I checked into my dorm at the University of Memphis and walked up to second floor to find my room. I found room 229 and opened the doorto find my roommate was already unpacking. He turned as I walked in, “hi, I am Brent,”

I stuck out my hand, “Hi Brent, I am Mike.”

“Hi Mike, is it ok that I took this bed?”

“Sure, no problem.”

“So where are you from Mike?”

“Westburg, how about you?”

“I am from right here, well a suburb anyway, about 40 minutes from here. My dad has a plastic manufacturing company, they make parts for the automotive industry, mostly vents for car air conditioners.”

He went on for a while, I just started to tune him out after a bit when he started to talk about their house at the lake and their fancy cars. He said that he just needed to get through college, and he had a cushy job waiting for him at the family business. I knew we didn’t have much in common but figured I just needed to make the best of it.

He asked, “What is your major?” After he told me his was business, of course.

I said, “journalism, I would like to write for a newspaper.”

“Does that pay well?”

I thought, this must be what it is like to be rich, everything must revolve around money. I said, “well, there probably are better paying jobs, but I really like writing,”

“To each their own, I guess. Hey, I am meeting a couple of my buddies to go out for a while do you want to come along?”

I said, “thanks for asking, but I think I will finish unpacking and will probably turn in early. I have orientation at 8 tomorrow.”

“No problem, I will be quiet when I come back.”

“Thanks, I’ll see you later.”

After he left, I finished putting my things away and took a walk around campus and got a bite to eat. I went back to my room and read a book for a while and turned in around 10:00. As I was trying to get to sleep, I thought about Brent, I didn’t think we were going to best friends, but I had been around guys like him before. My family never had a lot of extra money, but we always had what we needed, I just reminded myself that it wasn’t a competition, I just let him brag all he wanted.

Classes started and I was really enjoying them, I began to make a few friends and joined a study group, so I didn’t spend too much time in my room. Brent also had a lot of activities to keep him busy, so we really didn’t see each other that much. He and his buddies went home most weekends, since they lived so close, so I usually had the room to myself.

I found that I could study and work the best at the library and was usually there three nights a week. I had yet to meet anyone that might be gay, and I wasn’t sure how to find such a friend, so I was spending my Saturday nights in the library. I spent those nights doing research on Walter and Ellis, the college had a large collection of newspapers on microfilm. I had yet to find any new information, but I kept looking. Saturday nights were not particularly busy, as you can imagine, most nights the only other person in the building was the guy working the front desk.

He was a student; the college had a work-study program that allowed students to work part-time to cover a portion of their tuition. After I had shown up for the third week in a row, he looked up from the book he was reading and gave me a big smile, “hi, back again huh?”

I said, “yeah, this is what someone who has no social life does on a Saturday night.”

We shared a laugh as I walked to the area where they kept the local newspapers, the library subscribed to all the small-town papers so students could keep up to date on their hometowns. I always started my evenings reading the Reporter, I noticed that Mr. Johnson had replaced me with Jerry Harris, he was a couple years behind me and was doing a good job.

We had exchanged hellos before, but this was the first time we actually talked. I noticed his smile when he greeted me, it was a wide grin that showed off his perfect white teeth and showed off his cute dimples. For the first time I looked into his eyes, they were a deep chocolate brown and they closed to a squint when he smiled. He was about my height with a nice build, not real skinny but not overly muscular either. I suddenly found myself attracted to a black man, I flashed back to Walter’s journal, was this how he felt when he first met Ellis? I went to the table and read the current edition of the Reporter, but it took longer than usual as my eyes kept wandering back to the front desk. I finished the paper then headed back to the microfilm machine again looking back to check out my new friend, at least he was a friend in my mind.

The next week I kept thinking about him, our study group met at the library on Tuesday, I looked to see if he was working, I was disappointed that he wasn’t. Finally, Saturday came, and I headed out a little bit earlier than I normally did, again I was disappointed to see a girl sitting at the front desk. I went to read what Mr. Johnson had to say and again I was disappointed to find last week’s edition of the Reporter. I went over to continue my Walter search. I was reading through an article when I heard, “hey thanks Kathy. I really appreciate you covering for me, I will be in early next week for you.”

She smiled back, “no problem, I didn’t have any plans tonight anyway.”

I was glad to see that he was here as I went back to my article, all the while looking back toward him as often as I could. I turned back to the microfilm viewer and focused on what I was reading, I was startled when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

“Hey Mike Jenkins, from Westburg, how is your research going?”

I turned to see those cute dimples and wide grin, “how did you know my name?”

“You use your student ID to check out books, I have to record it, and you always read the Westburg Reporter, so I assume you are from Westburg.”

“Wow pretty good detective work, right on all accounts.”

“I am Andrew Watson by the way.”

“Nice to meet you, Andrew.”

“Oh, here is this week’s paper, the mail was late, and Kathy didn’t have time to put it out yet.”

“Thanks.”

"What are you researching? I notice that everything you are looking at is from 1922, I have to put the microfilm away after you are done.” Andrew explained.

He sat in the chair next to me as I told him about finding the journal and how it ended, and that I was trying to find out what happed to Walter and Ellis.

“Wow, that is quite a mystery, I am a history major, so this kind of thing is very interesting to me. Have you ever checked the newspapers from neighboring towns?”

“Damn, I never thought of that, do you think they would have anything about stuff that happened in Westburg?”

“Sure, if it is a big enough story they might. What are some of the towns that are nearby?”

I told him a few names and he started going through the drawers and handing them to me. I searched for articles, printing off anything that I thought might have any information in it.

Suddenly Andrew looked at his watch, “Shit Mike, it’s 10:15, I am supposed to close at 10.”

“Sorry, let me help you put this stuff away.” Andrew locked the door and shut out the front lights and we finished cleaning up.”

He said, “Hey, if you want to look those articles over, there is an all-night diner just off campus, we could go get a cup of coffee.”

I smiled, “that would be great.”

We ordered our coffee and started to talk about everything, our families, high school years, classes we were taking, what we wanted to do after college. Before we knew it, it was 1am, we decided we better get back to the dorms.

The next week I read over the articles that I had printed out; one caught my attention. It was about a 19-year-old drowning in the pond, I read further and found that the kid was the sheriff’s son. I wasn’t sure if it was connected in any way, but I added it to my saved documents.

On Saturday night I told Andrew about what I found, and we searched further to determine if it was relevant. We printed out a few more articles and this week we watched the time a little better and we cleaned up so that Andrew could close on time.

As we left the library Andrew said, “That must be some interesting journal.”

I had just given him the highlights, I didn’t say anything about the sex, I was not sure where he stood on the whole gay thing. In all the time that we had talked the week before that was probably the only thing we didn’t discuss, I didn’t know if he was straight or gay and he never asked me if I was.

I decided to take a chance, “if you want to read it, we can go back to my room, my roommate is gone for the weekend.”

Andrew said, “sure, I would love to read it.”

We got back to my room, and I pulled the journal out of my desk, we sat on my bed and began to read. Andrew’s eyes were glued to the pages, and I think I saw him adjust himself several times, was he getting turned on? I just watched him as he read, God he was becoming more attractive every time I saw him, and he was so easy to talk to. I was telling him things that I never even told Kyle, the only other person that I would tell these things to was my brother Steve. We used to have great talks before he was killed, man I missed him.

Andrew finally looked up from the journal, “damn man, this is pretty heavy stuff. I can see why you want to find out what happened.”

I said, “I don’t know why, but I feel such a connection with Walter, I feel like I just want to help him, but I don’t know how. Maybe somehow if I find what happened I can help him.”

“I know what you mean, the way he describes his feelings toward Ellis, I want to feel that toward someone.”

I looked him in the eyes, “I was thinking the same thing.”

He returned my stare, “Yes, that has to be something special, knowing that you have met that one person you were meant to be with.”

Holy shit was he still talking about Walter and Ellis? We never took our eyes off each other, I felt my heart skip a beat, damn it, what do I say, quick think of something.

I stammered, “yes special, I think I am starting to feel that right now.”

Shit, what did I just say, why did I say that? Andrew didn’t flinch, still looking deep into my eyes.

“Me too.” As he leaned in, and our lips met.

We fell back on the bed and explored each other mouths with our tongues, our hands roaming across each other’s bodies. I pushed Andrew’s shirt up over his head, man he was perfect, a nicely defined chest with just a small patch of hair in the center, two quarter sized nipples that sprang to attention when I ran my fingers across them. His stomach was toned and flat with just a slight six pack and v that led to a treasure trial the disappeared into his pants. I kissed my way down to his chest giving each nipple a couple licks, then down his stomach until I reached the top of his jeans. I looked up at Andrew as I started to unbuckle his belt, then his pants and I pulled them and his underwear off in one motion. His hard cock flopped out and landed on his stomach with a thump. God, it was beautiful, this was the first time that I had seen a black dick in person as well as one that was uncut. I reached down and pulled the fore skin back and was just studying it, the prefect length and thickness, a dab of precum leaked from the slit, I scooped it up with my tongue. Andrew let out a moan as I fondled his balls and wrapped my lips around his erect member and started to bob up and down. I loved the taste and the feeling of him hitting the back of my throat, when he put his hands on head I was in heaven, and from the sounds Andrew was making, he was enjoying it too.

Andrew pulled me off his dick, “you are going to make me cum, I want this to last a little longer.” He stood me up and took my clothes off and we made out as our cocks rubbed together, he lay me on the bed and went to work on my dick. Jesus, what he was doing with his tongue, this was definitely not his first time, just as I was getting close, he released my cock and sucked my nuts into his mouth. He was jacking my dick and rolling my nuts around in his mouth bringing me to the brink of climax once again. He let go of my dick and pushed my legs up and without warning dove his tongue into my asshole, I thought I was going to jump out of my skin. “Oh my God Andrew, that is incredible.” He continued his assault as I squirmed under him, I thought Kyle was a skilled lover, but Andrew was putting him to shame.  He came up gave me another kiss, “did you like that?” I panted, “God yes.”

He kept my legs up as he spit on his dick and aimed it at my hole. “Yes Andrew, please fuck me.” He put his cock head to my ass and slowly started to enter, giving me time to adjust to his size until his balls were against my ass cheeks. I started to push back, and Andrew began to move in and out until we got a steady rhythm going, he was hitting the sweet spot on each stroke. Andrew leaned forward so we could kiss, I was so lost in the moment, I grabbed his ass and pulled him in as tight as I could. My cock was trapped between our stomachs as Andrew continued to fuck me, without warning I erupted and my cum coated us both, I shot the biggest load that I ever remember in my nineteen years. Andrew let out a load grunt and I felt my guts being coated with his hot seed, as he spasmed on top of me for what seemed like five minutes. Andrew gave a final peck and smiled down at me, “I have never seen anyone shoot a load that big, you must have liked it.”

I smiled, “God yes, that was incredible. I haven’t actually had sex for about two years, since Kyle moved away. I really needed that.”

He said, “Damn, two years, I thought that six months was a long time.”

“So, it has been six months for you?”

“Yep, I had a friend in high school and the last time we got together was the night before he left for the army, after we graduated.”

We caught our breath and decided to take a shower. We started back up in the shower and this time Andrew asked me to fuck him, I gladly agreed. We spent the rest of the weekend together.

I started to spend even more time in the library just to be around Andrew and every weekend that either of our roommates were gone, we would spend the nights in each other’s arms.
