I started this story before I wrote the last one that I posted (The Reunion). I thought that it didn't have enough sex in it, so I shelved it. After I finished The Reunion, I reread it and decided to give it a try anyway. From the comments I get from my regular readers, I felt they like a story with or without a lot of sex, I hope you enjoy it.

As my regular readers know, I like to write some of my stories with the two main characters telling their version of events in alternating chapters, Nate and Alec will be doing that with their story. Chapter one starts with Nate's backstory.

Chapter 1

Nate

My best friend Cole and I had just turned 16, Cole had already gotten his driver’s license. We were headed to pick up his little brother from school, I heard tires squealing and then a load crash. I opened my eyes not sure what was going on, I couldn’t move, and pain was shooting down my right leg.

“Hey buddy, how are you feeling?”

I tried to look around to see who was talking, “My leg hurts really bad, what happened?”

“You were in a car accident, what is your name bud?”

“Nathan, Nate Taylor.”

“Hey Nate, I’m Mike and I am going to help you, just stay still for me ok.”

I was still confused, “I can’t move, where is Cole?”

Mike said, “I know, don’t try to move, we are going to get you out soon, who is Cole?”

I told him, “Cole is my is my friend, he was driving.”

Mike was putting a collar on my neck and a bandage on my forehead, “Oh, he’s ok, we already got him out of the car, my friends have him in the ambulance already. We will have you out of here soon, the best guys in the business are out there getting ready to get us out of here.”

I was trying to move my leg, “I can’t get my leg loose, please get me out of here.”

Mike held me back, “just relax Nate, don’t move, we need to cut a section of the car away and then we can get you out of here.”

I started to panic, “What if they cut me while they are cutting the car?”

Mike reassured me, “Don’t worry Nate, these guys are pros, they won’t cut you, just try not to move too much, I am going to stay right here with you the whole time.”

I heard machines running and metal crunching, once again I was starting to panic, Mike noticed, “It’s ok Nate, I’m right here, everything is going to be fine.”

I heard a grinding sound and saw sparks, Mike yelled, “hey Ted, give me one of those protective blankets, we got sparks in here.”

The sparks stopped and someone pushed a blanket through the window, Mike spread it over us, and the grinding started up again. Mike kept reassuring me and stayed with me until the piece of the car that was pinning me inside the car was pulled away. Mike held my head, and another guy gently lifted me onto a stretcher and started to roll me to a waiting ambulance. I saw another stretcher being loaded into the other ambulance with a sheet covering he patient.

I tried to get up, “I thought you said Cole was ok, you lied to me.”

Mike held me down, “that’s not Cole, that is the driver of the other car. Nate, don’t drink and drive, that is what happens.”

I was rolled to back of the ambulance and was relieved to see Cole already sitting inside. A few minutes later we were on the way to the hospital, Cole’s and my parents were waiting for us as we were brought in. After the doctors talked to my parents, I was wheeled into surgery to fix my broken leg. I woke up and saw my mom sleeping in the chair beside my bed, a minute later dad and my brother Jess came walking in the door.

Dad said, “hey kiddo, how are you feeling?”

I said, “I’m a little groggy, but ok I guess, what happened?”

Jess said, “you were in a car wreck little bro, a drunk t-boned you and Cole.”

Dad finished, “you were trapped for about 2 hours, they had to cut you out. Your leg was smashed pretty bad, they had to do surgery to put it back together.”

I was starting to remember a little, “how is Cole?”

Mom woke up, “he’s fine, he was treated and released, Jess go get him from the waiting room.”

Jess left and a few minutes later Cole and his parents walked in my room. He asked, “how are you doing buddy?”

I said, “ok I guess, I am just glad you are ok.”

He said, “you got the worst of it, sorry about that.”

My dad put his hand on Cole’s shoulder, “it wasn’t your fault Cole, the other guy had been drinking and ran the stop sign.”

The nurse came in and told us the I needed to get some rest, “It’s after midnight and you have all had a long day.”

I told mom and dad I would be fine, and they should go home. Mom said, “Ok, but I will back first thing in the morning.”

I was eating my breakfast when Mike walked in with his partner Joe, “Hey Nate, how are you today?”

I smiled, “I’m doing better than the last time we talked. What are you doing here?”

Mike said, “we had to bring another patient in, and I wanted to stop and see how you were doing.”

I asked, “do you do that with all the people you help?”

Mike shook his head, “I am not sure yet, you were my first call, I just started this job yesterday.”

I thanked Mike and Joe for helping me as they left mom was coming in the door, she also thanked them as they returned to their ambulance.

I turned to mom, “I am going to be an EMT when I get out of high school.”

It’s hard to believe that was ten years ago, I have been an EMT for four years, I work out of Station #3, Mike has been my mentor since I was hired, he and Joe work out of Station #1. We don’t get to see each other every day but we are often both on accident scenes when more than one ambulance is needed. I have loved being an EMT ever since I was hired, and I try to treat all my patients as Mike treated me.

I live in a one-bedroom apartment not far from the Station, up until about a month ago, my boyfriend Seth lived with me. He moved out when we had a fight over the hours I work, I am scheduled to work 2 days on and 2 days off. I stay at the station while I am on duty and my workdays also fall on weekends. Seth just couldn’t understand that I couldn’t just take off anytime he wanted to go away for a weekend, and why I couldn’t just come home every night. It just got to be too much for him, and he told me if my job was more important than him, we should go our separate ways. He was right, I had worked too hard to get my job and I liked it too much to give it up. We had been together since college, and he was my first real boyfriend since I came out the summer between high school and college.

I was still a little bit depressed after my breakup with Seth, Thad, my partner at work even told me I needed to get laid.

He asked, “don’t you guys have an app that lets you find other guys that just want a hook up?”

I laughed, “yeah there are apps for that, but I wasn’t sure I was ready.”

He said, “well if you don’t get some soon, I don’t think I will be able to stand working with you.”

I sighed, “sorry, I know I haven’t been the greatest guy to be around the past few weeks, I’ll try to be better.”

The next weekend I was out with Jess and his wife Tara, they were asking about how I was doing, or if I had met anyone since Seth left. I told them I hadn’t, and that I wasn’t sure how soon I would be ready to try dating again.

Tara said, “ok that settles it, you are going to Cancun with us in February. It will help you get over Seth and you might even meet someone.”

Jess added, “yeah little bro, when was the last time you took a real vacation?”

I shrugged, “I guess right after college before I started working. But I don’t know, I’d just be a third wheel.”

He said, “no you won’t, Cole and Val are going with us you’ll be a fifth wheel, but don’t worry about that, it will be fun,”

Cole had gotten married last year, since Jess was only 18 months older than I was, he, Cole and I hung out together a lot. After a call from Cole the next day I was buying a plane ticket to Cancun.

We were all sitting on the beach on our second day when he walked by. My mouth dropped opened and I stared as he made his way to the bar. I must have been a little too obvious when I turned back around, everyone was laughing at me.

I felt myself blush, “what?”

Jess said, “here is a napkin, you can wipe the drool from your mouth.”

Cole added, “hey don’t be embarrassed, I think he is kind of hot too.”

Val hit him in the arm, “don’t be an ass.”

Tara smirked, “I think you need another drink, why don’t you go the bar and get one.”

I picked up my half full drink, “I am still good, I’ll finish this one first.”

Jess rolled his eyes, “you dumb shit, the guy you were just ogling is standing at the bar, why don’t you go talk to him.”

I looked toward the bar then back to everyone sitting at my table staring at me, “I don’t know what to say to him, I don’t even know if he is gay or not, what if he’s not and punches me in the face?”

Cole shook his head, “Jesus Christ you pussy, just go get a drink and say hi, if he hits you, Jess and I got your back, hell who knows, he may think you are hot too.”

I pushed my chair back, “fine, I will go make an ass out of myself, I will back in two minutes.”

Jess laughed, “that’s it little bro, way to show that confidence.”

I drank down the last of my drink for courage and started walking toward the bar. Jesus he was hot, about 5’10”, strawberry blonde hair, blue trunks with a white tank top revealing nice tones arms. I scanned down to muscular tanned legs with just a dusting of light hair, sexy feet in a pair of black flip flops. I saw him look toward me as I walked in his direction, I thought I saw his lips turn in a slight smile, he took a sip of his drink.

I stood next to him and set my glass on the bar, “can I get you another drink Nate?” The bartender asked.

I looked straight ahead, “yes please Raul”

Raul, looking to the hottie next to me asked, “and you sir, I can make two just as easily as one?”

He smiled, “sure, that would be great, thanks.”

I am not sure what I was thinking when I blurted out, “you can put his drink on my tab, Raul.”

He took the last sip from his glass, “thank you, I am Alec.” He held out his hand.

I took his hand, “hi Alec, I am Nate, nice to meet you.” I held his hand longer than I should have.

He chuckled as he pulled his hand back, “it’s nice to meet you too Nate.”

He smiled showing his perfect white teeth and the cutest dimples I had ever seen, Jesus I am going to be so disappointed if Alec turns out to be straight.

He asked, “so are you here on vacation?”

I smiled back, “yeah, I am with my brother and best friend and their wives. How about you?”

He said, “yes, I came down with a couple friends. You didn’t bring your wife?”

I chuckled to myself and took a chance, “no, I don’t have a wife. I just broke up with my boyfriend.” I watched for his reaction, he just took another sip of drink looking straight ahead.

He set his glass down, looked at his watch, “well I need to go meet my friends in couple minutes, thanks for the drink.”

My heart sank, shit he was straight, and I just made a fool of myself.

He stood to leave, then paused, “look, I am staying in the Hilton across the street, I will probably be going to the Tiki Room on the second floor tonight. If you aren’t doing anything else and want to get a drink, stop by, it’s my turn to buy you a drink.”

I watched him walk away, God, his ass was as perfect too. I turned back to the bar, Raul with a sly grin, “can I get you another drink Nate?”

I grinned back, “yes please, will you bring a round for whole table Raul?”

“Sure thing, and Nate, good luck tonight.” He winked at me and turned to make our drinks.

I headed back to the table and sat down, everyone was staring at me.

Jess finally said, “well?”

I just smiled as Raul set our drinks down, “I won’t be going to supper with you guys tonight, I am having drinks at the Tiki Room at the Hilton.

Everyone held their glasses up as we clinked them together, “Cheers!”

After we had finished our day's activities, I headed to my room to ready for my “date”. I showered, shaved, and spent way too much time picking out something to wear. Jesus, I was so overthinking this, I was just meeting a guy for a drink or two, you would think I had never done this before. I admit it had been a while since I dated anyone other than Seth, but I had my share of success and failures in the year before I had met him. I settled on a nice white button-down shirt and tan shorts and flip flops, I gave myself a final look in the mirror and thought I didn’t look half bad. I probably wouldn’t win a beauty contest, but I wasn’t going to come in last place either. I grabbed my wallet and phone and headed out the door.

I walked into the Tiki Room and quickly scanned the room for Alec, not seeing him, I headed to bar to get a drink. I noticed I was getting a few head turns from both men and women as I walked across the room, a nice little confidence boost. I found a seat at the bar with a good view of the door and ordered my drink.

I checked the time, Alec didn’t say what time we should meet, but I had already been waiting for an hour. Shit, maybe he had second thoughts, I guess I have been stood up before. I decided to finish my drink and head back to my room.
