Shadow world

It had been nearly a month since he found out about the Shadow World. A world filled with creatures that should only exist in movies and books and a race of people who call themselves Shadowhunters who been protecting humanity for over a thousand years. His new friend Jonathan Whitecloud, is a one of these people who met by accident and in the process discovered his ability to see into his world. 

It was new Year's Eve, He hadn't seen Jonathan in nearly two weeks since school led out for winter break. Jonathan had returned to his homeland. Idris. Or the capital or only city Alicante to spend the holidays with his extended family. 

Parker read about the city in a textbook that Jonathan had left for him. It was the only city the Shadowhunters had and it was nicknamed as the city of glass. In the city are demon towers that ward against any demon from entering or being from magically entering the city without permission, the city is divided into by a large river where the city is on one side and the other are where many homes where it's residents resides. 

Parker sat in the living room looking down at the streets below where people were walking around and laughing. This was the first year his mom had to work leaving him alone, she needed to work so he couldn't blame her. 

It was nearly midnight when he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine he asked his mom to get for him. Normally she would have said no but given her leaving she made an exception. Parker grabbed a glass and walked over to the living room. He stopped in his tracks when someone knocked on his door.

"No you are fine really. Just I never get asked it much" He says. "My dad was killed in a car accident when I was five he was killed instantly least that what the doctors told us when my mom came to identify the body." 

Jonathan squeezed Parker’s hand.

"I'm sorry Parker" he says.

"It's okay. I remember him always picking me up and pretending to fly me around like an airplane and pushing me on the swing. Mom says that the was the happiest dad in the world and that they were planning to have another baby before his accident."
