“In my pocket,” said Mitch.  “There’s some lube.”

I kissed him before retrieving the bottle from his pants pocket.  I spread some over my hardness and his cute little pucker.  I slipped my thumb into him, and he responded with a smile and pulled his knees to his chest before pushing them apart.

I continued to “thumb” him, and he would take a quick intake of air each time my thumb was pushed inside.  I was about to add a finger to the thumb when Mitch said, “Please, Aaron, don’t make me beg.”

My dick penetrated him with a minimum of pressure.  Mitch’s eyes rolled back and he gasped as I entered him.  I leaned forward; the angle changed.  I wanted to fuck him faster, but I willed myself to slow down.  I kissed him and then pressed our chests together as I ran the tip of my tongue around his outer ear.  I could feel his cock throb between us, and as he came, it pushed up against my belly.

I continued my slow pace, fighting the urge to come and end our lovemaking.  His muscles gripped my dick and a wave of pleasure washed over me with each gentle thrust.  I’m not sure how long we were joined together but I imagined I could hold back and softly fuck him all afternoon long.

But Mitched turned his head toward mine.  “I’m in love with you, Aaron.”

Those words ended my control.  I pushed myself deep within him and filled him.  I was still deep inside him when I told him, “I love you, too.”  Loving Mitch would give me the happiest times of my life.  It would also take me down the road of despair, despair greater than any I could have imagined.

I’d always loved Christmas, but this year, I was miserable.  I didn’t get to talk to Mitch for several days, and the text messages were non-existent.  After Christmas, I kept myself busy by cleaning everything as if my life depended on it.  The upstairs at my house was impeccable by the morning of January 30.  That’s when I received the first message.

“Airport trouble.  The radar was out so we couldn’t leave.  It’s fixed now.  The party is still on.  It starts at 6 pm.  You can come early.  I can’t come to see you when I get back because there are too many things to do for the party.  L.U.”

I read and reread the text message.  I was disappointed that I couldn’t see him before the party, but I was hoping that we could be alone at midnight.  I’d told my parents that I had been invited to a New Year’s party.  My dad said he was glad.  My mother just walked away.  I still hadn’t told either of them that my date was a guy.  Somehow, as I got older, I had a feeling my father would be more understanding than my mother.

On New Year’s Eve, I was nervous.  I wanted so much to make a good impression, for Mitch's sake.  I shined my shoes twice.  I’d used whitening strips on my teeth every night since Christmas, and I used another that day.  My haircut was four days old and looked the way it was supposed to.  I’d watched youtube videos so I could press my shirt correctly.  By four o’clock, I was dressed.  I didn’t want to wear my suit jacket because I didn’t want it to get wrinkled in the car.

I got final approval of my tie from my father and off I went.  I texted Mitch that I was leaving, and I drove carefully.  He was standing by an open garage door when I arrived.  He was pointing into the garage, and I opened the window to see whether he wanted me to park inside.

“Of course.  You are staying after the party, right?”

“Like we said,” I replied.

“And you brought some clothes?”

“In this little bag here.”  I pointed to the passenger seat.

Mitch smiled.  “This will be the safest place for your car.”

I parked and got out of the car with my bag.  “Are we sleeping in the pool house?”  I grinned at him.

“Nope.”  He came forward and kissed me.  “I’ve missed you so much.”

“Not as much as I’ve missed you.”

“That’s not possible.  You look fucking hot, by the way.”

“Wait until I put my jacket on.”  I completed my suit by slipping it on.

“Mmm.  Could you fuck me while wearing that suit?”

“Don’t know.  I can try.”

Mitch giggled.  His voice seemed lower.  I felt a twinge in my crotch.

“Should I leave my bag in the car?”  I lowered my voice.  “I’ve brought a fresh bottle of lube for that tight little pussy of yours.”

“You’re the one with the pussy; I’ve got a man-cunt.”  Mitch smiled again.

“You’ve got a hole that begging for my love rod.”

At that, he burst out laughing.  “Love rod?  Are we in a cheap porn video?”

I moved closer to him.  “Nothing about us or what’s happening between us is cheap.”  I swallowed hard.  “I’m in love with you.  I can’t wait to finish school and get a good job so you don’t have to be a lawyer if you don’t want to, and we can be together.”

“So I could be a public defender?” he asked.  “And you’d still love me even though they don’t make much money?”

“What I mean is that I want you to do anything you want.”

“You’re one in a million, Aaron.  I wish we were naked in bed right now.  I’d snuggle up next to you and then show you how much I love you.”

“Well, if you want to make the rounds of the party and then sneak away, then just tell me.  I’m at your command.”

“Completely?”

I raised an eyebrow.  “At least for tonight.”

“Bring your bag.”

I followed Mitch out into the gardens that sprawled behind the huge house and into the mansion through a small door on the east end.  We walked down a short hall and up some stairs.  He took me to a rather opulent-looking bedroom and took my bag from me.  “We’ll leave it here.  I want to introduce you to my mother.  My father won’t be here.  He’s still in the hospital; the doctors are concerned that he could get pneumonia.”

“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.”

“Thanks.”  Mitch led me to a balcony overlooking a huge room with a long, large table in the center lined with what seemed to be parallel rows of place settings.  “Oh, she’s over there, next to the finger food table.”

I scanned that side of the room and saw a woman dressed in a white shirt with a black skirt pointing to various plates on the table as she spoke to a woman dressed in a deep red evening gown.  I squeezed Mitch’s hand before we headed down.  I knew he had to be someone very special to be invited to such an affair.  The son of the gardener and cook, or maybe she was a chef, would normally be relegated to being a server or dishwasher.  He certainly was special.

We walked across the polished floor toward the women in the corner.  I felt small in that big room and definitely out of place.  There were only a few other people in the room.  Most seemed to be checking on things to make sure everything was in order.

“Mother?” Mitch announced our arrival.

The woman in white turned her head and smiled.  The woman in red looked over; her face displayed agitation.

“There you are, Mitch,” said the woman in the evening gown.  Crap, I thought, he’s pissed her off.  “Where were you?  Are the valets ready for the guests' arrival?”

“Yes.  It’s been taken care of.”

“You were supposed to let me know,” she barked.

“I told you that I would take care of it as well as make sure the coat checking was set up.  I thought you trusted me to do what I said.  I didn’t think I needed to confirm.”

“I just want everything to go perfectly.”  Her voice was softer.

“I know you do, Mother,” said Mitch.

What? I thought.  The woman in red is Mitch’s mother.  I turned toward the other woman.  She was attending to some details on the table.

“I want to introduce you to my really good friend.  Mother, this is Aaron Smith.  Aaron, this is my mother, Emily Epstein.”

I put my hand out, it was trembling.  “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Epstein.”

“Likewise,” she said.  Her eyes bore into me.

“Mitch!” called a man near the center of the table.

He turned.  “Excuse me for a moment,” he said as he headed to talk to the man.

“Mr. Smith.”

I turned and looked at Mitch’s mother.

“I know my son prefers boys, and while I don’t know you, I have been aware of your… um… presence, shall we say.”

My heart began to thump.

“For instance, I know about your encounter in the theater, and the time you spent in the pool house.”

I stared blankly at her.

“I want you to know that I want the best for my son.  You may be a wonderful person who just made some unfortunate choices.  Perhaps you’ll turn out to be the love of his life.  I just want you to know that I’ve been watching and will continue to do so.  Probably not directly, I pay people to watch for me, but if you’re up to anything, I’ll know.”

“Allow me to be frank with you.  I thought Mitch worked here; stayed here because that’s what gardeners and servants sometimes do.  I did think it strange that he’d been invited to this party and was allowed to bring a guest, but I’d heard that people who live in mansions are sometimes eccentric.  Your son has only one thing that I want.”

I saw her jaw clench.

“And he’s already given it to me.”

Her eyes narrowed.  “And what was that?”

I saw Mitch walking toward us.  “He’s coming back.  I think you should ask him.”

Mitch’s eyes darted between his mother and me.  He could sense the tension.  “What happened?”

I reached out and brushed my fingers against the sleeve of his jacket.  “Nothing really.  Your mother told me she loves you and wants the best for you, and since that’s what I want to do, we’re discovering that we’re on the same page.”

“Aaron told me that the only thing he wants from you he already has,” she added.  “You’ve already given it to him.   What did you give him?”

Mitch bit his lower lip and his eyes welled up.  He looked confused.

“What did you give him, Mitch?” her voice was a mix of concern and anger.

His lip began to quiver.

“Mitch,” I said, “she knows you’re gay.  And, she knows I’m gay.”

His mouth fell open slightly.

“What the fuck did you give him?”

Mitch shook his head.  I reached out again and touched his fingers.  He looked at me.  “I told him that I love him.  I gave him my love.”

I nodded.  My eyes began to tear up.  “And that’s the only thing you ever need to give me.”  I smiled.

“What a crock of shit,” his mother scoffed, “Wait until your father finds out you’ve been sucking the dick of the first guy you meet in a dark theater.”  She turned her back and walked over to a table serving wine.

“Did you tell her about that?” Mitch asked.

“No.  She told me.  She has people watching you.  She also knows that we were together in the pool house.”

“I’m not sure what to say.”  He blew out a deep breath.  He bit his lower lip again and shrugged.  “Let’s go meet my brothers and sisters.”

We walked to the end of the room and into a small hall.  Off to the right was a smaller room with a fish tank along one wall.  Two young men and two young women stood together chatting in low voices.

“Aaron, these are my siblings.”

I smiled at the use of that word.

“Everyone, this is Aaron.”

A man about my height with perfect hair stepped forward.  His strong jaw and perfect features reminded me of a fashion model.  “I’m Doug.  It’s nice to meet you, Aaron.”

“Nice to meet you,” I said as I shook his hand.

“I’m Amelia,” said the woman with shoulder-length blond hair as she raised her right hand.

“Bedelia,” chuckled the other man.

“He should have been named Bozo because he thinks he’s a clown,” said Doug.

“My real name is Stuart,” he said.

“Little,” said Amelia.

I smiled.

“They’re twins,” Mitch told me.

Stuart was nice looking, but he was nowhere near as handsome as Doug and certainly not as cute as Mitch.

“And I’m Princess,” announced the petite brunette with short hair.  “But call me Helga.”

“Helga?” I’m not sure why I repeated it back to her.

“It’s the only name I hate worse than Princess.”

“We all call her ‘Helga’,” nodded Doug.  “Except for Mother.”

“It’s really nice to meet all of you,” I said.

“So,” Amelia stood up, and Doug stepped back.  “Are you,” she looked at Mitch and then at me.  Mitch’s cheeks turned red.  “I guess you are,” she concluded.

“He’s your boyfriend, Mitch?” asked Doug.

I saw Mitch look directly at Doug without saying anything.

Doug grabbed him in a bear hug.  “Fan-fucking-tastic, little brother.”  When he stepped back, I saw tears in Doug’s eyes.  “I was worried you’d pick a life of being completely alone instead of going out and finding someone.”

Doug turned and hugged me.  The rest of them took turns hugging me and hugging Mitch.

Mitch finally said, “The truth is that he came up to me.”

“I couldn’t help it,” I said.  There was this incredibly handsome guy who kept looking at me.  He lured me in.”  I was amazed at how warm and inviting they all were.  I just knew it was going to be a great new year.  I couldn’t have been more wrong.
