****Scene 1: Kayla’s POV**********************

Chandler Tower Ballroom, Downtown Harmony,

After the ball had final dropped and we rung in a new year my friends and I continued to celebrate. We were determined to celebrate for as long as we could. We were even more determined to put the previous year and all the bad things that had happened behind us. We were all looking forward to a new year. We all had such high hopes that 2017 would be a far better year than 2016 had ever been.

“Come on Eric, stand right here so that Kayla can take our picture.” Mike pressed as he pulled Eric over to where we were standing

“Why do we have to take a picture?” Eric shrugged. “Babe you know I don’t like taking pictures.”

“Because Eric, twenty sixteen was the literal worse year in recorded history and we have to make documentation that we survived it.” I laughed. “We have to show future Harmonyites that we made it through.”

“Well I never thought about it like that.” Eric laughed. “But you know one thing? There is one good thing to come out of 2016.” He smiled turning to look at Mike

“What’s that?”

“I got to make you my husband silly.” Eric laughed, punching Michael in the arm while he pulled him in for a kiss. I’m in a solid relationship with Kevin but there’s something about watching two guys kiss which is so fucking hot.

“You two knock it off.” I laughed.

After I got Eric and Mike to unlock their lips I managed to snap a few good pictures of those two, despite Eric’s aversion of having his picture taken. They were good. Actually they were very good….if I do say so myself. And I do.

“Eric look at these.” Mike smiled as he looked at the pictures I had just taken. “Don’t they look good?”

“Yeah I guess.” Eric shrugged. “They look alright.”

“Ignore him Kayla. These pics are really good. You have superb photography skills.” Mike added. “Thank you so much Kayla…….”

“Thanks Michael…..but I’m not anything special. It’s just all this good lighting in here.” I giggled. “Not to mention you two are just photogenic as shit despite what your hubby says.”

“You know what? I think this was the first time all of us got a kiss on New Year’s Eve!” I smiled, not waiting for them to answer my question.

“Really?” Eric asked.

“Yeah everyone except maybe Haley but with the way she and Chad have been flirting with each other all night I would be surprised if she did get a kiss by the end of the night.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets a little something more after it’s all said in done.” Charlotte giggled. “If you know what I mean.”

At that moment Brandi brushed right through us nearly knocking us over.

“Where is Brandi going in such a hurry?” I exclaimed, trying to maintain my balance after nearly falling over.

“She’s probably going to meet up with Chad or something.” Haley sighed.

“And you don’t like that.”

“Hell no……She’s all wrong for him.”

****Scene 2: Narrator’s POV**********************

Chandler Tower, Parking deck, Downtown Harmony,

In all of the commotion and celebration of ringing in the New Year and saying goodbye forever to 2016 which had gone down in history as one of the worst years for so many people, people seemed not to notice the strange yet handsome and impeccably dressed man who lurked nearby. Security at Chandler Tower was often pretty tight but this merriment had somewhat relaxed it. To the point that a guest without an invitation had managed to slip pass the security.

This guest did not slip pass security to join in the merry making he did it because he had other motives on his mind. Very sinister ones. Nobody noticed as he surveyed the room, or even when he started helping himself to the food on the tables. As he walked past one table he picked up a phone that an occupant had absentmindedly left sitting there. After looking around he shoved the phone into his pocket and was gone almost as soon as he had come.

He knew that this phone would be useful in his plans because the phone’s owner Chad had only just went to the restroom. So he knew there would be no interference. Once he had reached the elevator he texted his next intended victim pretending telling her to meet him in the parking deck so that they could go home together for a midnight romp.

At first he had some trouble deciding between Haley and Brandi. Eventually he settled on Brandi; telling himself that while both deserved to die it was Brandi who had been the one that had drove him to seek revenge in the first place. Deciding to save poor Haley for a later date.

The killer texted Brandi and soon after she had taken the elevator all the way down to the parking deck where the killer was lying in wait for her.

“Chad! Chad! OH CHAD!” Brandi called, as she stepped off the elevator into the cold and dimly lit parking deck.

“Chad where are you?” Brandi called. “Chad! CHAD!”

Brandi continued to call her boyfriend, hoping that he would come running at the sound of his name being called. But this was to no avail he still did not come.

“Come on now.” Brandi protested. “This isn’t funny. Chad you can come out now?”

“I’m not playing with you CHAD REEVES!! Chad come out now!” Brandi yelled out. “I’m cold and I want to go home. Come out now!”

Suddenly a figure emerged from the shadows. It was the killer. The man was a person Brandi had recognized and had even seen around campus but it wasn’t Chad. Which for this particular situation was not a good thing.

“Oh it’s you.” Brandi retorted unaware that she was in grave danger. “You startled me. Have you seen Chad around here? I’ve been looking everywhere for him.”

“He texted me to meet him down here and he’s nowhere to be found now!” Brandi cried. “Please tell me you’ve seen him.”

“I think I last saw him upstairs headed towards one of the restrooms.” The killer smiled coldly. “And as for the text I think there is a slight confusion because Chad didn’t text you I did.” He smiled as he raised up Chad’s phone for Brandi to see.

“What do you mean you texted me?!” Brandi yelled, grabbing for the phone that the killer had dangled in front of her. “What the hell are you doing with Chad’s phone?”

“I’m sorry but I had to take your precious boyfriend’s phone.” The Text message killer sighed, feigning innocence. “It was the only way I could get you down here. It was the only way I could get you all alone.”

“What do you mean? What are you saying?”

“Don’t play dumb Brandi you and I both know you won’t leave this building alive.” The killer laughed.

“But why I didn’t do anything wrong.” Brandi cried. “Please, please, please don’t kill me. Let me leave and I will never tell anyone who you are. I promise.”

“Don’t worry Brandi you don’t have to promise me anything because I know you won’t tell anyone. Because you won’t be alive to tell anyone anything.” The killer’s lips curling into a wicked smile.

By now Brandi had begun to cry, feeling as all hope was loss for her. Suddenly she noticed that elevator was only a stone’s throw away.

“It will be quick and easy just like all the rest.” The killer smiled. “Don’t worry it will be far better then what you and the rest of those damn people deserve after what you did all those years ago to my family.”

“Your family!? What the hell are you talking about? I don’t even know your family.” Brandi cried. “I just want to live. Please let me go.”

“Blondie was the life you destroyed so far below your radar that you forgot what you, your boyfriend and your friends did to him.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about!” Brandi cried. “Who are you?”

“Let me refresh your memory. A year or two ago your boyfriend and his friends tricked him into sucking dick in exchange for allowing him to join that precious little frat. But it was all a lie because your boyfriend and those brutes he calls friends just wanted some ass to fuck. They didn’t care how many lives they destroyed…

“Those frat guys resorted to gang-rape and recorded the whole encounter for the whole world to see. Instead of being a decent human being you and your fellow Zetas spread lies around campus portraying your boyfriend’s victim as a cock hungry faggot who had been asking for it. The sex starved nerd who wanted the football jock’s cock!”

“Calvin Harris!” Brandi mumbled. “No it can’t be…..he, he, he.”

“He what? He died!” the killer laughed. “You would be right. I’m not Calvin Harris I’m his brother and my real name is Carter. I’ll tell you my real name it’s not like you will live to tell anyone.”

“But you shouldn’t feel sad Brandi because I chose you over Haley. You should be honoured because unlike your boyfriend Chad I made a decision and chose you over the brunette instead of continuing to flirt with her. Don’t worry she’s going to die to but you will be first.”

“I don’t want to be first.” Brandi yelled as she pushed the killer away and ran toward the elevator. When she reached the elevator it would not open.

“Oh Brandi!” the killer called out, moving closer and closer to her. “I think you’ll find that that elevator is out of order.”

“Nooooo!” Brandi yelled dashing for the nearby door that led to a flight of stairs. That was really only used when the main elevators were not working.

Once she was past the door, Brandi dashed up the stairs going as fast as she could but this just wasn’t enough. No matter how much practice a woman gets in heels she can never outrun a killer in heels especially when going up a staircase.

Before she could catch herself Brandi had tripped and was soon tumbling down the staircase. She hit her head and it started to bleed rapidly. There was a lot of blood. The killer gazed down at her lovely face smiling to himself. His work done without him having to do anything.

Brett was so excited to be back with Jake that he wasn’t thinking clearly. He was ready to go home to Jake. While Jake went to the restroom to change his shirt after having spilled something on it, Brett decided to go down to the parking deck and wait for him. While he sat in the darkly lit truck he heard Brandi calling Chad’s name and then he noticed the other person who he had seen around campus before. He just couldn’t remember the guy’s name.

Brett listened to the conversation between Brandi and the killer. The moment the killer started talking about revenge and wanting people dead, Brett knew that he had to go and get help but before he could get out of the truck the killer had returned.

Brett ducked back down under the dashboard. The killer had just turned to leave when he heard a sound coming from one of the parked vehicles. At first the killer brushed it off as nothing more than a breeze but then Brett while in the process of shifting his weight he unfortunately hit one of the buttons causing the alarm to go off. The killer noticed immediately and started to call for him to come out.

“I see I’m not the only one down here tonight.” The killer smiled.

“Come out, come out little bird.” The killer smiled. “Come on out little bird. I promise I’ll find you so it’s better to just come out.”

“If you come out now I’ll make your death quick and painless.” The killer yelled out to his next intended victim. “I promise it will be quick.”

Brett was so terrified that he as soon as he slipped out of the truck he took off running, running right into the killer.

The killer pulled out a knife and plunged the blade into Brett’s side. “I lied.” The killer laughed wickedly as he watched Brett gasp out gripping his side as he fell over.

“Happy New Year!” the killer cackled. “May it be worse than the last.”

****Scene 3: Jake’s POV**********************

Chandler Tower, Parking deck, Downtown Harmony,

New Year ’s Eve was the first time in weeks that I had truly been happy. In the first few hours of the New Year I had won a trip to Monaco and I had won Brett back. Yes my parents were still getting a divorce but I had finally opened myself to Brett…..allowing myself to forgive him. To be honest I had never really gotten over him and now I had more time to spend with him. More time to show him how much I loved him and wanted to be with him.

Brett and I had all year to make up for the months we had been separated. That night I promised myself and Brett that I would spend every waking hour making it up to him. So that I could make up for how much of a jerk I had been the last months. But his first night I had every intention of making sweet, sweet love to him. I had missed that plump little ass of his and I was really looking forward to sliding my cock between those sweet cheeks of his. Good God!

I think I was so nervous to finally be back with Brett that I hadn’t noticed the glass of wine sitting on the edge of the table. As luck would have it some dickhead bumped the table that Brett and I were sitting at causing it to spill all over my shirt.

“Oh shit I have to get this shit out!” I cried. Before I left I handed Brett my keys telling him to meet me downstairs in the parking deck. It took several minutes for me to scrub the red wine out of my shirt but even after all my hard work you could still make it out.

Finally giving up I went back to the ballroom to say goodbye to my friends. We exchanged New Year’s well wishes and then I turned to leave. For some odd reason the elevator wasn’t working so I was forced to take the stairs. The fucking stairs.

I’m a pretty healthy guy and I don’t mind walking up the stairs. But even the most in-shape guy will get tired after walking down all the steps I did. I mean Chandler as like forty stories so that’s a lot of fucking stairs.

When I finally reached the bottom of the stairs I noticed to my horror that there was a body at the bottom of the stairs. I looked closer and noticed that it was Brandi. “BRANDI!” She must have tripped and hit her head because she was bleeding pretty badly.

“Oh my god!” I yelled running through the half open door into the dimly lit parking deck trying to get some kind of help. Any help. “Somebody help! Somebody help! My friend she needs help!

“HELP! My friend she…..needs.” I gasped, noticing the trail of blood on the concrete floor. I followed it to where it ended. It was yet another body. The clothing was very familiar to me. “Brett!” I cried.

No it couldn’t be……No it just couldn’t be I kept saying over and over again to myself as I turned the body over. To my dismay and horror I was looking down at Brett he was coughing and gasping for air and his formally white shirt was drenched in blood….his own blood. “Baby what happened?!” I yelled.

“Jake is that you?” Brett smiled up at me. He was disoriented possibly from the loss of so much blood. “Jake I’m so glad you forgave me for not telling you what I did.”

“Now I can die happy and in your arms.” He smiled, coughing up blood.

“Don’t say that!” I yelled, cradling him in my arms. “Baby tell me who did this to you and I will make them pay.” I cried…breaking down. “Brett I can’t live without you, I-I love you!”

“Jake I’m dying.” Brett cried. The sight of his tears causing my eyes to well up as they fell down in big puddles onto his face.

“Don’t drown me with those tears,” Brett laughed trying to be strong for the both of us.. His laugh was more of a gasp and wheeze. “Where did my big man go? You have to be strong babe you can’t let my death effect your life.”

“How can I not?!” I yelled back “You and I were supposed to have years together. We had our whole life and now I can’t even say the words…….and besides who’s going to go to Monaco with me this summer?”

“Jake admit it you and I both know I don’t have much time left to live.” Brett insisted.

“Brett you are not going to die!” I yelled, tears streaming down my face. “I won’t let you.”

“Jake you were never a good liar.” Brett laughed, barely able to make out his remaining words. “You and I both know this is the end. There is just two much blood and the paramedics need to help Brandi not just me.”

“I want you to call the police and someone who can come help Brandi and then while we wait you can hold me in your arms like we used to. Tell me you love me and kiss me so that I have something to hold onto.”

“Brett don’t say that.” I cried. “We will always be together. I love you. I love you. I love you Brett Barrett.”

“I love you too Jake McCarthy and don’t you ever forget it.” Brett smiled his eyes closing as he started to drift off.

“Brett don’t go…….Brett please don’t go! Please! Please don’t go!!!” I cried. “Just tell me who did this. Tell me who hurt you?!”

“It doesn’t matter it won’t change anything……” Brett replied. At this point he was barely even conscious.

“Give me the name and I’ll make sure it does.” I added, continuing to cry as I watched the man I love die right in front of me.

“Calvin….” Brett whispered before continuing to slip away.

“Calvin who?” I yelled but he didn’t respond.

“Nooooooo!!!” I wailed pulling him close to me. The wine stain in my only good suit was nothing compared to all the blood covering me now. But I didn’t care about that I just wanted to hold Brett.. “NO! No! No!”

“I love you.”

****Scene 4: Mike’s POV**********************

Chandler Tower Ballroom, Downtown Harmony,

It was nearly two o’clock in the morning when I glanced up at the elevator and saw it open. My mouth dropped open when I saw who it was. It was Zach Wilson that cute guy from my English 101 class that I kept seeing around campus. I had invited him to the Winter Gala but I hadn’t expected him to show. But here he was and looking rather handsome I might add.

It made me feel a little ashamed to look at another guy like that. But I couldn’t hide the fact that Zach was very attractive. I don’t know what it is but there’s something about guys with big arms and sharp jaws that cause me to melt.

“Wow you made it.” I smiled as I shook Zach’s hand.

He squeezed my hand hard…

“Yeah I wouldn’t miss a chance to see your sexy ass again.” Zach smiled, holding onto my hand like it was the most glorious hand on the earth. “I just wish I could have made it here before midnight so that I could get a kiss from you.

“Zach stop! My husband is here.” I replied, pulling my hand away from his. My mind was telling me to resist Zach’s advances while my cock begged for it.

“So what? I don’t give a shit.” Zach chuckled, reaching his arm around my back so that he could hug me. I think he mainly did it so that he could feel me up.

“Woah is that your dick poking my stomach!” Zach laughed.

Shit I had a boner and now he knew it. “No Zach!” I cried pulling away from him and trying to adjust myself so that my boner was not noticeable. “Come on my friends are waiting.”

“Damn I knew you had a big dick!” Zach smiled licking his lips. “I can’t wait to taste it.”

“Well you can’t. I’m married remember?” I sighed. My cock was now throbbing at that point just thinking about Zach’s pink lips wrapped around my dick. As I led Zach to my friends all I could think was how dirty I was for thinking about another guy while my husband was in the same room. Stop it. You have to ignore him.

“This is unrelated but dude did you know they got your last name all over this building.” Zach laughed……”Your last name is Chandler right?”

“Well yeah it should my family owns the building…” I smiled back.

“Wow you must be loaded!” Zach roared.

“Yeah but I don’t like to brag.” I smiled, as my new friend Zach followed me to where my friends were gathered. “Eric look who decided to show up.”

“Hey Zach,” Eric smiled, holding out his hand for Zach to shake. “Good to see you man! And Happy New Year!”

“Happy New Year to you too!” Zach smiled. “Eric is it?”

“Yes,”

“Eric you have a really great husband. I hope you know that.” Zach added.

“I do,” Eric smiled back. “And I make sure he knows it every single day and night.”

Our greetings were promptly cut short by the sound of ambulances and police sirens in the near distance. The sound getting close and closer.

“Guys! That was Jake we have to go to the hospital immediately.” Kayla cried. “Somethings happened!”

“What?” Kevin asked.

“It’s Brett and Brandi they were both attacked and it doesn’t look good.”

“What happened? How?!” I cried.

“I don’t know all the details but Jake thinks the Text-message killer had something to do with it.” Kayla cried. Her words leaving us all stunned.
