I rested my feet up on the dashboard as I looked out the window listening to Katy Perry. I looked over seeing my mom chatting away with my sister, Sarah, who was in the backseat utilizing her talent for being able to hold a verbal and texting communications at the same time without ever stopping. She is undoubtedly texting her friends back home about her plans and all the hot. Rich guys that are going to be there.

We had been going to the Hampton's every summer for the past five years ever since my grandparents died and left their beach house to my dad. I, personally, was excited to go because for me it was a get away from all the drama that transpired at the end of the year of school that was my boyfriend was fucking one of the guys on the Cheer leading squad.

Ever since I caught them he has been texting me non-stop since I left for the trip. Hearing my sister chat and hear the constant  gossiping it was to much to handle so I just put my ear buds in and lose my way in the music.

When we pulled up the beach house we were met by my father who had flown in a day early to get the house cleaned and dusted for our arrival. All the windows and doors were open, the white curtains bellowing as the beach wind blew through the house. My father who was dressed in white shorts and shirt wearing sandals in his feet waved at us as we parked.

My sister was the first to get out of the car before the engine stopped and hugged my dad and ran up to her room. No doubt starting her photo shoot of snaps throughout the house and update her whereabouts to her friends and people in the Hampton's.

Taking off my seat belt I feel my mothers warm hand on my shoulder. Taking my ear buds out I turn my head to her.

He face was sad but that look where any mother is about to give some speech to their hurting child.

"Mom I don't want too..."

She holds one finger cutting me off.

"I know you don;t wanna hear about hope and other fish in the sea but look I know you are hurting but we are far from home and in the next three months it will all by over." She continues. "I want you to meet new people and forget about that asshole"

I couldn't help but chuckle.

She smiles. "He didn't deserve you Alex and you will find a guy who's much more deserving and worthy of you. Guy's like him like weak minded people that will boost his ego, you are none of the few that sees through his tricks." He hand touching my face.

"Thanks mom you always know what to say to make me feel better"

She shrugs. "It's my job honey"

She leans over and kisses my forehead.

I got out of the car and threw my bag over my shoulder, at the same time my dad comes over hugging and kissing my mom. I envied their love and relationship. I just hope that one day i'll find a guy that shows the love my father has to my mother.

"I ambled my way up the drive and into the house, tossing my bag onto the bed I stared out the window to the beach below. Aside from the master bedroom that had the best view of the ocean I manage to claim the second view, it was fun watch my sister go on her rampage about how she's a girl and needs the bigger space and view. Though I manage to hold my ground I even caught her trying to move our stuff and I shut that down real quick. To this day she still gets a bit annoyed with me having this room but I didn't really care what she thought or felt.

As I walked down the stairs I heard two sets of voices talking and one of them wasn;t my father. As It turned the corner of the stairwell I stopped in place.

A tall well muscular man stood next to my mom towering over her like a giant standing over someone, his blond hair and the way he stood with his hands deep into his pockets sent flags up but when he turned to look up and I gazed into his emerald green eyes I froze in place.

It was William Fairchild.

William or Will as he like dot be called was an my first friend that I had made when my family and I came to the Hampton's for our first summer. He lived in the beach house a few doors from ours, but Will was different. He grew.

His designer jeans hugging he tree trunk thick thighs showing how defined they were but his upper body was different! He wore a short sleeve graphic T shirt of a surf board on the front. T He shirt hugged his chest tightly you can see the shape of his square pecs even his nipples that pushed through the fabric.

I took in a deep breath realizing I wasn't breathing. The buzz in my ears that I didn't realize was there diminished as I finally heard my mom.

"Alex...you okay?"

I shake my head. "Yeah...sorry...just caught off guard here. Wow Will...you look...different' I chuckled.

His cheeks flushed and I couldn't help but smile. He stood with shyness, his shoulders were hunched, head low, his hands buried deep in his pockets of his jeans. Despite the massive change he still was the shy kid I knew form summer one.

"Yeah I wanted a change this summer so I started working out a lot and now yeah..." He half smiled at me.

"Well you look handsome as ever, tell you mom thank you for the cookies and hope to see her soon for a game of cards"

"Will do Mrs. Swan." He waved at her as she walked back into the kitchen.

"HOw have you been?" I asked.

"I been great just happy it's summer and going to college" He said. "How are you?"

I Shrug. "I been okay my boyfriend cheated on me before school was out with my friend and I been dealing with it the best I can."

I looked up and for a moment I could see a flash of anger run across his face but he quickly composed himself.

"I'm sorry, people who do that just scum. They don't deserve good people like you"

IT was silent between us for a second before he spoke up again.

"Hey listen, I'm having a bonfire tonight to celebrate the first day of summer you should come" He said calmly.

"Yeah that be great...but my sister..."

He laughed. "Bring her too."

"Cool" I smiled.

.........

After telling my sister about her invite she was excited and gave me a hug which was rare and spent all the remainder of the day going through her stuff to find something to wear.

Once we got there twenty or so people were already there milling around, red solo cups in hand. Several of them were pouring beer from a keg near a large pick up truck into the cups.

"Alex!" A voice yelled out.

That's when I saw him. My heart raced as I watched will jog across the sand to me. His oecs bouncing in his White cotton T-shirt his calf bulging with each stride he made and his smile made my insides do that tango. God. Last summer I just saw him as a goofy skinny surfer boy who loved to joke but now he had grown into a man. I have no idea my body is feeling this way especially when I just got out of a relationship.

"Hey you made it" His white smiled was wide.

"Yeah I wouldn't have missed it for the world" I smiled back.

"Cool come on I want to introduce you to my friends. He reached down taking my hand into his own large one and pulled me along. I could feel my cheeks flush as we walked to his friends a few people began giving us a few side glances. I hated to be the center of attention.

As the sun began to dip further down into the horizon it got colder, he was kind and pulled a sweater from his car and we sat by the fire listening and laughing as his friends joked and told stories of what stupid things they did during their final year of high school. It was a an amazing change the feeling of being cheated on went away and I was living in the now and present. It was amazing. As it got later I watched my sister get escorted home safely. My sister may have an ego the size of the moon but she's a lady at heart.

"Do you want me to walk you home?" Will asked.

"Yeah i'd like that"

We walked down the beach the moon high in the sky giving us plenty of light to see our way to my house.

"So what school are you planning on going to for college?" He asked.

"I'm not sure I was thinking of Michigan State but I want to explore and go to a college out of the state perhaps New York State or something"

He smiled "So close here that be fun so we could hang out more instead just the summer"

"Yeah that would be nice" I replied.

"So...ho long were you and that guy who cheated on you dated for? IF you don't mind my asking." He asked carefully.

"It's not problem. We dated for a good minute but guys like him always move on" I said.

"If I was there i'd probably have beaten the shit out of him" He said coldly.

"And I wouldn't have minded."

We both laughed.

We reached the porch stopping at the front door.

"Thanks for inviting me tonight really it just what I needed."

"I'm glad I could help Alex" He said softly. Smiling.

I began to unzip his sweater when he stopped me. "No keep it."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"I got dozens" He said. "I should get back to help clean the area"

"Sure...I'll see you soon" I leaned up and to both of our surprised I kissed his cheek.

His face was red as he looked down at me in aw. It took him a moment before he could recompose himself. He cleared his throat and kissed my cheek.

"Night Alex"

"Night Will"

I entered the house and closed the door.
