Late on October 11, we learned that Mormon Boyz has become Missionary Boys and the only explanation the company has provided is: "We have had some issues so we had to change the name of Mormon Boyz to Missionary Boys." The company running the site has owned the domain name since 2009, so what kind of issues could they have that would force a name change? Have the higher-ups in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) gone on a rampage again? It wouldn't be the first time they've allegedly given the porn site a hard time.
Also, Mormon Girlz, a straight porn site run by the same company, has also changed its identity and is now called Polygamy Girls. Like Mormon Boyz, Mormon Girlz featured the secret sex practices of a Mormon cult. But a representative of the two sites remains tight lipped on the actual reason behind the renaming of their sites.
In 2010, it was reported that Mormon Boyz was successfully attacked by hackers from Salt Lake City, Utah. And two years ago, Queerty reported that organizers of Utah Pride Festival declined Mormon Boyz's vendor application citing the board's discomfort with having them attend the event.
In 2008, the LDS called on California Mormons to donate time and money to the Proposition 8 campaign, which sought to overturn a state Supreme Court ruling that permitted same-sex marriage. And the Mormon church remains firm on its opposition to gay marriage and homosexuality in general.
Is the Mormon church behind the name shift? We'll probably never know, however, its business as usual at Missionary Boys, which has released this week's scene right on schedule. However, you'll note the two men in this scene aren't wearing the traditional Mormon temple garments. We'll have to wait and see if this is permanent or just a production glitch.
