Chapter 3

Leo

Robbie and I were awoken by the sound of a text message from his mom. “I’m making pancakes, you guys want some breakfast?”

Robbie showed me the text message, I grinned, “pancakes sound really good right now.”

He chuckled as he replied, “be there in 5.”

I asked Robbie, “are you ok?”

He smiled, “sure, are you? Do you regret what we did last night?"

I said, “no, not at all.”

He asked, “so what does it all mean?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, can we take things slow? Let’s just go eat breakfast and we can talk about it later.”

Robbie nodded, “ok, I just don’t want things to be weird between us.”

I gave him a hug, “it won’t be weird, I promise. You are my best friend, and you always will be.”

This seemed to put him a little more at ease, I’m not sure it put me at ease. I still couldn’t wrap my head around being a gay football player in Texas, that is just not something that happens. I really did care for Robbie and the last thing in the world that I would want to do is hurt him. Before I could even think about what it meant between Robbie and I, I had to figure out what it meant for me. I knew I was not ready to come out to anyone, and Robbie wasn’t either. He was worried about how his parents would react, being an only child, he was afraid that they would be disappointed that he may not carry on the family name. Being an only son, I had similar fears. Neither of us were worried about our parents not still loving us, they were always supportive, but this was still going to be hard.

It was easy to keep our secret, since we had always been friends, no one ever questioned us spending so much time together. We made it to our senior year and Robbie was in the stands to see me kick the winning field goal at one of our games. He was the first one I looked for in the stands as my teammates swarmed around me, he was sitting next to my parents and his smile was just as big as my mom and dad’s.

After the coach gave his talk and the team showered, we all headed to Jugheads, the local teen hangout. Robbie, as well as the rest of the school joined us to celebrate. We spent the next two hours reliving the highlights of the game, eating burgers and pizzas. Kyle, Tank and Toby were of course, sitting with their girlfriends, as were a lot of the other members of the football team. I could see Robbie wasn’t having a great time, although he was being a good sport and at least smiling and laughing whenever someone made a stupid joke. To be honest, I only agreed to go to Jugheads, to be a good teammate, and because the quarterback is supposed to be a leader. I would have been much happier to just go home with Robbie and watch a movie or play a video game. I looked at Robbie across the table and motioned with my head, he gave me a smile and nod. This had become our signal that one of us was ready to leave.

Robbie finished his soda, stood up and said, “I’ll you all at school on Monday.”

Kyle chided, “going home already, you light weight?”

Robbie laughed, “yep, you guys are too hard core for me.”

After a little more good-natured ribbing, Robbie headed for the door. I stood and said, “I’m heading out too guys, hey Robbie hang on, I’ll walk home with you.” Since everyone knew we were neighbors, and we had always done this, no one questioned us. A few of the others also started to leave. When we got a couple blocks away, I asked Robbie, “you weren’t having a good time, were you?”

He shrugged, “it was ok, it’s just that I don’t seem to have much in common with Kyle, Toby and Tank anymore. At least not as much as we used to.”

I nodded, “yeah, I know, but I really do appreciate you being there for me, at least at the game.”

Robbie smiled, “of course, I’ll always be there for your games. Just like you have always come to all my boring concerts or speech contests.”

I laughed, “I would call them all boring, I really liked that after diner speech you gave on being a nerd.”

He chuckled, “well, my speech coach told me to write about something I know, so…”

Robbie was good at giving speeches and he had a wonderful sense of humor. While he was quiet and reserved most of the time, he could get up in front of an audience and flawlessly talk for five minutes and leave everyone either in awe or laughing. I always told him that I would not be surprised if he would end up writing speeches for some Politian someday.

As we got to our houses, Robbie asked, “you want to come to my place and find a movie to watch?”

I smiled, “I would love that, let me pop in and tell my folks.”

I followed Robbie into his house, his folks were watching tv. We sat and chatted with them for a few minutes, me telling them about the game.

They congratulated me and said they were getting ready to go to bed.

Robbie said, “we are going to the basement to watch a movie, if that’s ok.”

His mom said, “sure, just don’t stay up too late and Leo, you are welcome to spend the night if you want. You did tell your mom that you are here, right?”

I smiled, “yes ma’am.”

She said goodnight as Robbie, and I headed downstairs. He had talked his parents into letting him move his bedroom to the basement. They already had a family room set up, so he had a place to watch tv and he had his own bathroom. So, they simply switched Robbie’s room with the guest room.

We sat on the couch and found a movie to watch. Over the last year since we first took our relationship to the next level, we had only kissed and sucked each other. Neither of us had been brave enough to go any further or ask the other how they felt about the next step.

About halfway through the movie, Robbie had his head on my shoulder, and I had my arm around him. He turned to me, and we started to kiss, a few minutes later, we were ridding ourselves of our clothes. I laid back on the couch as Robbie got on top of me, his hard cock pointed at my face, I was more than happy to wrap my lips around his already hard manhood. He did the same to mine, we had both learned what the other liked since we started our sexual exploration. I really liked it when Robbie squeezed my nuts while he sucked me. He liked me to suck on his balls while I jacked his dick. Robbie was pleasing me as I let his nuts fall from my mouth, instead of going back to his cock, I started to lick the area between his nuts and his ass. He moaned at the new sensation and turned to look at me.

He panted, “holy shit, what are you doing?”

I chuckled, “trying something new, do you want me to stop?”

He took a deep breath, “God no.”

I pulled back slightly, which lined his sweet hole with my mouth, I stuck my tongue out and licked across his crack.

He gasped, “oh fuck.”

I said, “shh, you want to walk up your folks?”

Robbie said, “sorry, I wasn’t expecting that.”

I went back to rimming Robbie as he squirmed above me, he was obviously enjoying my new skill. Once I had him close, Robbie pulled away. I asked, “did you like that?”

He nodded, “God yes, but you were going to make me cum, can I do that to you?”

I smiled, “you can do anything you want to me.”

He got off me and pushed my legs up, revealing my waiting pucker. He gave me a quick kiss and then leaned down to my hole. I felt his warm breath first, this was going to be incredible. Shivers ran up my spline when he raked his tongue across my opening for the first time. Then he really went to town, licking and pushing his tongue in and out of my ass, it was amazing. When I saw this on the video I watched online, I never imagined it would feel so good. Robbie came up and gave me a kiss, he asked, “how did I do?”

I smiled, “you did great. Would you like to try something else?”

He gave a questioning looked, “what did you have in mind?”

I stroked his hard cock, “will you fuck me?”

His eyes went wide, “are you sure?”

I nodded, “yes, I want to feel you inside me.”

Robbie quickly found some lotion that we could use for lube. I was still laying on the couch with my legs in the air when he returned. He coated my hole and his cock with the lotion as he positioned himself for entry. I felt the head of his cock, he looked at me one more time and I gave him a nod. He guided his dick and slowly pushed in, I grabbed his hips when I felt the head pass through the first ring of muscle. He froze and asked, “are you ok?”

I took a deep breath, “yes, just go slow.” The pain subsided, I pulled him in further until I felt his nuts against my ass cheeks. I gave him a smile, “that feels good.” I pushed him back and then pulled him in again. Robbie then took over and started to fuck me, send jolts of pleasure whenever he hit my sweet spot. I had played with my ass before when I was jacking off, I even used the handle of a small hairbrush, but this was so much better. Why hadn’t we ever tried this before? We were kissing as Robbie continued to piston in and out, my hard cock was trapped in between our stomachs.

Robbie panted, “I’m getting close.”

I said, “cum inside me.”

A second later, I felt the head of his cock swell and my guts were being flooded with Robbie’s love juices. Without even touching my cock, I exploded, coating our abs with my hot seed as we kept our lips locked together. Robbie’s cock slipped from my hole as he stayed on top of me, and we caught our breath.

Robbie asked, “how long have you wanted to do that?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know, have you never thought about wanting to try it?”

He said, “yeah, I guess I have, but I didn’t know how to bring it up.”

I chuckled, “from now on, I think we should be able to talk about anything.”

He nodded, “I suppose you’re right. We should probably get cleaned up, are you going to spend the night?”

I gave him a kiss, “of course.”

This became our new routine every week after my football games. Robbie wanted to bottom the next time, he liked it as much as I did. So, after that, we took turns fucking each other.

After our fifth game, we were still undefeated and were ranked number two in the state. Our next game was against the Hillsdale Cowboys, they were ranked number one and we had been rivals for years. We all knew this was going to be our biggest game all year. We were well prepared for the game, so were the Cowboys, the score was tied at 7 points each at half time. We drove down the field and scored another touchdown early in the third quarter. I lined up to kick the extra point, but from out of nowhere, a 250-pound linebacker flew through the line and blocked my kick. We were able to keep them out of the end zone through the third quarter. About halfway through the fourth quarter, they scored again, the score was now 14 to 13, we were down by one point. We were down to the last minute of the game, I handed the ball off to Kyle, he had a long run, but was tackled on the 35-yard line. We didn’t get any further on our next two plays, it was fourth down and we needed 8 yards for a first down, but there were under 30 seconds left in the game. Coach Porter called our final time out, he said, “if we don’t get the first down, the game is over.” He turned to me, “Foxx, do you think you can hit a 45-yard field goal?”

I had been kicking from almost 50 yards all week in practice, I nodded, “yeah, I got it coach.”

We ran back out on the field and lined up, the announcer said, “the Bulldogs are going to kick a field goal, there’s the snap, the kick is up, he’s got the distance, oh no the ball hit the left upright, the kick is no good.”

I sat on the bench facing away from the rest of the team as they showered, I was leaning forward, holding my face in my hands. My teammates patted me on my shoulder as they one by one they filed out of the locker room. Coach even came by to try and console me, he told me to not let it get me down, and we needed to move on and get ready for next week’s game. He was right, it was just one game, and we need to keep winning. Besides, there was a good chance that we would meet the Cowboys again in the playoffs. I took a deep breath and took my shower and turned out the lights of the locker room as I left.

As I stepped outside, I heard, “hey Leo, are you ok?”

I turned to see Robbie standing around the corner of the school. I walked toward him, and he gave me a hug, I said, “yeah, I’ll be fine, just disappointed I guess.”

He said, “come on, I’ll walk you home.”

I gave Robbie a slight smile, “thanks, I can always count on you to make me feel better.”

He smiled back, “of course you can, you are my best friend.”

I gave him another hug and we began our walk home. We walked in silence, Robbie knew it was what I needed, he didn’t try to get me to talk about it. He just knew I needed to deal with my feelings. I appreciated him just being there.

He walked me to my door, he gave me a quick kiss and asked, “you want to hit the golf course tomorrow?”

I shook my head, “I think I am going to work on kicking.”

He smiled, “if you want someone to help, let me know.”

I said, “you would do that?”

Robbie shrugged, “sure, I don’t know how much help I’ll be, but I can chase balls for you. If you want me to.”

I gave him another quick kiss, “I would love your help, thank you.”

He said, “I’ll see you in the morning.”

Robbie was sitting on his front steps when I walked out of my house the next day. I had called my coach, and he was going to set some footballs out the back of the school, so I could practice. For the next four hours, I kicked the ball through the uprights, moving it further away every time I made it five times in a row. Robbie was chasing the balls and throwing them back to me, by the time I was done I was hitting from more than 50 yards. We decided to get in a round of golf that afternoon, I thanked Robbie all day, for his support and help.

We won the rest of our games, I didn’t miss a field goal for the rest of the season, or in the first two rounds of the playoffs. We made it to the state championship game, our opponent was of course, Hillsdale. The game played out very similar to the first game, we were down by two points as we got to the last 20 seconds of the game. We needed about 15 yards to get into a range that I was comfortable kicking from. Coach sent in the play, I handed the ball off to Kyle, he broke through the line, and I was running behind him. It looked like he was going to break free, then out of nowhere, a hand grabbed his leg just enough for him to trip and fall to the ground. He had gained about 10 yards. Coach called our last time out, we wouldn’t have time to run another play. Coach Porter grabbed my facemask, he said, “it’s about 52 yards, I know you have the leg, now tell me you got this.”

I looked him straight in the eyes, “I got this.”

I ran back to the huddle and told the team we were kicking, they all gave me words of encouragement as we ran to the line. I lined up for the biggest kick of my high school career, I looked in the stands and saw Robbie next to my parents. My dad was holding my mom’s hand, and she was holding Robbie’s, they all three gave a smile and a nod. The center sent the ball flying back to the holder and I ran to the ball and connected, I felt my foot connect. Everything went to slow motion, the ball cleared all the hands that the Cowboys were holding up. I watched as the ball was headed right down the center of the goal post. I blacked out, was it long enough? I opened my eyes just as the rest of the team was hoisting me up on their shoulders and the announcer screamed, “the Bulldogs are your new state champs.”

I was caried to the sideline, coach was once again grabbing my facemask, he hollered, “you cleared it by ten yards.” Fans flooded the field as we all celebrated, I found my parents and Robbie running toward me. Mom gave me a big hug, followed by a hug from dad and Robbie. I know this is just a high school football game, but I couldn’t help but think that this was the best thing to ever happen in my life. As the team was reveling in our victory, I heard my dad yell for me, I turned to see him talking to another man as he waved me over.

Dad said, “Leo, this Phil Krahmer, he wants to talk to you.”

I smiled, “Mr. Krahmer, nice to meet you.”

He said, “you too son, that was a nice game you played there.”

I beamed, “thank you sir.”

Mr. Krahmer said, “I am a scout for Oklahoma State, we would like to talk to you about coming to Stillwater and playing football with us.”

I was shocked, I looked at my dad, he was beaming with pride, I stuttered, “that would be great.”

The next weekend my parents and I were headed to Oklahoma for a campus visit and we were guests for their next game. I laughed with my dad about the fact that the team’s mascot was the Cowboys, the same as the team that we had just beaten for the state championship.

Over the next couple of months, we took calls from several other colleges and went on more campus visits. They were all recruiting me for kicking, which was just fine with my mom, she figured I would have less chance of getting hurt if I didn’t play quarterback. I was just happy to be playing college football, and dad was glad that I was getting a scholarship. After all our campus visits, we decided Oklahoma State was the best fit. Next fall, I will be headed to Stillwater Oklahoma to start my college career.

Robbie had been supportive, but after I had made my decision, he was kind of quiet. We went out to play a round of golf one weekend.

I asked, “so, have you decided where you are going to college?”

He shrugged, “I guess so.”

I said, “ok, so are you going to tell me where?”

Robbie paused, “I got a scholarship to Baylor.”

My eyes went wide, “that is awesome, Robbie. When did you find out?”

He said, “about two weeks ago.”

I asked, “why didn’t you tell me?”

Robbie shrugged, “I didn’t want it to influence your decision on where you went, but I was hoping the Baylor might try to recruit you.”

It suddenly hit me, for the first time in our lives, Robbie and I wouldn’t be living next door to each other.
