The Way to the Top

Ivo held them there for what felt like an eternity, fingers working inside Henry with practiced patience, voice dropping to a low, deliberate murmur every time either of them edged too close. "Not yet." The two words carried the same calm authority he used to close the books at the end of a long day, absolute and unhurried, and Henry obeyed without question, pulling back from the brink by sheer stubborn will.

His jaw ached in the best way, lips slick around Ivo's girth, tongue working slow circles beneath the head while the man above him breathed in measured waves. The harness straps framed Ivo's chest like architecture, the leather dark against all that hair, and Henry found himself gripping one of the straps with his free hand just for something to hold onto. Something solid while everything else dissolved.

Behind him Nico had graduated to three fingers, the stretch deep and steady, his other hand splayed wide against the curve of Henry's lower back. The touch was grounding, possessive without pressure, thumb tracing idle circles over the dimple at the base of Henry's spine the way someone might absently stroke a page they did not want to stop reading.

"He is ready," Nico said. His voice came out rougher than usual, thickened by arousal and the effort of holding his own pace. Henry felt him shift, felt the cool absence of fingers replaced immediately by the blunt, insistent heat of Nico's cock pressing at his entrance.

Ivo pulled Henry's mouth free with a gentle tug of his hair, tilting his chin up until their eyes met. Henry's lips were swollen, cheeks flushed, and whatever expression he wore made Ivo exhale slowly through his nose with a look that was close to reverence.

"Tell me you want it," Ivo said.

The old shyness tried to surface. Henry swallowed it down. "I want it. Both of you. Whatever you decide."

Something shifted in Ivo's steel-blue eyes. Approval, deep and genuine, the kind that cost something to give. He leaned forward and kissed Henry once, firm and slow, then drew back and nodded over his shoulder. "Give it to him. Easy."

Nico pushed inside.

Henry's breath left him in a single, broken exhale. The stretch was full and immediate, the kind that sat right at the edge of too much, and he pressed his forehead against Ivo's hip and simply breathed through it, the way he breathed through the hard part of a climb. Nico went still at depth, one hand firm on Henry's hip and the other stroking the small of his back. No rush. He felt Nico's pulse through the contact, steady and hot.

"Good?" Nico murmured.

Henry managed a rough sound that meant yes and felt Nico smile against his shoulder blade.

They started slow, Nico's hips rolling in long, deliberate strokes that pressed Henry forward with each one. Ivo guided Henry's mouth back down, one hand still threaded through his short hair, the other wrapped loosely around the harness strap at his own chest. The rhythm found itself quickly, organic and unhurried, the three of them breathing together in the warm half-dark of the apartment.

Henry lost track of time. There was only the drag and press of Nico moving inside him, the salt weight of Ivo on his tongue, the soft creak of the couch and the muffled sounds of want that none of them bothered to quiet. His own cock hung heavy and untouched, leaking steadily onto the cushion beneath him, and he had stopped caring about the smallness of it. Ivo had looked at it like a gift. Nico had taken it in his mouth without hesitation. The body he had spent years apologizing for was welcome here, every soft inch of it, and the knowledge sat warm and permanent in his chest.

Ivo's grip in his hair tightened. "Switch," he said.

Nico withdrew and Henry made an involuntary noise at the sudden emptiness. They rearranged without rushing, Nico sliding onto his back on the far cushion and pulling Henry over him, chest to chest. The contact was everything Henry had imagined during long factory nights: Nico's lean, defined frame underneath his heavier one, all that muscle against all that softness, neither apologizing for itself. Nico wrapped both arms around Henry's back and pulled him closer still.

"Missed this already," Nico said quietly, the directness stripped of performance. He kissed Henry once, deep and slow.

Ivo knelt behind Henry, slick fingers returning briefly, thorough and unhurried. Then he lined himself up and pressed inside alongside the memory of Nico's absence, filling the space completely. Henry exhaled again, the sound longer this time, almost undone.

"Breathe," Ivo murmured at his ear.

He breathed.

Ivo moved with that same quiet authority he brought to everything else, strokes measured and precise, one hand splayed wide across Henry's belly. The touch was deliberate, fingers spread over the soft curve of him, gripping with unhurried pressure. Not tolerating it. Holding it. Henry felt the difference in his bones.

"This," Ivo said close to his ear, thumb pressing into the flesh above his hip, "is what I have been thinking about since the first session. Watching you move on the wall. All this mass and power and the way you carry it like you are still convincing yourself it belongs to you." He thrust slowly, hand tightening. "It belongs to you. Every part of it."

Nico reached between them and wrapped his hand around Henry's cock, stroking him in long pulls that matched Ivo's rhythm. His grip was different from before, less urgent, the kind of attention that said I have time, I want to feel all of it.

Henry's mouth opened against Nico's shoulder and no words came out. Just breath, ragged and undisguised. The old habit of managing how much he showed was gone, burned through by the warmth of two pairs of hands that knew exactly what they were doing and wanted to do it.

Ivo set the pace and Nico followed it, the two of them orchestrating something Henry had no language for yet. The slow build climbed in waves, cresting and pulling back every time Ivo judged them close enough. Twice Henry heard himself make sounds that would have embarrassed him in any other room. Here they only seemed to encourage both men, Nico's hips tilting up to press him closer, Ivo's hand sliding from his belly to his chest and gripping there, thumb circling one dark nipple until it peaked hard.

"You are so close," Ivo observed, entirely calm about it, like he was noting a weather change. His voice was the most controlled thing in the room. "Hold it a little longer. I want to feel you let go properly."

Henry laughed, the sound thick and disbelieving. "You are an evil man."

"Yes," Ivo agreed. He sounded pleased about it.

Nico tilted his head back against the cushion and groaned, the sound low and unguarded. "Ivo. I am serious. Either now or I am finishing without you."

"Now," Ivo said simply, and everything changed.

The careful rhythm broke open. Ivo's hips rolled deeper, faster, the measured control giving way to something rawer. Nico stroked Henry with purpose now, thumb pressing just beneath the head on each upstroke, the grip slick and sure. Henry pushed back into Ivo and forward into Nico's hand, suspended between them, every nerve stripped of its insulation.

He came first.

The release moved through him like a slow wave breaking, deep and thorough, his cock pulsing into Nico's fist in long pulses that drew a guttural sound from somewhere he hadn't known existed. The clench of his body pulled Nico over with him, the younger man arching underneath, hips stuttering once, twice, the warmth of his release spreading between their pressed-together chests. Ivo followed seconds later with a single low sound, controlled even now, burying himself deep and holding there while the tremors moved through him.

They stayed tangled in the aftermath, none of them moving quickly. Nico's arms stayed wrapped around Henry's back, one hand drawing slow, absent lines between his shoulder blades. Ivo pressed his lips once to the nape of Henry's neck before easing free and reaching past him for the soft cloth he had left on the end table, careful and unhurried.

The clock on the kitchen wall read just past eleven. The apartment held the particular quiet that followed effort, warm and used and comfortable.

Nico broke it first. "I need water and something substantial to eat," he announced against Henry's shoulder. "In that order."

Henry let out a long, satisfied exhale. "I could eat. And before anyone asks, yes, I am staying. If that is still the offer."

Ivo appeared from the bathroom, resettled in a clean T-shirt, the harness gone. His expression carried that familiar warmth, the steady, precise thing that felt like a deliberate choice every time he directed it at someone. "The offer stands. It has not changed since we made it." He set a glass of water on the low table beside the couch and looked between them, something fond settling into the clean lines of his face. "Nico makes an unreasonably good scrambled egg at midnight if you are willing to wait ten minutes."

"It is not unreasonably good," Nico said, already sitting up and reaching for his discarded henley on the floor. "It is exactly as good as it should be. The trick is the butter and not touching it until it sets."

"He has explained this many times," Ivo said, a dry edge creeping into his voice. "To people who were not listening, at conferences where food science was not on the agenda."

Henry sat up slowly, the pleasant weight of exhaustion settling through his limbs. He accepted the water, drank half of it in one go, and watched the two of them move around each other in the open kitchen with the practiced ease of people who had long since memorized the other's habits. Nico pulled eggs from the fridge with one hand and was already talking about the new route set he planned for Monday. Ivo filled a second glass without being asked and set it where Nico would reach for it automatically.

Henry pulled a spare throw blanket from the end of the couch around his shoulders, the softness welcome against the cooling air. The discomfort from the locker room, Marcus's silent smirk and the sharp twist of old insecurity it had sent through him, had gone almost entirely. Not erased. Henry knew better than to expect that. But small enough now that it sat at a manageable distance, no longer filling the whole room.

He thought about the text he had sent after Wednesday's session. How Ivo had replied with three words that felt more considered than most people managed in paragraphs. Take the time. The phrase had not been empty reassurance. It had been information.

"Hey," he said.

Both men looked up.

"I know I got in my head a bit this week." He kept his voice even, the sarcasm set aside. "I am not used to things feeling this solid this fast. I kept waiting to find the catch."

Ivo leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed loosely. "And?"

Henry looked between them. "No catch. Just two people who make good coffee and run a good gym and apparently also know what they are doing with everything else."

Nico pointed a spatula at him. "Took you eight chapters to say that."

Henry blinked, then laughed, the sound full and unguarded. "What?"

"Eight sessions," Nico corrected, grinning without apology. "I said eight sessions."

Ivo was already looking back at the pan, but Henry caught the quiet curve of his mouth before it disappeared. It was a small, private thing, the kind that did not need an audience.

Henry pulled the blanket closer and settled back into the couch, the old factory hum of the building drifting up through the floor like a familiar background. His muscles ached. His chest felt lighter than it had in years. Somewhere above the industrial zone, the last tram of the night rolled through Cologne without him aboard it.

He was not going anywhere.
