Seth’s Perspective

At just under 30 years old, Grammaw’s old Buick Century (AKA The Green Dragon) still purred like a kitten and floated over the highways as she drove us back to her original home. I bought her four years ago from Brody and planned on driving her until the wheels fell off, I LOVED that car. The road trip to North Carolina was long and tiring… thirteen and a half hours not including bathroom breaks or food stops. The old boat was getting about thirty miles to the gallon… I was impressed. I wanted to drive so that we could bring the puppy home, the seats still had Grammaw’s plastic covers on them so I figured it was the perfect plan. However, Zach wanted to fly and it took everything I had to convince him to drive without giving away the surprise. We were both excited to spend New Year’s eve with Max and Brody, but I was even more excited to surprise Zach with the puppy for our anniversary.

We had left St Louis at 5AM on the dot and were pulling into the long gravel drive of BroMax Farm at a little before 8PM. I pulled up to the garage where Max’s salt covered Camaro was sitting and parked the car. The engine was still running when Zoey came out to greet us. Zach (who had napped for the last hour or so of the trip) got a second wind when he saw his old pal Zoey… damn he loved that dog (well all dogs really. I couldn’t wait to surprise him with his own). I heard Max’s voice boom from the front porch as he and Brody started to make their way towards us, “Yay!!!!! You’re finally here!!!!” We had been there just a month earlier for Thanksgiving, but it felt like we were apart forever and I was so happy to see my old friends. I embraced Max with a hello hug while Brody avoided my hugs (as he had a tendency to do) and went to the trunk to unload our bags. “I hope you guys are hungry” Max said as he let me go. “My family filled our freezer with seafood and I’m made a shrimp and scallop stir fry and got a little carried away… I could feed a flipping foreign country.”

We had stopped for a burger around noon, but other than chips and beef jerky, that was all we had eaten since we left St Louis at 5AM. “That sounds awesome, I’m starving” I said as we walked towards the old farmhouse. Zach agreed as he threw a stick for Zoey then joined us on our walk. When we entered the house, we were assaulted by an amazing aroma.

“Damn it smells great in here!” Zach said as we walked into the kitchen. Max moved to North Caroline about a year and a half ago and we had only been to visit a few times, but we were both comfortable there and the place felt like home to us. Brody came down the steps after he put our bags away and we all sat down to dinner. Max’s family had been visiting over Christmas and he was going on and on about their visit. It sounded like his grandfather was obsessed with Max’s business and Max lit up as he talked about the time he spent with him. Then we talked about Christmas Day with my family at Mom and Pop Nicholls’ house, and Christmas Eve with the Hall’s. The biggest Christmas surprise of all was seeing my brother Eli at the Hall’s on Christmas Eve. He and Zach’s sisters Riley hooked up at our wedding and apparently had been seeing each other ever since. He lived in Arizona, and she was going to school in New York but they texted constantly, talked or facetimed daily, and Eli had made the trek to New York to see here three times. Me and Zach had no freaking clue! We got to the Hall’s house on Christmas Eve and there was my brother… who the hell knew?! Then on Christmas Day, Riley, and Eli rode with us to Mom and Pop Nicholls’ house. It was kind of surreal, but you know… they seemed well matched. I loved Riley like she was my own sister, and Zach loved Eli like a brother… so why the hell not? Right? And my mother in-law could not be happier, she had once told me that if she could make a straight clone of me for Riley, she would… enter Eli. Yeah, he’s a hell of a lot crazier and freer than me, but looks-wise lol, we were twins. Max’s eyes were wide as I told him the details, Brody just shook his head and snickered. I heard him mutter “Eli” under his breathe at one point. So… that was our Christmas.

Anyway, dinner was fantastic and Zach and I were wiped out from the drive so we went up to our room. The next day was New Year’s Eve and I had arranged to pick up our new addition in the morning… Zach was still clueless. Like I said, we had only been to BroMax Farm a few times, but there was something about the place that made me horny as hell for my husband. Maybe it was the country air, maybe it was just that we were away from the stress of our life in St louis and comfortable there, or maybe it was a combination or even something else completely. Whatever it was, I was hard as a rock the second I shut the bedroom door behind me. Max had one of his candles in every bedroom and a pack of wooden matches next to them… it was a nice touch. I lit the candle to set the mood (This was a new scent. I had no clue what it was, it was kind of a sweet, earthy, oaky scent), stripped naked and laid on top of the old quilt waiting for Zach to finish up in the bathroom and join me. He was in there a good fifteen minutes or so and my naked body was shivering in the drafty old bedroom. By the time he opened the door and entered the, I was covered in goose bumps. Zach let out a little chortle as he flung himself onto the bed and on top of me whispering, “It looks like you need some warming up.” His athletic body covered mine, he was so hot… I don’t mean that in a ‘damn that’s hot’ kind of way, I mean temperature-wise. His hot skin felt like an electric blanket against my cold body.

We started kissing passionately. Zach and I had a great sex life, but lately life was getting in the way with grad school and our jobs. But when we DID find time to make love it was otherworldly. Zach kissed his way down my body, dragging his lips from my lips to my ear and giving it a little nibble. Then he dragged his full lips from my ear down my cheek to my neck. He kissed, licked, and sucked the nape bringing my manhood to full attention. As he kissed down to my nipples sucking each one with his warm lips, he brazed his fingertips up and down my body. He rolled off on me and onto his side as he kissed lower, his hand was now fondling me, stroking me, Damn he felt so good.  I just lay there watching him lick my body, getting more excited with every flick of his tongue. But let’s be real… when it comes to sex, I’d rather be a participant than a spectator, so I flipped myself around and on top of Zach pinning him to the old mattress in a sixty-nine position. I was on top with his cock just inches from my lips and my legs positioned on either side of his chiseled face. I grabbed his cock and lowered my mouth onto it taking him in my mouth and all the way down my throat until his cockhead nestled in the back of my throat. “Fuuuuuck, Seth” Zach growled before he reached up and planted a hand on each of my cold ass cheeks then pulled me down. My hard cock suck deep down his throat and his lips kissed my pubic bush. He pushed my hips up a little, then pulled them back down. He did this over and over pushing me up higher and pulling me down harder each time guiding me to fuck his face. My hips complied with his cajoling and I started to gently face fuck him as I continued to work his cock with my hand and mouth. At one point he pushed me out of his mouth and pulled my tight hole to his face. He licked his way up and down my crack, then around my hole, eventually sinking his tongue deep inside. His tongue felt hard and moist like a thick, wet finger fucking me. He darted in and out of me sending thrills through my body and bringing me to the edge of orgasm.

We spent a good ten minutes this way until Zach got overzealous and rolled us over so he was on top of me. He flipped around so we were face to face and crotch to crotch. He resumed our passionate kiss, grinding his hard cock against mine. The heat emanating from his body, the candlelight, the earthy, oaky scent (which I had identified as leather) wafting from the candle all came together to create a sensual ambiance that fueled my desire. We were face to face with Zach on top of me, our eyes locked, and his hard member pushing at my entrance. I spread my legs so that they were on either side of Zach, then I pulled my knees back to give him easy access. He didn’t miss a beat and pushed his saliva slicked cock into me. He breached my ass ring and plummeted deep into my bowels. “Fuck me” I whispered almost inaudibly making Zach laugh.

“What was that?” he said mockingly. “I couldn’t hear you.”

“Fuck me” I said again just a little bet louder than before.

“What?”

“FUCK ME” I almost yelled. Laughter came from Max and Brody’s bedroom down the hall. When we were visiting at Thanksgiving, we all heard Max and Brody having sex. Now it was us.

“Seth and Zach goin’ it at...” Brody yelled down the hall. “De ja vu of being back in the duplex.” Those were almost the exact words Zach yelled out when we all heard them going at it on our last visit.

I didn’t care, “fuck me” I said a bit quieter as Zach started to pummel my hole. The sound of his balls slapping against my ass was just as loud as my earlier scream, it was a little embarrassing, but damn it felt good.

“I’m cumming” Zach said into my lips, I could already feel his warmth and slickness fill my hole. It felt amazing as his strokes got shorter and faster, then longer, and slower until he collapsed his perfect body on top of mine. Zach rolled off me and I started to jack myself off, I was so close to cumming. Zach moved between my legs and started licking my balls, he knew that drove me wild. The warmth of his mouth pushed me over the edge and I started to shoot my load. Zach moved as quickly as he could to take me in his mouth, he missed maybe half of the first spurt but swallowed the rest down his gullet. Then he cleaned my cock with his mouth, kissed me goodnight, and spooned me.

I woke up New Year’s Eve Morn alone in the guest room. I looked at my phone on the nightstand, it was almost 8AM. I pulled on some sweats and went downstairs where Max was making breakfast. “Good morning” he said cheerfully.

“Where is everyone?” I asked.

“Brody’s up in his office working, and Zach’s outside playing with Zoey” Max answered as he poured me a cup of coffee. I just laughed; damn Zach loved that dog. “So what time is Mr. Mackey expecting you?”

Mr. Mackey was the farmer with the litter of pups. I had been talking to him for about a week. “We’re going out there at 10:00. I’m gonna tell Zach that I need to run out to target, then head take him there to pick up the puppy.”

“I picked up everything on your list” Max said. “It’s in the basement.” I had asked him to get me a crate, some puppy chow, and a bunch of other stuff. If I bought it myself, Zach would find it and it would ruin the surprise.

“Awesome, thank you” I replied. “How much do I owe you, I’ll Venmo it.”

“Consider it an anniversary gift” Max said, but I argued with him until he gave me the total, then I sent him the money. I drank my coffee as Max made omelets. He texted Brody when breakfast was ready, and I yelled out the back door for Zach. The two guys came in and we ate breakfast together. Brody didn’t stay long; he was in the middle of some project for Kev, so he wolfed down his omelet and went back to work. I was so happy the new job was working out for him. He loved it and according to Kev, they loved him.

“Hey” I said to Zach. “I need to go to Target to pick up some stuff, wanna come?”

“Nah, I’ll just hang here” he replied. Crap, there went my plan!

“But we’re in the middle of nowhere, I don’t want to go alone, I’ll get lost” I begged. Max knew what I was up to and just grinned as he watched the scene play out.

“Hey Max, why don’t you go with him” Zach suggested.

Max tried not to laugh, “I can’t, I’ve got too much to do here. Just go.”

Zach let out a heavy sigh “Fine I’ll go with you, just let me take a quick shower.” With that he headed up to the bathroom to get ready.

“Smooth” Max said with a grin as he sipped his coffee. We both laughed about it. “He has no fucking clue, does he?”

“Nope. Not a freaking inkling. I can’t wait to see the look on his face.” I said as I finished my coffee and headed up to join Zach in the shower. It was about quarter to ten when we got in the car and headed out. I put Mr. Mackey’s address in the GPS and started driving through the countryside. Zach was messing with the radio and wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, that was until I pulled into Mr. Mackey’s long drive.

“Where are you going?” Zach asked.

“Target’s right up this road” I answered.

“This isn’t a road, it’s someone’s driveway.” Zach argued.

“Fine. I lied. We’re not going to Target” I said.

“Where the fuck are we?” Zach asked. I didn’t answer, I just kept driving up to the old barn like Mr. Mackey had instructed. Zach kept nagging and asking questions and I just ignored him and kept on driving.

When I pulled up to the barn I said “There’s someone here I want you to meet” then got out of the car. Zach was confused as hell… good!

Mr. MacKey walked up to meet us “Which one of you is Seth?” We shook hands as I introduced myself, then Zach. Zach was still clueless as to why I dragged him out to the middle of nowhere to meet some farmer. We followed the farmer into the barn, he walked over to one of the stalls and picked up the cutest damn puppy I had ever seen. She was the runt of the litter and looked like a mini-Bosco. “This is Petunia” he said as he handed her to Zach. “Well, at least that’s what we’ve been callin’ her, y’all may want to call her somethin’ else.” Zach took the puppy from Mr. Mackey and looked at me, still completely perplexed about what was happening.

“Happy Anniversary” I said. We had our wedding in June, but his mother was stressing me out, so last New Year’s Eve we eloped in Vegas with Max and Brody as our witnesses, well technically it was New Year’s morning at 12:45AM. “You said wanted one of Bosco’s littermates. Here she is.”

A freaking humongous smile lite up his beautiful face “Are you freaking serious?!” He asked.

“As a heart attack” Mr. Mackey answered. Then he handed me a file “here are her records, she’s healthy as a damn horse and has all her shots.” I thanked him and handed him an envelope with the payment in it as agreed. He didn’t charge me much, basically enough to cover the vet bills and his other expenses, he just wanted her to have a good home. He was a very nice man. We hung out at the farm for a little bit while Zach bonded with Petunia, said goodbye, and thanked Mr. Mackey. Then we were on our way back to BroMax farm. Me, Zach, and our new addition.

We got to the end of the driveway and stopped to wait for traffic (by that I mean one old pickup truck slowly passing by). Zach was sitting in the passenger seat holding Petunia, he took a break from talking puppy-talk to turn to me and say “I can’t believe you set this up, I had no fucking clue. Thank you.” Then he kissed me and said, “I love you so fucking much.”

“I love you too” I replied with a chuckle. “So, are we keeping the name Petunia?” I asked Zach.

He laughed and held the puppy up by her under arms and put his face against hers, “what’s your name?” Then he turned his ear towards her, pretended to listen to her, and said, “Petunia? You like that name? Yes? Then that’s your name” he turned to look at me and said “Yup, she says that’s her name.” He was cooing and talking and just loving on our sweet little girl. “Oh shit, we need a collar, a leash, a crate, puppy food, pee pads, chew toys…” Zach started to list off supplies in a panic. “And what about our lease? Can we even have a dog?”

“Geeze, Zach. A month ago, you were ready bring a puppy home on a plane without a second thought, now you’re freaking out” I said laughing. It was obvious that this just got very real for him. “Max picked everything up for us already… it’s all in their basement. I talked to Chip and Alex and they’re cool with it” I said as we made our way back to BroMax Farm.

“Damn, you covered all the bases, didn’t you?” Zach said with a relieved smile. Then he looked at Petunia and pulled her little snout to his lips and gave her a kiss “I guess it’s official, you’re part of the family, Petunia.” She covered his face with puppy kisses. “Oh my god, I love the smell of her puppy breath.” While he was loving on Petunia, I drove The Green Dragon up the long gravel driveway to BroMax and parked in front of the garage behind the Camaro. Max and Brody came out of the barn to greet us, Zoey came running in from the pasture, and I could hear Jimmy bleating his greeting from behind the fence.

We got out of the car and Zach put Petunia on the ground. “There she is” Brody said as he approached Petunia and crouched down to greet her. “Were y’all surprised?” He asked looking up at Zach.

“Hell, yes, I was! I had no clue” Zach said with the excitement of a child opening the best gift ever on Christmas morning. “And you guys knew all about this?”

“Yeah, they helped me pull it off” I said as I slammed the door. By that time, Zoey was running in circles around the old barn with Petunia about a half-lap behind him trying to keep up with her new friend. While we were all talking and watching the puppies enjoy the fuck out of life, Dylan’s old truck rumbled up the driveway and parked off to the side on the frozen grass. Both doors opened and Roscoe jumped out of the driver’s side and ran to greet the other two dogs, while Bosco kind of plopped out of the passenger side, collected his dignity, then ran to join the others.

“Were you surprised?!” Gina yelled as she walked towards Zach.

Before he could answer I blurted out, “Oh my god, you’re pregnant!” yeah, of course I knew, but when I saw her at their wedding, she didn’t look pregnant. That day… she looked pregnant, and beautiful as hell. Gina just laughed as she came in for a hug, it was so good to see her and Dylan.

Petunia and Bosco reunited, I had no idea if they remembered each other or not, but either way they were having a fantastic time. Roscoe and Zoey had already greeted each other and taken off towards the goat with the two puppies doing their damnedest to keep up with them. Brody was recording everything on his phone to post on our BroMax social media. We watched the puppies run off and Zach yelled “Best damn anniversary present ever! I love her”

As we were all laughing at Zach’s excitement, Gina asked, “anniversary? Anniversary of what?”

“Our wedding anniversary” I said with a grin.

“You guys got married in June” Gina said in confusion. We had kept our little pre-wedding, wedding between the four of us, we ended up telling my father in-law at our bachelor party, but other than that it was a secret.

“Um… we kind of eloped when in Vegas on New Year’s Day last year” I said sheepishly.

“WHAT?! How the fuck did I not know this?!” She yelled getting everyone’s attention… including the frolicking puppies who all stopped and looked at her for a moment before going back to their fun. Zach and I told her the story of how his mother was driving us insane so we eloped with just Brody and Max as our witnesses. Gina’s takeaway from all this? “MAX! YOU KNEW AND DIDN’T TELL ME?!” She went off on our mutual friend for a few minutes.

All Max said was “It wasn’t my news to tell… just like when a certain teacher I know got pregnant and didn’t want the other teachers to know.” Gina’s demeanor changed; Max knew how to work her.

She looked at me and said “Happy anniversary” accentuating it with a hug. After that we went into the house with Max while the others stayed outside with the dogs.

Max built a fire in the fireplace and for the rest of the day he kept bringing appetizers out of the kitchen. Veggie trays with a million different dips, charcuterie with every cracker ever made, shrimp cocktails, meatballs, cocktail weenies, bacon wrapped shrimp, it was like every twenty minutes there was something new. We didn’t have a big meal that night, instead we just grazed all day long. When the sun went down, we all sat in the living room talking and laughing with the four dogs wiped out and sleeping in front of the fireplace. At midnight, Dylan pulled out the fireworks and shot them off lighting up the middle of nowhere while we sat on the big front porch and oo’d and ah’d… it was beautiful. After that, Gina and Dylan said goodnight, loaded Roscoe and Bosco into the truck and went back to their place, and the rest of us went up to bed.

We were lying under the covers in our boxer briefs with Petunia on top, wedged between her two new daddies. “Do you like your anniversary present.”

“I love her! And I love you even more” he answered then gave me a peck on the cheek. “Are you ready for the best year of your life?” Zach asked.

“Yup… until the next one” I replied, this had become a New Year’s Eve tradition with us, the words were always a little bit different but the sentiment was always the same; Let’s make every year our best one.

We kissed good night and I fell asleep in the warmth of his muscular arms. It truly was a happy new year.
