New readers should start reading this novel at Chapter 1.  The chapters do not stand alone, but are sequential components of an erotic novel in which there are 36 chapters in all, which are intended to be read in numerical order.


It was 10 o’clock on the morning of December 28th and Brad was sitting facing the Headmaster in his study. A lot of water had flown under the bridge in the brief time since Brad’s arrival at the School yesterday afternoon. His immediate sex life with DD had been suddenly enlarged by the unexpected appearance of Jonathan on the scene. But Brad knew that whatever Jonathan might think as a result of the vigorous sex all three of them had had together last night, he was and would remain just a mutual friend, but no more than that. He had found DD by a miracle and did not want anything or anybody to interfere with their long-term relationship. And by way of convincing DD of his loyalty to him, if that was at all needed, Brad had fucked his partner, bare-back, in the shower that morning before breakfast, taking them both to simultaneous orgasm, leaving DD with a load of his sperm inside him as a sign of his complete loyalty to him.  He had no intention of allowing anyone, not even such an attractive young man as Jonathan, to come between them. There was no reason why the three of them should not have sex together again, but Jonathan had to understand that his two partners were a solid, indivisible item and that he was just a mutual friend, with whom, from time to time, they had sex.

The Headmaster began: “Well, Brad, I hope that you have settled in alright and have had a good first night’s sleep in your new surroundings. Anyway, I thought before you confront your first class, it might be as well if I point you in the right direction. Now in this school we take, or better put, are sent, boys aged from 16 to 18, all of whom are repeat offenders.  I wish I could say they were petty criminals, but many of our inmates, pupils, as we call them, are already hardened criminals, some of whom are quite dangerous. And for that reason, from eight at night until six next morning, they are kept under lock and key in their dormitories and guards are on duty all night; so, you can sleep easy in your bed at night as all inmates are confined.”

“Now we have about 240 inmates and are, what I suppose is the equivalent of a sixth form college, as our youngest boys are 16.  At any one time, we have about 80 boys in each of the three age categories and they are split into three classes of 25 to 30 boys per class, which is big by today’s standards; but we are not aiming at specialised tuition here as most of our inmates, with the odd notable exception, care nothing for education or improving their knowledge or intellectual capacities. Unfortunately for most of them, this school is a sort of pit stop, before they are released and let loose on the public again, when most of them will revert to their previous ways and eventually finish up in an adult prison”

“It is, nevertheless, our duty to try to give them an education. And so, of the classic curriculum, we try to teach them elementary mathematics and English. Many of our new arrivals aged 16 can barely read or write; so everything is an uphill struggle. In addition to this, we have vocational courses in joinery, electrical work, plumbing, bricklaying and plastering to try to teach the boys a manual trade in which they have a chance to earn an honest living on their release.”

“Now since your predecessor’s departure, I have been acting as master of form 1A, a group of 25 boys aged 16, of whom you will now take charge as form master. You will also endeavour to instil the rudiments of elementary mathematics into these boys as well those in the other classes. A time-table of your maths lessons will be given to you by my secretary. The system is the classic one: the boys stay put, unless they have a practical lesson and the teachers go to the form rooms to give the lesson.  So, you will very quickly get to know the 25 or so boys in your form and gradually the boys in the other forms to whom you give lessons. I pride myself, as an old hand at teaching, that I know every inmate in this school by his surname and given name.”

“Turning now to what I consider the most important part of your functions here at Moulton Midmarsh, your role of Chief Disciplinarian: (Brad could hear from the emphasis the Headmaster gave to his title that the two words, even when spoken, each began with a capital letter) I think that it is imperative, as of day one, that you to establish your position in the eyes of the inmates.  You are new, young and pleasant-looking; but, most importantly, you are totally inexperienced when it comes to dealing with the sort of irresponsible young tearaways we have in our charge. Without any doubt, the boys throughout the school will push your tolerance as far as they can.  And so as an old hand at dealing with the type of lad we have on our hands, I think it would be advisable for you to show them who is in charge from day one, to which end I suggest that you beat one or two of them as soon as possible in every lesson you give, in front of their classmates.  There is nothing more humiliating than to be given a bare arse thrashing in front of your classmates, which also has the added benefit of inculcating a sense of fear into the observers that the same could happen to them.”

“You have absolute carte blanche when it comes to using the cane on the boys, subject to the limit that no lad may be given more than 24 strokes of the rattan cane or the birch for any one offence or at any one time; and I should remind you that all canings in this school are given on the bare – no exceptions! So if in your zeal you break the skin on a lad’s arse and raise a few drops of blood, then tough luck for him: the boys have to learn that this place is not a holiday camp – far from it – and that if they misbehave in the slightest way, a well-beaten arse is part and parcel of daily life in this establishment. Now you will have noted that the school rules limit, quite specifically, the use of the rattan-cane and the birch, but do not preclude the use of another implement, such as the slipper, or even my own little invention, with which you are already familiar, to pre-condition a boy’s buttocks prior to their application. Nor do the rules preclude using a combination of the cane and the birch, provided always that the maximum, 24 stroke limit is observed.  So, I think that you have ample power and the right tools in your hands to teach any errant lad – of which there will be plenty, I can tell you – a very sound and painful lesson.”

“Additionally, the rules leave it to the discretion of the flagellator as to the severity and methods with which the cane may be applied. So, for instance in a 12-cut beating – and I am sure I need not remind you that 12 cuts of the cane are the mandatory minimum for every beating in this School, the old concept of six of the best being strictly for the birds – there are no restrictions on how the cane may be applied to the offender’s backside. For instance, you are free to etch what I always think of as a ladder motif on the offender’s buttocks, by giving him 12 cuts parallel; alternatively, if you wish to be even more severe, you can choose to double certain cuts. I think, with a little imagination on your part, the act of inflicting corporal punishment on the inmates can be raised to a painful form of art.”

“I should also add that birching of boys, who arrive with a judicial birching order, are not subject to this 24 cut maximum rule. Therefore, if you feel it is appropriate, as I myself often do, you may increase severity of the punishment as you think fit.now here is”

“Now I do not wish to give you the impression by what I have just said that I am a bloodthirsty sadist (I’ll believe you; but thousands wouldn’t, thought Brad as he listened to all this) but I feel it would have been remiss of me not to draw your attention to the diverse possibilities which the more unpleasant aspects of your duties offer you. But as corporal punishment is the only tool available to us in our struggle to keep order in this place, I see no reason why we, as flagellators, obliged as we are to wield the rods of justice, should not make the act as enjoyable as possible for ourselves.  In the classroom, in the interests of expediency, any punishment will naturally be limited to the application of the cane. But for more serious infractions, of which, believe me, my dear fellow, there will be many, which are dealt with in the Punishment Room, as you saw when you first visited this school, you may exercise your imagination and your choice of implements to the full; just remember to keep to the  24 stroke maximum rule.”

“Coming now to practicalities; in the classroom, you are, of course free to inflict punishment on any inmate whom you feel merits it and speaking from my own experience, a lot will!  My advice to you is not to let even the slightest offence go unpunished. As I said earlier, the boys will play you for all you are worth to see what they can get away with. Do not let them; whack their arses there and then and let them see who is in charge. Now, to facilitate immediate remedial action to any form of misbehaviour by the boys, each and every classroom is equipped with both a cane and a punishment stool. So as you move from classroom to classroom to give your lessons, you will have the reassurance that the rod of justice is always to hand, enabling you to take immediate action and, as the saying has it, to strike whilst the iron is hot, which as I have tried to impress on you, you should always do.”

“However, coming to the most important aspect of your job, that of dispensing punishment to those boys whose misdeeds have been sufficient to justify sending them to the Punishment Room, my secretary prepares a list of those lads on the punishment parade of that evening, which will be given to you so that you know exactly what, let us call it your work load for that evening will be. If there are inmates whose backsides need attention that day, which, I might add, is normally the case, as disobedience is endemic in this school, the punishment parade is usually held immediately after supper each evening. We have never allowed the grass to grow under our feet when it comes to retribution; so boys are usually punished the same evening as the day they commit the offence and go to bed nursing very sore arses.” 

The Headmaster paused for a moment and smiled at Brad, before going on to tell what he intended to be a donnish sort of joke. “We do, however have two virtually infallible, universally applicable, botanically derived, endermic treatments for endemic disobedience among our boys: Calamus rotang and Betula pendula. These two natural, botanical products, commonly know, respectively, as the rattan cane and the birch, when vigorously applied with a firm hand at appropriate dose rates, either separately or in combination, endermically to the buttocks of a boy needing treatment for the unfortunate but common malady of endemic disobedience, often have miraculous results.  The recovery period after the initial shock of application can last several days; but where second or, occasionally, third applications are needed to cure a particularly recalcitrant case, there is little or no danger of the patient becoming addicted to the treatment as the medicine itself is somewhat disagreeable.”

“But joking apart, my secretary will give you the list of inmates whose backsides require your attention that particular evening, together with a copy of the note from the master concerned and his thoughts on the severity of the punishment he recommends. However, as Chief Disciplinarian, you are free to accept your colleagues’ recommendations or to modify them as you see fit. As, since your predecessor left, I have been forced to play what is henceforth to be your role and beating the boys myself, my own personal view is that many masters are much too soft when it comes to punishing the inmates.  Mr. Turner, the Head Warder, whom you have met, also receives a copy of the same list as you, and he and his staff make sure that all inmates on the list are present and correct and ready stripped for punishment at the appointed hour.”

“Now we always make a piece of drama out the punishment parade, in order to bring home to the attendees the seriousness with which we view their offences.  So all boys, once assembled are made to take a shower before they are beaten; and then, wearing only a pair of punishment shorts, they are made to wait outside the punishment under the supervision of the guards, as you saw the other day, until they are taken into the Punishment Room where they are stripped completely naked, strapped over a horse and flogged.  Your job is then done as the guards take over and take the inmate back to his dormitory, as he is usually in such pain that he wants nothing more than to life face down on his bed and feel sorry for himself.  Punishments in this school are severe, which as you will quickly learn, are needed to deal with the calibre of boys we have here.”

“Well, I think that covers all the salient points relating to your duties. As you are, in fact, now available, might I suggest that you start as form-master tomorrow morning and meet your flock? I will come along and introduce you to the boys for whom I have been acting form-master pending your arrival and you can then take it from there.  Classes start at eight by the way, so I will await you tomorrow morning in class 1A form-room, to which I am sure your friend DD, who is still officially on holiday until January 2nd next year, will be happy to direct you. Brad, I am delighted to welcome you on board, as a key member of my staff. As I have already seen you in action with both cane and birch, I have no doubt as to your ability to deal effectively with the offenders.”

“However, in addition to beating the pre-prepared arses in the Punishment Room, you also have a form to run and classes to teach. So just allow me to sound like a broken record for a moment. Show the boys in your form and in all the classes you teach that you and you alone, are in charge from the word go. Tolerate not the slightest sign of any disobedience.  Whack a few boys in front of their classmates to show them that you mean business.  Remember you must maintain the upper-hand from the word go; give the inmates – prisoners, boys, pupils, call them what you will – an inch and, believe me, they will take the proverbial mile. Accustom yourself to the fact that Moulton Midmarsh is a juvenile prison masquerading as a school and that life here is rather brutal. You have been recruited to do a brutal job, which few would relish and I wish you the best of luck in starting this new phase of your life.  Now, let me introduce you to my secretary who is my right hand during the day here in the School. What I would do without her to organise my life here in the School, I do not know. She is just so much better equipped to answer any organisational questions you might have, so I will leave you in her tender care.”
