Photographer Zoen Lam Releasing Book Celebrating Asian Men

Photographer Zoen Lam is releasing a coffee-table book celebrating the beauty and diversity of Asian men. Yellow features notable Asian models, actors, musicians, artists, dancers, and athletes from around the world. Challenging emasculating stereotypes, the art book showcases the allure and desirability of Asian men asking the question: "Why are there so few Asian male heroes or heart throbs in Western culture?"

"My aim is to flip the negative Asian male stereotype on its head, and showcase Asian guys as leading men, as alpha male types," says Lam on his Kickstarter page. Models have been photographed on a yellow background, which along with the book's title, aims to change stereotypes around the word yellow, which many Asians feel is a label of discrimination. It is Lam's hope that the project will "empower Asian men, making them feel good and be proud to be Yellow." Come inside for a peek.

The Yellow Kickstarter campaign has just passed the halfway mark of it's €28,900 with 221 backers. It offers various incentive packages from a credit in the book to signed copies of the book itself.
