”

“I didn’t bail. I showed up late. I couldn’t let you know I was running late because I don’t have any contact info for you.

Marcus chuckled. “You think you’re smooth. You’re trying to get my phone number.”

“Really? Am I?” Ryan feigned stupidity as he looked around.

Marcus exhaled and took a seat on the grass. Ryan sat next to him. For several moments, neither one of them said a word. They just took in the scene and the breeze. Marcus barely knew Ryan, and for some reason or another, the cowboy just felt like a safe place. He felt like he could open up to Ryan.

“I kissed a guy yesterday,” Marcus confessed. “It shouldn’t have happened, but it did.”

“Oh. Wow, that was fast.” Ryan was completely blindsided and disappointed by the news.

“I have a husband. Had a husband,” he quickly added. “He died.” The memory was painful. Marcus quickly shrugged it off. He didn’t want to cry. “It’s been a year. The longest and loneliest year of my life.”

“What was his name?’

“Sean.”

Marcus smiled into the distance as he was filled with memories of his husband.

“He picked this house out. He wanted us to leave Boston, but I was scared. I was scared to be somewhere alone without friends and family. We knew the cancer would eventually win.

“Marcus, I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry for your loss.”

Ryan reached over and placed his hand on top of Marcus’s hand. His touch was so soft and warm. He knew just how to be charming.

“It's okay. I’m trying to navigate being somewhere new, and I have these two hot guys flirting with me. It’s new yet old terrain. I don’t want to jump into anything serious, I think. I don’t know.  I just know I’m scared a little to put myself back into the dating world. I thought if I went for a swim, it would help ease my disappointment and reservations about all of it.”

“Listen, I’m cool with following your pace. I want you to feel comfortable. I am a little upset that I didn’t kiss you first.”

Marcus laughed, “Well, it serves you right for not being on time the other night.”

“Fair. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again. Are you going to give me your number or not?” Ryan asked with this deep power in his voice.

With an eyebrow raised, Marcus asked, “What happened to being casual? Was that just a lie to get me out of the house and on a date?”

“It wasn’t a lie. It was, however, before I knew you kissed another guy,” he answered. “So, yes or no about this number?”

Marcus paused for a moment as chills ran down his spine. There was something so sexy and hot about a man with a little power and authority in his wants and intentions. It made him feel some excitement in his southern region.

He bit his lip as he cracked a half smile at Ryan. He found it hard to say no to the guy.

“Give me your phone,” he said as he held his hand out.

Ryan watched with a smile on his face as Marcus plugged in his contact information. Ryan wanted desperately to kiss Marcus. It was something he thought of on the first day he met him. He admired those soft, wet, luscious pink lips. They looked so sweet and tasty. It was almost hard to focus on anything other than kissing him.

Marcus licked his lips, and Ryan’s cock jumped inside his shorts.

“Done,” Marcus told him as he handed the phone back.

Ryan checked and smiled at the number. He felt giddy.

“You know, sometimes you need the perfect combination of water and sun to help ease your mind.”

“I was literally just in the lake with the sun beaming down on me. It didn’t help much.”

“You didn’t do it the old Ryan “Cowboy” Calloway way.”

“The Ryan “Cowboy” Calloway way? What exactly is that?”

“Well, let’s see, first, you need to set the mood with a little soft music to help ease your anxiety.”

Ryan quickly scrolled through his phone. Marcus watched him carefully and with a bit of doubt. The soothing beats of a song played.

“Now, let’s go for a swim,” he said as he pulled his shorts off.

Marcus wasted no time examining Ryan’s athletic, framed body. The sun, mixed with the sweat from his morning run, gave his naked body this glistening glow. Marcus’s gaze had such a deep intensity to it. He observed the way the sweat ran down Ryan’s chest. It trickled over his perfectly formed pink nipples and down his abs. The wind blew gently through his dark bush.

Finally, his eyes feasted on Ryan’s cut appendage. The sight of such a succulent prize made Marcus’s heart race. It dangled between his thighs in front of a pair of smooth, round, low-hanging testicles. The two men made eye contact. Ryan flashed his brilliant white smile. Marcus cut his eyes with a simple yet revealing smile.

“Are we going in?” Ryan asked as he ran and dived into the lake.

“Ugh!”

Marcus looked around. They were the only two people, and for some strange reason, he felt comfortable around Ryan. He couldn’t describe it or completely understand it. He just knew he liked him from the very beginning.

“Come on,” Ryan shouted.

Once again, Marcus stripped off his clothes. He ran and jumped into the lake. He broke the surface, and they smiled at one another.

Marcus asked, “Now that you have me naked again, what’s next?”

Ryan smiled and said, “Take my hand and trust me.”

Ryan held his hand out. Marcus chuckled to himself as he took Ryan’s hand. Ryan took a deep breath, and Marcus followed his lead. They went under the water together.

Just below the surface, it looked like a regular lake. Then, the beauty of it revealed itself. Its depths held a lush green underwater forest. They swam into the open middle. Trees surrounded them, and beneath them were old heirlooms from the townspeople.

Ryan pointed up, and Marcus looked up, only to be captured by the sun’s beauty. They were in the perfect spot to have the sun and water wash over them at the same time. Everything around them seemed so bright and tranquil. It was almost magical. The entire experience filled them both with peace and joy.

The two men smiled at one another. Their hearts began to beat faster. Slowly, they inched closer and closer together. Their lips touched and formed a perfect seal. They blew air into each other’s lungs, and their bodies called out to one another. Without realizing it, they were pressed together and slowly spinning around beneath the glow of the sun.

They slowly reached the surface, but their lips never parted. They found themselves in a sweet and tender kiss. It was full of passion, longing, and desire. Their lips were succulent and soft. The air vanished from around them. Their tongues explored one another.
